Bugis Fish Head Steamboat

Just had my reunion dinner with my secondary school friends + teacher here yesterday! The food and service were excellent. Special shoutout to the Nanyang Fish and Mongalian Pork (5 STAR DISH), other dishes were sumptious as well. There is a great variety of food on the menu. Would love to try the Fish Head Steamboat next round - it smells so good. The crabs and other seafood are also good choices (can’t wait to try next time). Service was excellent, they helped us store our cake for celebration and even helped us coordinate it. The staff were all very patient and professional in helping us throughout the dinner and taking our photos. Price was very reasonable as well for somewhere central and convenient. Definitely worth the money. Would recommend everyone to try it out and would definitely come again!

Google and found this place with many postive reviews and decided to try with my mum. I reach there around 4plus, many seating available, was served by a lady from the stall, and begin introducing the most popular food.. she is very detailed and give suggestion to add noodle to the hokkien mee. Cos we want to share and try so that can order more dish.. overall is nice and cheap. No Gst and service tax. Will support again. Nearby MRT is jalan besar mrt walking distance 6mins.

1. 4Feb26 lunch - came here after reading reviews on Hokkien Mee Hunting FB group. Can use CDC vouchers! I would give the Fujian Hokkien Mee $6 a 4.5 stars rating. Portion is ok, style is on the dry side with noodles leaning towards al dente, chilli taste is good, ingredients decent, pork lard nice and crispy. The broth gravy is lacking though - not so flavourful, and I didn't feel the wok hei. Overall quite satiating though. They have some less commonly seen individual portion dishes like Teochew Cai Pu Kway Teow, which I would like to try next time. Around 5mins walk from Jalan Besar mrt and 16mins walk from Bugis mrt. 2. 26Feb26 - came with my hubby today. Hokkien Mee is slightly wetter today, and broth more flavourful than in my first visit. Beef sheng mian is nice and hubby slurped up all the gravy. I asked for red chilli padi in black vinegar to go with this dish and the kway teow. Teochew cai pu kway teow came with some meat and 2 prawns, and the server will ask if they can go ahead to toss it in front of you. I have only seen this dish at Teochew restaurants, so it's nice to be able to order it here. Staff are friendly and efficient. Ordered and spent: Fujian Hokkien Mee $6, Beef sheng mian $7.50, Teochew cai pu kway teow $7. Paid $20 with CDC vouchers, $0.50 in cash.

Just come here for the hokkien mee. Hokkien mee was not bad taste wise actually, pork lard was also fresh. But in my opinion the chilli was unfortunately not suitable for hokkien mee. Fish head steamboat was bad. From the pic already looks unappetising. Fish was also not fresh and super fishy. They only have the unfried version. If u are confident enough to serve the unfried version then the fish better be super fresh. Soup was also like bland and only tasted of pepper. Had high expectations given the name of the place but was left disappointed and with fishy breath. There was aso a roach running across the table mid meal.

Taste is not bad! Portion a bit small for the horfun and noodles Horfun 4/5 Hokkien mee 4.3/5 Fish head bitter gourd 3.9/5 - a bit dry Sambal sweet potato leaves - 3.9/5 - sambal not the best Salted egg pork rib - 4.5/5 - nice! Some pieces a bit tough Coffee here is nice. However iced kopi c cost $2.7. Shall go for hot next time

5 stars for cai por hor fun, very yummy and has nice wok hei. Came to this place from fb recommendations on the hokkien mee. Hokkien mee is average. I appreciate the pork lard, it's very crispy. The BBQ squid is quite tasty too. I will come back for the cai por hor fun

Came here for Fried Hokkien Mee after reading some reviews. Interesting that a Zi Char store got famous for HKM. The dish was tasty, the wet type, with lots of pork lard. Generous with ingredients for the price. Parking was easy with a multi storey carpark just next to it.

This zhi char–style Hokkien Mee comes in a wetter version with a prawn and pork bone broth that coats the yellow noodles and bee hoon well. The seafood is fresh, the pork slices add a nice depth, and the sambal with calamansi brings the flavors alive with a spicy, tangy kick. However, the broth leans thinner and the noodles don’t have that signature sticky, gluey consistency that many Hokkien Mee lovers look for. Instead, it eats more like a plate of white bee hoon in gravy, which may not satisfy those expecting the rich, starchy cling of a traditional version. Overall, a hearty dish with fresh ingredients, but better suited for those who enjoy a lighter, soupy take rather than the classic gluey wok-fried style.
