Buiten Verwagten

Buiten Verwagten will be our first port of call in Graaff Reinet from now on. I hope they will be around for a long time, because it really is the ideal place for a short stay. The rooms are beautiful, with their high ceilings, lovely beds, elegant period finishes and all the amenities you might need. The gardens and swimming pool area are perfect for relaxation. The owners/managers do a superb job. They are excellent hosts. No complaints (except maybe blackout curtains for the rooms with street-front windows?)

We had a very enjoyable stay at Buiten Verwagten Guest House. Lizelle is an excellent host and was very welcoming. The room was very comfortable and clean and there's a lovely garden and pool to relax in after a long drive. It's the ideal place for a short stay in Graaff-Reinet.

This place is exceptionally well located and safe. Within a tiny walking distance is all the beautiful old buildings of Graaff-Reinet as well as the lovely Pioneer's restaurant. Host is incredibly friendly and breakfast was lovely. The house was built some time in the 1800s and great care seems to have been put into keeping it looking pristine and preserving the feel of that era. Rooms were comfortable; my only criticism is I felt the bathroom grouting could likely be cleaned a bit better.

We stayed at Buiten Verwagten in the main house for one night. It was a beautifully decorated room with very high ceilings. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The host is very friendly and helpful, and serves a delicious breakfast. The old vine in the garden is really impressive. We can recommend staying here.

This Guesthouse is a true gem. Lizzie and Andre are absolutely fantastic hosts and are so friendly and outgoing. The venue is really beautiful and historic, with so many relics of the past. The breakfast is also terrific, with a wide variety on offer. Restaurants are close by for dinner and it is very central.

Stunning character filled house. Wonderful host. Walking distance to authentic Karoo restaurant. Warm inviting pool! We had no complaints at all. Our breakfast was delicious. Would definitely be visiting again.

We were well looked after from the moment we arrived with bookings made by Lizelle at recommended restaurants.Our unit had two rooms with an air conditioner in the main bedroom and direct access to the patio and swimming pool. Breakfast were delicious and service excellent.

We stay at Buiten Verwagten Guest House for a night on our way to the coast. It has lovely, clean and spacious rooms. Also great service. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
