What a special place! Had a night to remember here on my recent travels with my mama! We shared the Prime Rib, enjoyed amazing conversations with the other patrons, the band was great and I even got asked to dance! This place stole my heart and I cant wait to get back someday!

Google
It's a old school biker/cowboy/locals/roadhouse/honky tonk! Food was good! Had my first ever rocky mt oysters! 😳 But the service by Hannah was even better! Music almost daily. Lots of great stuff to look at hanging on the walls. Stop by! It's a fun place!

Google
Atmosphere is phenomenal, and the service is great. I came to try the Prime Rib. As a fan of Prime Rib I’d have to say this one ranked a 7/10. The herd crust was flavorful but the crust was so hard that it wasn’t edible. Salad was a no frills bag type. The potato was pretty good, albeit a bit small. It was loaded with more whipped butter than anything. All in all Id come back to try some other menu items and enjoy the service and atmosphere.

Google
Loved the atmosphere of this old western style saloon. We ate there on a Friday evening so we called to make reservations just in case it was overly busy. They asked if we wanted to sit in the main dining area where the band was playing and the band was not overly loud where we couldn't hear our table conversation so we appreciated that! Enjoyed local beers from Wyoming and delicious food. Service was very friendly and welcomed visitors!

Google
Great place near Cheyenne, Wyo. Great staff, Sonya was our bartender and was super fun! Food was awesome. I hadn't had Rocky Mountain Oysters in a very long time and they were perfect! There was even Elvis outside to get a fun photo with! Thank you!

Sarah Nichols

Google
This place is great! Service was so quick and the staff were so friendly and kind. We loved the place’s decor and we were there on Trivia Night Thursday. The Trivia questions were awesome and we loved learning old school history. Food was exceptional, the Ribeye steak was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I was so pleased with the side of salad (not just being iceberg lettuce) and the mashed sweet potato was so yummy (not too sweet). We felt at home and will definitely be coming back!

Google
I would like to give the Bunkhouse only two or three stars to keep the snooty people away, but that would be dishonest! They are definitely 5 stars in all categories!!!

Google
What a fun place. The food was excellent. I had prime rib, salad and mashed sweet potatoes. Outside is dog friendly. Inside is old school eclectic. First time I have seen a stuffed squirrel with a hat, and they have two! They had live music on a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying this place is hands down the coolest restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life. We came into town visiting a friend that was living in Cheyenne and this was a must go for us. This country would be a much better place if there were more establishments like this. We ordered Rocky Mountain Oysters which was first for me and thought they were really good. Don't knock them till you try 'em. We all ordered steaks and they were great and definitely a bang for your buck.

Jenn C.

Yelp
We were in town only for the day and stumbled upon this fun local experience. This is a very lively restaurant bar with fun country music, lots of taxidermied animals, and historical memorabilia on the walls. We came on a Friday evening and it was packed. Prices were reasonable. I don't remember the last time I got a glass of wine for this price range. Service was very friendly. We loved watching people dance and participating a little too.

Yelp
Great experience off the beaten path in Cheyenne! After about a 15 mile quick drive from Cheyenne, we arrived at the Bunkhouse! We had shopped all day, missing lunch, and were so ready to enjoy a great meal, a cocktail, and some live music and dancing.....we were not disappointed!! New owners greeted us as we entered (we made reservations because it was Friday). We had a great table by the dance floor. Not long after we had an appetizer and cocktail, the locals started streaming in: couples, families, singles and friends. They all seemed to know each other. Band members began to arrive, and came to our table and other tables to greet us. Everyone made us feel welcome (we might have been the only tourists, so we received a lot of attention and kindness). Music started at 7 pm, and played with a few very short breaks until 11. Everyone in the band took a turn as lead singer; and they were all so good. The songs were mostly classic country, but other genres like Jimmy Buffett tunes were played as well. It was a fun atmosphere. We really enjoyed our server, Dalton; and everyone else who made the night a highlight of our trip! Great menu, great drinks, and not over-priced! It's a great value, so check it out!!

Yelp
Service is always awesome! We've never had a bad meal - burgers are delicious and so is the clam chowder. And the decor - on point ! We love The Bunkhouse!

Yelp
We are vacationing from Oklahoma and staying in Loveland, Co. but we wanted to come to Cheyenne for lunch! I think this ended up being the perfect place for us. Our waitress Vici was SO nice and helpful, I really can't say enough nice things about her. We got an order of Swinging Sirloins for an appetizer. They were ok! Definitely ate them just to say we did mostly. The cocktail sauce helped and so did ranch! We got two club sandwiches and the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwhich. They serving sizes are HUGE! We should've split the club between my daughter and I. But very good! Zero complaints, great spot that I think a lot more tourists should visit! But don't go if you're disturbed by mounted taxidermy animals.

David R.

Yelp
Always a great experience. Steaks are good but tend to be undercooked so we always go with PLUA when ordering. Good value for the money. Don't miss the pledge of allegiance before the band!

Nathan S.

Yelp
On our way back home from California we took a route 210 - Happy Jack Rd from Laramie to Cheyenne. Great drive by the way. Saw the Bunkhouse, looked fun, had great reviews, and we were hungry! Stopped in and were served by an aspiring young county music artist. He was super friendly and was very attentive. Food was pretty good, but they were out of a lot of things. But no worries, what they had was good. Would have loved to come in while a band was playing. Looks like a fun place to hang out. I'll just have to come back! Regulars were friendly and the beer was cold! Enjoy!

Jake J.

Yelp
Food is good I guess but you really just come here for the ambience guarantee this place will try to be overthrown by yuppies complaining about taxidermied animals on the wall on Yelp eventually I think it's cool af

Matthew D.

Yelp
Great place to get a good solid lunch. We stopped in after hiking around in the hills for a quick lunch and I'm pretty glad we did. I got the bunker house burger and it was well worth it. The salad was fresh and I could eat more of it. The service was great and helpful. The ambiance was rustic and a bunkhouse vibe I guess? Lots of memorabilia on the walls. Definitely would come back when we are back in town.

Yelp
Another five star restaurant on my 14 day, 14 restaurant trip across country. This place pops up out of nowhere like an oasis while you're driving to Cheyenne. This may have been the most fun I've had at a restaurant so far. The owners were incredibly friendly and cool, and the local regular crowd was full of characters. Really nice set up with all sorts of memorabilia on the walls, and a real family vibe, with an awesome live music set up. I was tricked by another customer into eating rocky mountain oysters...but, as it pains me tonsay this, they weren't bad at all. Dont know what that says about me so im just gonna move on. The menu here is incredibly eclectic, from staples like chicken fried steak, to Hawaiian classics like the Loco Moco (with elk meat), and Big Island chicken, and others. I had the chicken fried steak with white gravy for the first time in my life, and it was delicious. The gravy had a really nice touch of pepper, that was a perfect balance to the flavor of the meat and batter. I also had the Big Island chicken which was awesome!! Really well cooked chicken, with natural smoke and a really nice seasoning that have the outside an awesome crisp. My surprise here, because I do not really like mashed potatoes, was how much I liked their mashed potatoes in that white gravy. Homemade MPs were really cooked perfectly and that white gravy is subtle, but adds a lot to the food. Best mashed potatoes I've ever had!! Hands down. I also had an awesome and dangerously strong drink called a "candle prad" (spelling?), crown and butterscotch...strong and smooth as h÷ll. And yes I had the bull balls, they were good and I dont wanna talk about it haha. Anyway, a great place that uses top quality meats and always switches up their menu, with great people, the #2 ranked music venue in Cheyenne, and a great atmosphere. Check it out!! And look for my adidas hat hung up on their hat wall of fame. Tomorrow I head out to salt lake city to crown burger to try the famous...crown burger. Look up its ingredients, it's gonna be intense!!

Ar K.

Yelp
Got to try this awesome, amazing gem of a bar last night and can't wait to go back! The prime rib was perfection! The sweet mashed potatoes were fantastic and the drink choices were wonderful! We had the tower for dessert which was so tasty and good! The service was absolutely top notch and the ambiance was Cheyenne at its best! Live music was playing and the band was awesome! I love the patriotism and this place is definitely worth frequenting!

Yelp
3 stars for the cool western vibe of this place. We went on a Thursday, which was trivia night so that was fun. The food, not so much. My son ordered a prime rib sandwich and the waiter accidentally put in an order for prime rib. This was fine, but the prime rib was super fatty and he could only eat about a third of it. Too much fat. My husband and I ordered fish and chips since it got good reviews. Again, disappointing. The oil used was not hot enough so the food was grease soaked, soggy, and not fully cooked. 5 stars for the soup, that was delicious. We are going to give it another try because it is a really cool atmosphere. Hopefully, better luck with the food next time.

Bri R.

Yelp
This place was recommended by our air bnb host. It is definitely off the beaten path but was well worth the drive. Food was amazing!

Michael H.

Yelp
On a positive note, the ambiance was pretty nice. Very much the quintessential bunkhouse atmosphere you'd anticipate. But, that's where it ended. We asked the server if the prime rib, boasted to be a signature item, was good. She raved of how good it was. So, we both decided to try it. Upon arrival to the table it was quickly determined they cook the prime rib roast to rare and then flat top grill it to 'the temperature ordered' which itself didn't happen. The crust of the prime taste more like summer sausage and is a bit off putting. But, the disappointment doesn't end there as the prime rib is tasteless throughout lacking in any seasoning. The menu identifies your meal comes with dinner rolls. Anticipating a home cooked roll we were disappointed to learn, they don't make dinner rolls during the week, regardless of to what the menu claims to come with the meal. The disappointment doesn't end there. We ordered sweet potatoes as the menu proclaims; however, were given a sweet potato mash, that was overpowered by a lemony citrus quality. Overall, the meal was disappointing considering it's a signature item and for the price of $35/plate. Would recommend only coming for drinks and then having dinner elsewhere.

Jodell W.

Yelp
Excellent location and adorable place. The hostess is rude, unfriendly and neurotic. she makes rocket science out of getting you seated at 4:30 for a beer and appetizer, when the place is empty. After two episodes with her, we won't be back. Her 80's neon leggings were great, tho!

Lynn C.

Yelp
The fried cod dinner was delicious with generous portions. Tip: order with mashed sweet potatoes-a tasty break from French fries. The best part was the tomato bisque soup. I wanted a giant bowl of that! Friendly server too.

Matthew G.

Yelp
We love this place. The service is always great, and it has a down home atmosphere that is very inviting. Their Friday and Saturday night concerts are fun for the whole family.

William F.

Yelp
The best that Cheyenne has to offer. Period. Great smoked prime rib, fantastic friendly service, and you would think that you've walked in to a movie set from an old west dance club (there is a fantastic house band that plays on Friday and Saturday nights, and if their music doesn't make you dance - you're hopeless)! I actually thought about k keeping all of this a secret...but that wouldn't be fair!

Blaine Q.

Yelp
Beef Wellington. This came with a soup or house salad. I had 2 dressings on the side Greek and Italian. I will say the Greek was okay. But there Italian dressing is amazing. The bloody Mary's are good as well not photoed. The beef Wellington was good I never had it before but never had it before.

Joyce H.

Yelp
Very good food and live music. very friendily place. Enjoy time. Worth the drive. Family enviroment.

R M.

Yelp
This great place has great food and it has character. Good luck finding character at Olive Garden! This the the 2nd time we've dined at the Bunkhouse. We are both over 220 pounds and the portions satisfied each time. We've had the grilled chicken salad, prime rib, and the 10oz sirloin dinner. All were cooked perfectly and seasoned deliciously. Meals arrived soon after we finished our side salads. Our server was attentive to our beverages and food preparation. Prices were not outrageous. Ample parking. Bands are available weekend evenings. We highly recommend this place when in Cheyenne.

Patti M.

Yelp
Just passing through the area and stopped in for lunch. The food and service were outstanding. We were in between lunch and dinner hours which can cause slow service at some restaurants but not here. Thanks guys for the excellent service and fresh delicious food.

Mark B.

Yelp
Food was decent. I only ordered a BLT for lunch so its hatd to mess that up. Service a bit slow due to staff conversing with everyone. Pretty cool digs. Im sure its hopping on weekends. It was OK and would eat here again.

Brad G.

Yelp
A great place in the middle of know where. Sit down relax and enjoy the western decorations. This is a casual place with large portions and good chicken fried steak.

Kanin S.

Yelp
Loved everything, waiter was the nicest person ever and knew how to have a good conversation. The food was also some of the best stuff I've ever had.

Jay B.

Yelp
Great bar and grill!! Loved it and the staff is awesome!! Had the pork chop and ribeye, it was amazing. The dessert tower should be illegal. :)

Morgan L.

Yelp
Wow this place was truly in the middle of nowhere. Be aware of that! The waitress was really nice and the decor was cool. However, I saw tons of kitchen staff without masks and the bartender had his down. I wish they wouldn't do that during a pandemic. The food was fine, but it was quite greasy. Couldn't finish my meal because of it. I did appreciate that I could do 50/50 with onion rings and french fries on the side. It's a decent place but nothing extraordinary.

Nancy P.

Yelp
What a fun environment. Love the live music and dancing. Service was delightful and fast. Server was very good at her job, since the restaurant was busy. The food was great. Had the clam chowder and a ribeye. AMAZING.. Will stop again when driving thru. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Teri O.

Yelp
What a kick! Great food, awesome music, Good drinks and fantastic staff. Real live country bar and country singing. Old to young dancing and kicking up a storm.

Annie B.

Yelp
This was such a fun place! It's a little off the beaten path, but I think that's part of the adventure. My husband and I had Rocky Mountain oysters, they were ok for what they are. I had the prime rib, it was delicious. My husband had ribeye, it was alright. The service was phenomenal, our waitress was on it! I had to wait a very brief time for a refill on my beer. Cool atmosphere, very rustic. They had live music, which my daughter loved. We had a great time. Highly recommend!

Joel B.

Yelp
When I write a review, I am honest as I can be, and do pride myself on my integrity. We arrived at the the bunk house with My mother and her friend, my partner and I had come from Utah, and my mother had told us that this was an excellent place to eat at. We ordered 2 mixed drinks, and a couple beers with in the table of 4 as well as our food. Our waitress came back and told us they couldn't make our drinks , couldn't make our salads because " we were two busy" was our waitress exact words. OH NOT TO MENTION THAT ID CHECKS WHERE NOT ASkED FOR. food came out and the burgers that where ordered looked great, I personally ordered the "prime rib sandwich that was a fatty mangled piece of meat on one piece of toast. It was not even remotely a thought of something that looked appetizing. IT GETS EVEN BETTER....my partner and I decided to go and dance on the floor as it appeared to be a diverse group, and what a better way to end a night then a dance. Well, the dance ended and one of the band members with Y-4 motioned me over and asked, "are you two dudes"? Yes, I answered, he responded, "we don't allow that shit on this dance floor and you are in Wyoming and we don't want that here" So my partner just spent 90$ on food, a beer, and an ass hole of a band/member that felt like it was nessacary to make a comment like that. Lets see Bunkhouse, you state that you pride yourself on quality and service?? No, I think that in my experience is far from any truth. Honestly and as truthfully as I could state, one, I will never return, second, I will never recommend your establishment to anyone that travels in the vicinity of your establishment and I will make sure that the multiple reviews I do leave on other sites associated with your establishment are truthful and honest as well. Thanks for miserable ending to a great day.

David M.

Yelp
Went on a late Sunday afternoon. Easy drive from the motel off I 25. There was a horse tied up at-the entrance ridden by a cowboy who lived across the road. There were pickers sitting around a table playing country songs. I had the special that night, dry rubbed ribs, smoked for hours. One of the best spare ribs I have had. The beans served with them were a mix of several bean types with bacon and a nice spicy kick. This place has great reviews in trip advisor and that's why we tried it. If you are in the area, go there.

Ang A.

Yelp
We loved this local joint. Thank you for the delicious food, amazing music and wonderful hospitality. Bonus: brownie tower for the win!!

S T.

Yelp
Delicious food -tried sampler platter. Attentive and pleasant employees. Good drinks.

Jo L.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is awesome. Had a small band playing some good old bluegrass. Food and service were great. We ate outside on the patio.

Chris M.

Yelp
Was in Cheyenne to honor the passing of my best friends father, so with heavy hearts we decided that the Bunkhouse would be our choice for a big family dinner. The Bunkhouse is exactly what you would expect one to look like, with its log cabin coziness and country motif throughout. what I did not expect was the quality of the food. I started with the clam chowder which turned out to be one of the best versions I have ever tasted. I then followed it up with the quintessential country favorite chicken fried steak, which was superb. Others in my group went with the prime rib which also was amazing. Overall the bunkhouse was the perfect place to honor a memory while listening to great live country music and eating amazing food. The prices were really good for what you got and the service was absolutely amazing. I can't wait till CFD this year so I can go back for more, Aloha

Donna D.

Yelp
What's not to love! The food is delicious the staff are alive and friendly! And the setting is s very unique and truly Cheyenne. We love the Rocky Mountain Oysters...best we've ever had! The burgers and steaks are awesome! A must visit when in Cheyenne.

Cristin O.

Yelp
A must do when in Cheyenne. Make a reservation if you want to go after 7 and enjoy the live country music. Food is good, and the drinks were strong and cheap! This is our go-to anytime we are in the area.

Brittany H.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants when we were stationed at FE Warren! Take my advice and try the Salisbury steak or the country fried steak! HOLY MOLY BAT MAN! It's some good food. Love the live music and dancing on the weekends. Unsure how it is now with Covid. We did go and it was pretty spaced out.

Jerry M.

Yelp
Really looked forward to eating here based on descriptions- but found the good and drinks mediocre at best. Appetizers fried and greasy, steaks tough and chewy. Claimed they're well known for their bloody Mary's- nothing special. Not worth the drive out of town.

Amanda M.

Yelp
The Service is excellent and friendly! The brown gravy is so good I wanted to drink it. I recommend the Salisbury steak and I usually never like Salisbury steak. In the summer the deck is very peaceful.

Dan R.

Yelp
They need to update the listed hours. We just drove 30 minutes to have dinner but they were closed. We will try another time.

Meridith H.

Yelp
The service is usually good here but the last time we went, the service was the absolute worst. We went in on a Sunday afternoon around 1 pm. The place was not too busy and seemed to have a handful of locals there, mostly at the bar. After about 15 minutes of sitting there with NO, ZERO, ZILCH service, and watching a table that came in after us, get service before us, we finally got a waitress to come to our table and take our drink order but that's all we managed to get done because after another 10 minutes of waiting for our drinks and our waitress nowhere to be found, we finally saw our waitress and she was talking to other customers telling them where to sit but STILL had no drinks in her hand to serve. The lady tending bar could see we'd been sitting there for quite some time and yet she, nor the other waitress waiting on the table right smack dab next to ours did a thing. After having waited about another 10-15 minutes for our drinks, a water, a soda and a margarita, at that point, we got up and left telling the idiot waitress we were leaving since she couldn't seem to even bring water to our table. Close to 30 minutes and not even a glass of water! Nothing like hiring inept workers. We could tell she never even gave our drink order to the bartender because she wasn't making anything. That little waitress girl was worthless! She lacked any personality, couldn't answer simple questions about the menu, showed no enthusiasm whatsoever and seemed to also lack any common sense like get your customers their drinks first because 15 minutes later and no drinks makes for an unhappy customer and a bad review! She has no business being a waitress. When we told her we were leaving because we couldn't even get a drink after close to 30 minutes of sitting there yet others got served, she stood there looking confused and totally bewildered about why we were so unhappy. What an absolute idiot! The job of waitressing is clearly above this little girl's work skills. She might be more suited to be the Walmart greeter but that is probably above her skill level as well.

Melissa B.

Yelp
You seat yourself, as a kind customer had said to use as we walked in. I got a local beer which was really good. I also got the country fried steak mashed potatoes and a salad. It was all absolutely amazing. My fiancée had the prime rib it was super juicy and mouth watering. I am so happy I stopped here during my road trip.

Sheila C.

Yelp
This place is a hoot! We stumbled onto this place 4 years ago while driving across Happy Jack Road. The food is hardy, the dancing is fun and the western ware is real. For us out-of-towners, calling ahead for reservations is highly recommended or you get to wait while they seat the locals, or so it seemed to us. Also, if you come during the summer months, a fly swatter might be helpful, even if you eat indoors.

pinche d.

Yelp
We went here to beat the heat @ Frontier Days. Place was hella packed but there was good live music playin inside and bar service was quick. Unfortunately, the kitchen was backlogged the entire nighty we were there and it took about two hours for us to get any food. Prices are reasonable. The service was really good considering the chaos there. Food was decent but I'd go back here more for the nostalgia of the place then the food.

Paula R.

Yelp
The food was very good! Five of us had chicken fried steak, some with white gravy some with brown gravy, all was very tasty. One had a prime rib, he said it was good but not the best he has had. Baked potatoes and mashed potatoes were great. The desserts were yummy. If you are in the Cheyenne area, it is worth stopping in for a good meal and very, very friendly staff. Makes you smile

Z G.

Yelp
Great burger and prime rib!!! The atmosphere and service also made for a great experience!

Neal K.

Yelp
Went there Friday night. Music was so loud that we sat outside. They put us at a picnic table around the corner while the cowboy with the horse took up a whole table. Felt bad for the waitresses as they had to walk over some boards with trays. Main meal came out before salads and was not overally hot. Lighting was poor with a motion light that would not stay on so we used our cell phones. The waitresses were working very hard since they were busy. A manager never visited the table.
