Buenavista Lzt. Country Suites

Our stay at Buenavista was truly wonderful. We spent three nights in Suite Lagari, a beautiful two‑storey apartment. From the upstairs bedroom we had stunning views over the vineyards and volcanoes. The apartment itself felt like an art project, yet nothing about it sacrificed practicality—every aesthetic choice was functional and thoughtfully designed. We also had our own private patio, with cushions provided in the suite. Complimentary water was always available in the fridge, and local wine and beer could be purchased for a small extra fee. The whole place was spotless and visually calming. Breakfast, delivered directly to the suite, was carefully curated and delicious. Because Buenavista is far from everything, it’s not ideal for travellers without a car—there are no restaurants nearby. But if you plan for that in advance, the stay becomes perfect. Staying in a country suite is a completely different experience from a large hotel. In the evenings you can sit outside, enjoy the silence, admire the starry sky, and sip wine. Communication with the staff was friendly throughout. We used Google Translator since we speak English and not Spanish, and everything went smoothly. The only small challenge was explaining a vegetarian diet, even though we had mentioned it in advance by email, but it was a minor issue overall. Buenavista is also home to two Labrador retrievers and two cats, so if you’re afraid of dogs, this might not be the place for you. A big thank you to the entire team. You made our holiday unforgettable.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle right by the wineyards of La Geria. Our villa was great and the whole staff super nice. We also met Gonzalo the owner and had a very pleasant chat and he even sent us a bottle wine to our villa on the house. The breakfast is one of the best we have had in a very long time and it is served directly to your villa-you can basically jump from bed to table without the need of tidy up or talk to strangers in the morning. If you want a break from the everyday hustle, this is the place!

BV Lanzarote Country Suites was an outstanding experience. Gonzalo, his staff and his wonderful retrievers provided a warm and welcoming stay. The property location is right near the wine area of LZ and close to Timanfaya NP, as well as the southern area of the island including Papagayo beach. The mid-century like design and solitude combined with the 5 star service (local wine for the room, Gonzalo prepared us an incredbile pasta dinner when we arrived late, the morning breakfast) was amazing, Highly recommended and plan to return!

This is not a service issue — it is a safety issue. A late-night bathroom flooding incident escalated into aggressive and unpredictable behavior by the owner, including shouting, throwing his shoes on the floor, and using a kitchen knife to force the drain. This happened at night in a setting where we were unable to leave until morning. Although not far from major attractions, the property is accessed via a narrow, unlit road with no nearby facilities. Without a car, leaving at night was not a realistic option. The room had multiple issues: poor drainage, damp walls, broken furniture, insects on the bed, and extremely poor lighting. The owner also behaved inappropriately toward our driver, dismissing her language ability, insisting on English despite she spoke Spanish, and questioning whether she was Chinese. The staff member he employed the next morning did not speak any English and communicated entirely via translation apps, making his earlier humiliation of our driver over language ability especially contradictory. A refund was issued only after it was clear we were leaving. The apology was very brief and no explanation or accountability for the behavior was ever provided. We do not recommend staying here.

The experience was extremely disappointing. When I checked in, I told the staff that I needed to take my car out and asked him to open the gate for me. He replied that he “didn’t understand Spanish” and forced me to communicate in English. I was already trying my best to speak Spanish, yet he still responded with a very rude attitude. What was even more unacceptable was that he emphasized, “I don’t speak Chinese,” even though he didn’t even know where I was from. This carried a very clear sense of discrimination. Such discriminatory behavior should never appear in any hospitality service. It is a serious mistake. The whole experience made me feel extremely uncomfortable, even disgusted. I hope the management will take this issue seriously, address the staff member’s behavior, improve service standards, and ensure respect for guests from all over the world.

We do not have enough good things to say about our stay at Buenavista suites!||Gonzalo was the most lovely and accommodating host. Each suite is designed thoughtfully to reuse materials (the property was an old abandoned warehouse) in a way that is industrial and incredibly chic. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we appreciated the small touches like local robes and high quality blankets. Each morning we took a delicious homemade breakfast that showcased local fruits. The location was perfect for touring La Geria and the local wineries, which was the focus of our visit to the island, but the central location would also be perfect for adventurers who want to explore any part of the island without extensive drive times.||Gonzalo was even kind enough to give us an impromptu tour of his small vineyard and hobby winery when we expressed interest! We will stay nowhere else when we return to Lanzarote.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our trip and we had an exceptional stay from beginning to end. We were greeted by the owner who took our luggage for safekeeping as our room wasn’t ready yet. He even called a local restaurant for us and made us a reservation while we waited too. Our room took our breath away, it was stunning! It felt so private & peaceful. The first night we enjoyed the hotel vineyard wine and watched the sunset from our room. The breakfast was exceptional, all brought to your room with local sourced ingredients and a changing hot option each day. The hotel even offers yoga twice a week which was great. Overall this hotel was truly impressive and great if you want to properly unwind in an epic location. ||I would recommend only staying for a few nights - only because it is quite remote and you will have to drive everywhere!

I spent a week there and Gonzalo and his team made me feel so welcomed and cared for. A wonderful starting point to recharge and experience peace and quiet but also to get many tips to meet Lanzarote’s authentic people and places. A beautiful and sincere project ❤️
