Buena Park City Manager

This review is for Darlene. I wanted to give a 5 star review for her as there were many questions about passport applications. I appreciate how she is knowledgable and has the best customer service. Overall, I appreciate when she consulted her coworkers to double check on things to give the customers a really solid sense of relief that forms will be processed with confidence. She is such an angel for really answering all questions and for really taking her time efficiently.

They closed from 12/24-1/6 but my water bill due 12/25/24. Couldn't even go get a receipt but I gps open or not it says open 7:30 to 5:30 Why so not managed well? All they need to do is to add that job to update gps so general public won't waste gas and time to go there to submit a check. If saddleback church can update opening hours why not city hall?

Didn't come for any services, but just came for the annual Elementary School Art show reception. https://www.buenapark.com/city_departments/community_services/cultural___fine_arts/youth_programs.php Very clean and nice city hall, the interior architecture looked great, but was closed off with access to just the Council Chambers where all the kids arts were displayed by grades. Some incredible creative arts from kids on display. Everyone from reception desk to all the council members there for the presentation were super friendly and great folks. There was individual pastry boxes from Porto's! at the end of the reception to take home to enjoy. Maybe I need to go back for the Middle and High school art show reception, which I believe is supposed to be in May. Can't imagine how great those art would be when elementary kids' arts were so amazing already. Wonder what happens to all these arts after the show. Maybe gets returned to the students? I think some of them would fetch some $ if auctioned off, especially if middle/high school kids make them:)

I went to this City Hall to renew a passport and get one for my child. It was incredibly easy scheduling the appointment. I did not have to wait, they saw me right away. Ralph was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to assist me with checking my paperwork to renew my passport that had to be done at a different location. Definitely recommend coming here to get a passport for your child rather than the post office. Was simple and easy.

Passport Services Made an appointment for 1:40 for passport renewal arrived and checked in at 1:30 by 1:50 I had not been called . A gentleman walks in WITHOUT an appointment and clerk gets up from her desk to help him helping him make his appointment explaining the entire process by this time it's now 1:55 so the 2:00 appointment has now arrived also. If I made an appointment and got here early why was a non appointment "helped " before I was even acknowledged I took time out of my work day . Furthermore , after waiting and getting the application done I then had to get in ANOTHER line to pay ! So another 15min wait. Will not be coming back here.

When I lived in Cypress, I would participate in some of the events and voting in Buena Park City Hall since we were next door. It was sometimes convenient for me to come here and handle certain government task and community material for the city. I was involved in some of the youth programs, to lend a helping hand to the community. I still return to take care of anything I might need done in the convenenience I might need something.

Customer service is great here. I had a mission but didn't know how to navigate through the endless fields of red tape to get a business opened up, but everyone was very helpful and thorough and aided me in getting everything handled with just 2 visits and a handful of Elias. Very much appreciated, everyone. Together, we got it taken care of. :)

Lisa was absolutely amazing and patient! She communicated through a super informative email prior to our appointment specific instructions but I somehow missed it. We showed up to our appointment with our forms filled out that we picked up at a post office. To all of our surprise the forms were expired but Lisa so patiently helped us fill out new forms. She made the process sooooooo easy and less stressful. She even gave my 3 year old twins coloring materials to help us keep them entertained while we refilled all of our forms. This process was so stressful leading up to this day but we were soooo lucky that Lisa helped us today. I can not say thank you enough! You are amazing! Ps. Make sure you take a check or money order for payment.

I got my passport done here and it went great! I did a walk in and Lisa helped me out and made it such a good experience! Thanks again Lisa for all the help!

This place never makes any thing easy I work my but off getting all the info for their forms arranged payment drove all the way to bunea Park from bellflower to turn it in mind youI had just visited this place the day prior to get the forms and the building desk just decided they are not working they are supposed to be off tommorw it says so on the website and when you call the info number but when I got here today a little paper said we decided to close sorry for any inconvenience wish you would have decided to tell me via the website are automated phone yesterday when I was there even what a load of BS when tax dollars pay your salary you better be open every day your supposed to be.

Went here to access some building permits. They save all their archived documents on a microfiche films! It was my first time using it and the machine was bulky and difficult to use/maneuver. The quality of the copies are terrible and you can barely read the original forms on the screen and after being printed! They even charge you 25 cents per copy. IMO not a service when you can't even read documents that you NEED to push a loan through refi. The associates were not helpful. They stare at you and wait for you to say something versus approaching you. Thanks for keeping all our records safe, but no thanks to the quality of customer service and archiving.

I would give 0 stars if it were possible. Horrible receptionists. Came in to donate 2 boxes of toys and the two girls in the front desk were more rude than helpful. They were even bothered that we interrupted their conversation! On top of that, after I tried to ask her where to leave the toys, she looked at us, pointed to the tree and continued their personal conversation. When we left she just stared at us as if we didn't belong there. No thank you for the toys, no happy holidays, nothing. I love to give back to my city, but unfortunately next year we will be donating to a different city hall. The building is very beautiful, but I am disappointed that these are the type of people that represent Buena Park.

This is a nice city hall, it's clean and has an open air feeling. I don't think anyone really likes coming to a city hall but this one is easy to navigate and the people working here are quite friendly. The Buena Park PD is right next door and I've had to pay a few parking tickets there and to cool off after paying I've walked around the grounds and the overall beauty of the place calmed me down... stop by and check it out for yourself if your ever near by.

Came here to get my passport renewed, which they have just started this service! The service they provided was excellent. They take their time to make sure that all the forms are filled out correctly, and make everything super easy for you. If you need any passport services make sure to stop by!
