Bullen - Två Krögare

If your only reference point for Swedish meatballs is IKEA… prepare yourself. Bullen is the real deal, and it’s not just a step up—it’s a whole flight of stairs. This place serves up comfort food with serious soul, and the meatballs alone are worth the trip to Malmö. The vibe is cozy, classic, and full of character—like an old-school pub that’s aged with charm, not dust. It feels local in the best way, like you’re getting a taste of real Swedish tradition without it feeling touristy or overdone. The meatballs? Unreal. Perfectly tender, swimming in rich gravy, with creamy mashed potatoes, lingonberries, and just the right pop from the pickled cucumber. It’s the kind of dish that makes you put your fork down halfway through just to appreciate what’s happening. The service was lovely—friendly, quick, and easygoing. We left full, happy, and slightly emotional about potatoes. Bullen is everything you want in a comfort food spot: warm, hearty, unfussy, and delicious. IKEA could never.

If you want to try Sweden's traditional dish "Köttbullar", Bullen is one of the best restaurants in Malmö to try it. The Köttbullar was perfect, really different from what I was used to. We also tried spinach lasagna and it was delicious. The prices were a little high but it was worth it.

Their meat balls are just fantastic. The gravy comes very well with the mash potatoes! It is a Swedish Royal Family preferred restaurant. Must try!

Authentic atmosphere, meatballs was good but a bit dry (also a bit expensive for the taste). Not sure if id go again but worth a touristy visit once. Staff was friendly, you need to book a table beforehand because it gets very crowded. Portion was more than enough.

Must try the traditional Swedish meatballs here, very local vibe and excellent service too (esp to Mr “Hujan” :) thanks for giving me more delicious pickles to eat with). Definitely will visit again if I am in town.

Delicious food, quick service, and super friendly, attentive staff. The interior was really charming and had a great atmosphere. It was a bit more expensive than we expected, but no real complaints. We were in Malmö for a day and had lunch there. The meatballs with mashed potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The portion might have looked small, but it was tasty and satisfying—a complete meal.
