Rank: #50 "Here, Chef Ryan Hotchkiss curates a compact menu— maybe 15 items that change subtly to accommodate seasonal ingredients while the backbone of the dishes stays the same. The delightfully light gnocchi Parisienne are a must order and, depending on the time of year, are paired at turns with mushrooms and green garlic or squash, sprouts and brown butter."

Love the concept and most of the execution of this restaurant. The food was generally good with the exception of the tartine and rillettes dishes. They do arrive already spread onto the toast, which a fine, but the versions on the night we where there where every sparse on the accompanying toppings. For example, the huge piece of bread had a good amount of the whipped chicken liver tartine, but only a couple of pickled cherries. This just made it kind of useless. When you actually had everything together in one bite it was good. Would have been better to have the items more chopped and dispersed if you are going to pre do it all in the kitchen. That being said, the gnocchi was good as was the broccoli. The pan roasted hen, 5 spice rub, mushrooms, tamarind & miso butter was probably one of the best things that I have had in awhile. I was more than happy that it came with mushrooms instead of the green beans it showed on the menu.

Disappointing Dining Experience at Bündok My wife and I dined at Bündok last year, drawn by its inclusion in the Amex Platinum card’s international dining benefits from Singapore, which covered $200. We ordered several dishes, including cocktails, soup, beef strip-loin, roasted chicken, and chocolate cake. Unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing. The service was subpar. The bartender, who also served us, spilled a few drops of soup on our table while serving and neither apologized nor cleaned it up. The food was equally lackluster—the strip-loin and chicken were dry and flavorless, and the chocolate cake tasted stale (1/10) To make the matter worse, the bartender who also served us rudely approached me to relay a complaint from another table about my footwear (Crocs) and posture, which felt rude and unnecessary. Another server (our main server) kindly apologized for their colleague’s behavior, but it didn’t salvage the experience. Spending over $200 for mediocre food (1/10) and uncomfortable service was frustrating. We won’t return.

I took my girlfriend for an early Valentine’s Day dinner and Meera took care of us from the second we walked in. Prior to our reservation , I reached out about getting access to the Valentine’s Day set menu a day early and Meera was more than happy to accommodate my request. When my girlfriend informed Meera of her food allergies, she offered an alternative dish as part of the main course and gave us both desserts from the set menu without any extra charge. The smoked olives were delicious, the smoke flavour was strong and it was beautifully neutralized by the slight bitterness and tang of the citrus. My girlfriend and I loved the fried chicken skins and joked about cancelling the rest of the meal for five more orders. It’s that addicting. The steelhead crudo was refreshing, zesty, and a delicious way to cleanse the palate. The gnocchi was otherworldly to say the least. My girlfriend only had a few bites due to her food allergies and it broke my heart to eat the whole plate alone. Luckily for her, she had the deep fried cauliflower as a substitute and it was, I quote, “very filling”. As a steak lover, I was very excited to try the striploin with the black garlic butter. The cook was perfect (although personally I would have rendered the fat cap a little bit more, but that’s just me being nitpicky) and the sauce (I’m assuming peppercorn) tied everything together. Finally, the chocolate crepe cake and the citrus posset were both delicious, with the former having the ability to put you to sleep from how fulfilling it was, and the latter having the perfect balance of sweetness and citrus to leave your palate feeling refreshed. 10/10. We walked out feeling full, happy, and a bit tipsy (get the equinox, I’m far from a cocktail guy so I won’t pretend like I know what i’m talking about but trust me ). Overall, the service was amazing and so was the food. If you want every date night to feel like Valentine’s Day, stop by for dinner.

Cute little restaurant not too far from Grant Mac. Reason we chose this place was for the good reviews on the liver pate and they did not disappoint! It is a sharing plate restaurant which we knew before going and were quite happy with as we were able to try a number of dishes. From start to finish, each dish was so good. Our hostess/waitress was very friendly and prompt. We had a reservation in case there was a lunch crowd but we were the only ones there. Probably still a good idea to have one just in case. Hard to say which dish we liked the best - definitely try the parmensan soup and smoked olives...and of course the liver!

Google
Wonderful dinner spot. We had the smoked olives (I loved) to start, then the braised cauliflower and gnocchi for dinner. Everything was delicious and I wanted more but was a wonderful amount that was perfect for the two of us. Nice selection of beers and tried some lovely cocktails that hit the spot. Price depends on what you get so take a look at the menu but everything we had was delicious so don't think you can go wrong

I wish I had known about this place seven years ago - back when it first opened. Cool atmosphere, great service, and delicious food (which includes a number of tasty gluten-free options). Definitely worth checking out!!

Google
Enjoyed pre Oilers game cocktails and share plates. Unique specialty drinks and decent craft beer and wine selection. Menu is quite distinct and 4 of us split two devilled eggs (as good as prairie potluck) And the tagliatelle pasta , gnocchi and 14 oz strip loin medium rare . Extremely flavourful and fun to sample. Servers were busy but kept pace as did the kitchen which was important to make puck drop. Only quirk - for reservation, you need to give credit card with $20 per person charge if you cancel, so be certain.

Yelp
Finally got to try Bundok last night, and while the food definitely lived up to the hype (for the most part, the steak was rubbery), we likely won't be back. Apparently Bundok was participating in downtown dining week and had a $65 dinner. We were never made aware of that. First impressions were...exceptionally poor. 1. It was LOUD. Like, had to routinely ask my dining partner to repeat themselves level loud for the entire meal. We were also greeted by the manager, who barely looked up and seemed quite annoyed, while waving us over to our table. I also sat at our table for well over 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged by our server. It's a very small space so this definitely stood out. My husband had time to go get something from the car, come back, browse the drink menu a few times and ask me if we wanted to leave before anyone came to talk to us. It was a busy night, sure but...I can't recall a time I've actually debated just leaving (and leaving a gift card behind) due to utter lack of service. When our server did come, she was quite lovely and did fantastic through the whole meal despite being new. This makes me wonder if the manager forgot to mention there was a new table. Food wise, we knew we had a gift card so we definitely wanted to use that up and then some. The drinks were...okay. Nothing notable and frankly the wine selection is better suited to the meal (their orange is lovely), but I can certainly see why Bundok has won awards for its menu. Every item, save for our striploin was delicious and perfectly prepared. The steak itself tasted like its prepared sous vide then seared, but was very rubbery in our case. Could have been that it wasn't fully to temp when seared. The black garlic sauce was nice, but overall, we could have done without that dish as a whole. If I look at the meal as a whole, removing the benefit of having a gift card, I wouldn't, and won't, be going back. Why? While the food IS wonderful, the price you'll pay (don't get me wrong, I have zero issue paying for an experience and good eats!) isn't necessarily worth poor service, and exceptionally loud (seriously, you're in a repurposed industrial loft that's supposed to feel intimate, the glass beside me was vibrating at some points) setting. This would be 2 stars and a non recommend, but the flavour of the food saved it. If you're fine with super loud and want an experience, give it a shot, but there are other places in the city that are far better for an intimate night out, have equal caliber food, and quite frankly, run laps around the service. While we're thankful for the opportunity, we'll happily pass on going back.

Yelp
I've reviewed before and I'll review again. We came here for our anniversary and had delicious food, attentive service, and a memorable experience. The restaurant is quite small so you get a nice, intimate vibe that makes you feel well-cared for. The pate is exceptional. We get it every time. If you want a special evening with delicious food, I highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
My second visit in 3 years. It was a quiet, romantic evening. We shared the green bean and tomato tartine for snacks. The charred broccoli and gnocchi dishes followed. The strip loin with black garlic sauce was to die for. We finushed with the chocolate ganache. We shared each dish as this is how they roll here. We drank "The Actress" mocktail in lieu of wine. (It's Sober October). The service is elegant and complete. We really like this place and we're not sure why we don't come here more often.

Yelp
A lot has changed in downtown Edmonton in the 5 years since I was last here, sadly, not positively. Wandering around the now mostly shuttered downtown was a little gloomy... but then there was Bundok, and Edmonton has been redeemed. Yes, the parmigiano soup was JUST that magical. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Reservations are encouraged and can be made on their website via Open Table. I hesitate with restaurants that demand a credit card to hold a reservation, but seeing that there were plenty of windows of time open for just li'l ol' me, I decided showing up right at opening (for my East Coast time clock) would be perfect. As it turns out, I sat solo at the bar (in fact the entire restaurant) for about the first 15-20 mins. A little awkward, as they were still sort of doing last minute setup stuff, but I'm happy to be left alone for a short while to gather my thoughts. Like a lunatic, I checked the menu a few times before arriving and STILL hadn't decided what to get by the time I was seated. I knew for sure the chicken liver tartine was a must. The parmigiano soup had piqued my interest as well. It was a decision in the shared items that stumped me (it sucks to dine solo when the options are plenty!) - the burrata with peaches? The grilled broccoli with fried egg? The gnocchi? After a lengthy discussion with the bartender, we decided that the burrata (in addition to the tartine) might be too much bread and the gnocchi too heavy with the other two items. Grilled broccoli for the win! The soup came out first and MYGOD it was DIVINE. The very definition of comfort, and perfect for the grey, windy day. And the bites of leek and bacon... I mean. It was incredible. The tartine came next and, delicious as it was, just couldn't follow the parmigiano soup. Same with the broccoli - good, but nowhere near the decadence of the soup. I now look forward to my next trip to Edmonton, if only for the parmigiano soup.

Yelp
Been meaning to try Bundok for some time. Got the chance tonight as we only live around the corner now! Bundok is #2 on the 100 Best Things to Eat with their parmigiana soup. We did not end up having the soup (next time!). We did have their gnocchi and pork belly with beets. Bundoks version of gnocchi doesn't use potatoes and I've never had this dish so can't tell you how it differs from the traditional but I can say the gnocchi was very tasty. I'd definitely have it again! The pork belly was also tasty. The beets were cooked to perfection and the pork has a nice crispy outside. I recommend. For a cocktail I tried be the Boulangerie. It's their version of an old fashioned. It wasn't bad but the bread crumb rim was weird. For $15 I wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Bundok was the choice for our anniversary dinner. This small, very intimate restaurant does not disappoint. Our apps we so yummy. Green beans with an almond aioli and devilled egg. Photos below. Mains were gnocchi with mushrooms and a pork chop. These were for sharing and omg! How tasty. Forgot to take photos We were too full for dessert. Not a lot of wines available by the glass. What they had were very good. Service was top notch My only complaint is the chairs. Wooden chairs and my booty don't go together ! But if that's the only complaint, then oh well!

Yelp
So I have given two already favourable reviews. But my last visit at Bundok changed that. Food was excellent as usual. What stunk and really ruined my dining experience. One ignorant server. And one manager that didn't respond So to be fair, I thought I had reservations but they were not recorded. So it could be that I thought I made resevations and didn't place send or something. So our server - Kayla - rolled her eyes as I searched for my reservations on Open Table but couldn't find them. I also couldn't find them. Fair enough. So she left us and the lovely bartender said, "It's okay there are two spots here at the bar if you are okay sitting here that are free." So we did. And then every time Kayla walked by she bumped my chair. My purse flew off twice onto the floor. I am also recovering from a back injury. I was t-boned when someone didn't see the stop sign and threw my back into a power pole. My back was aching by the end of this dinner. Finally I said to her "Sorry am I sticking out to much?" Although I pulled my chair in as much as I could. Then she huffed and said, "No it is fine." But by her tone it totally wasn't fine. And I have no idea what I did to make her upset because I was super apologetic about not having the reservations. And there was two free spots available anyway. And we spent a chunk of change. She didn't take our order but she did deliver our food. I noticed she was smiley and happy with everyone but when she passed our dishes she seemed annoyed with the inconvience. no smile. No comments on what we were eating. Just a slap of the plate onto the bar.  Since me and my friend were splitting things, when she slapped down the first dish (the curdo) I went to ask for seperate plates she interupted me and said, "yeah they are coming." and sighed deeply again. Generally she made us feel that we were a huge thorn in her side. I have no idea why because when she was serving (and being tipped I imagine) she was all smilely and complements to everyone around us. She did the minimum and I actually wished she hadn't servered us at all. I really hope our tip didn't go to her.  She wasn't careful with out dishes and just kinda dropped them when being served.  She never asked about the food (although the bartender did and I am not sure whose job it was). But I have lower back pain and by the 6th time she rammed into my chair I was annoyed. She was not professional in any manner and it really hindered on how we enjoyed our food which by the way was amazing. And we both spent almost 100 bucks each for dinner. So I don't care how much you spend but you should be treated with respect. I will say that before I make reservations for this place again, I will ask who is the wait staff. I will not come back if she is serving. i will recommend to all my foodie people not to go if she is serving. She doesn't seem like she behaves like the philosophy of Bundok, which is to make customers have a postive experience with thier dinner and enjoy the experience. Otherwise it was amazing. The food was fantastic. Our favourites were the chicken skins and the crudo. I have reviewed this before and gave it a 5 out of 5. So I am Yelp Elite of the year, and I am not paid by anyone to go to restaurants and eat. I chose this place because I love it and wanted to introduce another foodie influencer to it. She was influenced. Not probably in a good way with the service. And I contacted the manager and there was no follow up. Sorry I don't pay 100 bucks to be treated like shit. There are tonnes of places where you can have the dining experience where the staff understand how to treat customers - Baijiu, Bar Bricco, RNG RD, Sabor, Bodega, and Sofras. If you want fine dining where you can share plates and treated well, try these places. I have been to Baijiu, RNG RD and Bar Bricco 3 times. Sabor, Bodega, and Sofras at least 5 times. And I never felt like a second class person. Here are my photos for dinner. And I want to emphesis the food is excellent. I did not have an issue with any of the dishes I was served. But a restaurant needs, particularly at this price range, needs to treat everyone with respect. I may go in the next year, but I will make sure that this server isn't on shift.

Yelp
It might be #50 on the Canada 100 Best restaurants list of 2020, but it's #1 in Edmonton and with good reason. Booking a reservation during phase 2 of Albertas reopening was simple and we felt comfortable in the restaurant when seated. The service was knowledgeable and prompt with dishes coming out one at time so as not to rush us. The chicken skins were a great start and everything after was just a delicious as the first. The beets were a surprise hit at the table but the gnocchi and striploin were to die for! Each dish is meant for sharing, so bring as many people as you can - there's something for everyone despite the seemingly short menu. Trust me, you'll want almost everything on it. We left way more full than expected, but completely satisfied with the choice to come here.

Yelp
Bündok has been one of my most desired restaurants to try in Edmonton for a while because they have been featured on a lot of the country's most prominent and important lists. Canada's 100 Best Restaurants listed Bündok at #93 in 2019 and #50 in 2020. enRoute magazine put them at #8 on Canada's Best New Restaurants 2018. And CBC Edmonton's Best Restaurants 2019 named them as one of the Best of Downtown. This place is hot and I had to try them for myself! You'll find the seasonally-centric Bündok (which means "mountain" in Tagalog) right in the heart of Downtown on 104th Street (where everything in the area is cool). I zipped up on a Saturday evening and was happily seated on the sidewalk patio in the pleasant summer heat. The inside of the restaurant is chic. I loved the cobalt blue colour of the walls, the exposed cinder block, and especially the towering shelves behind the bar which contain an array of knickknacks. The industrial vibe isn't all that shocking these days but I definitely appreciated the approachable atmosphere of the space. The buzzy open kitchen, helmed by Chef Ryan Hotchkiss, allows you to peek in on the action. He seems to be doing a whole lot with a pretty small amount of space! Our server was absolutely wonderful and made us feel right at home, as if we were old friends. I was eager to get a cocktail into my hand - something to match my "hot summer night" patio experience among their pretty planters. The Honeypunch (Yellow chartreuse, amaro sibilla, wildflower honey, lemon, sencha, clarified milk - $14.00) caught my eye and sounded very unique. From the very first sip, this beverage surprised me. The way the experience evolved on my palate was so interesting! At first the sweet honey notes were front and center. But then a more adult, citrus-bitterness developed, which balanced the drink well. Expertly-crafted. The menu at Bündok is to-the-point. There are four "Snacks" to choose from (loves me some snacks!) and thirteen main dishes from "Shares." Plus two desserts in "Sweet." The whole concept is to try a lot of different things, sharing with your co-diners, and allowing for a full and well-rounded experience of everything that the restaurant has to offer. My husband and I were happy to oblige and ordered a barrage of plates which started to arrive after almost no time at all. Each item that we ordered was served in an order that "made sense" with the other dishes, which I appreciated very much. Every plate is made with the current season in mind, capitalizing on the very best ingredients available. First to arrive was the Fried Zucchini Blossoms (Goat yogurt, lemon zest - $6.00) snack. Ultra-seasonal, I love the moments when I find zucchini blossoms on a menu. Fried to a golden perfection, the inside was deliciously tangy and creamy while the citrus pop of lemon made the dish feel very summery and fresh. Next to arrive was Bündok's famed Sea Bream Crudo (Thai basil, citrus, chili, olive oil, apple - $23.00), which looks as beautiful as it tastes. I loved the stunning presentation and noted the use of delicately purple chive flowers. The fish was unctuous and buttery, each bite melting in my mouth. I loved the liberal use of (good) olive oil and the wonderful texture added from the shower of crunchy apple and sea salt. Inconspicuous dots of chili sauce brought just the right amount of heat. A gorgeous plate on every level. Next was our other snack! Chicken Liver Tartine (Dark chocolate, raspberry - $5.00). The combination of flavours on this plate were quite bold. A lot of competing elements but they did somehow manage to find harmony. The heaping amount of rich and creamy chicken liver mousse was the absolute star for me. And then the shaved bitter chocolate and tart juicy raspberry came in swinging! It was just so crazy that it worked. I had heard that the cracklingly crisp Fried Chicken Skins (Honey mustard - $11.00) were a must... Definitely worth ordering, I thought that the presentation of the honey mustard looking a whole lot like an egg yolk (on a pale plate) was very cute. These things are addictive. Double fried and perfectly salted, each bite practically shattered in my mouth like some kind of next-level potato chip. The honey mustard managed to balance some of the fattiness and the whole thing was very delicious. Next is the dish that Bündok is probably the most famous for; Gnocchi Parisienne (Stinging nettle pesto, herb breadcrumbs - $26.00). So what makes this gnocchi different? It's the Parisienne technique. In this style of preparation pâte à choux is used instead of potato. This creates a dumpling that is impossibly light and fluffy - like a little pillow made of clouds. This version is a lot less heavy and dense than its potato counterpart. The verdant pesto was very nice, again creating an ideal summer flavour profile and the satisfying crunch from the toasty breadcrumbs really helped to even out how soft this dish truly is. Quite excellent and I would

Yelp
Nice place, nice vibe we arrived early 5pm and felt rushed by the two servers as we were the only two people. I usually like to relax and enjoy a cocktail however both servers kept asking us if we were ready to order! This is as a little annoying!Ordered Striploin $44 and was very good definitely very pricey. Had the Parmigiano soup $11 delicious and very rich. Ordered gnocchi which was as delicious but these two dishes together are far too rich! It's very frustrating that everything is online! Not a single paper menu this is extremely frustrating! Overall food is great but not my idea of a relaxing evening! Too much hype!

Yelp
Truly one of Canada's great restaurants. Went w family for a Saturday dinner during the holidays. Small plates to share and the food was sooo good I could barely get a photo. We had potato dauphine, sea bream crudo (fresh and delicious), the pork dish takes 40 minutes and is worth it. We also had steak tartar that was the best and made me fall off the vegetarian wagon hard! The rose we chose was delicious, buttery w citrus in photos. We also had sirloin that was tender and perfectly crusted. Try the cauliflower to balance out all that meat. We had sour cream ice cream w miso carmelized apples dessert that was unexpected and delicious.

Yelp
As always the food is delicious and the staff are amazing. We started with a bottle of 2018 La Ferme Du Mont that was delicious. Then the Striped Bass Crudo, Chicken Liver Tartine, Gnocchi Parisienne and the Grilled Striploin. For dessert we had the Citris Posset and Chocolate Ganache Torte. The food was amazing and the selections that were recommended by our server where spectacular. Always nice to try something different. We had a great evening and were feeling so good that we picked up the check for a young couple also seated on the patio.

Yelp
Bundok...one of the few fine dining places I haven't been to in Edmonton, so bday dinner here we go! Super cute tiny space no more than 30ish seats it doesn't seem like. Excellent trendy decor open kitchen area, giant booze selection. My kinda place! Pretty much a small plates style place with lots of cool options. We started with the fried chicken skins that come with this elegant honey mustard with cayenne sauce for dipping. This is worth the price of admission alone (which is zero but you get it) perfectly crispy, the sauce was just devine...the only problem we had with them is we ran out. Next we had yellowfin crudo with chili oil and some other various shaved vegetables. Fresh and beautiful. Not mind blowing but very tasty. Then the show stopper! Parisienne style Gnocchi in a leek ragu with mushrooms and bread crumbs...holy hell! This was THEE absolute best hands down..far and away the most excellent pillowy melt in your mouth gnocchi I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The need to chew was a wasted effort. Couldn't have been more perfect! Finished with a nice braised pork belly that was just good tbh. Tasted like any pork belly you slow cooked at home really. Rich and tasty tho Service was excellent other than my little pet peeve that always bugs me about places, especially fine dining. After you've booked the reso and under the little "is it a special occasion" box and you put in birthday. Our server also asked at the beginning of the experience if it was a special occasion...again birthday. Now I don't need like a dish comped or anything as fancy as that but throw in a dessert or a couple 3 oz glasses of cheap Prosecco into the mix. It just adds to the experience imho Other than than everything was pretty damn good...I would definitely just go back with a bottle of white wine and order chicken skins and gnocchi. Cheers Andy

Yelp
Until tonight, August 11, 2023, Bundok was one of our favorite restaurants. We've been going there since they opened, both as a couple and, for me, with friends and colleagues. It was always a special food and service experience. Tonight, we invited my sister-in-law who was visiting from Calgary to join us. She had never been there and we were confident everything would be as we remembered. The evening started okay. We ordered the olives, the chicken skins, the squash blossoms and a bottle of wine, which were tasty and came to our table quite quickly. The problem started when we ordered the kale salad, the gnocchi and the striploin. After more than 20 minutes when none of them had arrived, I asked the server how much longer we could expect to wait. She said, "He's working on it." No apology, no " sorry for the wait, your food will be right up." Nothing. About 10 minutes later, the gnocchi came, followed by the kale a few minutes later. Again, no apology from the server for making us wait. No indication of when the striploin would arrive. Another 15 -20 minutes went by and still no striploin. Food was being served all around us. By now it was 7:15, we'd been at the restaurant for 90 minutes, and were being virtually ignored by the server. Our wine wasn't being poured and we had no idea when we'd get the striploin. Finally, my husband asked for the bill, and said we weren't going to wait for the striploin. The server said, " Oh. Ok." She made no apology or attempt to get us to stay. I stopped by the bar on the way out and asked if I could speak to the manager. The bartender said, " Your server is the manager. Would you like to speak to her?" I couldn't believe that we'd just been served by the manager. When she finally came over, I expressed my disappointment and dissatisfaction with the evening. She asked was it the food or the service? When I said the service, she said, "Well, I'm sorry it wasn't up to your standards." Hardly an apology. When I told her that at other restaurants, when food was taking a long time to come out, I would usually get an apology or a reassurance or a complimentary dish or even in one case, an invitation from the manager for a complimentary meal at another time, she said, "Oh wow. I'll keep that in mind for next time." I said, " So you're not planning to do anything for me tonight?" She said, " I don't know what you expect me to do." I said, " You realize I'm leaving angry and that angry customers tend to leave angry reviews on social media?" "Yes, I know," she said. As the result of a manager who seemed not to care about our experience at the restaurant, Bundok plummeted from the status of favorite to don't know if we'll be back. We were embarrassed at how the evening ended for our guest and totally baffled by the manager's attitude. I always give the restaurant the chance to make things right before going to social media but, in this case, I had no other option.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my birthday with a friend and it was a marvelous meal of sharing plates. While I awaited my friend who was a bit delayed, I enjoyed their homemade root beer (which was lovely! I later tried their gingerale which wasn't as much my thing -- not gingery enough for my tastes -- but both were really rather refreshing!). We ate some marvelous meals including the chicken liver tartine, the broccoli with egg, the potate dauphin and the parisienne gnocchi. Dessert was the highlight of my meal however: the Citrus posset was marvelous. It was so refreshing and flavourful and included some of my favourite dessert flavours (raspberry! mint!). My companion enjoyed her hazelnut chocolate cake dessert too. All in all it was a lovely and indulgent meal. I'd love to come back. Service was good -- we had two women serving us and they seemed to be teaching each other how to do the best job. I was quite happy with the experience and our window table. There was even coat hooks behind my chair!

If you're looking to refresh your taste buds with some new flavours on your date night, Bündok is definitely a strong contender. Located in downtown, I was very impressed with the menu here as it offers very unique flavours. Despite the COVID restrictions, I thought that the service was really good and our server was very attentive The tuna credo was delicious, especially when it comes to fish in Alberta. The apple went great with the citrusy flavour and I loved the small hint of spice on it. The strip loin was the star of the meal, drizzled with this delicious black garlic sauce. We asked for it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly throughout, not one bit over or undercooked. The pork sausage was equally incredible and came with this delicious mustard sauce that had a hint of sweetness to it. Overall, this place definitely lives up to its Top 50 in Canada ranking and am excited to visit again.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times now and Bundok is on my list of the better places in the downtown area for sure. It's a small interior but nicely decorated and plenty of bar seating for busy times. Although it could be a great location for a romantic date, the menu is also great for sharing, so bring a couple friends for maximum opportunity to sample several things. The only thing I haven't been entirely impressed with is the fried chicken skin; it was a bit too hard and seemed a little overdone, whereas ideally it should be crispy but still melt-in-your-mouth when you bite into it. Apart from that though, the sirloin steak was delicious, the gnocchi was tasty but extremely rich (could only eat half), and the roast hen with miso and ginger glaze was probably the best of all. The cauliflower appetizer is great too, and I particularly like that some of their dishes are marked with a symbol meaning that each time someone orders that dish, they'll provide a meal to someone in need also. The cocktail menu seems excellent as well, besides a good wine list and standard cocktails, they have a section simply listing a type of base alcohol and a flavour style, and you can pick any one of each and they'll invent a cocktail for you. I picked "cachaca" and "sweet" and they came back with a rather delicious and slightly lavender-flavoured cocktail that I enjoyed a lot. You'll end up paying $30-40 for a main course, around $15 for a cocktail, and $10-20 for a dessert so it's not the cheapest place in town, but it's also quite within a reasonable range considering the quality of the food. One of the places I recommend to people visiting, and I'm sure I'll be back!

Yelp
Enjoyed our meal, and the atmosphere / service was great. However a few of our dishes were over salted. Will make a note to tell the server to watch out for that next time! Otherwise, great evening out!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service. What more can I say? ... oh right, the food... I came here for Saturday dinner service. My spouse and I booked a reservation for 5:45PM, this was the perfect time seeing as the restaurant immediately filled up following our seating. The menu is very eclectic, with a variety for everyone; everything is share style. We weren't in the mood for drinking but there was definitely an enticing cocktail menu as well as wine list, we actually opted for their in-house ice tea-- this was phenomenal, unsweetened, natural flavoured tea. Guys, the food is incredible and unique. This is what I fuck with in Edmonton. We ordered 4 dishes, "The Greens" "Fried Chicken Skin" "Gnocchi" and ""Striploin" but seriously. Try anything on the menu, it's a one sided-one pager but everything looked delicious. The greens was a very interesting pear salad with a savoury vinaigrette. The fried chicken skin is crunchy, oily and sprinkled with a honey mustard aioli. I can't describe the gnocchi because it was way to good. The steak was savoury, melt in your mouth goodness. There you have it. I'm done. I'm quite speechless. This is what Edmonton is about. I'm sick of all the fucking hipster-ass wannabe "104th street" restaurants with great branding and advertising. I'm not there to eat posters and logos. I'm there to eat food. Bündok isn't plastered all over social media, they aren't "in-your-face" ... I don't even know who runs the place. I actually want to meet the chef, I want to shake his hand and congratulate him for not conforming to the social scene. This guy, whoever he is, fucks. My total bill was around $80 for 4 plates and ice tea. This is incredible value. Fuck anyone else who says otherwise. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
Wow! The food here was absolutely delicious! And the ambiance was cozy and romantic. A great date place! My friend brought me here to celebrate one of my accomplishments and it was a delight. The plates are meant to be shared. There are many vegetarian options which is great to see. We ordered the Parmesan soup, the beet salad, the roasted cauliflower and the sea bream crudo. All we decadent and works of art. The soup comes to you with only the solid ingredients of bacon and onion and some cheese. The server than pours the creamy cheese broth over the ingredients and voila! You have your soup. It was so delicious- not too rich and the Parmesan didn't over power the other flavours. The best salad with the goat cheese was also excellent- always a wonderful combo to have together. The cauliflower was also equally delicious with the saltiness of the capers giving a nice added touch. The sea bream crudo was so soft it was like butter that melted in my mouth. It had a lovely Thai citrus sauce with bits of apple and chilli to give some heat and freshness. So good!! The service was excellent. I would even come here for drinks after work at the bar. A great way to end the week. I highly recommend this establishment. Come check it out!

Yelp
Wow, all I can say is I'm very impressed! This review was actually 4.5 stars... Hoping to go back again and try more things on the menu. Still don't understand how this place open without me really knowing about it until now! It's a small place beautifully decorated got a small bar maybe 40 seats... Really love the artwork that they had up in the bathrooms and the staff was very nice and attentive. The star here is the food I've got about 20 different menu items between the ranges of $12 - $28, and really great sharing plates. The size of these are quite big as well, four of us shared five dishes and it was more than enough. We tried the beef carpaccio, roasted Cauliflower, gnocchi, fennel salad, and the strip loin. The carpaccio was incredible, and fennel salad as well... the gnocchi and mushrooms give any Italian restaurant a run for their money...can't complain about the other dishes either....I really want to come back and try every single thing on here. Looks like a lot of thought has gone into this menu with the ingredients and combinations. They have some pretty cool cocktails here & an interesting wine list, we opted for the sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux... It was an excellent choice and fairly reasonably priced. I also tried an iced coffee which was very nice. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Lovely dinner here last night. The gnocchi was excellent and my favourite part of the meal. Ribs were cooked really well and tasted wonderful. The broccoli was delicious. I also tried the chocolate cake which was good. The best part about the cake was the sauce and nuts on the plate. Together they made the cake great. Service was great. My desert took a long time to arrive so was on the house which was a really nice surprise as we had not complained. I also really enjoyed my seat near the kitchen so I could watch things being prepared. I liked the trendy look of the place, my boyfriend wished it was slightly more upscale. Portion sizes are not overly large but we were quite satisfied with our three dishes, and left stuffed. They was more that I wanted to try so we will be back.

Yelp
Air Canada's Top 10 New Restaurants led us to Bündok where a few of us got together for dinner. We each picked a dish to share amongst ourselves. The sea bream crudo arrived first: looked very pretty, but the taste of the dish itself was subpar. It didn't feel like the apples brought anything to the dish; they were bland and was just diced up and thrown on top of the fish. I found the basil to be pretty overwhelming. A friend declared that she could probably make the same dish at home herself. We next had the chicken liver tartine - the favorite of the group. The chicken liver was so incredibly smooth and creamy. The aforementioned friend wondered aloud if she could buy some chicken liver and make it this creamy at home. The gnocchi and cauliflower arrived together. The gnocchi was so soft, it melted in your mouth in a puddle of creaminess. The same aforementioned friend said there was no way that it was gnocchi, but yes, friend, it was gnocchi, and it was goooooooooood. The cauliflower was ok; I felt it was nothing special. Not sure why it didn't come cut up into smaller pieces either. A coworker had raved about the chicken skins, and really, can you go wrong with fried chicken skins? The answer is yes, you can go wrong when you expect too much. I think the over-hype was what led to my disappointment in the dish. It was nothing special at all, and the honey mustard might have been better served as a dip versus drops on the skin itself. I was still hungry and convinced the others to try the other tartine - the sweet pear. Good choice, equally delicious as the savory tartine. However, I was not much fuller after this dish. Oddly enough, everyone else. Either way, the dessert menu didn't really appeal to us, so we decided to call it a night and head elsewhere to fill me up with dessert. Great service, dishes came out pretty fast. We were done our entire meal in under an hour. Located right on 104 st, which means no free parking, and limited street parking available. Free wifi available.

Yelp
I had a really nice experience at this restaurant. It's intimate and quiet. Perfect to unwind and enjoy a nice meal. The servings are quite large for one, but yet could be a bit small for two. I ate solo tonight and there was definitely enough for one. I started with an amaretto sour which was really nice. It had an apricot flavour. Unexpected but pleasant. I'd recommend the cocktail, but I'm surprised they don't do more experimental cocktails here given the nature of the restaurant. I highly recommend the kale and kohlrabi salad with puffed rice. It was suggested by my waiter. It was really unique and delicious, yet indescribable. There is a great umami flavour and the rice gives a wonderful crunch. You might be skeptics for a 17$ salad, but it's great. Following that was the roasted hen. It was delicious at first bite. Very charcoaly, tender, and juicy. The leeks and chars and potatoes were all delicious and had individual flavour, which was really nice. It was also butchered very nicely. The only downside of this dish was that it was saltier than I think it should have been. The chicken might be brined and then marinated/seasoned with even more salt. It got pretty potent as time went on. The leeks were the star of the show. I wish there were more. I'd recommend this spot if you're interested in a pricier meal on the safe side of things.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner a couple weeks ago and had a marvelous experience and also vastly enjoyed the food. As per usual with downtown, parking is limited so come early for your reservation so you find a spot. As well, it seems to book up quickly and it is recommended you make a reservation a few weeks in advance if you want to dine during a more busy time such as Friday or Saturday nights. It is well worth the wait and prices are very affordable. They are all share-size plates so between my husband and I, we ordered four dishes and that was plenty. By far, the striploin and the pork ribs were my favourite dishes. They were so flavorful, with the meat melting in your mouth. I cannot rave enough about these amazing meat dishes. In addition, the gnocchi and the honey mustard chicken strips were also fantastic. Honestly, the entire menu looked superb that it was very difficult for my husband and I to narrow down the choices. They also have a bountiful cocktail menu; it's a very cute little place with a mellow ambience so I could see it being perfect for snacks and drinks with friends in addition to a romantic night out. I had a cucumber Collins and I really enjoyed it. The service was also excellent. We had such a great time and we can't wait to come back again to try out more of the menu!

Yelp
Been wanting to try this restaurant for some time given all the hype. We were not disappointed. Great vibe inside...cozy with open kitchen so you can see the magic happen, great tunes, and excellent service. The assortment of cold plates, small plates and mains are all meant to be shared, so we ordered the sea bream crudo, kale, fried polenta and sirloin with black garlic butter. Every dish was so tasty...well thought out, great presentation, fresh ingredients...but most importantly, made with a lot of attention to detail. Good cocktails and wine list, and for dessert we shared the chocolate cake.

Yelp
Located in the Fox condo tower, Bundok is a 40 seat restaurant with Chef Ryan Hotchkiss at the helm. As you walk in you are greeted by a beautiful stocked bar followed by the open kitchen, both of which are surrounded by ample seating for post-work drinks or a casual dinner. Throughout the dining room, dim lighting and minimalist decor give the space an upscale feel perfect for a more intimate dining experience. The menu at Bundok is separated into two sections - breads/tartines and larger plates. While the menu isn't extensive, there's enough variety between the plates that there will be something for everyone. Everything on the menu can be shared, so we started our evening with the four different tartines on the menu. All the tartines are served on lightly crisped bread made in house. First up came the Grilled Apple Tartine ($9) featuring grilled Pink Lady Apples, Oka cheese, and clover honey. I've never bought into the appeal of combining cheese with apples, but the combination worked on this tartine. I loved the softened, grilled texture of the apples against the bread, and the sweetness of the honey paired great with the cheese. The Lamb Merguez Tartine ($10) with mint salad and yogurt with baby kale arrived next. The tartines were topped with a generous amount of the sausage, which was well seasoned and not overly gamey. There were hints of the mint and yogurt, but I would have appreciated a bit more. Next up came the Chicken Liver Tartine ($8) with onion jam and a sprinkling of coarse salt. The pate was very smooth and the sweetness from the onion jam helped bring out the flavour of the liver, while the bits of salt added a hint of savoury to balance out the sweet. The tartines themselves didn't look appetizing, but the flavours definitely made up for it. Last but not least came the Beef Tartare ($11), which at first I didn't realize was served as a tartine. The tender cubes of beef had been mixed with egg yolk and pickled black mustard seeds before being garnished with a citrusy kale leaf. The beef was just lightly seasoned and I enjoyed the bits of acidity coming through from the mustard seeds. Our last appetizer was the one that had the interest of the entire table the moment we first scanned the menu: Fried Chicken Skin ($8). Each order comes with two pieces of melt-in-your-mouth, crispy chicken skin. It's a salty, one-bite appetizer complemented well with a dab of honey mustard. You'll want to order enough for one piece per person because you would be a fool to share your piece with someone else. For our dinner we opted to share three larger dishes off the menu amongst the four of us. Our first choice was the Pan Fried Trout ($25) served with carrots, great northern beans, and a rich beurre blanc. The trout was seared perfectly golden, giving it a nice crust before breaking away into the soft flesh of the fish. Unfortunately we found the dish to be underseasoned, and the beans could have been cooked a bit softer for my liking. Our second protein dish was the Grilled Game Hen ($25), herb marinated and accompanied by charred cabbage, mushrooms, and wheat berries. I was happy to see wheat berries on the menu as they're a great Canadian grain and one that I feel are underappreciated. I love the chew and texture to them! Like the trout, our game hen was beautifully cooked, but again the other components of the dish could have used more seasoning. As a side to our mains we ordered the Gnocchi Parisienne ($18) cooked in a brown butter sauce with roasted squash. The gnocchi looked amazing covered in a dusting of grated cheese. Each piece was a soft pillow of dough with a hint of nuttiness from the brown butter. Unfortunately, like our mains, a heavier hand could have been used in seasoning to make this dish truly stand out. We ended our meal with one of each of the desserts available on the menu. The Chocolate Tart ($9) looked different from a typical tart, this one with a cookie-like tart base topped with a layer of dark chocolate and three little meringues. I found the base to be a little thick and dry for my liking, but appreciated that the tart wasn't overly sweet. The Citrus Posset ($9) was my preference of the two. Bundok's version was silky smooth with a sharp, but not overpowering, hit of citrus. The posset was topped with chunks of apple, fennel, and earl grey syrup, all which added contrasting texture and contrasting sweetness. I would happily have a bowl of this dessert all to myself. I applaud Bundok's commitment to using and showcasing Canadian ingredients, so the menu will be changing seasonally to reflect availability of produce. I personally loved the feel of the space and it's a great spot for dinner before a concert or game at Rogers Place given that it's within walking distance to the arena. Our dinner at Bundok had some hits and misses, but hopefully a bit of time will bring more consistency to the dishes coming out of the kitchen.

Yelp
Plates were a little small, but delicious and flavorful. I suggest the pomme dauphine, gnocchi, and pork ribs.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere, servers clothes were unacceptable for this higher priced restaurant.

Yelp
Nice little spot in downtown Edmonton. They have a small menu with an interesting mix of food that is definitely going to please a wide variety of palettes. I really enjoyed the deep blue walls & the soft lighting. Tried a few things, but the gnocchi was probably one of the best ones I have had- soft & pillowy.

Yelp
Bündok is amazing! We went here for my husband's birthday and I was so excited to try the food because I had heard great things. And they didn't disappoint. The menu is made for sharing so you order between 3-5 plates for two people. Everything was delicious but the standout items we had were pommes dauphine, peach and tomato salad and an amazing striploin with black garlic butter. Omg. Also the sour cream ice cream is so good.

Yelp
A friend and I decided to try Bundok tonight after months of talking about it. I wish I had gone earlier because I was missing out! I really loved the concept of the restaurant where the items are shareable. My friend and I tried the asparagus, the cauliflower, the pork ribs and the gnocchi. Everything was perfect. As was the service and the pricing. I'll be back before I know it I'm sure!

Yelp
Loving the small plate concept. Compliments to the chefs for creating new dishes. Everything we shared was fantastic. Service was perfect. All the servers were very knowledgeable with food suggestions.

Yelp
What a great restaurant! Tucked away a block or two from the Rogers Center, it's part of a growing group of chef-owned restaurants in Edmonton. And it shows. It's a beautiful little room, but the food is the main star. The Sea Bream was so subtle in the olive oil and lemon. This is a fish you don't see much of in Canada, outside of sushi bars, and rarely at all at this quality. Loved it. Chicken liver can often get tired pretty quick, but this Tantine was great from start to finish with the sweet onion jam bringing some high notes to all that richness. Riding on perfectly crunchy toast. I wanted more. I've never had a deep fried poached egg before, but the one riding on the grilled broccoli has made me a Fan. The broccoli was good by itself, grilled smokey and citrusy with a great crunch, and then the egg with it's own crunch and creamy center. Yum. The yolk was a little firmer than I prefer, so I'll ask for it softer next time. I need to go back soon and try some of the other dishes I saw come out of that little kitchen. Love supporting the independent chef owned shops. Too many giant soul-less chains out there, Go Local !!

Yelp
Excellent. More of a tapas style sharing menu but everything from the service to the drinks to the food was excellent. A must go .
google avatar

Yelp
Chef Ryan Hotchkiss has created a memorable tapas menu that works together, flows well, and has balanced flavours. The tartine bread plates are two slices of sourdough/french bread that have been cut in half so there are 4 pieces on each order. The apple tartine comes with apple sauce, apple slices, and cheese that were grilled/toasted. I love the cheese apple combination and the sweetness of the apple sauce lends itself to a dessert. The beef tartar also comes on 4 pieces of bread with a handful of lightly dressed arugula. I found that the pickled mustard seeds provided a bright flavor and crunch however I wanted more acid and seasoning in the beef. Getting fresh cracked pepper helped bring out the rest of the flavors. A pinch of sea/Maldon salt would have improved it as well but I always prefer under seasoning to over. The first course of 5 gougeres cames out quickly and were warm and tasty. Thyme and Gruyere in bread compliment each other and they were crispy on the outside. I could use more Gruyere and maybe a herb butter for some additional complexity but they were great just the way they were. The chicken skins were exactly as advertised: crispy, warm, and perfectly seasoned. The dalops of honey mustard made me think of an elevated chicken wing, but only the best parts. The game hen came with the roasted cauliflower and that was an excellent decision. The half hen already had two sides so it was essentially a main course for $18. The hen was still moist and whatever technique the chef used flavor was infused into the meat. The cabbage slaw and bulger wheat paired well and mixing in the cauliflower increased the complexity and flavor combinations. The roasted cauliflower was probably the big hit of the night! We only got the $7 smaller plate and it was still approx a quarter of a head. The roasting time achieved some blackening which were the tastiest parts. Then adding creme fraiche and capers was a stroke of genius! We kept going back to dip into the creme and there was the perfect amount of capers that you could have some with each bite. The cauliflower itself kept it's structure but gave way like butter when you used your razor sharp steak knife. We were interested in their dessert options but 6 courses filled us up and we didn't want to be uncomfortablely full. The room is cozy, industrial style with lofted ceilings in the front and an open kitchen. The service was efficient, considerate, and helpful. Our 6 dishes with a 6oz red wine and iced Earl Grey tea made to order came to under $80 before tip. For the quality, volume, and variety of food/dishes I am very happy with the price point. Bundok is under a month old and they are already hiting their stride and finding their niche in the growing Edmonton food scene. I will be back to try future menus and I wish them only the best of luck and success!

Yelp
I came in for late night wine and snacks with my family. We had a fantastic time here. Their wine list is extensive if you're ordering by the bottle. But they have only a few options if you're ordering by the glass. My favorites of the evening were the apple tartine with oka cheese, chicken liver tartine and citrus posset dessert. All the other dishes we ordered were also delicious but those were my top picks of the evening. The service was excellent and food came out quickly and at a great pace for us to finish one dish before moving on to the next. Overall, excellent experience here and I will definitely return!!!

Yelp
A great recommendation by a friend of mine. Only reso we could make was later at night but that didn't stop us from gorging ourselves with the delicious dishes. 1. Kohlrabi: recommended by our server and was fantastic. The puffed wild rice added the perfect crunch texture. 2. Beet and pear salad: a person in my party has a pear allergy and the after informing our server, the kitchen accommodated by substituting Apple for pear which worked very well. 3. Sea bream crudo: voted best dish of the night by majority vote for my group. SO DELICIOUS! 4. Beef carpaccio: good but a touch too 5. much shredded cheese for our liking. 6. Fried chicken skin: OMG. I was the junk food junkie of the table this night as I ate the most of this dish. Absolutely delicious simple dish. 7. Roasted pork ribs: another recommendation from our server. seemed to be a touch of Asian cuisine influence for this one. Gave a sense of nostalgia for us. 8. Roasted cauliflower: such a simple dish yet so flavourful. 9. Gnocchi: another reco by our server. Not your traditional gnocchi, a parisienne gnocchi. A delightful change from what we were used to. Seems like we ate half the menu and we'll be back for the other in the sequel.

Yelp
Beef Tartare, Chicken Liver Tartine, Chicken Skin, Gnocchi, Grilled Game Hen, Chocolate Semi-Freddo I'm missing some dishes in this review because IG only lets 10 pictures max, but whatever let's get to it. Beef Tartare and the Chicken Liver Tartine tasted as they should, no surprises here, but I did enjoy the chicken liver a bit more just because of the pear jam. Chicken Skin is something I feel like more restaurants will do once they realize people will pay for chicken skin and regular ass chicken without skin for the same price. Something i've noticed at the yakitori in Japan, more money for same amount of chicken. Anyways the Chicken skin here had honey mustard and thyme which went well with the saltiness of the skin. The Gnocchi here is probably the best in Edmonton, imo. It had roasted brussel sprouts and squash, but the best part was the gnocchi melted in your mouth and had such a good flavor, much like M&M's. The Grilled Game Hen was the reason we came here and it didn't disappoint. Served with charred cabbage, wheat berries and chicken jus, this dish had some strange sides to the protein but it was a good combo, go eat it. We had both offerings of dessert but the Chocolate Semi-Freddo was best because....chocolate. Not pictured in the review were pork ribs, which looked and tasted like pork ribs. Also was the fish dish which I forgot what it was but, I could confidently say it tasted aight. Bundok is located downtown in a cozy spot on 104 st. Great service and cocktails, be sure to make a reso and go when there isn't a hockey game (GO OILERS GO) so you can park on the street. Sal says: Just Try It

Yelp
Went with a friend last night. Was really looking forward to trying a new place. Close to Rogers place as we are season ticket holders I thought this might be a great option. Started with the cheese puffs. They were very dry. Not what I would expect at all. I had the gnocchi, the flavors were very good. I especially like the sautéed Brussels sprouts But the gnocchi it's self was mushy, the over all dish was very oily. My friend had the fried chicken skin which she really enjoyed. Not my thing, so I didn't try it. Desert was tasty (only 2 options). The overall menu is very small, but I don't mind that as long as the food is high quality. We were there on an Oilers game night and the place was dead. 2 other tables occupied. I really feel a better sign out front might help. My friend and I both had a hard time finding it. The upside is that we had great service.

Yelp
An excellent addition to downtown Edmonton. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Great wine list, and interesting and delicious menu. I'm Gluten-Free with some other allergies and because everything is made to order, it was easy to accommodate when needed. But honestly, so much was already Gluten-Free this wasn't really necessary. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Tonight was our first meal at Bundok. It certainly won't be the last. The location is perfect, the interior is super sexy and warm. Most importantly, the food is extremely tasty. Combine this with exceptional service and Bundok is a hit. From the roasted cauliflower to the crispy chicken skins to the fennel salad and pork ribs, it was all delicious. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The food and environment is the perfect date night spot in the yeg area. This is the perfect place if you like share plates. Every plate is delicious down to the desert. Here are some of my favs. Sea Bream Crudo - this is a fresh balanced light dish to start the evening and a must every time I come here Beef carpaccio - this is probably my favourite dish here after the crudo. Everything in this plate just goes so well that you are always craving another bite. Chicken skin - crunchy goodness Cauliflower - a dish so simple but so good. The perfect roast and sauce really highlight the humble cauliflower. A must even if you don't like vegetable. Chicken liver pate - if you love chicken liver you are going to love this one. And it's not just grayish mush here. They always make it look pretty here Chicken Sausage - juicy and perfectly balanced with the carrot to cut out the heaviness Dessert - just order it. It's different every time I come but it never disappoints

Yelp
Good ambiance in good location. The food was inspired and good, although the duck was over seasoned with salt. Sea Bream crudo was exceptional, steak tartare very good, the broccoli was also very good. The cocktail list and bar selection is well done and the cocktails are very good. The wine list is brief - it could use some expansion. The service is very poor. We sat for 15 minutes before being greeted. Questions about the cocktail list and meals were found to be annoying and responded to curtly. This establishment is unique in that it charges for tastes off their "by the glass list". This list is not made up of stellar or well known wines. Therefore we asked for assistance to guide us. This was an inconvenience to the server. When we described what we liked she pointed to one wine. When asked to describe she said; "Well, this wine maker makes red wines and white wines - so he is very good. It is full bodied. You will like it." My wife pursued more information and it only got worse. We elected to taste and she said she would see IF this was possible? It was. In sum, every request of the staff was an apparent burden on them. Solution: delegate the current staff to runners and have one other person managing customer service. If you are going to charge for tastes off your wine list and you hire people that don't have the faintest idea about wine - provide descriptions - a very cheap fix. Overall the experience was good but the service was truly grade-school at best.

Yelp
Price point is great, food is fantastic, service is above average and the atmosphere is relaxing. Bravo.

Yelp
Dined there today with my boyfriend. The sea bream dish was amazing and they carried seedlip, a non alcoholic spirit, which i was happy about because im pregnant. The service was awesome and i really enjoyed myself. Will definitely dine there again!
