On the Grid : Bufala

"This pizzeria is nothing short of a warm and inviting atmosphere in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood.  This is a place where you can sit down with some friends and enjoy a few slices, accompanied with a few craft brews.  These from-scratch pies will melt in your mouth after being cooked to perfection in an 800 degree stone oven." - Elle Gassner

TLDR, great experience. We went here on a Sunday and they have a "two can dine for 49" deal. It comes with your choice of salad, garlic bread, pizza, and a tiramisu. The portions are very generous and all of the food tasted great (you can tell by all the half-eaten pictures). I usually eat for 2 myself so you can be sure the portions are more than enough, they also staggered the courses so we can enjoy each one. The pizza and the garlic bread were made right in front of us and you can taste the freshness of the dough with crunchy exterior and chewy interioir. The server was also very attentive and the booths are quite comfy.

Tucked away in the heart of Kerrisdale, this charming little Italian spot is a true neighborhood gem. The standout for me was the garlic bread—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and filled with gooey melted cheese. It’s comfort food done right. The pasta was another highlight: fresh, perfectly al dente, and coated in a rich, flavorful sauce that clings to every bite. You can tell it’s made with care and quality ingredients. The meatballs were tender and juicy with a great texture, though they arrived just a bit lukewarm. A little more heat and they’d be near perfect. Service was friendly and efficient, and the cozy atmosphere made it a great spot to unwind. With a few small tweaks, this place could easily become a go-to for anyone craving honest, satisfying Italian fare in Kerrisdale.

My favourite neighbourhood pizza restaurant! You have to order their olives and add their spicy olive oil. It's sooooo goood. And you need to dip all of your breads that comes after to the olive+hot oil sauce. I love it. I moved away from Kerrisdale but keeps coming back for their olives haha.

The pizza could have used one minute more in the oven, but was still very tasty. The salad was fresh and satisfying and the dessert topped off the meal nicely. Monday nights are half price bottles of wine! Would definitely come back again.

We don't usually go to italian restaurants specifically ones that focus on pizzas, we were excited to try out Bufala. The restaurant looks nice and our server was nice. We got a lamb merguez pizza and rigatoni to share between the two of us. My wife enjoyed the dishes but I found them fairly low in taste. They weren't bland but I expected something different especially for pastas and pizzas. We were provided three oils -- basil, parmesan and spicy. All three oils are good additions. The basil was pretty strong so be careful if you use it. It has the tendency to take over the dish. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. We would come back but try different dishes this time.

Very good margherita pizza. Decent prize point for the weekend happy hours. Tiramisu was good too. Great ambience, friendly staff. Limited vegetarian options, almost no vegan options. Overall a decent place for a good healthy lunch.

Craving a taste of Italy right here in Kerrisdale? Our happy hour at Bufala Kerrisdale was an absolute dream! From their from-scratch Neapolitan pies to incredible Italian tapas, every bite was pure bliss. We indulged in: - crisp lager, refreshing strawberry lemonade, - vibrant kale Caesar (loved this salad) - juicy meatballs (delicious) - out of this world: pepperoni & honey pizza that was out of this world. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, exactly to my liking. The unique blend of savoury pepperoni and sweet honey was an absolute delight, creating a flavour combination that I thoroughly enjoyed Don't skip their incredible house-made pizza oils (herb, chili, parmesan!) And for dessert, the tiramisu--wow! I am so glad I saved room. It was absolutely perfect: not too sweet, with a satisfyingly strong coffee flavour, and a wonderfully generous portion. The staff was amazing; their attentive and welcoming service truly made our dining experience relaxing and enjoyable. Happy Hour is on: M-F from 12pm - 5pm Weekend from 2pm - 5pm Already planning our next visit to explore their regular menu.

This time around had feature pizza and heirloom tomato salad. Pizza had luncheon type meat toppings so go for another menu pizza if looking for something less processed, but crust was good. Tomatoes just so so with stale bread croutons. The choice of olive oils was nice. It's probably best sit down pizza place in area with nearby free street parking which is rare!
