Google
The food was really excellent. We got a sharing-meal for three or four people. Can’t remember exactly but there was plenty of food and lots of variety in the dishes. Would probably visit Leeds again just to go here! The tables could be a bit bigger considering so many people get sharing meals!

Google
Well what a fabulous lunch. The staff were informative, helpful and so obliging . The food was excellent and well presented for a street food . Also the Python beer brewed by themselves was light and clean in taste. Definitely be shouting from the roof tops about this place. Nothing like it in Halifax Thankyou guys for making this impromptu lunch so great..

Google
I really enjoyed the flavors and creativity in the dishes, everything was tasty and well-prepared. However, I found the portion sizes a bit on the smaller side, and the seasoning was slightly heavy, especially the salt and MSG. With a few adjustments, it could be even better. Still, a unique and enjoyable dining experience overall.

This place is absolutely brilliant. We moved to Leeds about six months ago, and pretty much everyone we met told us we had to try Bundobust. After finally going, we now feel a bit foolish for waiting so long!— It’s not your typical Indian restaurant. The vibe is relaxed and informal, and the food is something else — creative, exciting, and packed with flavours we’d never tried before. It’s all vegetarian (with loads of vegan options too), but trust me, you won’t miss the meat. Dishes like the Palak Koftas and Mung Bean Chatpata were total standouts. One of the best parts is that everything is designed to share, so we were able to try loads of different dishes between the three of us. The whole experience felt and different, not your standard curry night out. And if you're into beer, you're in luck — Bundobust also doubles as a great little beer spot. There’s a solid range, from crisp lagers to punchy IPAs, and even a proper bitter. My partner loved their twist on a radler — a shandy made with spiced Indian lemonade. Oh, and did I mention the value? Three of us absolutely stuffed ourselves (with drinks!) for £20 a head. Can’t argue with that. Bottom line: if you’re in Leeds and haven’t been to Bundobust yet, don’t wait like we did — just go.

Google
Absolute garbage food. But then again I am not a vegan. If you are and this is what you eat, bless you. We went as a group so wasn't bothered about the food, I was there for the chats, we did order but it was horrible food. Very pricey too, you'd think that the price would be for the value

Google
Really very enjoyable. I was skeptical about veggie / vegan chain place tbh. Food was delicious and tasty as well as spicy. It didn’t blow your head off. Best bhajis I’ve ever had. Tikka Paneer that’s filling and tasty. We ordered five dishes between two of us which was plenty. Also highly recommend the mango lassi drink which was insanely tasty. Only thing to watch is a round of 3 drinks was £25 and one of four drinks £32. Maybe it’s been a while since I was was out in Leeds but still a bit steep. Staff were amazing and really knowledgable about allergens which was impressive. We will be back!

Google
I really like this modern Indian street food style restaurant. It's great for sharing tapas style dishes and there's a good selection of local draft beers.

Google
The food was absolutely incredible- must get the combos so that you can try a bit of everything. The music was a bit too loud and the service wasn’t the friendliest but other than that it was perfect! A great place for good indian food and if you like sharing lots of plates.

Yelp
This indian and vegetarian restaurant is a true gem. The dishes are great and small portions, and I love being able to buy 2/3 small dishes at 4/5£ each. They also have a great selection of beers, and great cocktails!

Yelp
Rated 16 Best Places to Eat by BBC, but it's unpretentious and affordable vegetarian Indian street food with flavor. You get seated and you decide what to eat then go up to the bar to order. Don't forget you're table number!! The decor has mish mash of decorative doors on the walls in the front seating area and has some booths, benches and photos and the bar on the upper level. The menu is shareable so you can order 2-3 dishes per person, which is filling. We chose the bundo chaat, paneer tikka, bhel puri, aloo & dahl kachori with a Dirty Lopez for drinks. It's pretty popular for couples, dates, and groups.

Yelp
This place was so much fun! It's exactly what I had in mind when I think of a fun happy hour place, bustling with food and drinks. We sat very closely to each other and the service was fantastic. I had so much fun ordering a sampler platter and a big pint of beer. Even my family (kids) enjoyed the experience. The fried okra was yummy.

Yelp
Got a very good selection of food very very yummy I must say BUT some white men outside tried to rob me but I say NO Lucky for me I was runner back in day Food was nice tho

Yelp
Really out of the ordinary Indian food. Amazing flavors and preparation, and just happens to be completely vegetarian and very vegan friendly without feeling deprived.

Yelp
Phenomenal Indian street food. Bundobust is a great place to dine. The food and beer selection is fantastic. Great flavors and great atmosphere. Fun times here with friends.

Yelp
Domestic of the best food I've eaten in Leeds. Live the Chai and fried okra. Worth the visit when in Leeds great atmosphere and lovely staff.

Yelp
Best Indian street food we have had so far! We feel safe coming into this restaurant. Order and payment through your phone. Everything works seamlessly. We would definitely come back to this restaurant again.

Yelp
Best Indian food in Leeds. Great selection. The pav bhaji, chole, and paneer are the best dishes in my opinion. One dish is enough for one person, 3 is more than enough for two. Friendly service. Haven't tried the beers, but will next time. This place is in my rotation.

Great food, accompanied with some really great bangers.....Even better company. .....

Yelp
Yep yep yep yep (yelp...) what a great decision it was to go here and kill an hour between trains. Basically you're talking about a fantastic craft beer bar just a stones throw away from the train station, incredibly central and incredibly busy on the Weds evening I popped in. Beer selection is awesome, but to go with it you have loads of Indian street food options which are perfect for snacking on if you want a light bite. The bhel puri was good (not the best I've had, a bit sweet and sticky if you ask me, I've had better as I like it drier), but the pocket size dosas were great and totally on point. Very excited to see them opening up a branch in Manchester very soon, I'll be going - often!

Yelp
Although we were visiting Leeds specifically for Leeds Feast @ Leeds Indie Food Fest, we wanted to follow Joey Tribbiani's lead and warm our stomachs up first. After a pit stop for a coffee at Friends of Ham, we headed round the corner to Bundobust for craft beer & Indian 'street food'. Considering how close it is to the train station and both Friends of Ham / The Station Tap, we were surprised to find only a few tables occupied with fellow beer & food lovers. This did change once the Mikkeller Running Club appeared after their 10k morning run, but it simply added to the atmosphere. We settled in a table by the window - perfect for people watching - and ordered two pints; I preferred the Bombay Dazzler 'Indian Whit' out of the two, a collaboration brew between Bundobust and Northern Monk Brew Co. Due to the food we were planning to consume later in the day, we shared three plates between us; the onion gobi bhaji bhaji, tarka dhal, and mushroom & paneer tikka. After a few drinks already (and recovering from the night before) I can't stress how perfect this meal was for us. The bhaji was crispy on the outside and had a delicious, dense potato & cauliflower middle, and the mushroom & paneer dotted with tikka sauce was a balance between health and spicy indulgence. The dhal was a stand out for me, with a real kick of spice and served with white rice. We were tempted to simply stay and order more but the street food of Leeds was calling. The cost, quality and atmosphere here are all a 5 star for me; hopefully it won't be too long before we can head back. I've heard excellent things about the okra fries...

Yelp
Simply couldn't get enough of Bundo during our visit to Leeds - loved the venue, loved the choice of craft beer and LOVED the Indian street food-inspired menu! Two establishments combined their skills to come up with this mecca - the vegetarian Indian eatery Prashad in Leeds and The Sparrow pub in Bradford. I didn't think our large group would be able to be seated on a Saturday afternoon, but we waltzed in and to our joy/relief found large bench seating available so we plonked ourselves down. The menu contains about a dozen or so small dishes to choose from (prices from £2.50 to £6). I went for the Bundo Chaat and Biryani Bhaji Balls (the latter mainly because I liked the alliteration). You order your preferences at the bar and receive a number which you keep on your table. As there were a lot of us, the dishes just came out when they were ready, with those of us who waited last to order pining over every one that arrived. The two beers I went for were both knockouts - the Red Raspberry Rye from Buxton and Peanut Riot by Fierce Beer. I'd never had anything like either of them before; insanely good. To say that I'm full of anticipation for their Manchester restaurant opening soon near Piccadilly is a serious understatement!

Yelp
Nice casual food place with great beer! Loved the vibe and decor of the place and staff were really friendly. My friend and I sat outside in the yard, which is practically covered overhead, but still feels outdoorsy, as small parts are left uncovered. Although do be aware, you can smoke in the yard, so bare that in mind if eating and you don't want to taste cigarette smoke. The menu is a bit like Indian tapas/street food. My friend and I shared 4 dishes between us and we felt it was plenty. We tried the okra fries, Punjabi kadhi, chole bhatura and bundo chaat. All the dishes were delicious, my favorite being the Punjabi Kadhi, which was dumplings (tasted like onion bhajis) in a warm yoghurt soup. You get 3 large dumplings, so it goes far. I also really liked the okra fries. The bundo chaat was a bit strange as it is served cold, so I probably wouldn't go for that again, but it still tasted great. Service was quick. You order and pay for your food at the bar, so when you are ready to go, it's convenient to leave quickly. I would recommend this place for drinks and some casual tasty nibbles.

Yelp
Went here with fellow yelper and good friend Josh and another friend of ours on a Friday evening. Bundobust is quite different to most eating places that I've been to in the UK in the sense that it is not a full fledged curry house, neither is it a fast food joint. This a very typical Indian street food restaurant where the dishes seemed pretty Bombay inspired in their preparation and presentation. The food tasted great and the portions were sized and priced such that you could try a few things before you felt you'd had enough without spending too much. It's located quite close to the train station and is definitely worth a visit. I will be going there next time I visit Leeds.

Yelp
Great vegetarian/Indian street food. Im a big meat eater so the idea of a full veg meal put me off at first, but the food is fresh, delicious, filling (usually get 2-3 dishes), and great in value. I'd recommend to anyone, vegetarian or not. Also, a wide selection of craft beers on tap and craft gin/vodkas and cocktails. The restaurant itself is also very cool, urban/Indian decor on the inside.

Yelp
My husband and I were told to get Indian food when we went to England, so that is the first thing we did. We went here in between the lunch and dinner rush, so it was super easy to find a seat and order -- we were probably 1 of 2 parties in there. It's really close to the train station, which is how we found it in the first place, so it was great to be able to sit down after our ride in and enjoy some authentic Indian food. Everything sounded delicious, but we limited ourselves to ordering just 5 dishes a la carte to share. For the amount of food you get, the price is reasonable. Our favorite was the Onion Gobi Bhaji Bhaji, but there wasn't one dish we ordered that we didn't like. We also ordered their version of sangria, which was absolutely delicious and perfect and went incredibly well with the main dishes.

Yelp
This is a bar with some Indian small plates served on disposable plates and in disposable take away cups. I walked in, verified the extremely limited menu and noticed almost no one eating. Everyone was drinking and hanging out. It is not an Indian restaurant.

Yelp
Wada Pav near Leeds ?!! And I wouldn't say this lightly - almost as good as in Pune. Also tried the paneer mushroom tikka - pure heaven. All in a very fun place too.

Yelp
Yes, yes and yes. Bundobust does beer, food and ambiance right, not too pretentious and with an owner who actually frequents his own establishment! A friend and I stopped by and ended up tasting all the beers - both still being indecisive we went for a flight of 1/3rds each. The mixed but and pea selection was great, if a little salty, but the bhel puri was spot on and went well with the coriander beer (and darker beers as well). Hell, it all works well! Good price, not too busy, very central - what else could you want? Oh, great people? They've got a bunch of them as well. Go. Go now. Go again. Keep going back, and hope one opens a bit closer to London!

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for ages but just never found the right time. Went for lunch today and it was amazing! A friend and I went and we had the deal for 2 which is £25. You get bhajis, taaka Dahl, pancake with potato served with spicy soup, a cold dish which was chickpeas and crunchy samosa type pastry (difficult to describe but really tasty, refreshing to eat with some of the spicier stuff) and bbq'd paneer kebabs. It was all really tasty but I especially liked the paneer kebabs as I hadn't had paneer before. Everything felt just a little bit different to what I had had before, which I guess makes sense as I haven't had Indian street food per se. I'd definitely recommend this place, and they have quite a variety of beers, my friend had a mango beer which was tasty. I can't wait to go again and try even more new things!

Yelp
Such a cool little place! I sat outside in the covered yard with an ale and several little bowls. Tarka Dhall, Rice, Halloumi kebabs and a flatbread, and it was more than adequate. Great for a group of friends. A very street feel which is popular at the moment with places like Zaap. I spent about £20 and that was great for me :-)

Yelp
Bundobust lives up to its rep. And it's not often I think that about a place. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, kind on the wallet and good food. Seriously good food for that matter. We opted for the 'combo for 2' (£25). For that we got Bundo Chaat (cold yoghurty, potatoey deliciousness with crushed samosa and tamarind chutney - sounds odd, tastes yum), onion gobi bhaji bhaji (they describe it as the 'ultimate' Bhaji. I wouldn't go that far but it was rather nice), paneer and mushroom tikka (smoky, flavourful kebab with quite a kick), tarka dhal (what you'd expect) and a very tasty masala dosa (South Indian cuisine at its finest). We added okra fries because we couldn't resist and we're glad we didn't. Mmmm. It's all served up on biodegradable plates in biodegradable bowls with biodegradable knives and forks. Craft beers are a-plenty and it's all vegetarian. Street food at its best. What more could you ask for?

Timmy T.

Yelp
Insanely good. Food: creative, unique, robust with flavor Beer selection: see food description:) Ambiance: clean, casual, fun, quick date spot Loved it to say the least! Thanks

Yelp
I am going against the trend here only giving 3 stars but I went, I enjoyed it, but I haven't actually been back so something must have been missing. I will try it again because it is nice little spot so who knows this review may need to be updated soon. It is in theory good for groups with the big long tables but then again it is often rammed so maybe not.

Yelp
There aren't enough bars around that can offer such a niche and enjoyable experience as Bundobust. I'm glad to have been introduced to this place by a local and look forward to visiting it again the next time I'm in Leeds. Bundobust is very close to the railway station and offers a unique mix of Indian style street food and craft beer. If you are a fan of both or either then you won't want to miss this place. They have an outdoor seating area located within the building in a kind of atrium space and very close to the bar, which is remarkably cosy even in the colder months, it's quite cool that it's not stuck out on the footpath or in a rear back alley like most places. The food is tasty, inexpensive and remarkably authentic. It leaves you wanting more which is fine as nothing on the menu breaks the bank. The Bundo Chaat is a recommendation. My only hope is they don't rest on their laurels too much, it would be great to see them change up the menu on occasion as Indian street food varies greatly across the immense country and it would be fun to try specialities from all the regions (pani puri would be something I think would go well with a beer for example)

Yelp
I've been to bundobust twice now and still can't get over how great it is. There are so many good things I have to say about this place that it's hard to know where to begin, but I'll give it a go. It looks rather tiny from the outside and that might put you off if it seems busy but venture in and you'll realise there is an abundance of space- they've done really well at utilising the space they have a there's plenty of room. You might have to share benches with other parties but why not?? This is Indian street food- get into the spirit of things! For both of my visits a friend and I ordered six or seven dishes and shared everything- which I would definitely recommend doing because it's ALL SO DELICIOUS!! Also this only cost about £30 including drinks and we were stuffed both times so that's pretty good going. I've had pretty much everything on the (small but perfectly formed) menu now and I cannot pick a favourite- though the okra fries are an absolute must! They also have a great range of craft beers including a limited edition mikeller x brew dog offering which is so tasty!

Yelp
You can't really give less than five stars to such an amazing indie spot like this. I mean, I'd been waiting forever for these guys to settle in -- I tried them at the Leeds Beer Fest maybe two years ago and had been hanging on since then. (We tried the coriander beer -- it was incroyable.) They also made several appearances at street food happenings around town, so there was plenty of buzz before they finally opened. What's even more crazy is that I've still not set foot inside the place. Don't worry, I'm fully qualified to write this review: My friend brought over the most amazing selection of goodies from here when I was poorly, so I've indulged greatly. It's a bit difficult to describe quite what we had, since they were all little pots of magic, but I'll do my best. There were rice dumplings, which came in a spicy, zesty sauce. Another kind of dumpling -- I think potato -- which will forever now be the best comfort food I could direct you towards. The little pots of curry were bursting with flavour and my favourite was this pot of crispy, flaky, fried stuff (like crispy wonton parcels, but Indian style) with a red sauce. (Forgive me for not knowing the names -- I'm sure if you ask, they'd know!) Basically, everything that she brought around to my flat was delicious. You'll discover taste buds you didn't know you had. The spice level can be reasonably heated with some of the dishes, but I'd say risk it -- and that's coming from a former spice wuss. It was nothing I couldn't handle (even recovering from throat surgery) and it only added to the flavour sensation. You simply have to go along and give them a go!

Yelp
Great place for a quick informal meal. They do craft beers and Indian street food. All dishes are vegetarian with vegan options too. Order at the bar and just wait for your food to arrive. My ordered food arrived quickly and their own beer Bombay Dazzler was good. Will definitely be back. You could sum this up as vegetarian Indian tapas with a large selection of craft beer on the side. Definitely worth going to just for the beer with maybe a few nibbles on the side.
google avatar

Yelp
Popped in today; having had Indian street food before I thought I knew what I would order. But decided to put my food choice in their hands and we got the chombo for 2; we werent disappointed. It was a perfect blend of spice and cooler milder dishes. We are both carnivores but probably enjoyed the veggie dish the most! We were that full we couldn't even finish it off!!!(and at least one of us was nursing a hangover). The beers are mostly locally sourced and represent a good mix of what is happening currently on the ale scene; I was pleasantly surprised!

Mhairi S.

Yelp
This place is so good. Finally managed a visit when I was in town and really enjoyed it. They have plenty of seating but it can get pretty busy. Menus are on the table and you just order at the bar. I had the onion bhaji and the lentil curry. The bhaji was awesome, it also comes with a spicy tomato sauce which totally made it for me. The lentil curry and rice was really nice and filling. There is also a great range of craft beer on offer

Yelp
Disappointed that I haven't had chance to eat here yet, too busy First two times, second two , too late for the kitchen that shuts at 9:30 ... The staff seemed a little "aloof" ... I hope to be able to give a glowing review when I get the chance to sample it's delights. As a bar it's great, interesting beers and all a bit different
google avatar

Alexander S.

Yelp
Large range of craft beers, and great atmosphere! There are some great craft beers on tap as well as a wide range of beers in the fridge. Really good place to pop in for an after work drink on a Friday, continent location right near the train station.

Yelp
Killer food and beers. All reasonably priced and in a great atmosphere. Every time we have guests from out of town we take them here and it blows them away! Unique and definately tastey.

Yelp
We have been hoping around to various Indian food joints and found some we really liked...then we went to bundobust and I NEVER WANT TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Go with a pal and order a little of everything - you can't go wrong! Seriously this place is awesome! We are going to miss it when we move back home!!!

Yelp
I have a new favorite restaurant in Leeds. How do you beat street Indian small plates + craft beer? Not an extensive menu, but a great variety of types, ingredients and spice levels. Small plates mean that, dining alone, I avoided the usual Indian frustration of not being able to try a range of dishes. It also means that you can leave well sated, including a pint, for well under 20 pounds. The staff is really helpful, recommending combinations and beer accompaniments. The counter-man (you order at the counter and they bring the food to you) recommended the Okra Fries as a complement to my choices. I allowed as how I wasn't a fan of okra, and he said (correctly) "you probably think of okra as slimy." He described how they make the fries and I took his advice, and a good thing I did. They're crisp, spicy and peppery, lightly fried and addictive. Bundobust is very casual - unfinished wood, take-away type dishes and plastic utensils. You'll be too focused on the food to notice. Three dishes, three unique textures, three unique flavors, one fantastic dinner.

Dee B.

Yelp
We are regulars here when we visit Leeds. Best Indian food we've had in the area and a great selection of craft beers (many of them local) too. It's always a bit busy and it's first come/first serve seating but don't let that drive you away. The staff always help you to find a place to sit and even during the busiest times we've only had to wait a few minutes. You order food at the bar and they bring it to you. If you're vegetarians like we are you'll find an *extensive* list of veggie goodies on the menu. Also, a bunch of gluten-free options to choose from. The plates are small but big enough that 2 can share them. We've tried them all now (repeatedly) and they are consistently good, freshly made and served promptely. The onion bhaji is AMAZING!!! The atmosphere is fun and cozy for the cold, dark nights in Leeds.

Paul S.

Yelp
One of my favourite places. A fantastic selection of craft beers and delicious Indian street food. Always busy at a weekend.
google avatar

Fatema L.

Yelp
As an Indian, I am reluctant to go out and eat Indian food in restaurants because I can get get miles better at home. So when my friend took me here I did not really have a positive mindset. How wrong I was, this is one of the few places that actually spice their foods and it's well balanced. The food is not too oily and unless the dish is specifically supposed to be so, not overpowered by salt or chilli. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and with that don't match how good the dishes are. This place is goof for vegetarians and carnivores alike - you don't miss the meat when the food tastes so good.

Yelp
When I heard that legendary Bradford Indian vegetarian restaurant Prashad had opened a beer and street food bar in Leeds I was inevitably interested. And my expectations were more than lived up to. Joining the throng of quality beer bars in Leeds comes Bundobust, an unassuming but thriving bar/restaurant in Mill Hill. It's much more informal than Prashad itself, but the food is just as good. The choice is a little limited but that doesn't matter. There are around a dozen dishes available, and all are served in small portions so it is a little like Spanish Tapas. Between 3 greedy people we managed to order almost everything on the menu! It was all absolutely outstanding but a few dishes were in a different class. The Bel Puri, a cold dish made from puffed rice, crushed samosas and tamarind, was ridiculously tasty. The same can be said for the Massala Dosa, a curry with rice pancake. The Onion Bhajis were as good as I have ever tasted. Every dish we had was delicious. Curiously the choice of beers far exceeds the selection of food. And there are good beers on tap, other good bottled beers and you can taste before you order. All this coupled with super friendly customer service makes Bundobust a very quality but thoroughly informal and relaxed place to eat. We absolutely loved it.

Jay P.

Yelp
I'm quite a negative guy, things in life piss me off. But I'm struggling to find a negative for Bundobust. The beers are cracking (theres a huge selection of bottled beers), and the food is great too. Really relaxed atmos, a good place to start the night or go after work, friendly, knowledgable stafft too. 5 stars.

P K.

Yelp
Strolled in looking for some Indian food and a pint for lunch. The place next door had just closed (at 2pm!) and I considered myself lucky that this place was open. The bartenders were awesome. I'm not the most well versed in beer-speak. But I know what I like. After listening to me ramble for a little bit, I was given tastes of two beers - either of which I would gladly have chosen. Then I settled in for a lunch of Onion Bhajis and Egg Bhurji. Really great combo, especially with the beer. An amazing place and I'm sad there isn't one back home.

Tom A.

Yelp
Had awesome indian fast food after a long time in the UK. From chole bhature to samosa chat n pani puri. Everything was jus perfect. Staff plays a crucial role in keeping the place clean n hygenic. A++ Would definitely visit again when i m in leeds.

Andy I.

Yelp
Excellent food. Excellent beer. I highly recommend this place. The covered smoking area to the side is also a bonus :)
