This is my fourth hostel stay, and I'm in love.
I can see why this place is special to those who are here, and out of the other hostels I stayed at, this one functions more as a community, and is more house centered.
Its a relaxed atmosphere with a chill vibe. And definitely has an eclectic collection of amazing human beings.
I'm 42 yrs old. My kids are grown, graduated and out of the house, and I've been an empty nester since 37.
I quit my jobs back in July of this year and hit the road. I bikepacked around the northern portion of Michigan (my home state) and went west because I've never been.
I stopped to see a friend in Denver for a week before heading out to California.
I stayed in Santa Barbara and San Fransico before coming up here, and when I stepped off of the bus it sort of felt like home. Mostly because of the weather, and the late fall colors.
I can see the appeal, and I can see why people choose to stay here. Not just at this hostel, but choose to stay in Bend, also.
But I can see why people stay at this hostel.
And from the perspective of the casual observer, I can see why it functions so well, and why this place is so successful.
But anyway im going to keep rambling.
I just wanted to share some of my experience.
