I haven’t had the food but if it’s anything like the dance floor and bull riding then it’ll be a 5/5. The bull riding is only $10 (bring cash) and the dance floor is a lot of fun, great music, lots of people if you want to dance, great DJ. The bull riding is awesome and fun to watch and competitive. I love the pre bull riding prayer. Parking is difficult but it’s all worth it. It’s free to get in. If ur under 21 you have to come w people who are 21 and you are kicked out at 1030

Went to the rodeo which they have on Wednesday and Friday nights, and it’s bull riders only. This is a really cool restaurant/bar/rodeo Arena. The food here is mediocre and they won’t let you substitute anything at all on the menu and the food prices are kinda high. Otherwise, the buffalo chip is a really awesome little place.

Went to Buffalo Chip for the first time with my boyfriend and had such a fun time. The atmosphere was lively, the music was great, and it was the perfect place to just let loose and enjoy the night together. We laughed, and made such good memories. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to with friends.

If I could give a 10 star on atmosphere, I would!!! This place is epic... where can you go listen to live music in the front of the house, head out back for line dancing... or if you are really feeling your oats, sign up to ride a live bull 2 nights a weeks. This place is F.U.N. all day, every days.

Had a great time in the VIP area. Lucky to have that spot because the rest of the place was so crowded. We had all you can eat buffet and a private bar. Service was great up there. Rodeo was fun. Bathroom situation needs improved. One bathroom for hundreds of drinking patrons. Lines were insane. Otherwise we had a great time.

Really busy and bustling! Lots if people packed in, so if you don't like crowds this is not for you. Parking is difficult. Waiting for a wristband to see the rodeo may be long depending on when you get there. Get in line early! Food is decent, but we we all know we are here for the bull riding.

Went on a Friday night to see rodeo. The place was packed! Definitely a younger crowd in the bar/dance area. Bull riding was fun but mutton busting was awesome! Key- they do take reservations so call ahead. We had to wait for a table to open up.

Rustic rodeo Western vibe which is cool if that is what you're looking for. Food was very average in our mid-afternoon experience. They have a photo booth with their branding on it. Horrible quality, clearly something is wrong with it. We showed the photos to our waitress and asked for a refund of the $20 we spent. She acknowledged they've had problems with it but thought it was fixed. She went to talk to her manager and said there's nothing they will do. So $20 wasted on photos that are absolutely useless.

Been coming to this place for years with my family and we love it! Food is great and the bull riding is so much fun!

Not sure how I lived in the Valley my entire adult life and only went to Buffalo Chip last month, but here we are. I went on a Wednesday to watch the bull-riding. What I found what maybe the liveliest spot in town. People of all ages were cheering on the riders (kids have to leave after a certain time). I ordered the BBQ buffet, which gave me a ridiculous amount of good food for $24. In between bull-riding rounds, a band plays inside, so you're never bored. I was very pleasantly surprised how much fun I had, and I'll be back.

This place is such a trip, really fun for a good ol' country night out! The bar staff is quick so even when crowded, it's easy to get a drink. The decor is on point and makes for excellent pictures. When the live band is on, the dancing is fun to watch or participate in! A must see is the amateur bull riding, which happens every hour or two after 7. The kids ride sheep too - it's a blast to watch! Only downside is you'll need cash for the $10 cover and if you want to get a drink in that area, so come prepared.

We finally made the trip out to Buffalo Chip and wow -- this place is pure country chaos in the best way. It's a bit of a drive (the whole area feels like a Wild West movie set), but once you're there? Totally worth it. They've got line dancing, a full BBQ buffet, and yep... live bull riding. You can even sign up to ride one yourself if you call the morning of (seriously). It's also family-friendly -- kids can ride sheep, which is equally adorable and hilarious. Food-wise, I was pleasantly surprised. I had the brisket sandwich with fries, and my partner got the burger -- classic bar food done right. Nothing gourmet, but everything was hot, flavorful, and hit the spot after a few rounds of two-stepping. Pro tip: Get there early. It starts filling up around 7PM and parking can be a mess. If you want a table, definitely call ahead -- they were all reserved by 6 when we got there. If you're looking for something super fun, offbeat, and very Arizona? Buffalo Chip should be on your list.

Honestly the bullriding was so amateur (but I am biased because I'm from Montana and go to PBR) but not worth waiting in line for an hour to go. The show was only 30 min, it was too busy to move or walk. They really should cut off people of have a cap-- it was too busy to sit or get food in under an hour. Overall, not worth the wait although granted, I realize it was Friday night after Christmas so probably a busy time for them.

Today many people attended the Celebration of Life for their friend, Holly. The family made many presentations as we all learned how much she was loved and admired. Funny and sad stories. It was quite warm even under the covered area. Lunch was served after the talks. Beans, rice, chicken, meatloaf, sausage, ribs and more. The open bar was busy. It was a nice tribute to a wonderful person. Parking lot was full!

A hopping bar and dance floor for country-loving folks! If you come on a Saturday night like my friends and I did, you'll find lots of people on the outside dance floor rotating between line dancing and two step. A lot of people know all the moves which can be intimidating, but there's also plenty of people who are brand new to line dancing, too. Buffalo Chip is a good environment to hang out with friends and talk to new people. You can ride the mechanical bull, talk by a fire pit, order drinks, sit down either in the inside or outside bars and seatings areas, or dance! This is definitely a trendy spot as it's always packed with people of all ages every weekend. I've never tried the food here so can't comment on it. There is a free parking lot and a parking overflow lot.

What a fun place for the whole family! Service and atmosphere area top tier, assuming you get here before 8pm. The food was okay, but I was told you come for the drinks and the rodeo. My kids enjoyed the kids meals, but the bbq buffet meat was very dry. There are live bands and a dj to dance in 2 different dance floors. The rodeo is all ages, but kids need to leave by 10pm, which means you'll miss the 3rd and final rodeo round. It's only $10/pp and cash only, so it wasn't a big deal to miss the last round. It's mostly novice riders, but still a fun time. We will definitely be back, for the great atmosphere. TIP: Make reservations for a table a week in advance, and arrive by 5:30 to get your rodeo ticket/bracelet at 6pm. They sell out each time. A huge line forms after 6pm.

Let me tell ya!!! This is the place to be!! Great company, cold beer and country music. The service was amazing the girls were so sweet!! Can't wait to check it out on a Friday night.

I was in Phoenix for work and wanted to meet up with a friend who lives there but wanted to do something fun and different. This was definitely that! We got some brisket nachos... which were ok. The place, inside and out, is very spacious. But the bull riding? That was so much fun to watch. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. I would love to come back the next time I'm in town for work.

Buffalo Chip is cool, like super cool, but Jody?!? He makes a typical Friday night one for the books. We flew off the bull left and right, up and down, all around. If you are thinking of buffalo chip, first, think of Jody, then, think of what a night you will have! The chip would be nothing without him (Jody) and if you visit and miss him? What a wild ride! When I think of Western bar with everything you want, this place is it! Was so happy to hang at this place, that felt true country. They have line dancing, couple western two step dancing, a mechanical bull, real bull rodeo, and western food. The ambience is amazing. My suggestion is to enter the east side and go early to find parking. Once you get there, they will ID you as it is a bar, and then from there I suggest to grab rodeo tickets right away. Entry for rodeo means you can see all shows that day, but you will have to wait in line. Three shows a night, but make sure to check the calendar and website. As for food, it was good, but not the top. I am comparing to Austin Texas BBQ, and this was not nearly close. Nonetheless the food was decent. If you can, I suggest to go on a weekday as it will be less crowded. It is super popular, so tons of people are there. I really can't wait to go back. I want to take all my friends out of state here and my date for sure! Great place for a date, especially if you want to dance with them. Just make sure to wear your cowboy boots and go on a weekday!

What a great institution! Great food great atmosphere. Griffin is scared and loves the cheese curds.

We love coming here with kids as they have an open area and, if you come at the right time (not peak hours), kids can run around and play befor/after I eating. This trip was especially excellent due to our server Callista H. She was sweet, kind, was able to keep track of 6 kid drink orders (I wasn't even able to! ), and was so patient with us. We were a party of 8... 6 being kids ranging from 3-10. She showed the kids how to woke the horse out front, was able to offer recommendations, got our orders correct.. it was amazing. She is incredibly sweet and deserves to be recognized for excellent customer service! The food here is also quite good. My son enjoys the fried chicken. We had the brisket, sausage and burnt ends. We also ordered BBQ wings, tator tots, fried okra, and some kids chicken tenders and fries. The kids chicken is great as they are not flattened, but are nice, thick tenders. The ambiance is nice as they have indoor and outdoor areas.

Visited this spot with a group of coworkers and boy did we have a time! It's a nice outdoor spot with bull riding real and mechanical as well as as line dancing classes. We visited on a Saturday night so we only had the choice of the mechanical bull riding which was 100% OK with me ha ha ha. Line dancing classes were happening when we arrived at seven and we joined in. They have various line dances for a variety of songs. I got the brisket sandwich and was thoroughly impressed. The brisket was soft and well seasoned and the fries were tasty as well. Drinks seemed to be a little watered down. Took off one star just because it was super hot and maybe it might be a good idea to invest in misters especially because it gets packed and summer nights. They did have a few fans on the actual dance floor which everyone flocked.

Came to Buffalo Saloon to unwind and have a good time, but left feeling disrespected and baffled. One of the staff members assumed I was drunk and tried to kick me out--completely unwarranted because I was the DD.... I wasn't intoxicated, wasn't causing a scene, just actually trying to convince my friend to go home because it was getting late. There was no conversation, no clarification, just immediate judgment. If this is how they treat paying customers, especially without any real cause, I won't be coming back--and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who expects basic respect.

First time to Cave Creek. Looking for live music with good crowds and dancing. Great ambience, drinks, entertainment and fun!!!

We had a late dinner here on Saturday night and it was pretty busy. We were told to pick a table and someone would be right over. Our server was busy as it looked like he was the only one manning the tables. He came over, dropped off menus, and took our drink orders right away. To eat we ordered: Cheeseburger with fries Fried Chicken (4 pieces per order) with fries Grilled chicken sandwich with fries Side of potato salad Side of mac and cheese Order of fried pickles The food didn't take too long and everything was brought out together. Portion wise, these plates were big and everything was delicious! My burger was big, juicy, and cooked perfectly - medium well. My moms chicken sandwich was flavorful and the added poblano pepper gave it the extra yummy kick. My sisters fried chicken was soo good. The chicken was crispy and had great flavor. The fried pickles were soggy so we didn't care for them. If they had been crispy they would've been great! The sides were delish. The mac and cheese had a nice spicy kick and the potato salad was prefect. The french fries were hot and crispy, yumm! The server was attentive and refilled our drinks. He checked up on us a few times and all was great. There was live music playing, people dancing, and everyone was in great spirits. Overall we had an awesome time and I can not wait to be back!

Came here on a Friday night and it was pretty insane but we knew what we were getting ourselves into. It's a bit of a scavenger hunt to find an open table but when you do the staff move in quick to serve you. The appetizers really can feed a table and the prickly pear mules are delicious. They have country music and line dancing and live bull riding. Watching the mechanical bull riding was also VERY entertaining.

Ambiance, food, service and bull riding are amazing! Just be prepared for the crowd and busy ness of it all. Really cute western store next door too!

My friends and I have been coming here for years so I thought I'd plan a nice birthday party for my sister who turned 40. We got dropped off here by a party bus and security was fine but one employee decided to let us know that if we got out of hand they would be kicking the whole group of us out and that there was no fighting allowed. Seemed strange to me as your walking in to have a good time, eat, and spend money. Every other time it was welcoming. Weird flex, even another employee had to step in and tell this one to chill out, mind you It was 5:45 pm the place was empty. We are all 30-40 somethings. It was like they didn't even want our business right off the bat. I was immediately put off and already had it in my head we would grab one drink and then move on to literally any other bar on the crawl. Folks were hungry and decided to sit down. Even the waitress was not very receptive as if they have been stiffed many times. I know later in the night the crowds can be way younger but really need to learn how to read your customers better and not carry that same energy day to day. Especially when there so many other options just a few feet away. So thank you Buffalo Chip for starting our night out in Cave Creek with a bad taste I will probably not be returning not that anyone cares.

The best of the best , I love coming here for bull riding or for the Packers game ! They also have so much energy!

I have been to this place numerous times and love the ambience but had an absolutely horrible customer service experience here tonight with both security and the owner. My friends and I decided to use the Photo Booth and saw that it cost $10, so we put a $20 in and had our photos taken. We were never given any chance, and there was no sign anywhere that said that is required or that there was no change back. The staff gave us no apology whatsoever and acted as if it was our fault, when there was no warning anywhere as to there being no change available. We checked specifically before putting in the $20 to make sure there was no disclaimer that we needed exact change. An employee who we know believe is the owner spoke to us and told us that there was a sign that said it was not an ATM and did not give cash back. When when we asked her where it was (as we had already checked for this), she brought us to show us and was unable to show us one because there isn't one. Without any warning that there is no cash back, it is not OK to accept $20 bills and not give them back. There was absolutely no apology from the staff and only rudeness. Please add a warning sign to prevent this in the future. Money that was intended to be spent on drinks and food was instead given away for free because we were not warned in advance and the business responded extremely rudely. This was not on us and was negligence on the business' end.

Must stop if you are in the Phoenix area! Only a 30 ish minute drive, very authentic fun western theme. Cave creek is a gem in general so make a trip of your experience. A full buffet of bbq, and the bull riding is an adventure to watch. It can get crowded so get there early, pack your patience and prepare to walk for parking but it's worth the experience

What an amazing experience Buffalo Chip has to offer for residents and visitors alike. We reserved a balcony for this event which is an absolute must if you want to have that VIP experience. The food was amazing too. The bbq buffet was really good. The meats were moist and flavorful. Their fish and chips, which had 3 different kinds of fish was delicious too. But honestly, we were so engaged in the bull/sheep riding show, we didn't pay too much attention to eating. The bull riding was really exciting. It was my first time and it's really different from watching it on video. They also offer mechanical bull riding. It was hilarious to watch little kids riding the sheep too. We plan on going back when we have out of town guests. Highly highly recommend!!

This is a place you definitely should check out if in north of Phoenix. It's a BBQ restaurant that has Bull riding on Wednesday and Friday nights. They have a good beer selection and the food is pretty good at good prices for this area. The rodeo arena is small and intimate with seating right by the grounds. We were here on a very rainy Friday night so it was super cozy with everyone huddled up under overhangs. The crowd was families and young groups as well. It got a little more rowdy as the event went on but it was all in great fun. I had my 9 year old daughter so because of her age we had to leave after the first go round but I gotta say it was so worth every penny... it was just a fun filled night! Only 1-2 of the 12 riders made the 8 second ride but it is more novelty but good enough to make it exciting. I encourage you to take your kids - awesome family experience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It has been several years since we have been to Buffalo Chip. Actually, it was before the original burned down several years ago. It has come a long way and a lot more things have been added. It was crazy crowded when we went so wasn't really our thing. But I can see how it would be a good time for people who like crowds. It's definitely a happening place so if you're looking for that, I would give it a five.

Very fun time ! Really interesting set up for a bbq / bar / dance hall / rodeo !! Honestly it can be an enjoyable time and the service is great, there are lots of nice people up that way.... But when it gets busy it is absolutely nuts and really not something I could go to often. Definitely worth the check out if in the area!!

The friday nights bull riding is insane. Great environment, music, patriotism and bull riding. The atmosphere is energetic and the bbq food is outstanding. Great family entertainment.

Went to Buffalo Chip for the first time and know we found a new favorite. Our waitress, Reagen, was fabulous. She made terrific drink and meal suggestions. The music was fun and we enjoyed watching everyone dance. Next, we look forward to going back for bull riding!

This place is dangerous and run poorly. Avoid it!!! I have been going here for years and I have never seen anything like this. I was standing at the bar waiting for a drink. When the bouncers approached this young man who had just sat down. They asked him for the chair he sat down in and he said one second let me finish my call. Immediately they grapped him and assaulted him then proceeded to drag him out side. I could hardly believe my eyes. Suffice to say I am never going back and I told all my over 21 adult children to stop going here it's dangerous. I just recently attended my friend's celebration of life here with over 200 people and I'm telling you after what I witnessed yesterday I would not step a foot in this place. I hope that kid goes to the police. He should file charges.

This was hands down one of the most disappointing meals we've ever had. The food came out ice cold, like it had just been pulled from a refrigerator. After sending it back, we waited almost an hour for it to come out again, only for it to be dried out and nearly inedible. Every single dish was awful--the brisket, pork sandwich, platter, burnt ends, and chicken sandwich were all a complete miss. The only thing worth eating were the biscuits, which says a lot. The service was the only redeeming factor, and our server did their best, but even after complaining to the manager we were still charged almost full price for food that should never have left the kitchen. A measly 10% off felt insulting considering how bad the food was. What makes it worse is that we had a great time here the night before, which is the only reason we came back. Big mistake. This time was a total disaster, the kitchen clearly didn't care, and management didn't do enough to make it right. We left feeling ripped off and angry. We won't be back and can't recommend this place to anyone.

The NY Steaks were tough and awful. The sides are worse than a bad bbq joint and the wait staff are arrogant and lack manners... The exception was a sweet waitress named Torie. But our 133.00 bill was outrageous for crap. The doormen are rude slobs. What a name for the perfect depiction of poop disguised as food. . NOT worth it - Come to Texas where cattle ranching is an art and finished in a high quality served steak !

Absolutely unacceptable behavior by the staff. We were out with a group of friends when my boyfriend tried to avoid a giant puddle outside by quickly stepping across a bench that wasn't in anyone's way. Instead of handling the situation with any decency, the bartenders physically attacked him. Three staff members ganged up on him, violently threw him into a puddle, ripped his shirt in half, and punched him in the nose--leaving him bleeding and completely shaken. I had to physically intervene to stop the fight, and somehow we were the ones kicked out. There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of unprovoked aggression from bar staff. This was a disgusting display of violence and unprofessionalism. If your staff can't de-escalate a minor situation without assaulting a customer, they have no business working in hospitality. We are appalled, and deeply disappointed. No one deserves to be treated like this.

Very popular spot in cave creek, if you want to get a ticket for the rodeo show make sure to go early. We weren't aware you needed tickets ahead of time, they are $10 cash only. Only part of our party was able to watch. We did get to try the mechanical bull, which was $5/ride which I thought was reasonable. This place did get VERY crowded as the night went on.

Used to go here all the time when I was younger and it was awesome. It's changed for the worse. Last night I drove my sister and her friends there for her 21st birthday. We were there about 20 minutes and the girls went to the bathroom and I was holding their drinks and 2 guys came up to me and kicked me out for being "too drunk" when I was completely sober. They poured out my sisters drinks and wouldn't let me go find them to tell them or close the tab I had for them. Complete joke. Bunch of woke roided out losers in skinny jeans now. Used to be country boys. But don't worry we went over to Harold across the street and had a great time.

Everything is always the best at Buffalo Chip!! The service is friendly and fun! Always a great atmosphere!! Highly recommend!!!

I want to start by saying the food at Buffalo Chip Saloon was fantastic, and the service was just as impressive. Even with the extra crowd for bull riding, our server was attentive and friendly, and my family enjoyed every bite of our meal. But as we were leaving, our experience took a shocking turn. My two toddlers were each holding a lemonade I had purchased for them, and as we walked out, a bouncer stopped us and insisted on taking their drinks away. This was after two other bouncers had already seen us with the lemonades and said nothing clearly, they saw no issue. My children were visibly thirsty, especially since we had to park far away and faced a long walk back to the car. The bouncer claimed it was because of open container laws, but these were plain lemonades for toddlers, with absolutely no alcohol. Watching my kids, hot, tired, and now denied even a sip of their drinks was infuriating and deeply disappointing. Buffalo Chip, you need to reconsider how you treat families and children. There was no reason to take away a child's lemonade at the door. You turned what was a wonderful evening into a moment of unnecessary distress for two little kids.

Live music during the week. Didn't eat there. Just went for music and drinks. Wasn't very busy the night we went.

Despite the pushback I got at the door for my I.D (i'm 24 years old) this was a great experience. Experiencing bull riding in Arizona is a fun, Western activity, especially at night. The drinks were good and the crowd was really into the riding.

The ambience is definitely cowboyish.... Live music was great - learning to line dance was hilarious and the food was average. Servers attentive but think I was expected more....not a bad experience but overall good.

This place is SO FUN! Truly an old-western vibe - the entire venue is indoor/outdoor vibes. We came in winter and the dance floor was heated and nice and toasty! So much dancing, and people will really walk up to you and ask if you want to dance. There's also plenty of line dancing opportunities if you're not in a couple. I didn't see any food being served, but there's a full bar and plenty of free water on the side.
