Every time I’m in Vegas I stay at a hidden place behind the Stratosphere it’s a twin bed with a curtain shared room with same Gender or mix. U buy ur own food at a nearby grocery called Albertsons and u label ur bags with ur name and ur date of checkout. There are lockers so bring ur own lock. And ur own nice long towel for there towels can be used for a shower Matt. The price is worth a nice sleep. Bring ur own sheets and pillow cases to put over there’s. What this place needs is Goodwill/Salvation army kitchen appliances. A nice large microwave, a nice toaster, and forks and good cutting knives and plates and bowls. Asside from this it’s totally a money saver what I don’t like are locals staying there. At check-in I saw women who looked like they were street women on a corner and men who looked homeless. I’m hoping when I return in May of 2026 not to see these shady characters. I just want to feel safe when I visit for a weekend from Texas.

The Bungalows Hostel (formerly Hostel Cat) is a vibrant, community-driven oasis in Las Vegas’ Arts District, offering a safe, welcoming environment for travelers to connect, grow, and thrive amid the city’s energy. With renovated rooms, engaging daily events, and caring staff fostering genuine friendships, it’s the ideal spot for honorable guests seeking authentic experiences over luxury isolation. Okay here is the deal !! I am reading reviews that sound like snot nose kids who have no idea what they rented. As a world traveler I understand the word H-O-S-T-E-L and these entitled reviewers are all wrong that down this place. Here is the real about this spot. 1. This is the lowest priced opportunity for those visiting Vegas 2. This is a shared living environment (Like OMG really!?? ) yeah really ! If you want privacy pay 35 dollars more a night elsewhere 🙄 3. This place has the friendliest staff I have ever encountered in a Hostel stay ( Try Germany and see what I mean 😱😂 ) they even allow you to stay on property till 9pm the day of check out giving you an opportunity to get your next steps put together. 4. There is a great kitchen and community center with many refrigerators to use. No one bothers your stuff as there are cameras everywhere. The TV room usually has a great movie on and good people to watch with. 5. As if you need any more reasons it is simple, if your on a budget and looking for a safe and chill place to stay it is here if you keep an open mind. This is my go to spot in Vegas as I tried all the others and for price and what you get Bungalow Hostel is your choice. I promise if you try it once you will understand 1 through 4 😉 Truth 🙌

This is my reviow as a solo female traveler. Ive been in many hostels around the world - from the cheapest to the more expensive. bungalows is the cheapest in Vegas. It checks all the boxes for a hostel. Its clean, well organized, and it feels safe! Theres a big common area outside where you can hang out. I spent some time walking around the area on a friday night. I did feel safe on the streets. Just have to have your street smarts about you. Be aware of your surroundings, keep your belongings close to you. It’s all well lit around you. Yes there are homeless people, but they keep to themselves. Overall I do enjoy staying here and would be happy to come again.

Google
The experience was ok. The staff were very friendly. They give you a fitted sheet, a top sheet, and a towel, but no blanket. There is no mention of needing to bring your own on the website and they keep the air conditioning very cold. There is not a hand towel or any paper towels in the bathroom. The facilities themselves are fine for a hostel, and the common area is very pleasant. I found everyone I ran into to be very friendly. Do be aware that it’s a pretty loud neighborhood. Definitely worth bringing noise cancelling headphones. It’s about a two minute walk to the Deuce bus, so very accessible to the strip. I don’t know that I would stay here again.

I really enjoyed the Bungalow Hostal..why? bed, the people (staff and other visitors) included. I really enjoyed the courtyard (it's beautiful, cozy. clean and lots of fun) also there was guest chef by the name of Bam, his food was delicious. I will definitely be back.

I think this is a very good place to stay. Especially if you’re traveling on a budget or just passing through. Whatever the case may be everybody. There is very kind and inclusive and invites you to movie night and barbecue rather events they have, and someone’s always cooking bringing food to the table, or going on outings together. People talk about the neighborhood. Not being the best, but it’s fairly safe and anytime of day or night. As long as you’re not looking for trouble, and the rooms are fairly clean. Maybe not as luxurious as someone would want, but if that’s the case, then elsewhere, and you could find it at a much higher price than this personalexperience. I think this is like a community, and everybody gets treated like friends or family, and all the staff. There’s very kind and helpful and understanding.

Review: Bungalow Hostel, Las Vegas If you’re traveling on a low budget, the Bungalow Hostel in Las Vegas is definitely one of the cheapest places you can stay. For that reason alone, it can be a good option if you’re trying to save money. That said, there are some important things to be aware of. The neighborhood isn’t the best and it’s quite a walk from both Downtown (about 30 minutes) and the Strip (around 60 minutes on foot). Luckily, there’s a bus nearby that gets you to the Strip relatively quickly and with a decent connection. The facilities, especially the bathrooms, leave a lot to be desired. The showers didn’t look very clean, and I even saw cockroaches in the bathroom. The hostel is also located right next to a strip club, which plays loud music in the evenings, so if you’re a light sleeper, that might be an issue. On the positive side, the staff at the hostel are friendly and helpful, and they do their best to assist you with whatever you need. Most of the guests staying here seemed to be street musicians, surviving off what they earn while performing. While I personally didn’t feel too uncomfortable, I wouldn’t recommend walking around the area at night, especially if you’re not used to rougher neighborhoods. I’m a 21-year-old guy and felt okay, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind. Overall: good for the price, but only if you’re okay with compromising on comfort and safety.

Yelp
My first time staying in a hostel, it was interesting! Definitely not a 5-star hotel, and this review will not rate the experience as if it was one. The parking is shared with a strip club. Find a spot before the club opens, or good luck finding a spot. The security from the strip club asked why I was parking there and I did have to show my parking slip. My advice is to park before it gets too late, or you may have issues. The shared area was nice, and there were people enjoying eachothers company and having a few drinks. I would have joined them, but had to be up early so I just went to bed. The bunks are small, and the AC was barely keeping up with the heat. The ladders to get to top bunks are small and it was not super easy to crawl into my bunk. The really loud squeaking of the bed with the smallest motion made it hard to not disrupt others while getting situated for bed. One in the bunk, there was a light, and a curtain for privacy. That was it. No perks. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. It scurried quickly. The shower was small and hard to maneuver in, but it worked. Overall, for the price, I would absolutely return. Its not the Bellagio, but it also is one tenth the cost. I would not bring kids here (if they allow them).

Yelp
This place is amazing. Great place to lay your head down. Anthony was amazing during my booking. Give that man a raise.

Yelp
What can I NOT say about this place? amazing ambiance, friendly warm staff, and for the cheapest price in Las Vegas, on the Las Vegas strip? Couldn't have asked for more.

Yelp
PERSONAL INFO SECURITY RISK POOR LOCATION Keeps changing names also... Hostel Cat, etc.?! CHEAP IS SOMETIMES MORE EXPENSIVE & NOT WORTH PERSONAL SAFETY OR FINANCIAL/ PERSONAL INFO SECURITY RISK!!! Please sort reviews by most recent & see "not recommended" reviews! place has gone downhill & WAS NOT good when I tried staying June 2023 on way back from Phoenix funeral (to a northern western state). I should have a sounded alarm earlier, & other Yelp & TripAdvisor more recent (2 years) reviews could be helpful as well! I find it very concerning & interesting that under prior name Hostel Cat, previous guest raised alert about personal info security because I experienced what's apparently usual policy of TAKING A PICTURE OF YOUR ID ON AN ANDROID PHONE SO IT IS BACKING UP TO GOOGLE ETC. I don't know if it's still happening as Bungalows Hostel but please don't do it or allow it!!! I SLEPT IN MY CAR IN THEIR LOT scan for validity or taking photocopy of guest ID (that's routinely shredded after x days, maybe 3-6 months after stay) is more normal for REPUTABLE hotels & hostels. And I doubt if apparently homeless residents (who are supposedly working to stay there) had to show ID, let alone had it photoed & saved in a phone for anyone to access or try to use. younger people don't necessarily realize this is a HUGE red flag, but some of us know how things were done when there were just basic computers & mostly PAPER records, especially for backup documentation purposes. With identity theft & hacking at unprecedented levels, please please PLEASE do not allow anyone to take a picture or save a digital copy of your ID ever! They can write down info that's needed & give you a privacy policy in writing that states how long they keep a physical photocopy until they SHRED/ DESTROY it etc. If they don't or won't then they're not a reputable person or business & they don't need your money or info! If this means your trip or stay is unaffordable & you can't do it, then please DON'T go, because it's SO not worth it. I wanted to give 3 stars & give the benefit of the doubt about the rest of what would have been the stay, but other reviews reinforced that this place is just 1 BIG RED FLAG so only 1 star. initial instinct to give 3 stars also shows how PATIENT I am because that's even after I spent the night in my vehicle in their CREEPY prkg lot where you're officially not supposed to park overnight I guess. The strip club next door is official parking. I was passing through on weekend night in June 2023 and no hotels would even answer phone! None! I called about 15 hotels/ motels/ hostels. Which stems from a problem with most online hotel res systems! it was late enough that most online reservations wouldn't let me make a res for THAT night, even though it was still 10 or 11 PM! And it was late enough that I also wasn't taking a chance on making an online res & not actually be able to check in if noone was at the front desk still or whatever. They're 95% full on a weekend night & clearly don't give a crap about anyone else who might need a room and most don't bother telling you on websites or phone msgs that they don't answer the phone or take reservations after 10 PM RIDICULOUS! not even ones that charge $300 or $200 a night and I could only afford about $100 a night or less, so that meant I just showed up at this supposed hostel to try to get a bed. I ended up "sleeping" in car for night in their parking lot & saw a few shady or plain crazy things happen and glad I was in a locked vehicle! yet it was fairly quiet most of the time lol I didn't and wasn't allowed to stay when I found out firsthand their questionable handling of SENSITIVE personal info and also realized I could find no privacy practices statement or anything on their website regarding such, which is illegal at least for CA residents, and just shady and potentially LIFE-ALTERING for others; please check into it! Pros: it's inexpensive and there were supposedly beds available still, late on a Saturday summer night. I showed up before 1 am deadline to check in, as stated on website at that time that no one's at front desk until later in the morning. (More recent reviews state the check-in deadline may be 11 PM or midnight so be aware of that!) Cons: besides personal info, privacy and security risks & violations: They deserve 1 (or zero if it were possible) stars because it's not handicap accessible just to check in. And I'm not sure how that's not illegal!!! And I'm pretty sure a wheelchair could NOT get through the door. But the doorbell just to ring the front desk person, to let you in to begin with, was high up on an exterior wall by the door. And at least one review said they will NOT make an accommodation if you can't get up and down from a top bunkbed! That is definitely illegal, and even if it's not illegal, it's immoral. I truly hope you don't ever feel you "have" to stay there. Vegas uggh anyway

Yelp
Initially cool good front staff but awkward inside with patrons and run down bbq, game tables, and facilities. Didn't use bed sheets because didn't smell clean. Parking in back by strip club Talk of the Town, unsafe. Fees were expensive compared to Sin City next door. Good for quick, short nights sleep.

Yelp
I have tried to book ion this hostel for a friend for 3 nights, and was charged thru booking.com. Upon arrival at the hotel the reception attendant asked me for another credit card as my initial stay was said to have only been approved for 1 night, and needs to pay extra for the parking fee and additional hostel charges. This is so frustrating as a budget traveller.

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The rooms aren't nearly as spacious as they appear in their ads. I can understand, at 6'10", I'm not an ideal candidate for bunk beds so no big surprise there. There was less than 2 feet distance between beds in the isles. Parking is $5 a day for an unsecured gravel lot. They don't actually have disabled parking, as it was rudely explained by a short African American woman with tons of negative demeanor my entire stay...good thing I only paid for 2 days. The rest of the staff were fairly pleasant. Not sure what her problem was but it was my birthday vacay so I didn't really care! They have very spacious common and kitchen areas. They say no guest are allowed but dude was bringing in a couple girls at a time, IJS‍ The front desk was totally fine with it.

Yelp
This place has gone downhill. Poor management and things that were fun like billiards and corn hole are weathered and broken. Staff will not move you if you can't get up and down from bunk beds. Which I feel is inconsiderate and shameful. And outdoor kitchen is neglected. Fridge was disgusting.

Yelp
My phone and headphone cords were stolen. This place is like jail but you pay for it. Homeless drug addicts come in and out. My room had all men, except me, over the age of 45 and they were various states of unwell. Place smells like shit. The beds aren't made, they give you the stuff to do it and it's not clean to begin with. There were 2, yes 2 disgusting homeless people in the bunk under me.

Omar A.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE - TERRIBLE SERVICE AND DIRTY BEDDING TLDR: Horrible service, slept in disgusting dirty sheets without knowing, meth heads all around, Terrible management. If 0 stars was possible I would give this place 0 stars. I had a HORRIBLE experience here. I had arrived in Vegas to go straight to a concert, it was pretty late but I got to the hostel at about 12 am. First Issue: I had pre-booked using Klarna, so I made the purchase ahead of time, however when going to pay, the guy at the front desk said that the fees that you need to pay must be on the same card, and since I don't have Klarna card, I was forced to pay my debit card. This is something they do not tell you ahead of time, and saw 2 different parties of people get affected by this the next morning. Second issue(MAIN ISSUE): After I paid the stay, the guy told me to grab my bedding from the cabinet that was right next to the desk, I looked and told him there was nothing in there, and he replied "aw shit", so he got up and went to the back and got me a bedding pack, a pillowcase with a towel, bedsheets, a blanket, and a coverlet. I didn't think anything of it. I went to my hostel and it was almost 1 am, so the other occupants had already been asleep, it was really dark so I used my phone screen to provide minimal light as not to disturb the other occupants, I put my bag in the locker and hopped straight to bed. I was DISGUSTED waking up the next morning to find that I had slept on dirty sheets, I immediately grab my stuff and go to check out, I showed the woman the sheets and she checked me out, she said she could not issue me a refund, but if I contacted the manager that they would refund me. I will attach pictures below of the sheets and the interaction with the manager. I showed the manager the pictures in my email and they said they looked into it and said that the sheets were not dirty, like what lol, there's literally holes and BLACK markings on the blanket, if that is the definition of clean and that's what they are handing out to guests that is just vile. Third issue: The location was just so bad, it was littered with drug users, not like marijuana, like meth users, when I was checking in, another guest came in and was telling the woman he was with that he just called the ambulance on the guy right outside the hostel because he became unresponsive and how the ambulance came and just left him there. Very dangerous area, I have read all the reviews about all the theft, thank god I purchased a lock for my locker. I only saw one occupant when I woke up, he was so weird, I think this place is for grifters, he had a bunch of stuff under his bunk, looked like he had been there for a while, he was stretching his feet, and I got out of the bunk and said hey, and he just looked at me with no response. Guy was in his 40's. I tried to dispute the charge with my bank and they were unable to file the claim because I had technically accepted the bedding and slept in it, even though I did not see it. Since it was dark and late and one would obviously assume that an establishment would only give you clean bedding. NEVER staying here again, such a horrible experience, sleeping in the airport was better and free, highly recommended if you can't find a place to stay, secure, cold and free. I didn't want to stay here but it was the only and option there was because everything was sold out or very expensive($150+/night).

Ryan S.

Yelp
Kelsea S. (see her review) is Crazy or just boring.... This is a hostel....if you are going to write 21 paragraphs about how bad a place is on the outskirts of Vegas...past the Stratosphere....with a community most people have found to be welcoming, supportive and open to everyone...assuming you don't have Kelsea S's shitty attitude...all for $29/night...then go F yourself... Hey Jessica....I'm on my way for F1...Oh and Kat...I have confidence you made the correct decision to ban this person...
google avatar

Shar S.

Yelp
Hostel Cat is a decent hostel, no major complaints here. It's fairly clean, and colorful in decoration. The only thing I would say is that the check-in process was pretty painful (I stayed here during the height of the pandemic), and also it's in kind of a sketch area, lol.
google avatar

Yelp
I was uncertain never stayed in a hostel before. It's in a shetchy part of town. I had a great time and met some fun and very interesting and smart people. They had a little party on Saturday night with beer, wine, and some bit sized food. I even won the beer pong tournament with my buddy Sterling. The people who work here and the guests make this place happen. Lots of fun, interesting, nice, and attractive ( women ) people. Don't be dissuaded by the location. Besides a lot of wedding chapels are across the street. You can get married Friday night and divorced Sunday morning.

B H.

Yelp
Hostel has poor hours, and if you show up after midnight you won't be able to get in, and you'll just be a sitting duck for the criminals that prey on tourists there. I "stayed" there this past week and was attacked outside (and couldn't get in- so I had to escape and book a room elsewhere). 0/10, there's no price on your safety, and seemingly the criminals there are locals that just wait for guests

Yelp
Traveling isn't something I have to do a lot, but this trip was a last minute, and it was the weekend...prices jumped from fifty dollars to $450. At this stage the trip was a "must" and sat there feeling disbelief and shock. When I saw the price of a room at Hostel Cat, I found myself breathing long, slow and deep....with Gratitude. I so enjoyed my stay! Now, Marc, who Universe sent to greet me at the Hostel Cat's deck, asked if I have ever booked for a "Hostel." I let him know that it was my first time, and then Mark to time to explain, and provided me with a suggestion that he knew would work better for me. Mark, thank you for taking the stress off my head. All the staff were pleasant. The entire place is nicely kept and a Blessing to whomever finds the Hostel Cat!!!

Alisa P.

Yelp
Omg!!! I'm 59 years young, and never thought I'd be staying at a hostel again at my age (lol and since Eli Roth scared the crap outta me with those movies , but I digress lol. Omg!!!! This place is awesome. While the surrounding neighborhood is a bit sketchy, the hostel itself is very safe. Coded to gain entry to get into the areas. The common area has utensils, pots and pans etc, and you're responsible for cleaning up after yourself. There are refrigerators to store anything you buy, and they provide masking tape and sharpie to write name and checkout date. They had drinks and snacks set up. Gated area into and a beautifully lit courtyard with corn hole games and grills set up. The courtyard has nice shade trees with seating areas, and tables to sit and eat. The 6 room female dorm had a large private bath that was extremely well lit and clean (I do suggest for shower shoes. Also get a pad lock at dollar tree, for the locker they provide. Despite my initial nervousness at A. Sleeping in a hostel at my age, and B. WTF am I doing sleeping in a hostel at my age , but I slept like a baby my first night. The entire staff from the young man at the front desk, to the young ladies working in the common area, were just stellar!!!!! This is a stop on my journey to eventually move to Spain , so I'm documenting this amazing place to put in my video travel journey. Oh the people checked in here!!!!! Omg!!!! Such a diverse group of people of all ages, from all parts of the world . It has such as cool laid back mellow vibe, that makes this a definite go to places whenever I come back to Vegas.

Yelp
This place is surprisingly nice. Once they open the gate to the rooms it's has a middle ground with couches chairs and grass. Pool tables and games. Very nice barbecue station with top of the line grills. They clean the rooms daily and they are nice. Chaka helped me and showed me around. For the price it's a bargain. I stayed three weeks and loved it. Great atmosphere. This is a real review !!!!!!

T V.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE- TOXIC MOLD, STEWL YOUR MONEY. I tried to stay here 3 nights but as soon as I walked into the dorm room (after a late flight too) I literally couldn't breathe due to mold. I told the front desk attendant who assured me that I would be given a full refund of my $200. A week later and they are now refusing to give me any of my money back. I am contacting the EPA and Better Business Bureau to assure no one else with health issues similar to mine has to go through their bullshit. Unsafe and unprofessional. STAY AWAY

Dupree C.

Yelp
Great place for the price. Clean. Respectable. Affordable. Friendly staff. A bit away from the strip but everything is walking distance in Las Vegas.

Yelp
So first of all, i made a reservation online no problem. Three days later my wallet gets stolen. Call and explain this because i was supposed to check in two days after that but now only have cash (from my work tips) so they said that was fine. I drive down from Mammoth Lakes (5 hours) and they tell me they don't accept cash. The lady was wonderful and sweet about it, but once they switched shifts and Marc took over... it was an awful. He cut me off mis sentence and wouldn't even really let me speak. This dude was rude on all levels... and he totally ruined that place for me. i was super excited to stay here but wont be coming back now. I usually stay at MANY hostels and they are always laid back and chill. Bummer.

Yelp
I would give this place 0 stars. Beware of this place they are thieves do not book through any travel company such as booking, hotwire etc. They say they cannot give you the room they make u pay after it is already paid for. They give u your slip with your information on it and want you to scotch tape it to your bunk so everyone can see your personal information. The workers are rude and spend the nights at the hostel drinking and getting high with each other and other people during their stay. They made me wait 2 hours to check me in when they checked in workers to stay for the week. I am handicapped and they did give me a bottom bunk but even that was a hassle. The person above me spilled a beer all over my book bag containing my belongings which I would have complained about but when I checked out at 8am to catch an early flight as stated hours are 8am-1am the doors were locked. As a handicapped male they also allowed a gentleman in the same room keep his electric scooter and skateboard in the room which made it almost impossible to move around since I am handicapped they didn't even wanna give me a bottom bunk as requested. You make your own bed too and get a sheet and blanket. It's actually worse than being in prison. BEWARE. I would never suggest this dump to anyone. Only plus was there was a strip club next door but ever that was shady and gross. Homeless people hang around outside this establishment, and I use the term loosely. The name has changed it's now known as the bungalows formally hostel cat probably because of the bad reputation it received but it's still garbage.

Yelp
This place is really cheap ($30/night as of 5/23/2021), the place was recently renovated, the rooms have new linoleum floors, bunk beds and thick comfortable as heck memory foam mattresses. The bathroom was also remodeled with a cool cabinet and top surface sink. Even though there was crazy loud thumping night club music, I couldn't hear a thing once I got into the room which was on the side of the strip. Bring your own lock for the lockers or you'll have to pay $6 for these cheezy little one they sell you. Or stop by Walmart and buy 2 for $5 and you can lock your stuff up in 2 lockers. The room I stayed in had 3 bunk beds and 10 lockers. Ask the front desk ahead of time to measure the dimensions of the lockers because they're just like the ones you had in high school, (will only fit a back pack, my small luggage I had to leave out and just empty the contents into the locker and leave my suitcase under my bed) I would estimate the dimensions to be about 36" x 12" x 12". It was enough to fit 3 days worth of clothes, my laptop miscellaneous items. If you drive to Vegas, you can park your car on the premises for free. The Deuce bus stop was about a 5 minute walk and came every 15 mins. Get the bus app and you can buy a 7-day unlimited ride pass for $20. Beats paying for parking and fighting the ridiculous traffic on the strip. The cool thing about the app is that it tells you in real time when the bus is coming up to the minute and it was really accurate. It even tells you what time to leave your room and how long it takes you to get there so you don't miss it. AND...it's FREE! Now here's the caveat. Are you sitting down? No one under 18 is permitted on the premises and they are super strict about it. AND, it's in a pretty sketchy part of the strip (the north side). There are shady strip clubs, not a ton of homeless, but the clientele that frequent the area are not exactly the kind of people your mother would want you to bring home for dinner. No offense to these people, but you just got to be wise when coming back late. The streets are not as lit up and bright as the south part of the strip, so caveat emptor. I say it's not for the faint of heart. I'll probably never come back to Hostel Cat again because I have nothing that interest me in Vegas. I was only here to take care of my 14 y/o daughter who was playing in a volleyball tournament. The whole team stayed together at the Luxor so she was safe and sound. :) In conclusion, if you're trying to stay on the cheap, this is the place. 4 days/3 nights it cost me $126 for room, bus pass and lock. The Luxor would have cost me $150/night + $35 hotel fee

Yelp
I've never stayed at a Hostel, but came to Vegas on a whim for the weekend without any lodging arrangements. As all hotel/motel options were out of budget I came across the Hostel option. I'm a very particular person and was concerned with quality of cleanliness and not bottom of the barrel conditions. Nonetheless my only option to lay my head. I called and arrange to stay for 2nights. Your able to come without arrangements up till 1p as long as bed available which they have plenty. Marty the young brother who works the front desk was extremely welcoming and engaged in interesting conversation. I walk in to get settled and heat up some leftovers. The community in the common areas extended an invitation to come vibe with them. Great company to be in Loving and thought provoking conversations. Dope music and privacy for when your ready to rest. Room was clean no smells. You got fresh sheet cover, pillow cover and towel handed to you. You get private key to room and whoever bunks in your room are the only others with key. Yelp
I live in Vegas and needed a place to sleep. Stayed here for two night. I was super surprised to actually like it here. When I stayed here it wasn't to loud so that was perfect. I give it a B+ on the cleaning. I had no troubles. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Don't go to Hostel Cat! It became a HOMELESS SHELTER, not a hostel! Read till the end, unbelievable story! This was the most horrible hostel experience I had in my life and I've been to all kinds of hostels all around the world! Not sure how they got some good reviews, but they're probably from before the pandemic when a lot of European backpackers were coming to Las Vegas! Now Hostel cat is more of a HOMELESS SHELTER than a hostel, with many old locals and homeless people! The location is horrible, far away from everything and very dangerous to walk around by night, I've been stopped by many locals telling me don't walk here, you'll be robbed! And since it's a dangerous area, it's impossible to find taxis, you have to call an Uber that will cost you a Lot! So if you're choosing this hostel to save money you'll be losing much more on Ubers ... and if you do it to meet people, you definitely won't meet any! But I was tired after a night of partying and didn't want to get up and look for somewhere else, so when the reception guy came to ask me to check out, I told him that I'm extending for 1 more night! Slept for an hour more and got up to take a shower ... You'll never believe what happened next, 2 guys from reception came at 1:00 pm and started putting all my stuff in a big trash bag and taking them out! Forcing me to walk out naked and wear my clothes in the kitchen area in front of the other guests! Thankfully I don't get humiliated easily, but for a lot of people that would have been a traumatizing experience! I was in disbelief at what was happening and just laughing it out ... but the manager had to tell me for no reason, you either go out peacefully or I'm calling the police! Like what? Whaaaat? I understand that most of their guests now are homeless people and that they had to hire some prison or shelter staff to enforce check-out time with them! But they knew I was a tourist that just came to the US a few days ago and I told them I was extending and not checking out ... why would you do such a thing while I am at the bathroom without even talking to me? Unbelievable! You might be looking out for logic and thinking something happened before to cause such a hostile attitude from them, NOT AT ALL, the only reason they did all of that is because I took my time to wake up, before going to the reception and pay the additional night ... it was so unreal that I was considering calling the touristic police on them if this exists in the US! After traveling for years all around the world, that's probably the only bad review I ever gave a hostel, but I had to make sure to warn you about this one, because it was truly horrible! I forgot to say that this happened on a Tuesday with probably 80% or more of the hostel empty and only 1 other bed occupied in my room! I can't imagine what they would do to you if you overslept an hour on a weekend or a busy time!

Yelp
It is the worst place I have been in my whole life, to begin with it is not a Hotel or Hostel or Motel, it is a Shelter for the Homeless and drug addicts, for not informing me, I paid 7 days only for the price, I left half an hour from Having reserved, and did not receive any refund, The rooms are shared with strangers, and less in times of pandemic, I do not know how they allow this in the heart of Las Vegas. A single star, because it is required, I would not give it any.

Yelp
Become deeply entrenched in the Las Vegas atmosphere. Located snuggly between the strip and Fremont street, the hostel cat's location is great. Clean common areas and helpful staff make the stay very comfortable.

Yelp
Chose to stay at the hostel cat. Very delightful experience. The staff is very kind. The people that choose to stay here are very kind. This place has a sense of community. The receptionist are excellent. This is a sense of old Vegas at its finest. The ambiance of the property exceeds the what I had initially expected. This place gets 5 stars in my book. It reminds me of Cheers. I will always come back. Big thanks to Gonza, Jacob, Jordan Ebekaneezer, And The MGR Keyana. These people go above and beyond to make your experience like old Vegas. Cheers
