Dear Bunk House Team,||I am writing to express my disappointment following a recent experience at your hostel.||Despite having a confirmed booking through Hostelworld, we arrived to find that you had no record of our reservation. We provided all the relevant booking details, which appeared to be in your system, yet we were told that Hostelworld had not passed the booking to you. The staff member on duty informed us that you were fully booked and offered no assistance or sympathy, leaving us without accommodation in Cardiff.||This lack of support and empathy in a stressful situation was incredibly disappointing. We were forced to find alternative accommodation at the last minute, incurring unexpected costs and added stress during what was supposed to be a pleasant trip.||I hope you will take this feedback seriously and review both your booking processes and staff training, especially regarding how to handle issues with care and professionalism when guests are left in such a difficult situation.

During a week vacation to a suburb outside of the city centre I decided to see more of my personal favourite that is Cardiff City Centre. Whilst, making my way back to Cardiff Central Train Station on one of the main shopping streets I heard the distinctive riddim of Drum 'n Bass. To my surprise this was from a street-level bar that openly promotes this British music genre of which am personally favourable to. The bar layout was pleasant with very nice staff whom informed me that the building is a combination of... Hostel, Bar & basement nightclub. A rarity indeed. Unique concept.

This place is CRAP.||It's never been great to start with. I went to Bunkhouse several times pre-covid when I was working down in Cardiff Bay.||2025 and it's completely downgraded. No more breakfast provided in the morning. Crappy little cages under the beds that are meant to be 'lockers' but you can't actually fit padlocks around them.||One shower room has a door that can't be locked. No communal kitchen. Just a microwave and a kettle with some cheap looking no frills 'coffee'||Is this business trying to kill itself. It's utter garbage for a hostel.|In fact, for what you're getting it's certainly not value for money at all!!

This place is not great even for a hostel. There are no showers or toilets or water facilities connected to the room instead there is only one available shower for the whole building and two toilets for the whole building. I left early, smelling like I’d just worked twelve hours down the pits pardon the pun.

Stayed here last night. Was a bit sceptical after reading reviews. Yes it was quite noisy but it was in the heart of the City centre. Cost was amazing. & the bathroom & sheets were clean . Great value for money.

As a solo female traveler, this was my first hostel experience. I stayed just for 2 nights to sleep in a mixed dorm (with 7 men) and for the price, it was OK and I felt safe.

I know this place for a while, am a happy regular, and even better now that a new management has turned the girls dorm into a self contained mini flat, with living room, microwave, sofas... one level above, with no noise from the bar downstairs... (although I like noise tho) I find it extremely quiet now, but never the less an imense improvement. Superb, and congrats guys, you're doing a really good job!!👍🏼 Can't wait to see the whole place done up!!

Zero customer service. My digital key put me in the wrong room and I couldn't not contact anyone from the hostel to resolve it. I tried 2 phone numbers and email with no response. The message at 'reception' said to go to the bar for help but it was closed so very frustrating time. I noticed a proper hostel just down the street so I would stay there for a few pounds more.
