This is not a service issue — it is a safety issue.
A late-night bathroom flooding incident escalated into aggressive and unpredictable behavior by the owner, including shouting, throwing his shoes on the floor, and using a kitchen knife to force the drain. This happened at night in a setting where we were unable to leave until morning.
Although not far from major attractions, the property is accessed via a narrow, unlit road with no nearby facilities. Without a car, leaving at night was not a realistic option.
The room had multiple issues: poor drainage, damp walls, broken furniture, insects on the bed, and extremely poor lighting.
The owner also behaved inappropriately toward our driver, dismissing her language ability, insisting on English despite she spoke Spanish, and questioning whether she was Chinese. The staff member he employed the next morning did not speak any English and communicated entirely via translation apps, making his earlier humiliation of our driver over language ability especially contradictory.
A refund was issued only after it was clear we were leaving. The apology was very brief and no explanation or accountability for the behavior was ever provided.
We do not recommend staying here.
