Visiting from Texas! I would say its okay.... more of a sports bar vibe and not family restaurant vibe at all. The waitress we had was great and the drinks were good, but food wise it could have been better for the price!

My Birthday dinner was so good. I had the ribeye and mashed potatoes. We had oysters for the appetizer. The drinks were spot on. Compliments to the chef.

I’ve visited twice, first time I went to try their seafood which is poor quality. This time, I said, benefit of the doubt, let’s try their steaks. For the prices they charge, on both seafood and steaks, I think a little effort should be made. The seafood is flavorless even though they use a good amount of fillers for flavor. And their steaks, if they can be called that are basically choice steaks and the wrong cuts cooked at temperatures that aren’t even what the customer orders. Oh, and their kitchen helper garlic mashed potatoes need to be properly heated on whatever they use to heat or cook in their kitchen.

Very tasty seafood. Went on a Saturday evening. DJ and dancing which reduces seating. Bring dance shoes or ear plugs.

We got grilled shrimp plates and added octopus on the side. The grilled shrimp were really good, the chips & salsa were A1, and even the white rice was delicious! I would recommend getting the whole octopus instead of adding pieces on the side because it's much easier to overcook a single tentacle versus the whole thing. The refried beans weren't traditional, but still good. There was an issue with the way my order was processed. I spoke with the manager & he was more than happy to rectify the situation. I will definitely be returning for the grilled shrimp & delicious salsa.

Super fresh tasty sashimi tuna (spicy) and scallops! Solid michelada, more ice than I'm used to. Friendly service, lots of parking, some big screens. Great first impression. Welcome to neighborhood and keep it up!

My husband and I came in to try this restaurant for the 1st time based on the reviews, and we were not disappointed. The positive reviews were very accurate. We had the pleasure of having Guillermo as our server & he was the sweetest and most attentive. 10/10 service. And the food was flavorful and tasted very fresh.

Food was good. Price is a little high. Service is bad. When you pay for the bill you have to check and check and check. Might charge you something you didn’t ordered. I’m regular customer. But not anymore I’m too tired to talk about checking bill. Never missed.

Small casual place Located in the remodeled Marie Callender right in Florence with their own parking lot

The good: the food tastes good, it's not OMG, but it's good. My filet mignon was ordered well done, but came out burnt lol and dry. I'll stick to my usual medium well steaks. The margarita was good, but I couldn't taste the alcohol much so it made me wonder if it had the Don Julio in it or not. But it was good! And the rice and mash potatoes are good. Filet mignon $38 Camarones a la diabla $20 Paloma $16 Jamaica $4 Andddd let me tell you about the service Don't expect to be greeted when you walk in. They will look at you and no one will greet you at all. You just stand there and look confused until someone finally tells you that you may sit wherever you'd like. IT TOOK ABOUT 10-15 min for someone to come and take our order and there were two employees who weren't doing much. The servers here are not that welcoming. Our server, however; the only male server; was helpful and welcoming. I really didn't like that I observed one of the employees, who seems to be one of the owners or managers, had 2 guests at the restaurant come in and she served them only. They obviously knew each other. At last, she started helping others, and when we walked out one of the employees who wasn't our server and charged us, had little customer service, said bye to us and the lady that had the 2 guests at the restaurant looked away and looked bothered that the other lady said bye to us. Weird!! I notice all of that and I don't feel comfortable supporting a business with employees like that. OH, and tell me why our copy of our receipt shows a DIFFERENT RESTAURANT NAME! SO WEIRD

Was in the mood for seafood and drinks. Heard good things about Buena Mesa. Came in on a Saturday night. The place is lively and cozy. Nice decor and lights throughout the ceiling. Started of with a michelada and a margarita. Both were perfect. Also tried a Paloma and no complaints. For starters we shared fish ceviche. I prefer my fish diced but the flavors were good. By far my favorite was their Anaheim shrimp tacos with cheese. So delicious. My kids shared chicken nuggets and fish sticks. Don't sleep on their churros and ice cream. Very good.Our server Casandra was great. Super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning.

The food was great!!!! See photos. We will definitely return for some steak. Service was awesome, as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and seated. They took our order right away and served right away even though it looked like a full night. Ambiance was nice, it was full of different groups. There was a few families there celebrating graduations.

1st time coming here was 09/20/25 for a show, the workers were so kind, welcoming & attentive though it felt like crazy crowd going in & out the restaurant! Before the show I got to try their oysters and they were LOADED & SO BOMB !! Had a great first time experience with them hosting a local bands show and will definitely go back during regular hours to get some more oysters!

Food was delicious but portions are small for the price. The service was also not good. My husband and I placed our order. His food came out but at that point the waitress let me know they had sold out of the tacos I had ordered. I placed an order for something else. My husband finished his food before mine came out. Just disappointing. Music is also played way too loud. Some people like that, just not for me.

The place is deceiving from outside....once inside you will have freshest seafood and so well seasoned. Had their octopus in Chile- yummy. Their aguachile in green sauce - delight. The oysters were not my favorite but the Torres were amazing

If you haven't been here, make it your next spot. Food is always on point. Yes it's busy, but it comes with the territory. Purpose a la braza is my personal favorite.

We love this place, food as always was delicious! The pulpo tacos were amazing and the camarones momia are not to be missed! Great place to relax and enjoy dinner with family. Our waitress Elva, was really friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Didn't like any of the sushi plates Got 3, and out of those, none were good Tuesday is very slow

This is our go to place when we are in the mood for steak and shrimp. It is consistently good. Our server, Fernando, took good care of us. I'm glad to see that service has improved. We will be back.

Restaurant didn't look clean, no AC, seemed short staffed. Food was ok but will not come back. Owner there tending to his GF and friend, that is not a good look for business! Place looks run down like it's about to close down, many other better choices in Downey, go there instead!

Service was 5 stars, Lissette was our waitress. The tomahawk was slightly over cooked and lacked flavor. The fresh oysters were delicious. Highlight of the night was the avocado sashimi platter that came out as an appetizer.

They've had king crab on the menu for over a year I've gone back several times and they never have it on hand. Food is okay it's never really busy. Servers do not speak English

Both food and service were great, however, not very family friendly. We were there with kids and teenagers but the music videos and movies they were playing on the TVs were inappropriate for kids. We could have enjoyed the dining experience more if the contents played were more clean and kid friendly.

We had high hopes after reading the reviews but none of them prepared us for the smell of a recently defiled restroom as we entered the dining area and tried to sit down. It was nauseating enough to turn us back towards the door and leave looking for alternatives to odiferous E. Coli...get somebody else to eat it.

Didn't like the white rice, the Jamaica is so pale the food comes out very slow, when here with my family wasn't busy at at all one plate at the time was coming out.. can't imagine when is busy!!

The food is good. The only issue I have is the menu online offer cheaper prices than the menu they have when you dine in. Also they display a plaque that says specials n when asked, they said that's during happy hours so maybe they shouldn't display it if they aren't offering it because the sign doesn't indicate happy hours.

I randomly stopped by as I was getting my tires changed across the restaurant. I ordered one tostada de Camarón Crudo and it was amazing! I did not get anything else to eat or drink, so now I'm curious to try other foods. FYI: Food is a bit pricey.

Waited too long for food. Then the waitress gave my order away to another table. All she did was give me more tortilla chips to wait. Food not worth it. Little to no flavor. And this was on Valentine's Day. Ambiance was ok. Music and people eating, normal.

All the food here is great! A bit on the pricey side but a good place to go eat and listen to banda. Not a daily place because it is expensive.

When entering the parking lot the restaurant is the the right. There's plenty of parking. We were seated right away and checked on often. I ordered the shrimp a la diabla. Tasty however it wasn't nearly as spicy as other plates I've tried. So this plate would be a good order for someone that wants to try the spicy shrimp. The aguachilies tho omg so good! Very tasty, spicy, flavorful, I recommended the agauchilies as they were delicious. The restaurant itself isn't too big but they do have a full bar and they did have live music which was pretty cool for a Friday night.

They are still going strong with outdoor dining. Staff is friendly and the outdoor seating was clean. We came for the family size pescado zarandeado, but they only had the filet size. The flavor was different than traditional nayarit style zarandeado. The filtet was cooked in a bed of onions and bell peppers with a lemony mustard sauce, definitely not the taste we expected. The octopus zarandeado was very good, more of a chipotle flavor, served whole. Both dishes feed 2-3 hungry people easily. We also ordered the shrimp mojo de ajo, or shrimp with a garlic sauce. It was traditional with rice and beans and the flavor was phenomenal. They didn't do too much, it was basic and delicious. Shrimp was butterflied and shell left on for flavor. We also got the sashimi mixto, a plate of raw tuna, raw shrimp and raw scallops, sashimi style with a onion, cilantro garnish all sitting in a bed of their house sauce and a avocado flower in the center. The sauce was very strange to me, it didn't know if it wanted to be Mexican or asian. It was fusion like, but missed the mark. I would not recommend this sauce with any of their raw platters. Simple lemon agua chile style sauce would have been perfect. We also ordered micheladas and they were just ok for $8/miche. I would come back for the shrimp mojo de ajo all day!

They didn't have no straws, didn't have drinks, service was ass, fish was dogshit and wait time was long for a empty building I drove a hour an a half to have the worst night ever PERIOD REFUND is much needed back I ain't work hard for that . Thanks now you know.

Food is always good and tasty . Service is good . Never crowded . People are missing out on this hidden gem . If you want to enjoy a good meal and enjoy the company of friends and family this is the place .

I give the food five stars. It's everything else that ruined it. The music was too loud. The tables were set up cafeteria style. The waitress didn't know what she was doing. And the prices are gouged out, ridiculous! We paid $300 for a Tomahawk steak, an octopus, and 8 bottles of warm beer. We couldn't hear each other. The presentation of our meal was a mess. Never again!

I had heard this place was good and although I thought it was a more traditional Mexican Food place, I was not disappointed with the food. It truly is seafood and steaks, but mostly seafood. I has the shrimp enchiladas and my boyfriend had a stuffed fish. Both were full of flavor. The shrimp were not over cooked like in some places and both the enchilada sauce and the sauce for the fish dish were delicious.

I bring my relatives here regularly, and today I decided to try the bacon wrapped shrimp, the beans were very good and the shrimp was fantastic.

Excellent food, staff was super attentive, and we had a very nice dinner! The ceviche was delicious! Cannot wait to go back!

Service was Well. Cassandra took care of us. We tried the Torre especial. I enjoyed the sauce and shrimp that comes with it. We did not have room for more. We will be back to try the aguachile

Went out for a girls night, dinner and a show. IG said they had comedy night on a Thursday sign me up. We Ordered food and drinks. First fail my Makers neat came in a water marked glass. I didn't make a fuss but noted it. Ordered a Roll this is a seafood Mexican fusion restaurant so the expectation wasn't entirely high. To our surprise we got something that looked nothing like the picture on the menu. I asked the server about it thinking he had brought out the wrong order and he said that we had in fact ordered this, and that the menu needed to be updated new presentation. Not sure if this was true or not but we got stuck with this roll.. I was confused but didn't sent it back we were hungry 7/10 sauce was sweet tempura batter was heavy and didn't have a good texture. wouldn't order this again. Next up was the bacon wrapped shrimp. Shrimp were OK the double puddle of liquid beans and a super mushy rice pilaf was nothing to write home about 5/10 looks depressing a sea of brown. Ate the shrimp didn't touch the rest. Comedy show had a slow start but it picked up steam and was actually funny. The vibes were good Makers neat you can mess up unless it's in a dirty cup. I still ordered 2 more those were good. Service was Just Ok server checked on us regularly. Overall had a good time my friends are pretty cool but the food was sub par and not something I'd return for.

This place! Omg, love love love. Food was so tasty and presented well. You could taste the quality ingredients and all the flavors they packed in each bite. Wait service was nice, friendly and attentive of anything we needed. I liked the vibe of this place, it can be comfortable for lunch and dinner, maybe even birthday celebrations or a cute date. Its not too paisa paisa or crazily over priced lol, I hate that, but you get it. We had oysters, pescado zarandeado, their steak and mojarra frita. All of it was fresh and made to order. Con decirte que hasta el arroz y los frijoles estan buenos, ya... vallan! For dessert we ordered the cheesecakes, which were okay. I would pass on those next time.

I will begin on the positive side about this place: The fish tacos and the pulpo y camarón cóctel (shrimp and octopus cocktail) had good flavor. The octopus was very tender and the shrimp was bigger than what I've had in cocktails before. Now the cons: Service is horrible. Staff is not friendly nor attentive. No one came over to our table and asked if all was fine throughout the meal. The shrimp was not cleaned(deveined). My tacos were served in a very small plate, when I bit them food got all over the table. I don't think we're going to be back. Gratuity is according to the service provided. Needless to say, it was lacking here.

I can't rave enough about Buena Mesa. This place is such a gem. I haven't tried one thing I don't LOVE. The perfectly cooked and seasoned octopus keeps me coming for more. They have some authentic Sinaloa flavors (at the right price) that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. *chefs kiss* The staff is very nice and attentive. FYI- This place can be loud as there is a bar, loud music, and TVs, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! It's been a while since I've had it and wow! It did not disappoint! It's just as good as the first time I tried it! I had the Roca Shrimp and Raw Ceviche, it was so delicious and flavorful! The sauce on the shrimp was perfect. I took my order to-go and usually it taste different then when you dine-in vs eating it at home but, it was still just as good! They give you plenty of tostadas and crackers for the ceviche. Will definitely be returning and I highly recommend you eat here.

We have been ordering trays of shrimp ceviche and other catering from Buena Mesa for more than a year. We often call in an order for their small/medium charola for meals or even their large. Today, we ordered 2 of the small/medium trays for pick up--over $140 for the order--for 5 adults and anticipated leftovers. We noticed the trays seemed light and that they did not give us crackers or enough tostadas, but we left to meet family for our lunch plans. We were utterly shocked to open the trays and see them half full, light on shrimp, and soupy, with no avocado on top. We literally had to order pizza because we were all still hungry. The ceviche was barely an appetizer when we should've all been full and with with leftovers from what we know from previous orders. It was an utter rip-off, worth less than half of what we paid. My partner and I were literally making plans to come in to try more of the menu in the coming weeks--we're never coming back. Absolutely messed up how you served us today after ordering nearly monthly for so long.

This was my third time here. And everytime I've come, the food is fantastic. I come out on comedy night, so not only for a good laugh, but good food too. I really enjoy the ambience and everyone is very helpful. The owner really stays on top of everything. This is why it's great quality. The owner is involved. I absolutely love the bacon wrapped shrimp. It's so good. And all of the seafood is delicious. Very flavorful and juicy. The ceviche is great. I asked for the fried fish garlic style and they did it for me. My friend said that this was the best garlic fried fish he's had. You cannot go wrong on any of their food. The service on the other hand could use a bit of work. The servers that I've encountered are okay. I think maybe they were just a bit overwhelmed because it gets so busy. But it's worth it. I will continue coming here and need to try alot more.
