I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Buffalo Bill’s in Whistler on November 15th 2025 was upsetting enough that I feel it needs to be shared.
My group purchased VIP bottle service for approximately $2,000 and were seated in the main booth by the dance floor. I expected a fun, premium experience. Instead, what happened left me feeling deeply embarrassed and genuinely hurt.
When the bottle presentation began, the staff brought out a digital sign. At first, I was cheering along, thinking it was the usual celebratory display. But then I realized the sign featured my name followed by an insulting and degrading phrase. In the middle of a packed bar, with staff presenting it as part of the show, I suddenly found myself the target of a very public humiliation.
I later learned that someone in my group had requested the message as a joke. However, what shocked me most was that the bar’s staff approved and displayed it without any consideration for professionalism, boundaries, or basic respect for a paying customer — especially during an expensive VIP service. Most reputable venues have strict policies against posting personal insults, and I’m honestly stunned this was allowed.
I’m a three-time business owner, and I take my reputation seriously. Being publicly mocked in a place where I was a guest, spending significant money, was humiliating, and it genuinely impacted me. It wasn’t funny — it felt like a betrayal, and it was made worse by the fact that the establishment facilitated it.
I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and reviews their policies on what staff are allowed to put on customer displays. No guest should ever have to experience something like this, no matter who requested it. A bar should protect its patrons’ dignity, not publicly broadcast false statement and insults about them.
