"Buley Rockhole, Litchfield National Park Just upstream from Florence Falls, the Buley Rockhole is probably the most fun travelers can have in Litchfield National Park, maybe the whole of the Northern Territory. While not as impressive as Wangi Falls since it's a section of river where cascades dump into deep pools, Buley Rockhole encourages sunbathing like lizards, pool hopping until you find the best hydrotherapy massage, cliff jumping (only if the water is deep enough), and sliding down a range of bumpy water slides. This place is sure to make you feel like a kid again."

This place is a gorgeous little waterhole and has a series of small waterfalls that you can lounge in. The rocks are smooth due to the amount of water that flows through, but this also makes them very slippery! Be careful! The carpark is a decent size, there are toilets and change rooms and there are covered tables and chairs. The Ranger was present and blowing down the seating area - good to see someone patrolling and maintaining the area. There are camp grounds, but you do need to book online to stay the night and I think you may need a permit to access the park, please check the NT Parks and Wildlife site to double check and see pricing. It's been a few years since I was last here, but we are already planning our next day trip!

We always love visiting this place though it could get very busy as the water is beautiful and refreshing.

One of my most favourite places on this planet! Take your bathers & towel & enjoy the cool tumbling waters. I also recommend taking an esky with drinks & picnic (no glass & no smoking allowed) & make sure your sun smart. There's a few local water monitor lizards around who like to check out your stuff/eat leftovers & then join in for a swim so be wary as they can bite. It is a natural waterhole, so other wildlife are also known to join. Leave them alone (it's their home, not yours!) & give them the space they require. There are no bins here so please respect the land & take your rubbish home. Enjoy!

Buley Rockhole: Nature's Perfect Playground for Winter Weekends If you're searching for the ideal spot to shake off the winter chill in the NT, look no further than Buley Rockhole. This natural wonder in Litchfield National Park is a game-changer for family outings, especially during the cooler months. Buley Rockhole is a series of cascading pools that seem custom-designed for family fun. As the Top End's winter brings milder temperatures, these crystal-clear pools become the perfect place for a refreshing dip without the summer's scorching heat. The terraced layout of the rockhole creates natural jacuzzis and shallow areas, making it suitable for all ages. Little ones can splash in the gentler pools while the adults soak in the deeper sections, pretending they're at a fancy spa (minus the hefty price tag and plus the occasional leaf floating by). Pack a picnic and claim your spot on the smooth rocks surrounding the pools. Winter's gentler sun makes outdoor dining a delight rather than a sweat-fest. Just remember to pack out what you pack in – Mother Nature appreciates tidy guests. For the explorers in the family, the surrounding bushland offers plenty of opportunities for short walks and wildlife spotting. Keep your eyes peeled for colorful birds and the occasional goanna sunning itself on the rocks. The best part? Unlike some of the Territory's other attractions, Buley Rockhole is easily accessible. No need for a 4WD or Indiana Jones-style expedition to get here. Just a regular car and a sense of adventure will do. Pro tips: - Bring water shoes for better grip on the rocks - Pack snacks and plenty of water - Don't forget your camera – the scenery is stunning - Arrive early to snag the best spots, especially on weekends Buley Rockhole proves that sometimes the best family memories are made in nature's own waterpark. So grab your towels, slap on some sunscreen (yes, even in winter), and head out for a day of splashing, relaxing, and reconnecting with nature and each other. Remember, in the Territory, winter is just an excuse to enjoy the outdoors without breaking a sweat every five minutes. Buley Rockhole is waiting to become your new favourite weekend tradition!

This is a must visit place. Easy walk from the carport. The water is crystal clear. Take care when walking over the smooth rocks in the water as there is moss growing on them. Around 1hr 40 minute drive from Darwin on good sealed roads with lots to see on the way

Nice location, very busy but that was bad timing as a tour of 20+ people arrived before me. Get there before 11am to secure a great water hole!
