Bunker Vietnamese at Dekalb Market Hall

Please do not waste your time or money here. Sadly, this was one of the most tasteless pho noodle soups I've ever had. 18 dollars for a tiny bowl of bland soup. Awful. Just plain awful.

Had this for lunch 2 weeks ago. Sandwich is called Saigon and it had 3 different meats with house made sauce and veggies. Bread was crispy and fresh. The other item was a summer roll with peanut sauce. Both had some heat to them and great flavor. I paid close to $20 for both which is on a pricy side but for lunch the sandwich alone can be satisfying at $13.

Yeah, I didn’t get around to reading he previous review until I’d already ordered my pho. Relatively tiny, about twice as expensive as it should have been, and not terribly flavorful. No hoisin sauce, so I loaded up on sriracha and hot peppers to season it. Decent amount of white meat chicken for the size of the bowl. The menu describes a ginger ale that sounds like they’re making it fresh, as I think they do at the main restaurant, but here it’s Bruce Coast out of the fridge—luckily I saw that before I ordered it. Definitely won’t be getting the pho here again, it’s just not worth the cost for an absolutely average bowl of soup. There are so many options in the market for like 25 percent less, so I’d do something else.

Bottom 20% of the pho that I've had, but hands down best bahn mi I've ever had the pleasure of eating by a good margin. Vietnamese coffee was also good, for an A+ sandwich-coffee lunch. Just don't get the pho.

If you order the pho here you're doing it wrong, because this place makes an absolutely PERFECT banh mi sandwich. Fresh crispy bread, buttery and tender beef, perfectly pickled carrots with cheese and cilantro. Seriously, the banh mi here is one of the most delicious sandwiches I've had anywhere. I make trips to Brooklyn just for this sandwich.

Tried this place once recently and was disappointed. The pho noodles were over cooked and the vendor does not have veggie pho. You will pay a full meat price although you are not getting any meat. Try another pho place.

I had Pho soup all over NYC.. this is easily the worst pho soup I ever had. The chicken is bland, the entire soup was terrible. All of this for 16+ dollars, expensive and bad. I regret spending my money at this place.

I'm from southern China, a region where people share a lot similar food culture with southern Asian countries, I don't usually got excited, or am impressed by Vietnamese cuisine. But Bunker certainly has the best, BEST summer rolls.

Visited the Dekalb Market Hall for the first time and my friends/family know how much I love market halls! We were there specifically for Soft Swerve. I ordered the strawberry short cake on a cone and it was MASSIVE. Enough for 2 people to share for sure and it was delicious! In addition to Soft Swerve, there was a variety of food and desserts so you'll definitely leave full. My friends and I visited on a Saturday where they had live music which was a plus. Throughout the market hall you'll find tables and chairs; it does get a bit crowded and hot but the eats are worth it. Since we drove in, we found street parking a block away surprisingly! But if you're visiting by train, I saw a subway station nearby as well.

So, my friend and I rolled into the market hall for the first time after stuffing ourselves silly at an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. We didn't even know this place existed until we stumbled upon it during our post-meal food coma walk. And wow, what a discovery! First off, this place is seriously cool. The variety of stalls and food options is impressive. It's like a street food paradise, all under one roof. And guess what? There's a Trader Joe's here too! So convenient if you need to grab something while you're wandering around, pretending you have room for more food. The whole vibe of the market hall is awesome. It's got that bustling, lively street food aesthetic that makes you feel like you're on a mini culinary adventure. I instantly fell in love with the place and can't wait to come back to try more things. We were way too full from our Korean BBQ feast to sample much, but the promise of delicious bites is calling us back. Seriously, come here with friends. It's the perfect spot for a fun outing, whether you're on a food crawl or just looking to hang out and explore.

This place has drawn me in because of its former tenant Albee Square Mall which was my local hang out in my teen years. Albee Square Mall slowly diminished and eventually vanished. That closing re-birthed into City Point which now occupies Dekalb Market Hall. All that rich history is why I understand how culture, diversity, and good food collaborates in the center of Downtown Brooklyn to create this space. I love it. There's a vibrant crowd of patrons usually gently competing for a table for 45 minute lunch or more, a quiet space to sit and unwind. There's so many places to eat here, the classic New York City Katz's Delicatessen's from the lower east side of Manhattan serving those famed deli sandwiches, Harlem Seafood Soul bringing soul and seafood in harmony to Brooklyn, or new school (all over the news outlets) favorite Caribbean food, Fat Fowl. It doesn't stop with food. They have activities for children, Latin Thursdays, (Latin music and dance every Thursday night. All levels of dance come out to learn and move with the music), and finally Friday DJ giving great music and so much more. It's friendly. It's safe. Come see it for yourself. All major transportation stops here (it's Downtown BK ALL transportation flows thru here, LIRR, ferry service are within walking distance), and it's NYC so super expensive parking is everywhere, unless your feeling lucky and you want to spend your evening seeking street parking (good luck).

What a cool-a** place! What an excellent variety of places to try. I can't get over how many eateries there are, including a grocery store.

This is a nice upscale food hall located below a mall. I find it to be a bit cramped compared to some of the other fancier food halls but I would say that the general food selection here is more similar to the now closed Market Line or the excellent The Hugh in Midtown East and certainly better than the various locations of UrbanSpace. I've stopped here a handful of times usually after going to a movie upstairs. I would recommend BK Jani and much less The Showroom Bakehouse. They have among other things notably the only other location of Katz's which automatically makes this place the best Jewish deli space around (yes I put this place over Mile End, sue me.) It's nice but expect big crowds especially in the evenings of course. They have a good mix.

Good food. Dumplings were great, and steamed properly. This place also has wonderful service, the employees are very friendly and the design of the restaurant is very clean. Nice work!

I went to the first Dekalb Market Hall Night Market event and had a blast! It starts at 9pm and it's family friendly so I was able to bring my 11 year old daughter along with my parents and sister. They had a dj and most of the food vendors were open with special rates for certain food items. Everybody was giving it out positive vibes and even though drinks were being served, it was a wholesome good night. At one point, my sister, dad, and I wandered into one of the restaurants that had a whole different dance floor from the main floor and we just started dancing in a circle with random people. After that, we got thirsty and hungry so we walked around to see what our many food options were. We ended up going with bubble tea and arepas. The bubble tea came in the cutest teddy bear shaped bottle with its own winter scarf. The arepa I got was $5, which was their special rate for the night. This felt like one huge Brooklyn party where the people gathered together for a good time that lasts until midnight.

Loved my first visit to this food hall but I must say it was overwhelming! So many great food options. I did not know where to begin. Here's what we tried: -- Arepa Lady: Arepa de Queso with Chorizo - 8.5/10. It was good but I wish the chorizo was a bit spicier. Really enjoyed their green sauce. -- Baby's Buns & Buckets: Grilled Honey Pork Baby Bun - SO GOOD 10/10! Probably one of the better priced food options in the hall and it was so delicious. Amazing service. Highly recommend -- Harlem Seafood Soul: Fried Mac and cheese - 9/10 -- Tea Makers: Quick service and cute packaging. Loved the variety in their menu and their popping boba options -- The Showroom Bakehouse: loved their Nutella cronut and the cream cheese filled red velvet cookie and donut. The cronut and cookies are huge and so good! -- Brooklyn Wine Cellar: Loved the cherry frosé. It is strong though! Overall ambiance: Each location has their own vibe and music playing in the background. Loved the variety in music and decor. Plenty of seating available but there are less seats directly in front of each establishment. Downside: it does get crowded!

This place is LARGE! I almost got lost finding my way through this maze of vendors. The variation here is as extensive as that of the Urban Hawker in NYC though that food hall is more organized since it's mainly a straight line there. This spot is more of a square of sectioned different spots and if you don't have an idea of what you want here, you'll be wandering here for some time like I was. Eventually I settled on a Teriyaki spot (which will have its own review). You'll love the scent of the place as you can smell the many different aromas of certain vendors and the food that they make, it's almost overwhelming. There's something for anything you have a craving for here.

I love these market style places for when you can't decide on what to eat! It's a great way to also feature small businesses in one place. I tried some crepes that were pretty good, one thing I will mention is that although it was crowded, we were able to find a seat pretty easily! There's a Trader Joe's and it was Sunday so do what you want with that info

This is a great food mall in downtown Brooklyn. For folks out of town it's especially great because there are so many options in one place. And the options are varied and scrumptious! Way Above average. Choices include bakeries, pizza, seafood, burgers, pasta, Asian, Jamaican, etc. We ate at Fat Fowl and it was a 10. Check it out. We went on a Sunday, soon after they opened. It wasn't that crowded...yet.

The locals already know. If you're a visitor considering Dekalb, the answer is a strong yes. At the impeccable Pierogi Boys, get whatever you want as long as it's a combo. Some of the Dekalb's first wave all-stars are no longer, but notable newcomers include Dan & John's Wings. Dekalb is most welcome on a rainy day, being just steps from the train, and has been one of the better indoor venues during Covid times as you can often find tables that aren't terribly crowded. You can load up on fiery spices at Hana Noodle Station or just get ice cream at Ample Hills. Dekalb is that rare place that provides an authentic, colorful NYC experience without exclusionism or logistical hassles.

Whenever I'm downtown I visit the DeKalb Market Food Hall located in the lower level of the Citypoint complex. It has so many vendors and cuisines ranging from featuring Harlem's Soul and Seafood fusion to Dim Sum to Cuban. There's something for everyone. I visited Baby's Buns and Buckets. They feature Thai sliders and fish and chips. The FC slider features pickled onions and papaya carrot slaw. It was delicious. Check it out!

DeKalb Pizzeria is the blue Dekalb Market Hall stall across from 100% Mr Lin's, next to Trader Joe's. They took over Forcella's spot. DeKalb Pizzeria slices are NYC standard, not too thin, good for folding, with fresh cheese, a chewy-crisp crust, and solid tomato sauce. At about $4 a slice, it is also one of the few cheap eats in the Hall, and elevates a standard slice to a winner. (Other cheap yet filling eats in the hall would include the beef patty at Likkle Jerk, anything at Mr Lin's, a pita sandwich at Hummus Inc, and the slider kebab at Kotti). Staff are friendly, work hard, and pizzas are warm and toasty. Prices are excellent.

The entire market hall is a nice one to go when you're in Brooklyn because there are a variety of food stalls and plenty of seats. The food hall has a variety of cultures and different cuisines so there's something for everyone. It's also located downstairs like a basement style so it's cooling to sit during the summer heat. There's also a Trader Joe's so you can do grocery shopping as well. It can get busy but I've always found seating. However if you want to study, it can get quite noisy depending on the time of day so if you want cafe sounds but you need to focus, maybe you want to avoid here.

Removing 3 stars because of the ambiance. Music BLASTING with no relief anywhere. Its not supposed to be a club . I feel like the music is more for the propeiters because theyre the only ones enjoying it. Everyone is trying to eat and talk over MJ singing PYT Its obnoxious at 80 decibels.

Who can say anything bad about Dekalb Market Hall. The only thing that can rival this eclectic space is Chelsea Market. Very similar to Chelsea Market, you will find plenty of places for different fares. It includes Katz Delicatessen as well as a new brewery opening called "Six Point Brewery." What better way to pick up food on the way home from going to Trader Joe's for a quick grocery run. It's a very unique space and serves as a core to the Downtown Brooklyn community. I love Dekalb Market Hall.

I went there a couple of days ago and noticed that they have started using a very strong air freshener. It is so bad/strong that you Can hardly taste or smell the food. also knowing how bad Air fresheners are for the lungs due to the VOCs they contain I was worried that my son would get an astma attack or allergic reaction. There is a reason why air fresheners are not being used in NYC schools. Overall I would suggest using one of the other market halls in the area.

This is in the basement before trader Joe's. I think there's so many options and it's so much fun. It's perfect for groups. There's so many options and variety. There's desserts, snacks, burgers, and so on. It's good for groups but also for a solo trip.

Had no expectations after reading a few reviews about how dead the market is post-Covid. Went on a weekday, and it was buzzing! All the food stalls were open, some more popular than others of course. It's nice to see people mingling at lunch hour again. Trader Joe's is on the same level, and Target is on 2/F.

The food hall itself is definitely a 5 stars. Very cool with many options and lots of seating. Will definitely come back. The crepe I got was ok. Didn't blow my mind but good

Our hotel was across the street from the this place. We were thrilled upon hearing about it from our in-laws and were excited to go. They had hyped the place up so much. However.... it wasn't what we were expecting. A few of the places we were excited to visit had closed down (looking at you, donut place), other places were in transition to opening in the future. I think it'd be helpful to have a map or layout of the place easily accessible either upon getting down there, or even a QR code to get a virtual layout. Some of the places were really really pricey, others were decent. Go here to check it out, find some food if need be, but I guarantee that you can probably find better food for cheaper elsewhere.

I mean... it has all the things you could want. I had dumplings, my friends had pizza. We all had beer. The music was loud, so if that bothers you then you may just want to take something to go.

Dekalb is upscale and hipster at the same time. They have made an effort to cover a wide range of cuisines and have succeeded. There are so many options and i reckon all of them taste great. There is Katz with no line! Food is definitely pricey but well worth the exploration. The hall is nice and the temperature inside was just right for me. This is a must visit for anyone who is in the area looking for some good food.

This food court is a mess. The stalls were situated like a maze and the seating arrangement is confusing. The food was also not impressive

We were staying nearby DeKalb Market Hall during our extended weekend in NYC, so we visited twice. It's Brooklyn's largest food hall with more than 40 food vendors, including some big names like Katz's (yes, that Katz's). They have pretty much every kind of food option in the food hall: pizza, hummus, noodles, crepes, BBQ, and more... On our visits, we had hand rolls (Daigo Handroll), pierogi (Pierogi Boys), sweets/pies (Oggies), and beer (Craft + Carry). It has a lot of great options and lots of seating. FYI: it's in the basement of City Point, so go in City Point and then find an escalator down. Definitely a fun place to check out if you haven't been before!

This place has a little bit of everything!..Jamaican food,soul food,Chinese,Katz just to name a few..they also have bars,and a nice lounge,trader Joes & target..the people are very nice,professional & courteous i shall return

I love a good market! I've never been to this one but liked the variety of food and desserts it had. I like the tables throughout the hall that you can sit at too. I had arepa lady, pierogi boys, moritz, cuzins duzin and the showroom bakehouse. Loved that I was able to try a bit of everything! Everything was delicious! At Moritz we got the truffle fries but the truffle is a powder rather than actually using truffle oil. My absolute favorites were arepa lady and the showroom bakehouse! I will definitely be returning to those 2!

Great variety of food options here and in my experience the vendors are friendly and generous with portions and sometimes have samples! Music was a bit loud in some areas but there is plenty of seating for a group. Definitely recommended for those with different tastes or that want to try a few cuisines at once!

Super cute indoor food court with tons of options to satisfy just about any craving and individual preferences. There is something for everyone! Nice layout, plenty of signage for easy navigation and tidy. This spot is worth the trip if you're new in town or just visiting.

This market hall has beautiful artwork on the walls. There is also a variety of food options to choose from. I got a savory crepe from the crepe shop. It came quite large and seemed reasonable with the price (~$12). The crepe itself tasted okay. It could use some more flavor and be held together better. My friends tried food from other places, and the food does seem overpriced for the small portion received, so be prepared! There is a lot of seating available, which is great! Overall, great place to socialize with friends, but definitely be prepared to spend some money on it.

Wow! I heard of this place but couldn't quite put my finger on where it was until recently. I'm glad I hit it up. The variety of stores here is great - something for everyone. Wings, Asian, vegan, whatever. Go for it. Whatever you are craving it's here.

Excellent food court! Plenty of seating, good layout, and lots of options (sweet, savory, drinks). I like that there are actually some different options unlike some of the places in the city where it's just endless varieties of salad and wrap places (i'm looking at you Oculus). We came at 1.30pm on a Sunday and there was tonnes of seating. We had dumplings from Hans (amazing chili oil), chicken curry noodle and bubble tea from the noodle house (handpulled, very falvourful and tender), doner kebab (huge and great bread), pan-baked cookies (good texture, not too sweet). Will definitely be back! Bonus points for being in the same spot at Trader Joes and Target.

Stopped here a few times while visiting - a convenient place to grab some groceries from Trader Joe's and also a bite to eat! Cafe D'Avignon was my fave place in the area to grab a latte and breakfast. There are several different food vendors and a restaurant with indoor seating as well. There were also many shared tables where you can grab food from any vendor and sit and eat.

Favorite food hall. They have everything here from Japanese to arepas to beef patties and even Katz sandwiches. This food hall also has fried pizza and different varieties of Asian food. They have Thai food and borscht soup too. Prices are reasonable and there are seats. They also have Trader Joe's at the same level and target above. Wonderful place to hang out and eat.

Wonderful array and variety of food vendors. Ended up getting both Caribbean food and a Philly cheese steak with my friend. Cool vibe. Great spot to grab a bite w friends or for a daytime date.

Was really disappointed to see the lack of variety at this food hall. There was only a few different cuisines represented with Inctedibly limited menus. I'm all for supporting local business but there was zero brand recognition for any of the restaurants, Incredibly hard to find menus and just overall lacked that wow factor. Ended up ordering a pita sandwich from one of the places and for $15 a piece it was really nothing special. The restaurants need better marketing and the space needs to be more welcoming.

Soooo where exactly is this place?? Nobody seems to know! I really wanted to check out a variety of food places and thought this would be cool.

Lower level. Directly across Trader Joe's entrance. Plenty of seating and various food options from Caribbean to Mediterranean and they are all surprisingly good. What's best is all the staff we spoke with were all nice and welcoming. It's a good vibe down there.

Nice variety of eateries. Didn't think this place would make it after the pandemic with so many closures but it's back baby!

I love coming here because of all the different options. Downstairs is a lot of food options, the second floor has little stores to checkout like the bookstore and on the top is target! This area in general has a wide selection of different foods and stores to meet all your needs!

We really like this food hall, which is located across from the Sheraton Brooklyn hotel. We've been here a few times and there is literally something for everyone. Their website says that Delkab is the biggest food hall in NYC showcasing 40 vendors who reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the borough. We've tried several of the vendors, most recently, THANK YOU COME AGAIN which offers Soup Dumplings, Country Fried Noodles, Fried Rice & more. They make their dumplings right there, in their little food stand. They have a few chairs at the bar to eat there, and also offer takeout. It was busy while were there, and that should be no surprise as their dumplings are tasty! We sampled their Soup Dumplings (our favorite) and the Fried Dumplings (small and tasty) were very good. Not only do I come here whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I come out of my way to this neighborhood so I can shop here. I love it so much! It's so much fun! There are so many stores and shops, food places and a big communal dining space. I would consider this the perfect date spot because I'm married and somewhat boring but mostly practical. We see a movie, grab an early dinner, then run errands at Trader Joe's. By the way, Trader Joe's deserves its own review. It's soooo awesome to have the availability of organic foods and kids' convenience foods in this setting. Prices of the take out are high but you're paying for convenience. They have a restroom which is open to the public but I always buy at least a coffee to keep me honest.

Honestly, one of my favorite food halls in NY. I love coming here for the Hennessy glazed donuts (black owned). I'm sad that they no longer have the churro ice cream sandwiches but they make up for it in a bunch of other areas. Ample Hills Creamery has some pretty great/unique ice cream flavors as well. Tucked away in the back of the food hall they also have a bar that has a 2 for 1 happy hour! I also appreciate that the times I've been there, it has never been disgustingly crowded.

Hubby and I stopped by Dekalb Taco to get a taco each, for him, myself and my son. We were stoll pretty fill from a previous food event but didn't want to kiss an opportunity to try something from the market since this was going to be our, "Plan B", if the weather didn't hold up and since we just happened to be in the area, we felt it was meant to be. I ordered myself the crab taco. I felt like it had a not-too-pleasant fishy smell and taste, like it was canned crab which kind of turned me off but all of the accoutrements were complimentary. Hubby loved his pollo asada and my son enjoyed his pork belly. I would definitely go back and try more because I'm certain another protein would have made my day.

Not a great experience . Aggressive cafe avignon - asked me to get up and leave tables only reserved for patrons on ground flier. I was a bout to get a coffee/ empty on a Sunday morning- but sent packing before I could find my wallet. Crappy tone and crappy place.

Food was delicious. The service was great. Employees and atmosphere were so welcoming. I would come back again.

Love the variety Dekalb Market Hall has to offer. Food options from all over the world so you get to try a bit of everything. It is definitely not packed out as it used to be but I'm pleased with it due to Covid restrictions. Definitely recommend trying Katz, Ample Hills Creamery, Brooklyn Wine Cellar, Daigo Handroll, Forcella Pizza, and Pierogi Boys. Also nice to do some shopping at Trader Joe's right after to walk off being so full lol!
