Love this place!!!! Stayed the last 3 years, twice for a month or longer. Great location! Right on Madera beach, just up the ramp. Right by the access to the Fisherman’s Walk/Malacon into the quaint part of town for shopping and nighttime activities. Easy walking to the veggie fruit market street. Has a smaller size infinity pool, with deck, and two covered areas to stay out of sun, with chairs and tables, have stayed in 3 different room, all good. A lot of guests are repeat and some stay a long time, like 3-6 months, so they have a bit of a “community” going on. You can still fit in okay. Recommend!

Comfortable rooms, a great terrace (Room #2) with a city view. Affordable and well located. Mind steps and uphill street

This is our home away from home! We love Bungalows. We have been coming here for over 10 years. The staff is so helpful as well as the owner. All the comforts of home! Clean rooms, great outdoor kitchen. See you next year!

Loved this place. Staff was amazing and views to die for. Loved having a kitchen to cook and also the area was perfect for walking everywhere. This felt more like a family home environment than a hotel. Pool was great and on site massage was available. I could have lived here for months.

We got to the hotel very early in the morning, but the staff had no problem with storing our things until we got back later in the afternoon. The city center, various restaurants, and La Madera Beach are all within walking distance. The only downside is that the hotel is on a hill, so the walk is steep. The hotel does have breathtaking views though. We were in the hot tub suite and it was well worth it. The room had everything you can need, if you were staying there for a long time (a/c, full kitchen, utensils, and dining table). There is also an infinity pool on the property overlooking the bay. The staff was also wonderful. If you are choosing a hotel in Zihuatenejo this hotel is the best choice.

We've stayed here twice, and would definitely come back again. One of the biggest advantages is the location -- you can walk or take a cab (only about $2-3US) to La Ropa, and it's a very quick and easy walk to Playa Pricipal and El Centro. It's even walking distance (although slightly longer walk) from the bus station and Mega grocery store. This time we booked at the last minute and ended up with a city view room, which was all they had left, which was surprisingly nice -- we loved the outdoor kitchen and the views over the hillsides in all directions (there is even an ocean view if you sit at the "bar" area of the patio and peek around the side). I have to be honest, though -- there was some city noise at night. But it was the week of New Year's, so maybe it wouldn't be so loud at less busy times of year. Friendly staff, very nice pool area, and nice rooms (basic, not luxurious, but clean and have everything you need).

We got to choose among 2 rooms, fully equipped, both with lovely views. The hotel is only a 10 min walk to the center and has its own stairway to a little (public) beach. Mayra is a wonderful young manager who will do everything in her power to solve anything and she really makes a difference!!! Adrian & Eduardo are also fast and efficient working young men, always ready to help guests. Loved our stay at Bungalows La Madera! A little dog in a house above the hotel sometimes barks in the evenings, but its bark is its size (light!) and earplugs were of good help. Cesar is an immature manager at night who doesn't really know how to deal with customers (and we saw him only once). Would stay here again, for the beach, for the views, and because the place is in the hands of someone who cares - Mayra!

We stayed in one of the hill top rooms. Great views of the city...beautiful at night with the lights. Clean and well stocked apartments. Great staff. Good location with a lot of good restaurants one street below. Also quick access to downtown Zihuatanejo and all it has to offer. Nice path leading to the beach below and beach clubs for food and drinks. Enjoyed the pool area with pretty views of the beach and bay. Only downside was unsupervised children playing in the pool area. Even though there were signs posted around the pool about this it was not being enforced.
