A lovely experience, nice window table overlooking the golf course.|Decent 3 course lunch at a normal price for these days. Roast beef and nicely raised Yorkshire pudding Very good Lime Key pie to finish. Service and staff fine. |This is a nice hotel restaurant and will certainly visit again which is more than I can say for some of them in the area.|Parking was a bit tight as I guess all the golfers were there. Do not know what its like in the summer.

What a beautiful location! We stayed for our anniversary and had our first ever game of golf which surprisingly we both loved! The staff are very friendly and Helford River is stunning. Lovely walks The dogs felt welcomed James is a star manager. Thank you We will be back

First of all I must say that it's not a surprise to identify Budock Vean's location. It's well located in all maps, near Falmouth. But when you go there for the first time, it's a real tough drive. The only decent way to go is through Penryn and Mawnan Smith. Don't dare to go the other way round through Port Navas and Constantine to Helston. You will lose your nerves due to several tranches of very narrow roads.|Once said that, perhaps this location in the middle of nowhere is the great value of this hotel. Once you arrive, the sensation is great. Big entrance, clearly signalled with plenty car park spaces. Quick and efficient check-in, also helping us to carry our luggage to fthe second floor without no lift available....|Room was good and spacious. A very comfortable bed and a very good shower and bathroom. They have two dining areas: the restaurant and a pub. We proved both and they were really good. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and it was really good. A very good experience, at all, despite its location

Booked to stay here as a treat for my wife and what a treat is was , we got upgraded to a suite which I have to say was stunning ,beautifully decorated ,lovely comfy space to relax in .I've worked here as a contractor servicing the windows for many years and can see that the new owners really are spending money on big improvements , big shout out to wen on reception who was super friendly ,very professional and just lovely ,also kerri who was very helpful on emails ,the rest of the staff are great except for one waiter who was very aloof! Food was great but I'm a big eater so felt hungry an hour after spending £90 on dinner but fine dining isn't for big eaters . Breakfast was excellent ,Alcohol as standard in hotels is very expensive but good brands ,overall will definitely book again , the signiture rooms and suites are amazing . Happy couple

We booked a couple of nights to celebrate a belated anniversary. We last stayed 14 years ago and this visit didn’t disappoint. Lovely, helpful staff, in a charming hotel with lots of character. We booked a signature room (no: 8) which we were initially more than happy with, but heating and towel rail didn’t work, only one small window opened a few inches and the rest were sealed shut with paint and lots of condensation and black mould. The carpet has seen better days with an obvious dog pee stain and other marks. But bed was sumptuous with crisp clean linen, conducive to a good nights sleep. However, we were upgraded to a suite (No: 39) for the 2nd night which really was lovely, and clearly had a refurb, with stunning views over the garden and golf course. The walk across the grounds, down a footpath and along the shoreline to the Ferryboat inn was definitely worth the effort. Although not for the faint hearted as the footpath is steep and rutty, and definitely need a torch in the evening as the nights draw in. Also beware of the tide times otherwise be prepared to take footwear off to wade through the water. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, worth every penny and definitely recommend it to family and friends!

We have been to Budock Vean many times and this time stayed for 4 nights with friends We had a great room (No 6) overlooking the 9th green The room was always clean and the bed comfortable The food was good for breakfast and dinner In the evening the menu was complimented with some specials otherwise the main menu might have been a bit repetitive. The staff were all pleasant but getting drink at the bar was sometimes protracted. We also enjoyed the golf course and the walk to the Ferryboat Inn We would comment on two issues ; We are not fans of dogs being allowed to walk free in the conservatory dining area and would not choose to eat in there. We were given set times for our meals in the main restaurant, we found this a bit regimented and sometimes diluted the flexibility of our plans. But all in all we had a good time I expect we will be returning at some point in the future

I visited the UK on a business trip as well as travelling all the way to Mawnan Smith to visit my family.||We went to the hotel and the area looks so calming. We spent the afternoon and used the facilities. It was an awesome experience. The indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, the sauna all were good on Barnaby's watch.||James served our drinks with smile, Busi and Adrian were very attentive and always asking if everthing is good. Hamish and Marco were very friendly too. And on the way out was Ella who wish us at reception with a smile. The staff were all amazing!||We had the pizza and the food is very delicious.||I hope this hotel continue to deliver. I had a wonderful experience.

We live locally and have been coming here for Sunday lunch for a number of years. Today’s experience was extremely disappointing. The service was poor. Terribly slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. The attitude of some of the staff was poor. The food was cold. Probably taking far too long to get from the kitchen to the table. On a positive note the starter was delicious. Unfortunately it was downhill from there onwards. The Yorkshires appear to have been reheated. The one slice of beef was acceptable. The only gravy was pooled inside the yorkshires, tiny roast potatoes and a puddle of melted butter from the Savoy cabbage. After we finished our main we talked with some of the other guest and after they moved on we waited for more than 10 minutes for someone to come and take our order for dessert. Nobody came so we left and paid the bill. We were able to talk with the manager who listened to our concerns and appeared to take them onboard. We were offered a desert and a coffee but chose not to. As I said at the beginning we have been coming here for a number of years and sadly we are unlikely to return.
