Experienced a wonderful few days at Budock Vean, fantastic service throughout can’t really single out one member of staff. They were all excellent efficient and helpful. Our room was lovely clean and spacious. En-suite facilities superlative with lovely toiletries and towels. The few minor issues were sorted out by house keeping in minutes. The quality of the food was amazing and the choice varied both in the restaurant and in the bar. The service in both was excellent efficient and provided by helpful friendly staff. Highly recommended

First stay here, we know the area very well and we were very excited to stay here. The hotel is in a superb location, a short stroll from the water and a fantastic view awaits. Warmly greeted by a lady at reception and first impressions were great. ||We were given a dated room judging by photos we’ve seen online of much nicer rooms, it was very comfortable however but not a great view and the bathroom was very old fashioned. Hopefully the remaining dated bedrooms will be updated? Disappointing for our first visit. ||The breakfast selection was good, the staff were very attentive and we felt sorry for them as some of the guests were incredibly demanding and needy. The staff did very well to deal with them but as they were being monopolised by the more demanding guests we didn’t want to bother them when part of our order was missing. ||For lunch we ate outside and there was a bit of a wait, I went inside to advise staff we had changed tables. I saw what appeared to be our order on the bar, I enquired if it was our order and the response was ‘I have no idea?’. ||Outside in the evening and at lunch tables weren’t cleared and towels had been left draped over sun loungers all day. It’s such a shame as this place has the potential to be absolutely amazing but it just feels like no one is overseeing anything or controlling things.||Again we want to reiterate a superb location and staff are mostly very attentive and friendly, hopefully these niggles will be addressed as we love this area so much and would like to stay at this hotel again.

The hotel has potential as in a nice setting but seems to be run for golfers and members. It seemed hotel guests are considered a nuisance. We felt uncomfortable many times when asking for just a drink at the bar. Staff were badly trained. Did not acknowledge guests when they walk into the bar, ignored really. It seemed everything is too much trouble and all staff seemed generally unhappy. The reception ladies were helpful and knowledgeable so if you need to ask anything go to them. |The hotel needs some attention as it feels worn in places where just a lick of paint would make it feel better. The bed was comfortable and the room nice although we were over the members bar so there was a lot of loud conversations below the window. The shower was hot and freezing every few seconds and could not cope with the demand of other hotel users. We had the maintenance guy look at it and of course it worked fine then because it was midday and no other users. There was just something that felt so off and we just couldn’t decide really what it was but think a general mix of things listed above probably didn’t help. Also don’t bother to try and walk to the ferryman pub despite the signs. Nobody tells you it’s all dependent on the tides and apparently that’s why the signage is so bad.

We spent two nights here in a very comfy and well appointed 'signature' room. Enjoyed golf, swimming pool and stroll down to lovely quayside. Food was good quality and well presented. ||Only reservation: restaurant was understaffed so service was under pressure and slow at times. But particular compliments to the restaurant manager who did a great job.

We had a super stay here. We paid a very reasonable price for a generous-sized room with lots of lovely touches like robes and slippers. The spa was lovely with a good sized swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. All was clean and felt luxurious. Service was friendly and very efficient throughout and the area is superb with coastal walks and National trust gardens on the doorstep. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.

We had a very enjoyable stay, despite making a last-minute booking. Overall, the experience was very pleasant, with just a couple of minor issues that kept this from being a full five-star rating.||The hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were warm and attentive throughout our stay. It’s also dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. Our room was extremely spacious, and the on-site facilities were excellent.||After a long day exploring the Cornish coastline and enjoying scenic walks, the swimming pool, sauna, and outdoor jacuzzi were exactly what we needed to relax and unwind. Walking the grounds felt like stepping into a Borneo rainforest—truly breathtaking.||We dined at the Terrace Restaurant and found the food to be faultless in quality and presentation. However, there was a significant delay in service, with over an hour wait for our meals. It seemed to be a wider issue affecting several tables that evening.||Later, when we returned to our room (Room 64), we encountered a problem with the shower temperature. Despite several attempts, we couldn’t get it to the right setting and eventually contacted reception. While they kindly offered us access to another room (Room 22) to use the shower facilities, the distance between the rooms made this a bit inconvenient, so we opted for a quicker cold shower instead.||Breakfast the following morning was excellent and rounded off our stay nicely.||Despite the two minor issues, we would happily return and are already recommending the hotel to family and friends. With a few improvements, this would have been a perfect five-star experience.

Had an amazing spa day here. The staff were super accommodating and was so relaxing (which is what you would expect!). My personal highlight was actually the spa lunch. I was expecting tiny portions of food, but they were excellent! Totally recommend the duck starter!

Stayed for 4 nights. Lovely rooms, atmosphere, grounds, spa, golf course and staff.||Big shout out to Mark (in training in the lounge bar). He knew our drink order and was very polite.||Food was fantastic. Golf course and spa very good however Sauna out of action.||Down point, shower in bathroom. Poor pressure, and cloth screen - very 70s. Maybe install new showers in en-suite.||Another down point, the bedroom key. Too heavy and surprised that hotel and room number on tag, so if lost, anyone inside hotel or outside could access the bed room.||Minor points but overall very good hotel.
