Not a bad, cheap place to stay if you want somewhere cheap in Cardiff! You're paying for a hostel room, and if you're expecting this, you'll be more than happy. Mattresses are a bit hard (very subjective of course) but is otherwise sleepable.
The bunkbeds do creak and the doors slam quite loudly (comes with the hostel territory, pun not intended)
The DnB bar bass sound does come through, so if you're a light sleeper/get disturbed by noise, you'll need earplugs (or potentially need to stay elsewhere!)
Keep in mind you *need* to have internet to be able to access the hostel doors, the hostel does have a free WiFi you can use when near to the premises.
On the stay, had someone trying the doors to get in and knock on the dormitory doors (individually locked) at 5 in the morning, but the out of hours number supplied was responded to quickly and someone came up to check what was going on.
Facilities get cleaned daily, basic but serviceable, hot shower and lockable toilets along with a decent common room you can hide in for a bit.
