Bún Đậu Ngõ Nhỏ Phố Nhỏ

Local food that a friend recommended. It tastes good. We ordered "Bún đậu mắm tôm" a dip made from shrimp paste. The smell is quite strong. But overall it's delicious.

We wanted to dine at Secret Garden but it was full for our group of 6 pax (4 adults and 2 children under 6 years old). So we ended up at this place, which the staff told us that it's run by the same owner of Secret Garden. In fact, this shop sells Northen food and Secret Garden sells Southern food. Thus, we decided to dine here since it seems interesting to us as we peeked at what other diners are having. The food did not disappoint. It was interesting and it was our first time trying out more types of Northern Vietnamese food. The English speaking hunk was very helpful. He told us what to order and how much food to order. We were impressed with his service. He even went to dig out 4 cheese crackers for my 2 children 😆 Will definitely recommend. The husband finds the Bun cha nicer here too. The prawn paste was great. The staff told us to add sugar, lime and chilli to suit our taste.

Hidden in an alley. The food that I got was supposed to come with shrimp paste but they gave me soy sauce instead, maybe because I'm a foreigner. I asked for the shrimp paste and they happily gave me some. And then I understood why they won't give it to foreigners but as a fan of shrimp paste, I loved it. It was the aggressive kind.

Just had lunch here. The shrimp paste is pretty good compared with other places in Saigon because it has bubbles when stirring. The pork tastes weird but I finished the tofu and the balls. Good place to have quick lunch. It can be hot because of no aircon tho.

Nice central Vietnamese restaurant with delicious n affordable bun, love the fermented fish paste, ask for individual serving.

Located inside an alley and across the famous secret garden Very authentic vietnam dishes, delicious and affordable When they gave you wet tissue.. FYI its not free :)

totally unexpected to find this (sort of hidden) gem! just passed by a compound with different food signage and decided to try it out. ordered a combo for 2 pax and we loved it a lot we had to order 2 extra plates of noodles and another bowl of the pork pies soup 😆 Owner/manager speaks english and we're happy we followed his combo recommendation. other staff is friendly too. will definitely go back when we visit HCM again.

If you think of Bun Dau … I highly recommend to try this place. Their shrimp paste sauce is amazing. Also, need to try their pork sausage.
