Adventure Travel in Taiwan

"Ascending to Buluowan gave us a rare panoptic perspective over one of the few habitable flatlands within Taroko Gorge — a traditional Truku hunting ground where members of the tribe now run a hotel and educational site — and we crossed the ultramodern Buluowan Suspension Bridge, the fourth iteration of a structure first built in 1914 (its predecessor once earned the nickname “Resignation Bridge”)." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The newly elected suspension bridge is great for overlooking the gorge! The trails nearby are well planned too! Registration on line is required for four sessions a day but there is allowance for the on site visitors to get access too.

Not for the faint hearted. The suspension bridge is 192m long and 152m high. Enjoy the views! Open from 08:30-16:30 (Last admission time at 16:00 pm). (Closed on every first and third Mondays of every month. If encountered a national holiday then it will be postponed.) No Pets!

Spectacular and beautiful view from all angles accessible by foot. Bridge is stable too so there’s no need to worry when travelling with elderly or kids. Ample of parking spots nearby. A place not to be missed!

Beautiful spot to hike! It was one of many stops on out tour. It was great to learn about the indigenous tribes of Taiwan.

It's an absolutely breathtaking view from the suspension bridge! This is a must-see at Toroko and my new favorite spot here! 😍 It's very accessible, too! I was able to push my toddler across the bridge, in our Keenz wagon! 🤪

After staying a night at Taroko Village, we are ready for the next stopping point. 5 mins trips and we had arrived at Buluowan Terrace. What a spectacular and beautiful view. You need to take a walk on the bridge and look over Yiwu river.

Easy to access from Buluowan visitor center parking lot. The bridge offers amazing views of the Liwu River. From edge of the parking lot there are also good views of the river down to the dam. The Idas trail which begins near the entrance to the bridge will take you via many steps down to the main road from which you can also visit the old road for more scenic views (the Idas trail is for people who are physically fit)

How amazing is it to be here in the middle of gorge. It’s super steady and really high up. Views are out of this world gorgeous. Absolutely stunning. However, it requires no hiking and a bit too easy to get to.
