Despite having booked well in advance, we arrived and were told to wait for the mother/manager to arrive to get our room number. The receptionist disappeared and we waited 25 minutes in the tired, time-warped, and dismal reception area before deciding this wasn’t the place for us and we found a more welcoming place to stay for the night. We were surprised that nobody called us to ask why we hadn’t checked in and why we hadn’t stayed, but maybe this is a regular occurrence! Like the previous reviewer we were not offered any food / drink whilst waiting and no sign of any of these facilities open despite the fact it was 2.30pm. It feels like a small hotel that has given up and needs a serious makeover, which is a real shame as it has a great location by the harbour.

We Recently stayed in Bunbeg House, I think some of the previous reviews are unfair and may put you off, I was worried after reading some reviews but they are very unfair and untrue. |The property is extremely clean, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms clean with lovely hot water, the breakfast is of high quality, cooked to order fresh and hot, the toast and brown bread very plentiful. we stayed for 3 nights, and found the owners so friendly and helpful. I read in one review there was no parking, a complete lie and disrespectful to the owners and the property, there was so much parking at the property it was not a problem at all, now of course if you want to park right out the side the front door you cant do that but how many hotels or guest houses can you do that at? we pulled up unloaded our bags and parked safely around the back of the property, where we could in fact see our car.|The property is a little dated however I have stayed in hotels and guest houses and paid more money for dreadful service, poor room quality and horrible pre cooked breakfast! This property is a little gem it was great for exploring and had wonderful beaches and golf clubs near by. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area. There are some lovely places to eat in the area but the filling breakfast keeps you going all day. The views from the rooms were beautiful, i would urge people to write correct truthful reviews when posting about a property it is simply unfair to write disrespectful untrue reviews.|I highly recommend this property if in the area.

Big twin room looking out over harbour; very comfortable bed; lovely cooked breakfast and bar meals in evening. Very friendly staff. Parking right outside at harbour level. Visited stunning Glenveagh national park, Mount Errigal, and walked at Bloody Foreland and the stunning Tranmore Strand, Dunfanaghy. This is a beautiful place to stay. Took in Beltany stone circle at Raphoe on way back south to Dublin.

Unfortunately only a single night stay on a tour of the northern part of The Wild Atlantic Way.||Spotless, comfortable rooms ( we had two) and an excellent breakfast, all provided by the friendly and attentive hosts Andy and Jean.||A bonus was the relaxing sitting room overlooking the wharf. It all felt very homely||A truly relaxing environment just off the beaten track.

Great spot, tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of the highway. I would never have found it except it was recommended by a friend of mine who is a commercial traveller. I'm glad I tried it. Right beside a small harbour with lots of boats, both private and commercial. Pleasant walk down the long quayside. I walked down it in the evening when the tide was in and then took more photos next morning when the tide was out. Hotel is on 3 or 4 levels which makes it interesting as long as you don't have heavy luggage. Plenty of easy parking. Room was spacious but I had room 16 and the cold water sink tap was tricky to get running and the shower was terrible. My friends had room 20 overlooking the water and the shower was excellent. Good breakfast with full cooked choice and self serve buffet. Glad I came.

We stayed here for one night recently when travelling round Donegal. Loved the location by the harbour. Peaceful & quiet. Homely B&B. Nice comfortable room with good breakfast. Nice to have area outside to sit & relax too!

Yelp
If you love the sea, you can't miss this gem in County Donegal not far from the airport in Bunbeg. You will feel right at home and relaxed. Very nice folks. As a business traveler I don't often stay at B&B's yet this place is more like a small hotel. I needed something for two nights in a pinch and they had an opening.
