Bullen - Två Krögare

Had a lovely experience at this local Swedish restaurant. The Swedish meatballs were the highlight, tender, flavorful, and served with rich gravy that tasted comforting and authentic. The sides complemented the dish perfectly, and everything felt freshly prepared. The ambiance was welcoming. Service was friendly and attentive. It’s a popular spot, so I highly recommend making a reservation to secure a table. Definitely worth a visit! 🇸🇪🍽️

Without a doubt, the best place to enjoy Kötbullar in Malmö. Everything was spectacular, starting with the service; the attentiveness and friendliness were with us throughout the entire meal. As for the food, we started with their fish soup, which left us speechless and wanting more. Luckily for us, the main dish, Kötbullar, arrived soon after. The meat, the sauces, the mashed potatoes, and the pickles… everything was perfect and incredibly delicious. The restaurant's aesthetic and ambiance are also noteworthy. Authentic and welcoming.

Lovely little spot in Malmö, Sweden. I had the lunch special, which was salmon in lobster sauce with some shrimp. The salmon was absolutely amazing, probably the best I have had in a decade. It was moist, flaky, and absolutely delicious. The lobster sauce was excellent, and the shrimp had a very distinct shrimp flavor (and not in a bad way). The potatoes were perfectly cooked, flaky, and flavorful. The one thing which was less than excellent was my wife’s mashed potatoes which were somewhat gluey, although still very tasty. My wife’s Swedish meatballs were very tasty, almost pillowy, instead of the dense chunky things you get in the United States. The gravy was also very good, and the lingonberry compote which accompanied the meatballs was just amazing. The desserts were also excellent; the crème brûlée, had an amazingly thick layer of caramelized sugar with tasty custard underneath. The apple cake was moist, tasted distinctly of apple, and the vanilla sauce was also fabulous without being overpowering.

For the starter, Silltallrik plate with Västerbotten cheese, shared for two. For main course, paired a Falco Svart Lager with Kalvköttbullar with a whisky cream sauce and mashed potatoes. The beer paired well with the sauce on the veal meatballs. I will be back. My friend ordered the fish soup. I think these were the best Swedish meatballs I've had. $115 US, or about 900 SEK.

Bullen Två Krögare in Malmö is definitely a place worth visiting and one you should plan ahead for. We went around three in the afternoon and the restaurant was already packed, which says a lot about how popular it is. Booking is really necessary if you want a comfortable dining experience. The place is nicely decorated and has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and enjoy your meal. I ordered their infamous Swedish meatballs and they truly lived up to the reputation. The meatballs were flavourful, juicy, and paired perfectly with the lingonberry sauce, which added just the right balance of sweetness and tang. The buttery mash potato on the side was smooth, rich, and comforting, exactly what you want with such a classic dish. We also tried the sirloin and it was very well prepared. The meat was cooked nicely, tender, and seasoned just right, showing that the kitchen knows how to handle both traditional and simple dishes with care. To complete the meal, we had their in house beer, which was refreshing and paired well with the food. It felt like a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience. What stood out was not just the food but also the lively energy of the place. Even in the middle of the afternoon, the restaurant was buzzing with diners. Overall, Bullen Två Krögare offers good food, a cosy setting, and a great atmosphere. It is definitely worth coming, just make sure you book in advance.

We came all the way from Bahrain specifically to try authentic Swedish meatballs, and choosing this restaurant was the best decision! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcomed us with such warmth. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, they were smiling the whole time, quickly prepared a table for us, and made us feel truly appreciated. The food was served fast and the meatballs were unbelievably delicious — far better than we expected. I highly recommend anyone visiting Malmö to come to this restaurant just for this experience. It’s absolutely worth it!

Very good Swedish meatballs! Full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and truly satisfying. One of the best we’ve had in Malmö. A must-try if you’re visiting the city.

So apparently IKEA Turkey has been gaslighting us for years. Because THIS is what Swedish meatballs are supposed to taste like. Absolutely amazing. The cider was very good too, though a pear cider would’ve been a dream. The meatballs are still on my mind. Send help. 🫠🫠🫠
