Nice location, friendly and right next door you have the opportunity to eat delicious saffron pancakes. 🙂

This place is much bigger than one could imagine from the outside.
It's actually quite huge.
There is a creative playground and play house for the younger ones.
We brought a 3 year old though and he loved going through all the old houses.
You can go inside and up in a windmill which is an interesting experience.
A lot of history here.

Looks very nice :) An interestingly presented story of people who had to live in this harsh climate, especially in winter, must have been hard :/ But people have managed to survive.

Nice outdoor museum, good place to see different houses from different era. And the children got to play indoor and outdoor.

Enjoyed the museum, especially the schoolhouse. Definitely check out the amazing restaurant across the street. Saffronspankaka with jam and cream... a Gotland specialty.

We have seen a lot of open air museums in sweden. Free ones paid ones, but the Bungemuseum is one of the best. The houses are well arranged and kept nice and tidy. Visitor reception is excellent, friendly, easy and in different languages. The picture stones (replicas) are breathtaking, you can sit in front and view every detail. There is an activity area with old games which is very funny. This makes a visit somehow unforgetable. Well worth a visit.
