"Located in Buffalo’s booming Theatre District, Buffalo Proper is a great place to stop before or after a show. Guests can look forward to nearly 30 specialty cocktails, plus seasoned bartenders ready to mix all the classics. Favorites include the BFLO Bramble (vodka, blackberries, mint, lemon) and the Bare Knuckle Boxer (whiskey, lemon, honey, and strawberry), but there’s also beer and wine should cocktails not be your thing. While the two-story, lofted space is massive, it fills up quickly on weekends, so go early to secure your spot at the bar or one of the high-top tables. Then, put in an order for your favorite drink, along with elevated bar fare like Japanese-style fried chicken, white bean burgers, and grits with crème fraîche and cheddar."

Oh so proper.. proper drinks, proper service, proper atmosphere- a must to visit, great cocktails. Danny is our favorite to see, really everyone is great but we especially enjoy seeing Danny and absolutely love the cocktails. Hair of the Dog used to be on the menu but to this day I still order it because it’s fantastic and a must to try!

If I'm ever in Buffalo again, I'm coming back here for a kimchi pancake! It came with the beef and I wish there were more of them. Crispy, a tad spicy, and full of flavor. The monkfish dish was also superb. This is such a cozy feeling bar. The service was fine - we sat in the bar area, so not much attention, but that was fine for us. The cocktails are worth the visit as well.

Food and cocktails were very good. They would have gotten 5 stars from me, except for the problem with our reservation. They comped us champagne and a cheese tray, which was nice.

Beautiful restaurant and bar. We started with drinks at the bar. The bartender took the time to talk to us about what we liked and wanted, and shared a lot of details about the liquor we were drinking. The upstairs dining room was cozy and intimate. The menu is small but varied with lots to try if you are a foodie. I had the whole fish and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked, served with a couple of well thought-out sides. They were very accommodating of our large party (with a reservation) and willingly offered separate checks.

The best whiskey and cocktail bar in Buffalo hands down. Would definitely recommend! Great prices also. Very on-par with the rest of the nation's major metro cities as far as quality and selection.

The food and drinks at Buffalo Proper are fantastic! I would highly recommend the roast chicken. The staff is super knowledgeable and helped us order drinks based on our preferences. I can’t wait to go back again.
