Builders Arms Hotel

Had such a great experience at The Builders Arms Hotel. The food and drinks were truly excellent, and the space has a really warm, easygoing feel without trying too hard. What really stood out though was the service. I’m coeliac and have had some pretty rough dining experiences elsewhere, so feeling safe matters a lot to me — and the staff here absolutely nailed it. They were knowledgeable, clear, and thorough about allergies, and struck that perfect balance of being attentive without hovering. Ben in particular was fantastic. It was such a relief to relax and actually enjoy the meal without worry. Will definitely be back.

Half a Chook Tuesday We went along to the special night and were presented with a beautifully cooked chook that was tender and had flavour. Considering the number of people that also rolled up this was a credit to the staff. The service friendly and atmosphere a bit rowdy but thoroughly enjoyable! How else would you like your pub?! It was busy so I suggest you book. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Builders Arms is the classic pub food, but elevated. i know people that love this place! when you eat here, the first time it’s 👌 and then the next time it’s either 🤩 again or 😒. of course, it’s a pub and not a restaurant. i would highly recommend the whipped cod roe dip if you come here for lunch or even a snack. it’s truly amazing! i’d come here again, the 3 star is only because i’m comparing to my four and five stars. nice food, nice people, nice pub. would come again.

Excellent food and a great beverage list. Staff on for lunch late Thursday 27/11 were extremely helpful finding us a table and assisting with working our dietaries with their matrix. (Lady) head chef on was lovely to us too!

We’ve been to this restaurant a few times now, and every visit has been consistently great. The burgers are absolutely delicious juicy, flavorful, and always paired with quality chips. The Cos salad is my go-to side fresh, crisp, and perfectly dressed. The steak is also impressive, cooked just right and full of flavor. The service really stands out too; the staff are well-trained, friendly, and make you feel welcome every time. Highly recommend!

Food was outstanding especially the salads and the fish pie. Menu was a bit limited but the shared starters were very tasty.

I’ve been coming here for a long while now but unfortunately I’ve eaten my last meal at this place. Table service is gone, I don’t mind so much except for the fact that they still ring up the tip screen on every transaction. Why am I tipping if there is no table service? For you to bring me my order? Isn’t that the basic function of the job? $80 for a steak and it comes out well done. Only a hint of pink. You have no business serving steak at $80 well done. Whatever nice piece that may have been once was not nice by the time it reached the plate. Sky high prices, lowest possible service and the food quality has dropped but the prices haven’t. I find this pub is a victim of its own success so it’s time to take my business elsewhere.

Everything was good. The standout dishes were definitely the focaccia and the anchovy on toast. The burger was pretty good as well. I was recommended the seafood pie, but it wasn't really to my taste. The steak was alright, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to order it again. The starters are definitely a great choice here.
