Yelp
Best breakfast in Whitefish! You have to eat at Buffalo Café if in town because it serves some of the best classic, breakfast items that's definitely worth checking out. I'm glad we found this place while in Montana.
Before our second day of hiking around Glacier National Park, we needed a big breakfast, knowing it would be hours until we'd eat again. Therefore, we found on Yelp that Buffalo Café was one of the top brunch spots in town. We visited on a Sunday in the morning and there was a line outside the door; however, we only waited 15 minutes for the two of us.
The menu had a lot to offer, with many classic breakfast items and beyond. My partner ordered the Stumptown Special, which was a plate of two pieces of French toast, two eggs and K.C. bacon while I had the buffalo pie special of the day, which was ground elk, hashbrowns, with sausage gravy on top and over easy eggs.
Everything was delicious! Even the drip coffee. They use Montana Coffee Roasters, which was the best coffee we had while in Big Sky. And the food was super tasty. My partner loved his entrée and since he ordered his plate with K.C. bacon, it tasted more like Canadian bacon, so was more like ham than traditional bacon. I recommend! My buffalo pie special was sooo good! It was my first time having elk, and I thought the lean meat went very well with the richness of the sausage gravy and eggs. Plus, it was served on a bed of hashbrowns, which is a no-brainer that it's bound to be bomb!
I highly recommend checking out Buffalo Café for a delicious breakfast before a day of hiking. They serve tasty food in large portions - and you'll enjoy every bite of it. I miss it already.
