Bungalows Calalú

Excellent location close to many good restaurants and bars. I especially liked the live salsa music at Hot Rocks. Inma is a very nice host/owner. The cabins are nice, well constructed, quite clean. No chair to sit except outside on the porch. No minifridge or microwave — I ate delicious meals several blocks away. De Gustibus Bakery breakfast. Como en la Gloria (Spanish)was the best!!! Shower has an inline heater but basically it is cool showering. Pool is nice. They keep it clean. And, for the price, this was quite good. Pix of some animals outside my door.

We had a Great time at Calalu Bungalows. Everything was really clean and generous. Inma was very nice and helped us a Lot during our stay. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We had a lovely stay at this place we even decided to return! The staff were attentive and very friendly. A really nice pool and terrace environment. Comfortable beds and amazing AC! Location was also fantastic!

We found this hidden gem looking for last minute accommodations. Host was extremely gracious. Room was beyond my expectations. Clean and very well priced. Private pool was refreshing and had laundry service. Outdoor kitchen was an added bonus. Next time I go to Puerto Viejo, i WILL be staying here again. 100% RECOMMENDED!!

They are near the main Puerto Viejo Street, a lot of restaurants, places to rent a bike, supermarkets, etc. The rooms are nice, we stayed in the standard bungalow and it was ok. It is clean and simple. The price is ok and it is one of the few places in Puerto Viejo with a swimming pool. The customer service was ok as well. The only thing I did not like was that the outlets in the bathroom did not work properly, I tried to charge my phone and only 1 of the 4 outlets worked. Other than that, it is a really nice place.

So far the worse experience I’ve had in a hotel. Really dirty, the toilet was totally and very unpleasantly stained, the bathroom door couldn’t be closed and there were garbage from other guests, we found a neck lace and even WOMAN UNDERWEAR (see the picture). And if it wasn’t enough, the AC didn’t work properly, it just was making weird and loud noises and it couldn’t cold the room.

We stayed for 5 nights in these wonderfull bungalows. Imma was very nice, the pool is small but great and clean. The bungalows was clean and the kitchen well equipment. From the terrasse we saw hummingbirds, lizards, beautifull colored birds and squirrels. |It was all together a top quality familie stay

Kind hosts and clean, airy bungalows set in a lush tropical setting await you here. There is a pool for cooling off, great spaces for reading and relaxing, and you are minutes away from the bustling streets of Puerto Viejo.||The space we stayed had a double and single bed - not like sleeping on clouds - so prepay to do some morning stretches. There was a daily cleaning service included as well. ||This is an affordable, quiet (except for the nearby howler monkeys), charming spot to stay.
