This is a little slice of heaven on earth. It’s removed from the town so it’s very peaceful. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette and has a view of an outdoor space. Aside from the room and the small pool, and the views, there are no amenities. Come prepared or be ready to make trips into town for coffee and food. This place is family run and they live on site therefore it’s not suitable for everyone. In this part of Mexico, cash is king, be prepared to pay with cash at most places, even hotels and lodging prefer it. This is not an American, five star hotel. It’s a set of bungalows on a cliff side where everything is cared for and loved by a family and their employees. There is no room service or turndown service or concierge. If that’s your vibe- check out the st. Regis in punta mita, a few towns over! For peace and tranquility, Lydia’s is the most special place. I know I will be back for years to come.

We enjoyed 11 days in San Pancho, but finished up with 3 days at B Lydia. What we love is the peace and beauty of the setting. We like San Pancho a lot, but the town can be noisy, and smokey from people grilling outdoors and burning. In contrast, B. Lydia is a full -on nature experience: clean air, quiet, beautiful trees and shrubs, in a gorgeous garden, magnificent quiet beaches. If you don’t have a car, you will need to be organized around self-catering and arrive with all your groceries, or pay 150-200 pesos for a taxi ride to town. Our room was not properly cleaned when we arrived, but Lydia quickly remedied that when I told her. The owners clearly love this family treasure so it’s a very personal and special place. There were minor maintenance issues but we enjoyed our second visit very much.

The staff was aloof. Didn’t give us any info (wifi etc) upon check in. They asked our friends travelling with us to pay 1/2 the stay in cash which meant many bank fees pulling $ out in town. After being left with no choice when we went to pay the 1/2 on credit card their machine magically stopped working and they demanded we pay entirely in cash. We gave them 1/2 in cash then their machine miraculously started working again. Terrible communication or any sense of welcome. It’s just a nice overpriced property outside of town. In 6 days our sheets were changed 0 times

Bungalows Lydia is all about an AMAZING location with spectacular views and authentic Mexican architecture. We had a 180 degree plus view of the ocean and magnificent coastline from the panoramic room. We watched the whales spouting and breaching every morning over coffee, watched the waves crashing onto the rocks like fireworks, watched gorgeous sunsets, lines of pelicans skimming the water, and almost always had the two private beaches to ourselves. It was very hard to leave and we can't wait to return. It is a two mile drive on a windy cobblestone road through the jungle to San Pancho, which (for now) is a low key little town full of hippies, skate boarders, dogs, restaurants, shops and a lovely beach. $5 mexican meals at Maria's (not to be confused with Maria Bonita). Ammenities at Lydia's are minimal, so if these things are important to you, bring them: shampoo, coffee, hair dryer, cork screw, wine glasses, cooking oil, salt/pepper, dish soap. There are two hot tubs and an infinity pool with gorgeous views, but they are not heated. Probably very refreshing on a hot, humid day, but just pretty to look at on cooler winter days. Also, no air conditioning, although the ocean breezes are lovely. There are lots of lounges, a few hammocks, and cast iron garden furniture to go hang out, read, or have romantic sunset dinners (many people have meals delivered from town. ) Lydia and her sister, Mayte, are very helpful with suggestions and/or finding what you need for the room. Overall, it was a LOVELY experience!

Incredible spot. We stayed in the Sunset suite which was so beautiful and the bed was a lot comfier than we were expecting. The resort overall didn’t have much in terms of amenities so definitely come with food/drinks or be prepared to drive into town (also fun). The connected beaches were beautiful and 99% empty. Be warned of the loud waves at night - sounds like a war. May need earplugs!

I stumbled on Bungalows Lydia online and we weren't sure exactly what it as going to be like. We were so pleasantly surprised. The views are incredible. Perched on a cliff, our room was like a wall of windows so you could see the incredible views from anywhere in the room. We had a private sandy patio and spent the whole first day there, not wanting to leave. We watched the sunset and saw whales in the distance. Access to the private beaches are very accessible, and you feel like you have the place to yourself. The pool is amazing, perched over the views. Our room had a kitchen and it was all in great shape. We had one problem with our bathroom and they fixed it right away. We found the owners Mayte and Lydia to be a joy to talk to, and Mayte pointed out places we could eat downtown. Highly recommend this hidden gem. We will definitely be going back.

My wife and I spent 12 days at Bungalow Lydia this past March (2022) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I am compelled to clarify some of the recent Trip Advisor reviews and observations about staying there.||The property is perched above rocks and crashing waves. The sound of the surf is part of the magic. The location provides access to one completely private beach and another which is the "hidden secret" beach used by many in San Pancho when they want to escape the village beach. You normally share this beach with maybe 5 people. You are on the Pacific Ocean, so, swimming requires experience with the ocean and dealing with waves. That is a plus for me.||The location is about a mile north of San Pancho on a gravel road along the coast. It is too far to walk, so, you need a car. The location gives you immediate access to miles of jungle hikes. Start with the Budda hike.||There is a rudimentary kitchen in each suite. We prepared breakfast and lunch daily (lunch was often left-overs from our evening meal in San Pancho). Since you need a car anyway I suggest you drive in to San Pancho for dinner. There are many excellent options in town. There is no restaurant at Lydia's.||Beds were comfortable. There is daily cleaning service and the facilities are squeaky clean. It reminded me of some Italian family owned BnB's in London.||The infinity pool was nice and the hot tub provides an expansive view. We saw whales (although March is getting late for them), dolphins and birds diving for fish all day.||The Bungalows have been in this location for decades. The facilities are not new, however, they are routinely updated. There are many resorts in Puerto Vallarta that offer brand new condos and rooms if that is important to you.||This is a great place to relax. We were there for our 40th anniversary. The staff is not English speaking but some Spanish use on our part along with a translation app worked fine. We felt cared for while we were there. It was clear Lydia wants her guests to be comfortable. The internet works. If high speed internet offering the ability to work remotely and video conferencing is your need, you may find the internet inadequate. ||We are already looking forward to our visit next Winter.

Lydia’s space is special. The beaches are sublime and private. The ocean sounds become a relaxing backdrop over time. The location and connection to the ocean is the experience. The owners take care of you here, not employees. They care. My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary here. It was wonderful. Frankly the complaints registered by some of the reviews are juvenile..... Enjoy the space and experience.
