"Bunn Mike is a tiny place with a short menu to match. You’re here for a banh mi, and you can choose from six variations, ranging from one with grilled pork to a vegan option. They also serve chicory coffee, chips, and sodas. Seating is limited and the space is already tight to start with, but Washington Square Park is only two blocks away. One sandwich will fuel your afternoon, but you could also get away with sharing between two people." - Will Kamensky

This was my first visit to Bunn Mike, and I ordered the Vegan Vietnamese sandwich. The employee I talked to was courteous and cool overall. The sandwich itself was good in general, and a tofu in it was delicious, but I felt like the vegan mayo was lacking in taste a bit. (The regular mail may be better, but I didn't try it.) The restaurant has only been open since December 2017, but it will be closing on February 28th, 2018, because the entire dining area it is housed in, the Myriad, is closing. It will relocate to the North Beach area. I took a photo of the exact address for anyone who is interested.

When Bunn Mike was at The Myriad I had to make a decision whether to go or not due to distance. Nob Hill to Castro area isn't ideal. Then one day when Mike said he'll be looking for a more concrete location, I was on his heels ever since. This original location use to be Petit Deli then another sandwich shop and finally Bunn Mike. This place do make sense for sandwich operation. Main artery columbus ave that lead you to other parts of the city. Seating is limited to couple of tables outside and a chair or two inside. Menu is simple with three choice of protein. Currently there's a buy one and get second half off deal. Even though the move was short notice, they still churn out sandwich like it was nothing. Prices went up a dollar sine the move, but this is SF were things are expected to be pricey. Good size banh mi with locally baked baguette deliver daily and made to order. There's no skimping as each sandwich is made with care and love. I have try chicken and pork just can't decide which is my favorite. Both are good and tasty with same amount of filling. What's significant about the taste is homemade recipe that come from his mother. Seeing her helping out when needed is money well spent. If you never had Bunn Mike, I suggest to give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Super fresh sandwiches that make my mouth water just thinking about it, even after just eating a delicious traditional pork sandwich. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and friendly. They were running a little behind the day I went because they were loading in deliveries, so they gave me a free water and even a free sandwich for next time! How awesome is that?! I would have come back here for the sandwiches alone, but the people completely knock it out of the park for me. By the time you have read this, I will have probably already grabbed another delicious sandwich. You should do the same!

A hidden gem within San Francisco. This was the BEST nonplanned stop on our outing in SF. The place is quite small but offers a BIG punch of a sandwich. I ordered the regular. I truly believe that was the BEST sandwich I've ever had. From start to finish each bite was better than the last. The jalapeños exploded in each bite while the daikon and carrots made a medoly of their own. The cilantro kicks in to add a surprising touch of pizzazz you didn't think you needed from such a delectable masterpiece. Then the paté comes in to smooth all things out while the meats are smooth sailing in what I can only describe as an bon voyage departure from the best thing I ever ate.

Pretty disappointed in this bahn mi. I ordered the traditional and it came with cold cuts that tasted stale. The veggies weren’t bad but not amazingly fresh like you’d expect out of a typical bahn mi shop. Chip options were teeny tiny bags of Doritos or lays. Nothing fancy, and definitely not worth paying for. If you’re looking for good bahn mi in the area I like silver star deli and little window in Levi plaza.

Recently opened location that is known for making sandwiches. I ordered the 5 spice chicken Bánh mì and it was amazing. The only negative is that it took a bit longer than expected to receive it because the place was busy

Banh mi is just an amazing. We covered SE Asia in geography class, and I want to slap my teacher for never telling us about these sandwiches. This place has seriously good banh mi.
