Unfortunately, this place didn’t live up to expectations. I was really hoping for a flavorful, authentic bowl of Bún bò Huế, but what I got was more reminiscent of a bland phở bò. I requested no pork knuckle or blood cube—which is usually not an issue—but even with those omissions, the broth lacked the rich, spicy depth I associate with the dish. It just didn’t hit the mark, especially being back in Vietnam where the standard is high.
On the upside, the chả nem lụi was solid—the meat was flavorful and juicy, and it came with plenty of lettuce for wrapping, which I appreciated. Service was a bit slow, but we were seated in the back, which might have been a factor.
