Didn’t know that this cool little oasis was all vegetarian. Very tasty food even without the meat. 2 tacos and a burrito = $26.00. We sat upstairs on the stools facing the street. Decent music playing at a very acceptable volume. Friendly, helpful staff. Only disturbing thing was the swinging kitchen door when it swung shut with a loud bang ! No big deal but almost jumped out of my skin the 1st couple of times it happened ! lol.

If you’re in Mt. Pleasant or around and haven’t been to Budgies Burritos yet, you’re missing out! Their burritos and tacos are massive and packed with flavour, the vibe is laid-back and local, and they offer the most pocket-friendly vegetarian and vegan Mexican dishes. Support local businesses and give Budgies a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Best place for having lunch or dinner Superb portions. I tried their Burritos and tacos this is hands down the most delicious vegetarian food place I have ever tried. The price is also reasonable. I am a fan of their food for sure!

Google
Great neighbourhood veggie burrito place!!! Loved the Jamedog burrito - potatoes were delicious, and it was a good size too! Really fresh salsa with the tortilla crisps. Would definitely come back again!

I went there on their anniversary day which they offer $6 burritos. Highly recommend the place for vegetarians, but it was just okay for me. They have a some seating area inside.

Google
Gem of the city, for real! All of this was spectacular, the service was so amazing, the people behind the counter were so nice and made me feel very welcome. The food was so good, I tried their quesadilla which was 12.95 and it was so filling and delicious with complimentary guac on the side. Also, the art and the overall vibe of the place was amazing. I loved it. They were playing some sort of low-fi, jazz music. I Even bought a tote-bag with one of their designs. You guys have to check this place out!

I've been many times over the years and Budgies is always good! Lately I've been on a quest for a good burrito, and Budgies is the only place I've visited that actually made one! Glad I can always count on Budgies! Also! They always play super cool music and the people that work are always chill!

One of the best place to enjoy a vegan meal. Been coming to this place from last 10 years. The taste and flavours been same from day one until now. Been placing the same order and it tastes just as good as the first day I tried it. Never been disappointed, always leave happy, full and content! Love this place

Yelp
We were on our way to check out a shop on Broadway and since Budgie's Burritos was nearby, I finally got to use my plant based deals coupon for it. My daughter and I both ordered burrito bowls and took them to go. It looks like a cute place and they have seating downstairs as well. Hope that we can eat in the shop itself next time. My daughter got The Mr. Jones burrito bowl and I got the Jamedog. The Mr. Jones was a pretty basic combination of ingredients. It had rice, beans, vegan cheese , sour cream, salsa, and green cabbage. Jamedog was similar but slightly more complex as it came with a chipotle sour cream, as well as garlic and lime roasted potatoes. Wow, those potatoes were so good! If I find myself at Budgie's Burritos again I will definitely order the Jamedog again just so I can eat those wonderful garlic and lime roasted potatoes again. Service: Good Parking: Mostly paid parking but there is some limited free parking on the street Location: 44 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC

Yelp
This is a popular Mount Pleasant vegetarian burrito/taco restaurant, and a good alternative to the big brand name burrito joints for plant-inclined eaters. The staff are very cool as is the vibe. I've tried a few things here: the Johnny O, Blair Stanley, Jo June, and Poser in either burrito or bowl form, and also the vegan chocolate chip cookie they offer. The Poser so far is the clear winner - the ground round was nicely seasoned. Jo June was alright but blander than expected given that it's made with stewed poblano peppers. I did really like the Johnny O, but the chipotle sour cream is what ties it together, so I'm not sure if the vegan version would hit the same. In general, the burritos/bowls lean toward the "stuff thrown in a bowl together" vibe rather than a cohesive dish to me. It's okay but not something I'd crave. Similarly, the cookie was fine but didn't wow me. I probably wouldn't get it again, but I just don't care for chocolate chip that much unless it's got something special about it. All that being said, I am willing to go back and keep exploring the menu to see if I find something that really speaks to me.

Yelp
I wanted to give them a 3.5 but I'll stick to 3. This is a vegetarian Mexican restaurant in Vancouver and they have a variety of packages. I really liked Gauc with chips. The Burritos were okay in my opinion. We tried Jo June and Jamedog Burritos on two separate occasions. While Jamedog was very delicious, thanks to garlic roasted and lime potatoes in it, Jo June wasn't. I felt Jo June didn't justify the key ingredients it had in it. It was very bland and the salsa on the side didn't help it at all. After spending a lot of time in Texas and California and and being close to Mexican cuisine, my expectations were slightly higher. Parking was on the street. Didn't pay for it.

Yelp
I'm a carnivore but the lineups each time I passed by got me curious. After finishing my work at Gene Coffee next door, I walked by it and studied the menu. With no lineup at all, I decided to give it a try. I told them I like meat and she recommended Poser to me. Then I added their bestseller Johnny O. Yes, the option questions caught me off guard but she was patient. I basically ended up doing half and half for the beans and lettuce/cabbage. Then I had to choose the spicy level for the salsa. I went for medium but I have to say I didn't feel any heat. I'll have to try hot (Chipotle) next time. After I paid, I turned around and holy guacamole! Suddenly there are 10 people lining up behind me! The wait was fine as I watched them with much anxiety preparing my burritos. She called out my name and handed me the bag with a smile. Lovely. The food? Fantastic. The shell is soft and the Poser was warm. Johnny was room temp as it doesn't have any "meat". I think I prefer a warm one next time. The purple cabbage makes it a harder bite too.

Yelp
A good option for late night snack, lunch, or take out! The prices are affordable and dishes can be vegan Just order at the counter and the staff will bring the food. There isn't a lot of seating, but the orders are made quite quickly The menu is pretty straight forward with choice of cabbage or lettuce, white or whole wheat tortilla, the spice level of salsa and with refried pinto and or black bean My favorite was the KTB with refried pinto beans, I did not miss the meat at all!

Yelp
Best damn burrito I can remember eating in my entire life. Fun place to eat also, a great music, friendly people.

Yelp
My barber is in the 'hood so I finally dropped into Budgies Burritos. They specialize in vegetarian burritos. You'll find them right beside Gene Coffee Bar. We dropped in on a Thursday for lunch (around 12:30pm) and it was busy. While we were there, they went through 30 orders! There's half a dozen seats to people watch but more seating downstairs along with a couple benches outside. The menu consists of burritos, nachos, tacos, tortilla soup and drinks. There's three sauces by the soda fountain station; red (very very hot), green (pretty hot) and chili paste (medium at best). - Blair Stanley ($9.00 for 12") - tofu in a roasted chipotle & red pepper sauce, rice, beans, cheese, salsa, lettuce and sour cream. The flavours are mute/mundane; it desperately needed sauce to give it some oomph. The burrito bowl looked like the tastier option. - RIP taco ($3.75) - tofurkey sausage, rice, cheese, sour cream, salsa and lettuce (we opted for the red cabbage). The taco was unmemorable other than they go ham on the sour cream. - Mulita ($4.00) - 6" corn tortilla filled with cheese, rice, refried pinto beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and lettuce. This is described as a mix between a taco and quesadilla. My favourite thing out of everything we ordered. Hefty and I liked the mix of ingredients. BB is popular because it's quick, affordable and filling but their offerings didn't blow me away. 2.5 stars.

Yelp
let me make it short. I'm 30 years old, took take out all over canada my entire life! I do take out often! and this is the first time I got such bad food poisoning.

Yelp
Great vegetarian & vegan burritos! Only reason I wouldn't rate 5 stars is because there are no meat options, but the location is hipster central so I totally understand lol. I've also mentioned adding a sweet potato or yam burrito to their menu many times, which I think would be an incredible veggie option!

Yelp
Coming from Southern CA I can say their burritos are not traditionally what you'd find in a Mexican restaurant, but the unique twist they offer is delicious in its own right. Quality, vegan/vegetarian ingredients and generous portion sizes. Definitely the best burrito I've eaten north of the border. The location itself screams grunge, which isn't my vibe but it fits the theme. Personally I get my burrito to go since inside seating is limited. I was disappointed to see they no longer have a fountain beverage machine, but I assumed this was a casualty of the pandemic. Definitely make it a point to stop here and grab a burrito to go.

Yelp
I was hungry at bus stop. Then I saw interesting sign on the street and had quick check at Yelp! It seemed nice place. So I decided to try their vegetalian burrito. I'm so happy they have so many kinds of vegetalian dishes. And very tasty! I should have read the instruction how to order first but cashier lady was very friendly and kind. I think I could get what I wanted and very satisfied. I had Henry. It was first time to have Tofurkey for myself . I was shocked because it was so flavorful. Then I overheard they use Italian sausage flavored one. That make a sense. I'm sure I will come back again.

Guess W.

Yelp
I still enjoy Budgies after all these years, but I think I'm going to have to pull the plug due to price. After going up to $11 + tax during pandemic for the regular size, I went in recently and it's now $12.50 + tax for the same burrito. Not $11.25 or $11.50, no... a whopping $1.50 more, literally overnight. In fact they've raised all their prices across the board, again. They can blame it on inflation all they want but I'm not buying it, and it's just not worth it anymore. ~$13+ for what used to cost around $7-$8 before pandemic (see photo: https://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/budgies-burritos-vancouver?select=UVYEW16XpD7Gm97ybAmQJg) is too much for the same product. I doubt they will ever lower the price, either. Really sad after all these years to have to say goodbye to one of my favorite restaurants, but simply cannot justify the cost anymore. The ingredients are pretty basic (beans, rice, cabbage, guac, cheese etc) and IMO there's no way that totals up to $13+ w/ tax. To me these blatantly large price increases seem like greedflation, and I won't be supporting them any longer.

Yelp
If you're looking for a SUPER HIPSTER, QUICK, AFFORDABLE, and DELICIOUS Mexican eatery in Mount Pleasant, then please drop in to Budgies Burritos. The prices are all $10 for large portion of Veganizable Burritos/Bowl (At any given restaurant I am going to choose the large serving...so I didn't check the regular size prices, sorry!) Just like most restaurant dishes, their food is on the saltier side, but that's because I haven't been consuming as much sodium lately. My boyfriend described this place as an elevated food truck with a roof, and he's totally right. I recommend this place for a guy's night, but skip this place if you want to impress your romantic date!

Yelp
I heard of Budgies through word of mouth and Yelp, so I went here earlier to try their burritos. The decor had a hippy vintage vibe going on. I ordered 10" Stanley burrito ($8)for here and the lady spoke too fast to get order. I was too late to figure out the options (eg. whole wheat or flour tortilla, sour cream or guac kind of thing). Because I've read other reviews saying burritos are filling; 10" size was big enough to fill my tummy. Stanley burrito was good. It would be tastier with green pepper, corns and other veggies I think. Staff was helpful cutting my burrito in half. I'll go back to try more on the menu. Although I'm usually a meat lover, I'll give 4 stars for a good inexpensive burrito.

Yelp
It's a little tucked away, but if you find it you'll be treated to some of the best vegan food in town. The burritos are big, filling and delicious. Great value all around and the vibes there are excellent. Blair Stanley all the way.
google avatar

Sofie P.

Yelp
Credit for speed of service and every menu item can be made vegan. Also, a pretty big portion! Also, just realized I got the same burrito as the first time I came here and didn't like it. Lol. my bad. Still...Don't know what it is. For a solely vegetarian/vegan place, I expected better. The tortilla had a bitter aftertaste, the cheese was just daiya and the vegan meat crumbles was yves. I could make this at home, and probably better (though I couldn't wrap it as nicely). There wasn't much lettuce and there was no authentic flavour complexity. I've had much better vegan Mexican food.
google avatar

Becky M.

Yelp
I'd give them 3.5. They're great with efficiency. The burrito was made quickly. You gotta know what you want, though: cabbage or lettuce, white or brown burrito, beans or something else. I got cheese, but I'm assuming it was vegan cheese? I'm not a vegan, but I'm always open to trying new food. This was a decent experience. I ordered the poser burrito with veggie meat, cheese, cabbage, black beans & med hot sauce. Honestly, I didn't taste much of the sauce. Thankfully, I took it home, so I could add my own hot sauce to the burrito. That was better. The cost is around $9 for a decent sized burrito; I can see why people come here. However, I would be more impressed if there were more variety in their burritos.

Yelp
Took Mr Jones home with me after a long day of meetings. The burrito was okay, a bit light on the lettuce and sour cream, but given the long lineup these burritos seem to be a hit. The tortilla was too gooey, a tad under cooked, and even loaded up with the green salsa from the help yourself bar, Mr Jones was on the bland side. Each burrito is prepared fresh - so be prepared to wait for a little while. Next time will go for Johhny-O and a bowl, which will amp up the taste. Staff are pleasant, ordering is quick and simple. Located across from the Mount Pleasant library. Parking is brutal, 8 and 19 bus stops right in front.

Yelp
I'm from California so have pretty high standards for burritos. I am also vegetarian. I was very, very impressed with Budgies Burritos in Vancouver, Canada. This burrito spot was near my hotel, and we used it as a landmark every day to get off at the right bus stop. My mom is a huge meat eater, and did not know that this was a vegetarian joint, but asked for a taco. She absolutely loved it, and I was equally impressed with my vegetarian burrito. Is it the best burrito I've ever had? No, of course not, it's Canada. But they set a high standard and do a great job of making hearty vegetarian food. Too often, people hear "vegetarian" and try to make food crazy and unique, but really I just want normal meals without meat. This place sets a good bar. Equally noteworthy, they're open late, have great music, and fast service. Well done Budgies!
google avatar

Guerric H.

Yelp
Great plate of nachos! I was in the mood for nachos and decided to go for a plate with cilantro, jalapeños, and refried beans, along with a can of cider. I got more nachos than I expected - and even better, almost all the nachos had toppings on them! The layering was great, and there was a really hearty amount of cheese overall even though I didn't ask for extra cheese! It was definitely a filling meal all on its own. The place itself is quite small, but it has a nice hole-in-the-wall vibe, and the staff were friendly and service was pretty quick, though I think nachos are a bit slower to arrive than everything else. I'd definitely come back to try something else from the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
I probably enjoyed the veggie burritos here more than I should have. I mean, one of these best things about Mexican food is your ability to choose from a variety of meats: pork, beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp and fish. To eat a veggie burrito is almost completely missing out on the full experience. Yet, Budgies manages to turn a deficit into an asset. The burritos were dense so have no fear of leaving hungry; I was as stuffed as if I had eaten a pulled pork burrito. I appreciated that I was offered a choice of white or whole wheat tortilla and a choice of lettuce or red cabbage. The condiments at each table consisted of two types of salsa and a chili paste/oil. Food was prepared super quick despite a short line of people waiting. The clientele at budgies can best be described as hipster-ish so we looked a little out of place. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon, because I do love my meats, but Budgies is worth trying.
google avatar

Colene C.

Yelp
Cheap and cheerful burritos stuffed full of veggie goodness. I love stopping here when I feel like a quick meal that's got all my favourite food groups. You don't even miss the meat when it tastes this good. My go-to is the Jame-Dog as those roasted lime potatoes have such great flavour. Another fave is Johnny-O with the jalapeños and guacamole. With Covid and the nearby fire, they've got new operating procedures: Line up outside, wait til there's a green light, Max 2 people inside at a time. Must wait inside for your order to be done.
google avatar

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Budgies continues to offer a great value for fully-loaded & hearty burritos. Not your cookie-cutter burrito! During our last visit, we had the tofurky burrito and the tofu burrito. Despite the basic components being similar, each had enough of a distinct flavour. Friendly staff!
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Had no idea vegetarian food can be so delicious. Budgies Burritos is a colorful and tiny restaurant with only about 10 seats. They serve tacos and burritos, but since they had "burritos" in their name, I went with that. I ordered the "Henry", which had tofurkey, rice, black beans, cheese, sour cream and salsa. At $7, it was a steal and filled me up. They're on the list to revisit from me.

Jim T.

Yelp
Purchased a burrito at lunch time here (February 2023), as I've done many times before. While I was sitting waiting for my order to get made I saw mice scurry around the feet of the person who was next in line as they made their order. Pests are always going to be a challenge in food service, but if rodents are bold enough to be running around the dining area in broad daylight, it's a big problem. In any case, I lost my appetite and will probably take a pass on this place for a while.
google avatar

Elvi R.

Yelp
This is the best Burrito I've had so far!! It was my first time trying it a few nights ago and I can't wait to go back. They now added vegan cheese on their menu so they no longer replace the cheese and sour cream with guacamole, but with vegan cheese. The guacamole is extra but still much cheaper than Chipotle. Omg so good. We had the Henry and the Poser both vegan. They were both great but the posée is definitely my fav out of the two. Our burritos weighed about 5 pounds each, they're really generous with their portions. You need to try this place if you're in the area.

Imma M.

Yelp
$9 for a burrito the size of an infant, in Vancouver? How is this possible? I've been coming to Budgies for the same standing order (the Johnny O) since ~2006, when it was a hole in the wall. Since then, they have dramatically expanded their space (to include a whole downstairs section) and their menu (to include tacos). In that entire span of time, Budgie's has been nothing if not consistent. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful, and service is always efficient. It gets crowded in here at lunch time, with good reason: Budgies is some of the best fast casual food in the neighbourhood, in terms of both taste and value. Budgies caters to a range of dietary needs. The vegan options here do not taste vegan. Budgies is basically a Mount Pleasant institution at this point, and I make a point to take out of town guests here. My 8 year old son says this is his favourite restaurant. Without a doubt, best vegetarian Mexican in Vancouver.

Yelp
If you consider yourself a hipster, I'd recommend coming here for a reality check -- you really aren't that hip or arrogant or pretentious as the people who work here. I've visited this place twice eventhough we had a bad experience with service the first time. Why? Because everyone deserves a second chance, right? Plus the burritos are damn good! But is it worth it for all the rude, sassy, "I'm too cool" service? First time I was there, this gal with blonde hair, tats and piercings was handling our order. There were options to customize your burrito: small or large, flour or wheat tortilla, black beans or pinto beans, etc.. It was our first time there so we didn't know the process. Instead of explaining to us that we had these options she just pointed to a piece of laminated paper on the counter that listed the options. Alright we get it, no biggie BUT the sass just didn't stop. She made us feel like we didn't belong in such an establishment. As we sat there waiting for our order, we noticed that she did the same to each and every customer. Whether they were a regular or a newb... same sass! Second time was even WORST than our first experience. We knew the process so we were determined to feel like we belonged. However, all our confidence was completely deflated by this chick with black hair and bangs. She didn't give a rat's arse about customer service. She sat there with ZERO expression on her face while taking our order. We had kind of forgotten the process so instead of being like her fellow blondie cohort and pointing at the laminated paper, she just stared at us.. STARED!!!! Hahah.. Is this really happening!? Well we managed to make it through the traumatic ordeal of ordering from miss stone-face and couldn't wait to finish our burritos to get the eff out of there. Maybe we'll just try ordering online next time :)

Yelp
Vegetarian burritos and tacos in this little shop close to Broadway and main. It seems quite small at first, but down the stairs there's some more seating. Don't expect anything fancy from here. They do burritos simple, but delicious. You can choose from a variety of fillings and then customize it. You have an option of10 inch or 12 inch, wheat or flour tortillas, vegan or dairy cheese, black beans or refried pinto beans, and mild, medium, or hot. For some extra kick, they have 3 sauces you can choose from off to the side. This is a great place to get a satisfying meal at a reasonable price.
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Not good at all when here today to get a burrito and they kept telling me there is something wrong with my debit card as it wasn't my cards fault. So then I tried to pay with cash and they don't even have change to break a $20 bill for a $9.40 meal that's pretty fucking lame how can you run a restaurant business if you don't even have a fucking change in the TIL and the lady who served me was extremely fucking rude to meet too I would not recommend this place to anybody I came here on my lunch break from work I would not recommend this place to anybody unless you have exact change
google avatar

Yelp
Bought two bean burritos first time at Budgies, and the Burritos were ice cold. GROSS When I took them back to be heated the staff were very reluctant to do so. I neVer would want a cold burrito so not sure why they would want to give customers ice cold food. And when they were reheated they were barely warm. Greatly disappointed and will not be going there ever again. I only like my salad cold not my burritos! So thanks but no thanks
google avatar

Yelp
Great value for your money. 12" burritos for under $10. An all vegetarian joint with an option to veganize at no charge. I would recommend the Poser (veggie ground round), the Henry (tofurky) , and the Jamedog (garlic lime roasted potatoes). I also had the quesadilla for a change; while it was tasty, I still preferred the burritos. You can also call ahead of time if you have a large order and they will give you an estimated time for pickup. If you're in the Mount Pleasant area, definitely stop by. You won't regret it. See photos for reference of the size of these vegetarian monstrosities :)

Yelp
Yessssss! What a cute little place! Prices are absolutely reasonable. Gluten free and vegan options are available. Staff are super chill and friendly. Tacos come out fast and hot and they have home made hot sauces to add extra flavour and heat! I always get the potato taco which is super delicious! Huge chunks of tomatoes and so much flavour. I tried the refried bean (made vegan and added avo - at no extra costs)! Super delicious meal and you leave stuffed!

Yelp
I've been here a few times now, and although I love the size of the burritos and the unique combos (also 100% yes to potatoes in burritos), I have yet to eat anything here and be blown away by it. Maybe I just order the combinations that are less good? Not sure. Cute, hipster environment, and the staff has always been super friendly. And it's right across from the library, which for me is a huge perk.

M. Y.

Yelp
I wanted a quick but filling meal so I ordered a 12" Poser burrito ($11). Definitely should've gone for the 10"! It was very filling. I don't eat a lot of vegetarian food when I'm out so I wasn't sure what to expect. Yes, the Poser is the one with veggie ground but there was more rice and beans than anything else but it was all very good. I went with the hottest salsa (chipotle I think) but it was honestly not spicy, which was fine. I also really liked how organized they were. They were closed for indoor dining so I've never been inside but they had set up a line outside, large menu, a light to signal when its your time to order, signs about your customization options (mine was flour tortilla, spicy salsa, refried beans, red cabbage). I'd definitely go back and try the other burritos!

Yelp
This place has levelled up from "the place I go to in Mt. Pleasant" to "a place I'll sometimes go out of my way to pick up." Again, one of the best vegetarian options in the city, period, and one of the best burrito/taco joints in the city - especially considering value. A large burrito is essentially a meal on its own, and if you're not quite hungry enough for that all of the filling options are available as soft tacos as well. They also have a selection of spicy dips, most of which seem to be made in house. (I'm always reminded by my fiancé to get some to go if I'm picking food up.) Their nachos are very simple, but also very satisfying when split with friends alongside a burrito. The main reason for the updated review is that they have really upped their beer game since they first got taps in. Even with the solid drink options in the neighbourhood, I sometimes suggest this place to split a pitcher over some tacos with a friend or two (but no more than three, let's get real here). Also, the reputation they seemed to have for "hipster-level service" is a relic of the past, to be thrown on the scrapheap of history alongside The Foundation (good riddence). Every time I'm in there the staff are friendly and efficient.

Yelp
So good! The burrito was so complex with so many layers of flavor. Go hungry because they are dense and delicious!

Yelp
Definitely one of the better burritos out there and from what i have had, the best in vancouver. good location, good tunes, good eats. i like the fillings you're able to choose with each burrito and the tortilla really seals ; - ) the deal. my personal fave is "the poser" made vegan. it's a perfect portion and you leave feeling ready to take on your day (or night)

Yelp
My go-to for cheap, filling vegetarian/vegan burritos when I'm in the Mount Pleasant area. Quick service as usual. A 10" is enough to fill you up if you aren't too hungry. Tried their nachos again but this time with tofurkey sausage. They don't skimp on the cheese nor the sausage. It's worth adding to your nachos if you're feeling like more than just tortilla chips and cheese.

Yelp
Prices are now $9 for a small, $10 for a large, plus tax -- add $1 for guacamole now to make it vegan, or sub vegan cheese for no extra charge. Portions are still large. You know what you're going to get here, and that makes it a reliable place for a quick, affordable, filling bite to eat.

Yelp
The best vegan burrito I've ever had! Decent prices, super fast service (I've never waited more than five minutes for my burrito to be ready), and a cool small restaurant, combined with the taste, makes me come here usually at least once a week. I've tried all of their burritos but my favourite is the vegan Blair Stanley because the sauce they have the tofu in is amazing. The employees are usually nice enough, some seem a little cold but overall it's a pretty chill environment. They're always playing such a weird range of music but I like it. The only thing I do wish is that they had vegan sour cream as a substitute but it tastes great without it. Open til midnight, they're a great place to go for anytime you want an amazing burrito!

Yelp
I love this place. Prices are incredibly low (still!) and they haven't changed a thing since they opened, years ago. The best is when they say there's cheese in the burrito, there's CHEESE. When they say there's guacamole, there's GUACAMOLE. They do not disappoint.

Yelp
Da Tofurky burritos are WHAMMY!! Wonderful as they got vegan option. Just like in da song ;)... I am more a man eater than a meat eater haha!! So I was amazed to find out this place... Cuz recently one of my girlfriends moved in the area with her hubby and her lil crew. So after the moving we went directly there. The decor is awesome and unique. And the staffs is so kind. Smiley and genuine. I like the fact that you can pick a small or large burritos/tacos. Am I an hipster?! Cuz I love their musical (weirdo) choice. SUPER CHEAP 10 token for a burrito and a drink. WHAMMY!!

Yelp
What is not to love about Budgies? I came here for dinner with the BF, it was our first time at Budgies, so it took us a minute to give the menu a once-over. When we first came in, we were blasted with warm spicy smelling air, so I knew this place was going to be a winner. The lady taking our order was awesome, she could tell that we had never been in there before and was super helpful, and also thought maybe we had been living under a rock since we hadn't been in before. It's true, I do live under a rock.... Fraggle Rock. I ordered the Blair Stanley as a vegan burrito, I had my choice of whole wheat or flour, so I asked for whole wheat. They also let you pick which kind of salsa you would like, so I went for the fresh stuff, and topped it off with black beans. It was pretty much the best vegan burrito I have ever had. I loaded it up with some hot sauce and devoured it pretty quickly. The BF ordered the tortilla soup, which he said was amazing, but I didn't try because it had dairy in it, and he also had the Johnny-O burrito. The restaurant was filled with paintings that looked like they had a velvet background, like that famous one of Elvis where he has one tear rolling down the side of his face. It kind of reminded me of my Grandpa's basement when I was a kid. They also had a faux fireplace, which we seated ourselves next to. But what really won me over was the box of Trivial Pursuit cards on the table. Hello? This is the best idea I have ever seen! We basically entertained and educated ourselves while we waited for our burritos, which didn't take very long. I am pretty sure I will be going back to test out the rest of the menu, especially the NACHOS!

Yelp
I live around the corner and used to come here AT LEAST twice a week. It's quick and easy, the food is pretty good, but heres the catch: The staff are absurdly rude. The first few times it happened, I allowed it as it's a hipster style place and I thought maybe it was part of their "schtick," the last few times however, I've been furious. There is a piece of paper laid out so that you can quickly move through the ordering process, but they make you feel like an idiot for following it. If you do not follow the piece of paper, they do not ask you questions, they once again look at you like you are an idiot. There are no "Thank-you" or "please", no form of any manners or customer service and they even have the audacity to make rude gestures symboling that you are dumb when you ask a very simple question like, WHICH OF THESE TWO UNMARKED BURRITOS IS WHICH?! Not worth the quick burrito when you feel insulted for having ordered it.

Yelp
My friggen fave. I've been coming here for the last decade and enjoy it every single time. My favourite is The Poser burrito (I get a small because they are friggen stuffed every time) made vegan. I'm not actually vegan but dairy sometimes makes me sick and guacamole trumps sour cream aaaany day. Sometimes there's a line but...110% worth it.

Yelp
Screw authenticity, whatever that means - that's a good burrito. To wit: rice, refried beans, fresh tomato salsa, sour cream and some other fixins' plus a sprinkle of cilantro all wrapped up in a flour tortilla and warm and freshly made and everything delicious and satisfying. Plus, you have to love those paintings on velvet in the shop; deep down in your hipster heart, you know you wish you thought of it first. Even my carnivorous soul could not have wished for meat in a burrito from Budgies.
