Bukit Lawang Tour

Best tour ever! The 2D1N tour exceeded my wildest dreams. We were incredibly lucky and saw 13 orangutans and also many Thomas’s langurs, pig-tailed macaques, hornbills and a Peacock-Pheasant. The wildlife and jungle were exceptionally beautiful and everyone at Jungle Trek was incredibly kind, helpful and fun and clearly cared about the wildlife so deeply. Our guides Kian and Alwii went above and beyond to help us see as many animals as possible and never made us feel rushed. The trek was tough going at times but they were incredibly patient and encouraging and made sure we spent as much time as we wanted with the animals. We felt super safe and supported throughout the trip. Once we arrived at the camp, we had an amazing shower in the stream surrounded by stunning jungle and then had a huge dinner by candlelight - all the food was delicious, a big thank you to chef Danny! The camp was clean and comfortable and we slept surprisingly well under our cosy bug nets. The rafting back to town on the final day was so much fun and the perfect way to end an adventure packed few days. The tour company also organised a transfer for us from Medan airport to Bukit Lawang - Mooklis was the friendliest and loveliest person and a very safe and careful driver. A huge thank you also to Rifan who showed us to our very remote hostel on the first night, we never would have found it otherwise! Thank you so much to everyone for an exceptional couple of days and for taking such great care of us, we had the best time and we leave with memories for a lifetime!

Had such a great time on our 2 day, 1 night Orangutan trek tour! We ended up seeing 12 different Orangutans! Our guide Randy was amazing, you could tell he really cared about the Orangutans and other animals and he gave us lots of information about the national park, the animals and the surrounding areas. He also made it really fun and we had so many jokes over the two days. The food which was prepared by Dani was amazing as well! Some of the best food I’ve tasted in all of Indonesia and there was so much of it to go around! Definitely recommend doing the tour with this company

Had an amazing experience for 4 days 3 nights in the Jungle with Ian, Alwi, Anto, and Randy. Saw all kinds of flora and fauna for the first 3 days (we were lucky) and sped through the river at the end as we were pressed for time for our flights. Amazing food and location for camps for all days and nights and informative guides. 5/5 would recommend.

Haikal was an amazing guide, on our 2 day 1 night jungle trek! It was one of the most incredible things. We saw 6 orangutans in total up close and they were the most beautiful animals to see. The food we had was GREAT, and our camp by the river was magical. Thank you so much to the team, it was an amazing experience.

I did a 3days2nights jungle trekking tour with Bukit Lawang Tour. We were lucky with the weather and with wildlife encounters, we saw lots of orangutans (with babies) and many other types of monkeys, as well as the occasional lizard and turtle. Our guide Olki and the guide trainee pitu were full of energy and always watched out for monkeys, providing us with fruits and evening entertainment. The campsites are situated at very picturesque places next to the river and the food was great. A highly enjoyable adventure is the tubing back to Bukit Lawang on the third day along the jungle river, which includes some mild whitewater passages. Dieki from the organizational team was also very helpful and they organized my transport from the airport to Bukit Lawang as well as the onward travel to Banda Aceh. I like to mention that the driver Moglis was very nice, spoke English well and provided me with lots of information about the island.

Totally a recommended tour if you visit Bukit Lawang👍 Our experienced Indonesian tour guide, Randy, is very accomodating, friendly and humble. He shows and explains everything during our trekking hour and follows our pace to make us feel comfy. I would really recommend Randy for your jungle trekking experience👍

We had an amazing 2D1N tour with Bukit Lawang Tour and were even lucky enough to be the only people on our day so effectively got a private tour with our brilliant guide Kian! In all we spotted about 12 Orangutans during the trek, and were never rushed when we spotted one which allowed us to take some great photos. I think every tour from the area follows the same route and all the accommodation at camp looked the same, but the price of Bukit Lawang Tour was by far cheaper than the other, so I don’t see any reason to go with another company! The trekking can be tough in humid conditions, but if you’re lucky enough to spot orangutans it is definitely worth it. You are very well fed throughout the trip thanks to chef Danny and the tour company even arranged transfers from Medan airport and to Beratsagi with our brilliant driver, Muklis. I’d definitely recommend booking through this company if you want to do an Orangutan trek in Bukat Lawang!

Great Jungle Trek in Bukit Lawang! We had an amazing time doing the 4-day/3-night semi-wild trek. We saw lots of animals, enjoyed beautiful nature, and had a great group experience. The food was way better than expected, and camping by the river (with the chance to swim!) was a real bonus. Our guide Angga was fantastic – fun, knowledgeable, and always professional. Highly recommend trekking with him! The accommodation before and after the trek was simple but totally fine. For those looking for something more extreme, there’s also a “wild trek” option where you go deeper into the jungle and build your own campsite – definitely not for everyone, but worth knowing it exists. Thanks for the unforgettable experience!
