Buffalo Alice

We built our own pizza; it was delicious! We also got the garlic cheese sticks. The waitress was friendly, and the vibe was amazing! My ONLY complaint was that we were new and stood at the door in confusion on whether or not to seat ourselves or wait at the door. There was another couple also confused. Maybe have a sign that says seat yourself? That was the ONLY reason for 4 stars on service! Great job and great place!

It's a bar. They serve pizza. Out on a road trip and see that they claim 'world famous pizza' and 'one of the best pizzas in town'. I've had pizza in many different States and there is nothing special about the pizza here. It did have a lot of pepperoni, but the flavor was meh. Thin and extra crunchy crust. Our server was very friendly and the place is cool. Outcome...if you go for the drinks, eat the pizza but definitely not worth the time to go for the pizza IMO.

They play the loudest, shittiest music. It’s so loud in the bar, it will give you a headache. They also don’t ever answer the phone either and the pizza is mediocre at best. Unless you are absolutely hammered and want hearing damage, skip it. There’s better pizza two blocks away.

Was there with a group of about 20 people. Pizza is good with a variety of options available. Have been there multiple times as part of a group event or gathering and have always had a good experience.

Nice variety of pizzas to choose from. Cauliflower crust is great! Definitely worth a try. Nachos almost too basic. Very meh.. The group of us all agreed they should be revamped. We watched a few college football games there. Good to watch but not listen to games, no sound and music is playing. Still a great place hang out:)

9/8/23 What a cool bar! Stopped here for one round of drinks. Friendly locals and bartenders gave good pours. There is also a nice back patio. Can accommodate large groups as there are two connected sides for enjoying your libations. My photos don't do the place justice, it's a go-to-in-person kinda place......take in all the festive twinkle lights.

Good pizza and beer. They have a wide variety of local and national beers including five or six local breweries the night we visited. One of the best beer selections in the area. The pizzas are tasty and served on a thin crust. They also offered free popcorn the night that I visited that was a nice option for hungry consumers, whether they were young or old.

Sioux City famous for a reason. Come here if you want fun drinks and great vibes. They're famous for their pizza. You can't go wrong with either basic or specialty. The atmosphere is like no other in Sioux City. Can get very busy, so make sure to get in early to find a table! Even when they're packed full, pizzas still come out at a responsible pace

Great pizza! I'd recommend "the Isaac's" (taco pizza)! Love the popcorn starter snack, fun touch! This place is such a fun atmosphere, gets loud, but our 6 month old loved it, so many lights and signs for him to look at. Does get very busy though.

First time there Had great sauce and great cheese Not a thin crust guy but the more so had the more I like it Will be back to try more Great service nice decore to look at And sports tv to watch

Pretty solid, wings were not crazy high quality but could be worse, we got buffalo chicken pizza and it was good, would recommend-but it is pretty pricey

Food was fair. We had wings, nachos and pizza. All the food was just Ok. Cider was flat. Soda machine was broken. Water was clearly unfiltered tap water. Waitress was also just OK.

I ordered the biggest pizza because I had company. But the crust was hard as a rock actually! The topping all came off like there wasn't enough cheese. The drinks tasted fine but, they were the wrong drinks. Every, single, time! The waitress was nice so that's great. The bar its self gets packed on baseball nights and there is no seating after 4-5 when there is a game.

We got there right before closing. Service was great. We got a pizza to go and had a few drinks while waiting. They stayed a little late for us to make the pizza. The PIZZA. Oh my was it excellent. Best pizza we have had. Loved the sauce. Had a sausage mushroom with 1/2 jalapeño. Definitely recommend

The best place in downtown Sioux City for dinner and late night fun. Always super-busy, including on weekends. Located conveniently near my dad's office about 300 feet away. Parking is always full during these busy nights, so feel free to park in some nearby parking ramps that offer plenty of parking spaces available. This place has one of the best pizzas in the Siouxland area, and outstanding service, even when the restaurant is at full capacity. The place is warm, comfy, and nicely furnished with lots of memorabilia to make it a guest-friendly atmosphere. A must-go place for dinner for the heart of Siouxland and Iowa. Eat local, support local, and enjoy local.

The food is great but never reserve a space for a party the worst experience! Zero communication with the management and wasn't given enough room for our full party! Would have changed venues had I known the reservation meant nothing.

One of the worst pizzas I have had in my life. I should have gotten the frozen Hyvee pizza. The mushrooms appeared to be canned, not fresh. The sauce had no taste and the bread was super stale. But they were nice people. Couldn't believe this was even pizza honestly.

They have a strange way of making a pizza. I ordered mine with polish sausage & artichoke hearts and the pieces were way too big. How about taking the time to slice these up to distribute them throughout the pizza like a normal pizza shop? Don't just pull the ingredients out of a can and slap them on the pizza. The artichoke parts were about 1 1/2 inches long and some of the sausage was sliced 3/8 of an inch thick. Yeah it takes time to properly make a pizza but spend a few extra seconds and it'll help with repeat business. Also mine was supposed to come with alfredo sauce yet I couldn't taste it at all. I would have filled the void with the ranch they gave me however that is some of worst ranch I've ever tried. They said they purchase it already made. Nearly every restaurant spends a couple minutes making fresh ranch for their customers but that's too much to ask for here. The bartenders don't let you drink your beer in peace. They constantly hound you asking if you're ready for another beer WHILE THERE'S STILL BEER IN YOUR GLASS. The first time I was asked I responded "I don't know if I'm going to have another", which would indicate you don't have to bother me about it the entire duration I'm trying to enjoy the drink I already have. Unfortunately I was repeatedly asked. I can't blame her though-she, like everyone else, was very friendly with a positive spirit, it's just what the manager wants them to do. They can't even print out a current list of beers they have. The outdated list they have doesn't even tell you if it's a draught or bottle. If you're looking to fill an empty gut this place will do. Don't expect their main food item to be anything special. What they have good going here is the atmosphere & friendly staff.

Well over 6 months ago there was an altercation at a Bar down the street from Buffalo Alice. I was not directly involved in the fight but yet separating it. After the fight concluded my fellow personal left the establishment and the "best bartender" at Buffalo Alice came running down the street because her BF was involved in the fight saying we "jumped him" when the video surveillance proved that wasn't the case. Her BF ran to Buffalo Alice (which we didn't care we weren't going to that establishment we were actually leaving to go home.) she yelled "you better not go into Buffalo Alice my boyfriend is in there and the cops are coming." My response was " we don't give a fuck about your BF and if he's in Buffalo Alice. The best bartender then ran her mouth to the manager heather saying " walker said fuck Buffalo Alice." definitely not even the case what so ever. And since this happened I have been banned from the establishment of BA's. the people that were involved in the fight are aloud there but I am not because the "best bartender" doesn't know how to open her ears and the manager heather refuses to even talk to me about the situation. I've been going to Buffalo Alice for well over 10+ years for drinks, dinner , parties, etc. for Christ sake I had my USN going away party at this place. but this is ridiculous was way better managed when Tiffany ran things.

My husband and I love this place, we bring our grandchildren, and they are very family-friendly and have the best pizza.

Ummmm..... okay Sunday afternoon- walk in... quiet.... Nothing really going on----okay..fine....ordered beer- took a look at menu... bartender seems to b first week or day on job- no engagement- on tv is soccer (which NOONE in bar is watching)....no one is talking(except 3-4 people at end of bar that seem to b locals and 1 was employee)- it's August and there is no baseball game on?...and not overly friendly staff..... okay.... I am still in.... I'm hungry - all I want is a couple of beers and some food to go back to hotel. The pizza coming out of kitchen looked good- but wasn't in mood for pizza and traveling solo so thought wings would be the way to go.... WRONG- worst wings I have ever had in a bar EVER!! They were small and fatty... the sauce had ZERO flavor- and the bones broke apart (GROSS) ... they were AWFUL!!!! If this bar only wants the locals coming in to pick up their pizza- I get it- that is what you got! If you want to attract people that are traveling or new to area.....start with a friendly environment and staff.. continue with food that is edible- don't serve wings(or anything else if you don't want to) - if all you want to serve is pizza then DO THAT! I will be here all week and again next month but I will not be returning to this establishment.... Again their pizzas looked great.... But if you want anything else or a friendly bar for a drink.... Go somewhere else. If you want pizza, it might b your place!!

Been here twice and both times were amazing it has a bar vibe,Very good pizza, and a waitress where if you talk crap she talk crap back. And the best part was beer was 1$ on Saturday.

I was in town visiting family and we stopped in for lunch. Kallie was our bartender/server and she was tremendous. She advised the buffet was the best value and it certainly was. Incredible pizza and my first exposure to tater tot casserole. Both were very tasty and I would recommend. She also recommended drinks that we tried for the first time as well. Very knowledgeable and friendly service. Wonderful and unique atmosphere. Will definitely return during my next visit.

It's a nice place. I don't drink beer, but it's a great place for beer. Wish they had better 'deals' for people who don't. They have decent pizza. Not my favorite in town, but it isn't bad. They have amazing cheese bread. They also have wings and fries and such. I don't mind the place, but it's not my #1 place to go for pizza. It's always full of young people and the service tries to get you in and out as fast as possible. At least that's how I always feel. At least they have a happy hour now. I only come here when the group wants to. They're nicely decorated, but it's nothing special. Nice enough staff. Bathrooms are ok. Kinda small and half broken/dirty. Guess I don't hate it, but I don't ever think about going there either.

Buffalo Alice..or around these parts we call it B.A.'s. We are locals here, and this is a place we like to hit before concerts or to meet up with friends. One of the best pizzas here in town. Plenty of drink choices and the way the place is decorated is great!! The walls are literally filled with old CDs and signs. Go!! You won't be disappointed..unless they're full and you can't find a table. :)

Food is good but the service needs work. Sat down at the bar and the lady behind the bar said hi and walked away. I assumed she was not the bartender so I dismissed it and waited for the other person behind the bar... That person walked by and never said a word.. The original person who said hello, stood in front of me and said nothing. I asked her if she was serving and she said "yes". I asked if I could get a beer, menu and a towel to wipe off the dirty bar in front on me. She said sure, grabbed a towel, handed it to me and waited for me to clean it up before she took my order... Hum, speechless... 15 min later...just saw a cock roach, I'm out of here!!!

Ordered pizza from here. I was happy with it. It was loaded with toppings. This is a bar atmosphere. No frills. I would go back again.

This place is a visual feast that happens to sell a damn fine pizza. Buffalo Alice is not decorated in any theme, it's more of a museum that changed curators many times and forgot to start over. We had a bbq chicken pizza that was piled high and addictive. If I lived in Sioux City it would be a regular stop for food and would love to visit on a busy night to feel the energy and hang with the locals for some beverages.

Downtown Sioux City tornado sirens going off tornado on the ground so I thought I better get to shelter I go to the door of Buffalo Alice, there's three people inside, they have a basement there's nowhere else to go but Buffalo Alice's door is locked.. so in a life-threatening situation they locked me out of the only shelter in the area.. saw me and acted like I didn't exist..class act

My husband and I came here for our anniversary date (Oct. 4th). We had entered with high hopes of good food and good service. This restaurant had been recommended by a friends of ours. I can say that the food was not a disappointment and was amazing!!! However, the food service was very slow and they honestly didn't attend to us much after we received our meal. My husband and I were the only two customers for a majority of our experience and there were only two more groups that eventually joined us that same night. Needless to say, we could've been given much more attention.

Great decor and staff but the pizza tasted bad. It was equivalent to bad frozen pizza. Bummer as I was just in Sioux City for one night.

This restaurant will never get any of my money. I have been there twice and still never eaten the food. Both times I have been there, I sat at the bar. The bartender (not the server) got me a soda and never came back. The first time I waited for 45 minutes before I walked out. This time I only gave them 27. The server was covering her tables and doing dishes, but the bartender seemed like she was interested in doing everything other than her job. Today was not busy. Two staff out front serving six groups, only two had more than four people. When I walked out, the bartender didn't even notice. She was four feet away, talking to her friends.

BA's technically serves your typical bar food, but they are known for their pizza. I went with ground buffalo (you read that right), mushrooms, and green peppers. You can get the mushrooms fresh, not canned, and that was great for me to see. I really liked the crust, though my wife thought it was a little excessive on the thickness. Good sauce, fresh toppings, nice enough atmosphere, good hangout. BA's has a full bar for those interested, and boasts the widest assortment of beers in the area. The pizza is kind of spendy, with a 3 topping medium (8 slices) going for almost $20. It can get pretty loud and packed during peak times, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. One of my crew's favorite night time hang outs back in the day. The outdoor patio is a great way to spend a summer evening. Around Christmas time, it's a christmas-tree-light explosion! So festive - love it! It gets busy busy on weekends, but during the week it's can be a nice, quiet (ish) place to grab a drink and talk with friends. OH! And i almost forgot... be sure to get a slice of pizza at the end of the night. There's just something about the late-night pizza that helps prevent a hang over!

One of our favorite places in Sioux City. Great place that the locals hang out at too. We love their pizza with a generous amount of toppings. Great place to hang out with friends or to watch a ball game.

This is an excellent restaurant/bar. You should definitely add it to your list of places to visit while in Sioux City. Also, Tyler is the man! If you're lucky enough to have him as a bar tender, tell him we said hey!

The ability to choose your own toppings and the diversity of toppings make this a favorite place to get a pizza for me. My favorite add on is the polish sausage beyond that we load em up with whatever sounds good. Dont think the pizza has ever been the same as any of my previous ones I have had. I live in Yankton and drive to Sioux City for a pizza at BA's over going to Charlie's not that Charlie's is a bad place but I prefer BA's and by the time I pay for gas it's a wash in price.

I was in town with colleagues for 9 days (October 18-27). We stopped in here the second to last night and the pizza was good. I'd eat here again.

Great place for beer, pizza and wings. Good selection with a friendly staff. Also if your in bad company, you can just get lost in the atmosphere of this place. Lots of fun.

Buffalo Alice is an awesome Bar. The service is friendly- the atmosphere is very relaxed and fun. As far as bar Pizza goes, it's great! The crust is crispy on the bottom, the toppings are great, the sauce is very tangy. My only qualm is just SLIGHTLY too much cheese- the only reason i say this is because some of it was not entirely melted despite being well cooked everywhere else.

Bomb ass pizza, tons of drink choices, old school pacman arcade game, and an incrediblely nice waitress, made our short visit to Sioux city a great experience.

Pretty good pizza at a nice downtown location. Pizza came out not very hot, but had decent taste. Seemed a little short staffed, but bartender really hustled.

Their pizza is the best in Sioux City in my opinion. We go here often and its one of the first restaurants I'll take visiting family and friends. Pros: Awesome pizza and large beer selection. Great decor as well. Cons: Noisy and slow service. Sometimes they won't open the second half of the seating area even if there isn't any place to sit in the first half.

First timer. Happened to be in Sioux city for work and was looking for Surly on tap. This place had it so here I am. Decked out in Christmas lights on November 16th. Whatevs. Opens at 4, I got here at 430 and it was empty. Friendly staff and decent tap list. No complaints. Place is pretty big with 2 separate sides, each with its own bar. Plus I guess they have an outdoor patio in the warmer months. Prolly a fun place on a Friday night. Looks like the kind of place that gets loud and busy.

Being from the state of New York, well- known for its pizza, I'd be hard-pressed to find a more delicious pie here in Sioux City than Buffalo Alice. Besides the top-notch quality and taste, the vintage decor of their twin bar rooms and comprehensive selection of beers and liquors, this landmark establishment is a great reason to visit Sioux City, Iowa.

this place would get 5 stars because their pizza is really good and the options for toppings is awesome but..... the service is just awful. I have been here four, maybe 5 times during the afternoon and its just terrible(not busy either). For an example the last time I was in there was about a week ago and there was a table of about 6 people who were done with their meal and just talking, I came in and sat down saw the server walk by about seven or eight times....waiting....waiting...seriously about 20 minutes before she even acknowledged my presence......food took another 25 minutes ...remember no one is here (or ordering), the time before this i just left without ordering....so in conclusion BA's get your staff together and explain how a job works!

The pizza had fresh ingredients. The sauce was light and tasty. I will say it is one of the best pizzas I've had in Iowa. The bartender Gina was awesome and attentive. We always had drinks before our last ones were empty. I would definitely recommend Buffalo Alice's.

My team and I have been to Sioux City numerous times on business and Buffalo Alice was highly recommended on our first trip by a multigenerational Sioux City business owner. A centralized downtown location on historic 4th Street with great decor that gives you plenty to look at. Incredible variety of pizzas to choose from and the service was always exceptional. Whether we went there with 3-4 people or the few times we went with 8 or more people, we could always count on a great experience.

Pizza and beer whats there to complain about? Cool rustic place, not some chain corp. Laid back environment.

Pizza and wings were great. Great selection of beers on tap. Service was a "10". May be best pizza West of Chicago. Talked to some folks at the bar and they had sandwiches which they claimed were the best!!! They sure looked good. I'd drive a ways to get the pizza again.
