Lovely location and rooms. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are tasty and freshly prepared. My only gripe is the hair conditioner and shampoo, it is lovely and minty, but it dried mine and my colleague's hair out. I had to apply copious amounts of the conditioner and by the end of the shower it still felt dry. The shower is lovely though!

Visited with friends to celebrate the New Year. A great hotel/spa/golf club situated on the Helford river. Great friendly service, delicious food in the evening and a good choice for breakfast in the morning. You can take a walk down to the river through the garden, where there is a small stoney beach. Or, you could walk along the coastal path to the local pub.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, warm and cosy inside and feels very welcoming. Only a 10 min walk down to the shoreline and the Ferryboat Inn. Room was very spacious and very clean. ||The only thing we could improve was the low water pressure dribble of the shower in our room. ||Overall a beautiful hotel with amazing staff.

Recently had lunch at the BVH. Have been visiting this hotel for years as we live local and love the Helford River. The outdoor terrace is a lovely spot for lunch on a sunny day even in the winter. However, this was our first visit since the new owners/management have taken over. I reiterate this was only lunch, we were not staying at the hotel. Unfortunately this latest experience will do nothing to encourage a return visit in the near future. We ordered a light lunch of turkey sandwich (as it’s Christmas season we felt sure it would be fresh turkey breast meat) a side of chips and a couple of drinks. Service was fine and polite however the food was of a very poor standard. The bread was cheap white sliced, packet reformed turkey and packet slices of cheese. The chips were the skinny frozen type. £13 & £6 respectively. Not at all the standard we have come to expect from the BVH. Why is this poor level of ingredients being allowed to leave the kitchen. A supermarket sandwich meal deal would have been superior. To top it off one of drinks ordered was a ‘half pint’ - this was mistakenly poured into a Brandy glass - yep you read that right. So in fact it was probably about a third of a pint. All of this was pointed out to the staff with little to no response. Although I was offered a small amount of lager in a separate glass to make up for the original drinks mistake! Really hoping this place gets its act together as we used to use the restaurant and spa regularly and on occasion stay the night. Not inclined to do so after our latest experience.

Long overdue break to reduce my anxiety levels health issues and the need for peace and quiet were soon met on arriving at BV hotel. The greetings at reception was friendly supportive and caring. My signature room was amazing- very warm and cozy environment plus a lovely walk in shower ( important to me a disabled person). |Unpacked and changed I was heading to the Leisure Spa. I really enjoyed my swimming, the sauna and the outside hot tub was amazing in the rain. BLISS!|My evening meals were absolutely delicious (3 courses) and the red wine was wonderful. Breakfast - self service and hot was available to order.|The restaurant was busy, but the peace and tranquillity was superb and the staff again friendly and welcoming.|I felt relaxed, batteries re-charged after my enjoyable stay at Budock Vean Hotel and I can wait to arrange my next visit.|Thanks to ALL THE STAFF.

We have recently had a cream tea, no choice of tea, 1 small pot of jam for 2 cream teas ( 4 scones)and we were made to feel a nuisance on asking for some more. The only plus side was the scones, very good. Sadly some of the hotel staff clearly have very little training in customer service, the exception being the reception staff who were very helpful. The lounge area is looking very tired, seating needs replacing. We had booked to have Sunday lunch but decided to go elsewhere, what a difference, good food, hot plates, well trained staff.

Wow!! Any worries we had about change of ownership were unfounded. Just had the most magical 3 nights at BV - food gorgeous, staff so wonderful (especially Wendy) so helpful and dining room staff couldn’t have been more charming. Spa area has been updated and I had an amazing hot stone massage. Well done to the new owners - you’ve maintained the ambience (although missed the canapés) and retained the charm. We will be back very soon!

A lovely experience, nice window table overlooking the golf course.|Decent 3 course lunch at a normal price for these days. Roast beef and nicely raised Yorkshire pudding Very good Lime Key pie to finish. Service and staff fine. |This is a nice hotel restaurant and will certainly visit again which is more than I can say for some of them in the area.|Parking was a bit tight as I guess all the golfers were there. Do not know what its like in the summer.
