Google
Cute little restaurant in downtown Whitefish. Great menu options with local style/flavor. We got there at 7:30, and open seating but they got busy fast. Had the breakfast. Fast service with a smile, food was delicious, good sized portions! Much better than hotel food.

Google
Nice cafe with great service and nice atmosphere. I recommend their “Buffalo Pie” (stack of hash browns, poached eggs, and choice of breakfast meat).

Google
I’ve come here on different days, and every time has been excellent. Breakfast was spot on fresh, hot, and flavorful. Came back another day for dinner and had the best bison meatloaf I’ve ever had. Consistently great food and friendly service. One of my favorite spots in Whitefish!

Google
This is a must stop! There is a reason this is one of the oldest restaurants in town. Service was friendly and accommodating, food was fantastic!!

I'm Yore Huckleberry!

Google
I have eaten here many times, usually for breakfast. You are often greeted warmly by one of the owners, Alex, who makes everyone feel welcome. Servers have been great, better than others in the area. Food is quality, portions solid, and prices competitive. It is bustling with happy customers. My wife is gluten-free and found plenty of gluten-free options, including gluten-free toast. We are hard-pressed to find a better breakfast place in the area. Loved it!

Google
So good we ate here twice in a day! We were recommended breakfast and burgers from Buffalo Cafe during our Whitefish stay and they did not disappoint. 1000% recommend the Bacon & Avocado Benedict, it was amazing. Our evening waitress Kellie was the sweetest person on the face of the planet. Great atmosphere too. We will definitely be back for more!

Google
Quick trip to whitefish for work and stopped in for a quick bite. The staff was incredible. My waitress was very attentive and super friendly. The food was delicious. I ate the sriracha honey wings which were crispy and flavorful. I also had the honey chicken sandwich. The crunch was amazing and the fries were legit. Super happy to have stopped by tonight!

Google
This was our first time in Whitefish and we stopped here for lunch. I got the soup and salad combo, which was excellent. My husband got the turkey melt. Very reasonably priced. Owner/manager saw me looking at a map and came over to tell us about the area and local hiking. We would definitely go back.

Yelp
Dale our server was so fun and engaging it just started the entire experience off positive. Seeing all the food fly by made our decision easy - we ordered parm fry's and burgers. The meat in the burger was so tasty and different. It had to be the area because it was flavorful and cooked right. Dale explained different local beers and how they support local farms. We loved the entire meal and experience. When we saw the milkshakes being served with a pile of whip cream we were so tempted but full. I could see why this place is a local favorite. This is a cute space too. Don't miss out on this experience.

Yelp
Excellent service. Comfortable atmosphere. Food was beyond excellent!!!! There is a reason the bison meatloaf and the stroganoff are under their favorites. Try them!! So authentic and flavorful. Comfort food at its absolute best! Also had a huckleberry shake......so yummy! Perfect dinner.

Yelp
This place was busy, busy and righteously so. The food was delicious and portions equivalent to the cost all in all it was fabulous. I think this has to be the best breakfast restaurant in whitefish. We tried the chicken fried steak and the steak omelette. They were absolutely delicious. Both plates were cleared. The hashbrowns that they served with them were so tasty and flavorful and were definitely not just an afterthought, They were part of the dish and super delicious.. . The eggs perfectly cooked The service was also great. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
If you ever find yourself up on the popular 3rd street in whitefish, this is definitely the place to be. Portions were immense, packed with flavor and the burger I got tasted amazing, looked great as you can tell from the picture and to top it all off the huckleberry shake made this place so much more worthwhile. Give it a try, the staff is friendly and inviting to tourists and locals alike, it feels like a cozy American restaurant. Love it

Yelp
Visiting town for a half marathon and worked up an appetite! We actually stopped by a different restaurant who was closing and suggested Buffalo Cafe. There was a short wait, about 5 min for a two top. They had a large variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items- breakfast served until 2. We both ordered breakfast, it was quick, fresh & tasty! We ordered two versions of the "Buffalo pie" (a hash brown specialty) which came with your choice of toast, a side of biscuits w/gravy and a side of french toast. I personally would have liked the hash browns more well done, but I also didn't ask for them that way. Service was excellent, we had a couple people check on us and offer coffee/tea refills which we really appreciated. Great experience!

Yelp
This is a cute lunch spot in downtown Whitefish! We stopped here for a quick bite after a trip to the bookstore, next door. We shared a juicy jalapeño burger, the light, fluffy bun is made in house ; loved the diced charred jalapeños on top the charred, juicy burger. The strawberry banana shake was delicious, it was a pleasant surprise to taste the fresh fruit with the creamy ice cream , compared to the fake syrups you typically see. I think we walked in at the end of their lunch service, but they were awesome and didn't rush us!

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast when in Whitefish. Usually pretty busy due to it's popularity. Have several great menu items and service has always been quite good.

Yelp
Great old-time breakfast spot. We waited about 20 minutes for our table before being seated. We both had coffee, and I had the Joe's omelette, while my wife had the Denver without ham. Coffee was very good, and service was great. Our cups were never empty. The Joe's was good, but the ground beef could've used more seasoning and flavor. My wife really liked hers. English muffins were toasted and pre-buttered. Hash browns were ok but nothing special The short stack of pancakes we split as a side were a little rubbery but fine in general.

Yelp
We came back for the second day in a row for breakfast. My companion went with the veggie scramble with extra crispy bacon and I chose Leslie's Buffalo Pie, which is a mountain of fluffy hash browns with sautéed veggies and cheese with poached eggs on top. It was a hearty delicious generous breakfast. Though to be honest, I'm still thinking about the Higgins Scramble from the other day. Friendly, neighborhood feel with nice people and great food. Hope to come back one day!

Yelp
Buffalo Cafe in Whitefish, Montana is a must-visit breakfast spot when you're in town. This place has become one of my favorites whenever I visit Glacier National Park. The establishment is beautiful. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is top-notch, providing wonderful service. I recommend getting there early as it tends to get packed, but trust me, the experience is well worth it. Don't miss out on this delightful breakfast spot in Whitefish!

Yelp
Great staff, great food and a cute historic spot. I went alone for a quick dinner and was met with friendly staff who took great care of me, got in my special requests and made me the best damn patty melt I've ever had. I think the most notable thing about this place is the fact that they bring in high quality ingredients from local shops (local bread, local meat) and they don't skimp on what the offer. My melt came piled on top of a the biggest heaping portion of fries I've ever been served as a side order in my life. The Parmesan fries were amazing and were worth the up-charge. I got it with a side of chipotle ranch and it came in a big side jar not a tiny dipper I would surly need a refill for. I'll be back on future work trips! Thank you!

Yelp
Great place for lunch or breakfast! The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. We ended up eating here 3 times on our short trip. Would definitely eat here on any trip to white fish!

Yelp
Amazing food. Fantastic service. Very busy, expect a wait but worth it. One of favorite Whitefish restaurants.

Yelp
This was my first time eating Bison and it was delish! A very tasty glaze and amazing potatoes and carrots.

Yelp
Small town cafe in Whitefish located in downtown near shops, restaurants and bars. Popular place for breakfast and lunch proven by the number of patrons waiting to dine inside. Upon arrival, if there is a wait, you register your name and number which you will get a text when the next available table is ready. Host is super friendly who graciously greeted us. Restaurant is pretty open and filled with a lively crowd of locals and visitors. Food was delicious, and our party of 6, all had breakfast including the Special on the board. French Toast, was buttery and savory. Portion sizes are ample and quality of the food matches the price of the meal. Staff was attentive, courteous and friendly. Overall, I see why this is a local favorite and I'm a Big Fan!

Yelp
I got an earful about the yuppie nightmare Whitefish has become before ever stepping foot in town so this review is with that in mind; This place is noisy and I don't generally care, but the acoustics are so bad it's hard to hear the person talk sitting next to you, or the waitress taking your order. The service was good, chatty, friendly and quick. Prices were better than I expected for a tourist town but then I realized they make up for it in small portions. Ten French fries with my burger was just silly. It's potatoes for gawd's sake Burgers were tasty, gluten free buns available but not a dedicated fryer, the fries tasted like fish and I reacted to the cross contamination. My fault, I know better but vacation makes a girl lazy with healthy choices. Be warned, the chicken spinach salad is (I can't remember the title) pretty much just spinach on a plate with some chicken on it and an uninspired dressing. My cohort had to ask for different dressing. I felt like another ingredient or two might have justified the cost. But we all had fun so I don't regret the visit. It's located amidst the cutesy shops you can peruse while you wait for the handy text from the hostess when your name on the waotlist comes up. On a Saturday it is certainly popular so plan accordingly. Parking downtown off season is easy enough and the atmosphere is super chill in general, but I'd plan ahead in-season when the town is full.

Yelp
Nice, clean, and orderly. Service was prompt and friendly enough. Burger was on the small side and forgettable, fries unremarkable. Prices not batshit insane but not a great value for what you get IMHO.

Jay H.

Yelp
Really good food, in a simple & clean environment. Locally owned, and it shows as staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Will return, as it's become one of our " go to" restaurants.

Yelp
A busy restaurant with a wait means it should be good.... Right? Well... it was worth the wait! Food was great and service was the same! A touch loud but is was full of people so it's expected.

Yelp
We got (2) Burgers! The one with figs was insanely delicious! And we got a special that had pepperoni and sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella! Both cooked right! Fries were delish! Staff was wonderful! We were stoked! Thanks guys!

Yelp
A very good meal at Buffalo cafe. Went in for brunch on a weekday and man they're busy. A 35 minute wait at around 1 PM and they close at 2. We eventually sat at the bar because we didn't want to wait any longer for a table but we didn't mind the bar. Ordered a pomegranate mimosa, Morning glory pie(with biscuit and sausage gravy) and Ketchum Buffalo pie. Both meals were decent.

Yelp
Buffalo Cafe is outstanding for breakfast! We were sat right away and loved the variety of the menu. Very friendly service and atmosphere for a cloudy Sunday morning on a holiday weekend. I had the ham, mushroom scramble with hash browns and wheat toast- that bread was fresh and multi grain. Perfect portions also. Great breakfast spot!
google avatar

Veronica C.

Yelp
Loved the Huck Cakes! There was a bit of a wait, but we enjoyed the food and experience.
google avatar

Yelp
We decided to stop by for lunch after a long flight. I ordered the turkey club with fries and it was good.

Yelp
Stopped in here while visiting Whitefish. Cute place. Great breakfast. Loved the ham browns. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Excellent service! Best onion rings, fries and burgers we had while in the area! Loved the atmosphere!!

Yelp
Buffalo Cafe has it down to a rhythm. The food is delicious and simple, just the way breakfast should be. We had the biscuits and gravy as well as the breakfast sandwich, both yummy and filling. The service was so welcoming, making you feel like a local and not just a random guest. The environment is buzzing with happiness and movement. Couldn't say more good things!

Yelp
Best breakfast in Whitefish! You have to eat at Buffalo Café if in town because it serves some of the best classic, breakfast items that's definitely worth checking out. I'm glad we found this place while in Montana. Before our second day of hiking around Glacier National Park, we needed a big breakfast, knowing it would be hours until we'd eat again. Therefore, we found on Yelp that Buffalo Café was one of the top brunch spots in town. We visited on a Sunday in the morning and there was a line outside the door; however, we only waited 15 minutes for the two of us. The menu had a lot to offer, with many classic breakfast items and beyond. My partner ordered the Stumptown Special, which was a plate of two pieces of French toast, two eggs and K.C. bacon while I had the buffalo pie special of the day, which was ground elk, hashbrowns, with sausage gravy on top and over easy eggs. Everything was delicious! Even the drip coffee. They use Montana Coffee Roasters, which was the best coffee we had while in Big Sky. And the food was super tasty. My partner loved his entrée and since he ordered his plate with K.C. bacon, it tasted more like Canadian bacon, so was more like ham than traditional bacon. I recommend! My buffalo pie special was sooo good! It was my first time having elk, and I thought the lean meat went very well with the richness of the sausage gravy and eggs. Plus, it was served on a bed of hashbrowns, which is a no-brainer that it's bound to be bomb! I highly recommend checking out Buffalo Café for a delicious breakfast before a day of hiking. They serve tasty food in large portions - and you'll enjoy every bite of it. I miss it already.

Yelp
The food here was amazing! The buffalo pie big Don was so good! Large portions and the service was also top notch! Waitress was very attentive and the food arrived quickly. A must visit for breakfast in Whitefish.

Kadi G.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service but food was "meh". Got a buffalo pie and asked for eggs over easy got two hard boiled eggs and soggy hash browns. Glad I attempted it but I couldn't eat my meal and wouldn't go back. On the flip side my husband got the burrito and was in heaven. Choose your meal wisely.

Yelp
Great service, great food and very clean. Worth the wait on a busy Sunday morning. The menu had a wide variety food choices and great coffee!

Sam S.

Yelp
Exquisite. From the friendly customer service, diverse menu, and fantastic taste. This place is a home run. Perhaps the best breakfast I've ever had. I will cry as I fly out of MT because I know another breakfast back home will pail in comparison.

Ann U.

Yelp
Amazing food, ambience, service, staff! Would definitely come back. Super delicious and cute!!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. I had breakfast with my sister there I had the avocado toast and she had The French toast. Everything was delicious. It was delivered piping hot, and her service was excellent. Oh by the way, really good coffee and they keep it coming. And, I feel the prices are about right. The place was packed and I think that's always a good sign as well. I will go back next time I'm in whitefish. You should give it a try

Noelle A.

Yelp
It's a small venue, so expect a wait. But staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good, as far as diners go. I wasn't blown away by anything, but nothing was lacking during my visit.

Yelp
Awesome service, chill scene and great food! We'll be back when in town again! 30-45 minute eat on a Indian Summer Saturday. You can thank me later.....

Yelp
We stayed in Whitefish while visiting Glacier Natl Park. Friends who used to live in Whitefish recommended Buffalo Cafe for breakfast. I am a breakfast fanatic and it was great! Very friendly and efficient staff, cute decor, located in the downtown shopping area. Food was exceptional and we came back 2 days later. Both times we visited were weekdays and they were busy. Small inside waiting area and benches outside. They took a cell number and paged us when table was ready. We strolled around and window shopped until table was ready. Our longest wait was 20 minutes but I'm sure that would change on day/time you visit.
google avatar

Don R.

Yelp
Breakfast is always a hit or miss proposition it seems, and this place hit for sure. Get on the list since there will be a little wait and walk to either the market or great book store right there and kill the time. Service was awesome and the food was delicious. We will be back for sure next time I drag my family into the great northwest.
google avatar

Alice D.

Yelp
There was a 40 minute wait at noon, but they will text you when your table is ready so you don't have to wait at the location the entire time! This cafe was so popular and packed for every hour until closing. But strangely, there was only one stall per bathroom for such a busy place! For brunch, my friends and I ordered the following: -Bacon and Avocado Eggs benedict (4/5): The flavor was great but the english muffin was very hard to cut through and was slightly soggy. -Huevos Rancheros (4/5): Pretty solid dish for the most part, but wished the grilled veggies weren't so watery and soggy -Kansas City buffalo pie (5/5): Perfect, bacon was nice and thick, and the poached eggs were soft and runny! -Chipotle chicken quesadillas (4.5/5): The quesadillas were SO good! I just wished the contents inside stayed inside a bit better. The side of fries was also super crispy and delicious!
google avatar

Caleb J.

Yelp
It was packed and for good reason. Red haired waitress was the bomb. Delicious food. I swear, every person in Whitefish was here.
google avatar

Carren R.

Yelp
Just when you think the Buffalo Cafe can't get any better! All summer here in Whitefish, locals feel neglected, annoyed and seldom can get into any eating establishment. I tout the Buff to all my Airbnb guests and when they get in they rave about the food and service as we all do! My niece was visiting and on Saturday morning and I thought how I would love to take her to the Buffalo but I knew on a Saturday even in September the breakfast line would be long....but then I saw a social media post with a picture of a known bridge to locals and if you said what the pic was-you would go to the front of the line! What a novel Idea! Supporters year round of this business were given an opportunity to get breakfast in front of those on their one time vacation. Thank you Alex and team for always being the go to eatery with the highest standards...oh and for remembering the locals. Buffalo Cafe=Class!

Yelp
A whitefish landmark restaurant that been around since 1981 or something with a solid reputation. Really cool ambiance and one of the coziest spaces I've ever been in. Service is always good. Have only been in twice, and one of the times (breakfast) the food wasn't memorable or special either time, but the second time for lunch it was much better. Usually a few minutes wait.
google avatar

Joe H.

Yelp
Elk tacos and bison meatloaf are phenomenal! The owner and staff are really down to earth. Must go for Whitefish!
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast, friendly staff and the manager goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and the kids are entertained while you wait!

Yelp
The Buffalo Cafe was a great place to stop for breakfast as I was passing through Whitefish on a road trip. There was a bit of a wait for a table, but I think that's an indication of how popular and good this restaurant is. It's located in what seemed to be the heart of a cool area full of restaurants and little shops, so it was fun to walk around and check out some of the local businesses while waiting for a table. I ordered the avocado and bacon eggs benedict. I'm always on the hunt for a unique benedict dish and this checked all the boxes. The bacon was crispy and delicious, the avacado was ripe, and the hollandaise was perfect and not too sweet. I ordered with a side of hash browns, which I'd definitely recommend.

Yelp
Traveling from Mississippi- We wanted to try something special to Montana- We had buffalo patty melts and they were very good! I had a huckleberry mojito- also very good!

Darcy S.

Yelp
Great food and customer service. They take pride in serving their community and guest and it shows in everything they do.

Morgan D.

Yelp
Really good food! We got the Mac N cheese and chicken, both were great. Our server was nice as well.

Kim M.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Outstanding all the way around. Would highly recommend eating here!
