Bunja Thai Restaurant

Had a dinner with family. Drinks menu was nice with variety of selection. Nice ambience, nice and friendly staff, food menu is nice, need a bit of help from Thai food veterans or the staff. They were helpful in choosing the dishes. Nice food could not enjoy all the way as I am not a Thai food expert but lived it. We ordered a family deal which came with variety of starters, stir fry beef, noodles, white rice, chicken curry in coconut and so many. The washrooms are located upstairs so not really friendly for physical challenges. Clean wash rooms. Loved the heritage building and the Thai way of decorating it. Overall a great experience.

It was Tuesday when a group of us went to Bunja Thai Restaurant for lunch. A couple of us had the special for the day which was Bunja's style fried rice with chicken and vegetables. The meal was flavourful and really hit the spot. It is also worth mentioning the lovely heritage building which added to the atmosphere and to our experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. Well done to the team!

A beautiful old building. Tastefully reused in its current Thai restaurant setting. Fantastic flavoursome menu , Attentive knowledge staff with a smile and gentle nature . Do yourself a favour , You won't be disappointed ✨️

A restaurant in great, heritage building. Nice atmosphere. Service was on point. Calamari was excellent, soft and crispy and well-seasoned. So does the beef stir-fry, came out hot and very flavourful, lots of veggies and not shy on black pepper. But the green curry was such a let down. Very watery and very sweet. Not enough spices & quite bland.

Visiting from Melbourne for the first time. Really tired and hungry. Had an amazing lunch today at this place. Staff is amazing and food is worth the money Kudos to Sprite(our server) and Chrystal(sorry if I wrote your name wrong but the person at register and bartender) Amazing food, beautiful service. You guys are the best 10/10 recommend it to anyone who is going here.

Stunning interior, high ceilings very Victorian. Greeted straight away. I ordered the Pud See Eew with slow cooked beef and had it very hot. It was nice to be served with chopsticks along with a spoon and fork. The beef was very lean and tender and the vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked. This is my new favourite Thai restaurant in Bendigo and I’ll certainly be back.

We had a lovely meal with our adult children - starting with Thai Beer and Mocktails - followed by a great share entree, beef randang, red curry chicken, banana leaf barramundi and Thai noodles. It was all delicious, the service was lovely and the old bank building is magnificent . Next time we are in Bendigo we will be back.

Lunch special! The building alone is worth a visit to this restaurant housed in a beautiful gold rush era bank building with ornate ceilings. We ordered the Khao Soi Chicken Noodles and the Thai Style Beef Pho and they were delicious. The staff were friendly and the prices very reasonable. This is a great option for lunch in central Bendigo!

Great selection of Thai food, including vegetarian options. The staff are friendly and efficient. Laksa soups and the stir fry dishes are particularly pleasing.

When I first walked into Bunja Thai, the amazing atmosphere of this restaurant blew me away. A very friendly and happy waiter placed me at a nice clean table and delivered the menus to me straight away. Still amazed by this lovely antique restaurant and friendly customer service, I decided to order a very cheap, $12 lunch special. My meal came within 15 minutes or ordering! The plate was filled to the edges with delicious looking and smelling Thai food. My mouth had already exploded after just one bite. There was the perfect amount of spice in the curry and the flavours worked together well. Not just the taste of my meal but also the presentation of my meal was an absolute work of art. With a full, impressed and delighted stomach, I left Bunja Thai knowing the true taste of Thai food. The food looked so impressive that it even made it to my Instgram and Tumblr! Overall, I really recommend this restaurant to anyone as I guarantee you aren't going to get an experience of traditional Thai like this anywhere else. I am astonished of just how delicious Thai food can actually get! :)) DON'T MISS OUT!!
