On the Grid : Bunsen

"Beautifully simple American style burger joint that boasts arguably the best burger in the city. It has a stark menu with only a few items, leaving not much room to get it wrong. The hand cut fries are delicious and the milkshakes are pretty great too, definitely don’t come here if you aren’t that hungry." - It's Okay

Google
Without a doubt the best burger in Ireland is at Bunsen. The Bunsen here is always consistently good, the service is fantastic, and great food. I love the way they always ask you if you want vinegar with your fries. Who wouldn’t?

Google
The place was packed and me and my friends had to takeaway the burger but it was still soo delicious! I recommend going to a nearby park to sit and enjoy the sun but the only bad thing is that the seagulls were vicious and kept coming to us. The portion of the fries was really generous too!

Best burger I ever had! Very short menu but you do not need any more if you are coming to eat burger and that's what you get. Medium cooked patty was perfection. One small thing to improve is the chips, sweet potato chips was crunchy for first 5min but when get little cooler starting to get soggy. Overall 9.5/10 Strongly recommend if you like good burger.

Google
Super tasty burgers paired with thin, crispy shoestring fries. I love the simple menu—it makes choosing easy. The medium-cooked patties, combined with their signature sauce, create an amazing flavor. Everything is perfectly balanced, making each bite delicious and satisfying.

Google
Solid burgers, the only thing I would like it’s to get the meat a bit less cooked, even for medium rare that looked too cooked. Apart from that, staff was very friendly and quick with the orders

Google
One of the best burger 🍔 we’ve ever had, don’t ever bother with 5Guys if you are near a Bunson Burger

Louise Farren

Google
Nice friendly staff and quick service. However they got our to-go order entirely wrong even after we checked it with them twice. Missing a burger and one of the burgers we did receive was ordered as medium-well and was definitely rare when we received it. Quality of the food overall seems to have gone down as the fries were just okay. Pity as we used to love coming here for its high quality food.

Google
For me, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. Quick to prepare, flavorful, juicy, with perfect harmony between the bun and the meat. It’s not a dry burger like many out there. I highly recommend it. 9/10.

Yelp
Such a good burger and definitely a hoppin' spot. We visited fairly late on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed! It must be one of the trendier spots because there were a ton of 20-somethings. Definitely a cool, hip ambiance. While it was busy, we didn't have to wait for a table for 2. Our burgers came out in a flash, and you can definitely tell they were freshly made. The fries were great as well. Came here with a local so I guess it's safe to say this isn't a tourist trap spot :) Overall, a really good burger spot. Would certainly recommend.

Yelp
I think there's like 5-6 of these joints in Dublin and it was just over-hyped? Simple menu with just burgers, hand cut fries & drinks which I like. Place was a little sterile and they only cook down to Medium.. for me if a burger isn't MR I don't want it! Anyways, seen it on many *Best of Dublin* Lists and it kinda reminded me of Shake Shack when they first started and it was good! Produce was just ok.. fries were good and the service was fine. Is this the best burger in Dublin? No.. but a damn good one when you wanna hide from those pints of Guinness and just lay low/ talk later

Yelp
Wow! The burger was amazing! The fries (shoestring and hand cut) were delicious! Simple menu done very well. Very bummed though that I found this while on vacation. I'll be back before I leave!

Yelp
One of the best burgers I've had in recent memory! Excellent shoestring fries! Friendly and proficient staff!

Yelp
Bunsen is masterful simplicity, a restaurant that features hamburgers with only four slightly different variations and three types of fries. It's so straight forward, the menu is literally printed on a business card, easy to overlook as it's perched atop a stack of napkins on your table. Having eaten a number of burgers on our UK tour, we became accustomed to elaborate and innovative collaborations of toppings, and those definitely have their place! But Bunsen is so pure, so uncomplicated, that it's genius! You either order a single burger or a double, with cheese or without cheese. That's it. Enormous beef patties cooked perfectly grace the impossibly soft buns, with your choice of classic toppings like pickles, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. Side items are restricted to shoestring fries, hand-cut fries, or sweet potato fries. Simple, easy, delicious!

Yelp
Great burgers here, the meat is fresh and great tasting. I got my cheeseburger cooked medium and it was delicious. They do offer a double/double option in case you are super hungry. The potato wedges are fresh and delicious as well. Three menu is made on a business card so very small. They offer a burger or a cheeseburger in a one or two patties version with all the condiments on it. If you don't want some of the condiments just let them know. Great burger place overall, staff was nice and friendly; a must try while in Dublin.

Yelp
This was good. Really really good. As if Five Guys and Johnny Rockets (before they sold out - 30 years ago) had a love burger and this was it. Fresh, juicy, well topped yummyness. Half a star for meat to stuff ratio ( for 9 bucks I want a bigger patty) and half a star for this hipster wanna be server who was too cool for things like actually taking our order, bringing the check, change, etc preferring the two tables near us with 20 something females. I get it but hey, we are still paying customers. Fries were really really good. Shake was weird... bits of chocolate chunks... had to chew before swallowing. Love the menu... simple, direct and on top of the napkins (so don't ask for one). ;) Would gladly go back.

Yelp
Big wet congealed mess of a burger. Ur fingers cut thru the soggy bun when u hold it. Also, they wouldn't allow me sit in the empty side until they filled the other side first. Which during a pandemic is bad management. I know why places do that, it's to make it look busy from outside. But the manager sticking to this rule obviously doesn't take covid seriously, and that worries me. (Wexford street Bunsen)

Yelp
Great food! Burgers are delicious and milkshakes are intensely flavorful. We had burgers fries and one of each flavor milkshake! Chocolate strawberry and vanilla. Highly recommend for casual dinner or lunch. Also restrooms were super clean! Always a huge plus

Yelp
Pretty girls running the front end good beer fresh good quality meat. What could be bad. Absolutely loved the burgers here. They tasted as good as they look in the pictures. Super friendly service also. After heavy French food in Paris needed something simple. This didn't disappoint. Shoe string fried were great. Had the Whipped Irish pale ale. Very refreshing. Now over to Temple Bar for pint of Guisness

Yelp
Great place. Recommended! I like it because its simple and always quick. We waited for about 10- 15 min to get a table. After sitting down we ordered really quick and they serve us really fast. Staff is always friendly! Burgers are not dry and chips are crispy. I have never tried milkshake - i would love to but i dont drink milk for about a year now.

Yelp
It's like an adults version of mc Donald's. Like a restaurant mixed with a night club. Its an interesting concept. Dark sultry interior. Seating could be more comfortable and toilets nicer. Food has a good taste. Burgers are good and moist. Not much of a menu to choose from. No chicken or vegetarian options. The 4 burger options and the rest of the menu are presented to you in a business card. The drinks menu is the biggest thing in this place. It gets a chalk board to itself. I wouldn't come back. Have tried it and there is nothing on the menu that I would need to return to try.

Yelp
Bunsen, a chain burger restaurant in Dublin and obviously doing well to say they have a number of restaurants in such a small area. The wait time for a table of 8 was just over an hour - annoying sure but we happily waited in a bar across the road and headed over once we received our text. The concept is simple - you have 4 choices of burgers: with or without cheese, single or double. The toppings are pickles, lettuce, tomato and their sauce. You have 3 chip options: hand cut, shoe-string or sweet pot. And you have have a shake or soda if you choose. That's it. All these options are presented to you via their business card menu - trying to be too cool? Yeah, I think so! Service was annoyingly slow and we had to ask for them to take both our drinks and food order. As the large table was at the back of the restaurant it felt like we were basically forgotten at times. I opted for the double cheese burger with all the toppings, the hand cut fries and a vanilla milkshake - when in Rome right? The food arrived and I felt was very Americanized: burger in paper wrapping, chips in an open cardboard box and milkshake in a paper cup with plastic lid and straw. Not a problem, just explaining their theme. The chips were great. Not to thick and not to thin, just perfect once I poured that much need salt and vinegar. Now to the main event - the burger. You know what, it was pretty god damn good. The meat was cooked perfectly (medium), sure it was a rather messy burger (very saucy) and quite tricky to eat but for all it's simplicities, it was good. For me, I'd like to have at least the option of adding bacon on there and my eyes were definitely to big for my belly - a single is more than enough but I enjoyed it. The milkshake was a bit of a let down - nothing special, way too watery for me. Let's just say I'd definitely opt for a McDonalds vanilla over this one but again I think it's their message of simplicity. Overall I have to give it a three - I think for such a simple menu you have to have the few things you have on point and there was just a few let downs. I would however return if their wasn't a queue!

Yelp
This place has one main food item on the menu and that is burgers, available as a hamburger or cheeseburger or either of those doubled. Different types of fries are offered on the side, and there's some drink variety (incl. milkshakes), but the menu is overall small enough to fit on a business card (which is exactly how the menu is presented). We had a good time here - the space is small but clean, and the burgers are decent. The meat itself could have been seasoned more, but the toppings included (can be altered per request) redeemed the dish as a whole. Good shoestring fries as well. Not a life-altering experience, but an interesting spot to try if you're craving burger!

Yelp
Back to the basics, nothing new but well done. The first thing that you´ll notice is the menu: just in the size of a business card with few options, burger with or without cheese, simple or double, cooked as you want (you will be asked if you want to have it well done, medium or even may raw...). The burger is self has a good meat quality, it is juicy and very tasty. The chips as well. Few beer options are there as well, you just have to ask for them. To be honest I don't like to much this kind of "production" venues, where the designer doesn't include any kind of decorations to avoid diverting attention of the most important thing in the place: the hamburger. You can´t even reserve a table the day before or have a dessert, the production never stops. But if you like hamburgers and just hamburgers, you are in the right place.

Yelp
BURGERS, BURGERS, BURGERS! Yep, want a straight up burger, cooked to your preference then look no further! Menu is bad ass... Simples Cheeseburger Hamburger (make them double if you want) 3 options of fries and bam, you're done. Been here in a few occasions and always enjoy the food and also the vibe going on here!

Yelp
Possibly the worlds best burger. I've had burgers in London, New York, Rome, Paris and Barcelona but no where touches my local favourite. Freshly ground meat. Delicious brioche buns. And a menu so short and simple that if yo failed to deliver itd be a problem. ...but they don't. Ever. Simply put - if you don't like Bunsen, you're stupid and I hate you.

Yelp
I know I'm not the first person to think it's a bit mad that a place like this, with an idea so simple, could be so successful in the centre of the city, but that's Dublin for you. We're really just a crowd of hipsters looking for cheap, tasty eats in a weird setting we can brag about. It was a welcome change from all of the 17 euro meals we had been passing as my friend and I searched for something to eat. You can eat easily here for about a tenner. You have all the details from other reviews but the business card menu idea is really just brilliant. Cheap, easy and quirky, as well as something people can take away with them as a reminder. We did have to wait 40 minutes for a table but we gave our number and went for a pint and they texted when it was ready for us, which was really handy. There are basically two things on the menu: Burger, and Cheeseburger. You can double them up, and you can choose from 3 side orders and lots of drinks, but that's about the size of it. We went for one of each burger, and also one of each fries, just to be safe. I didn't really eat any of the shoestring fries because the sweet potato were just to die for, and I didn't want to waste any space in my tummy. The burger was tasty but I was recovering from illness the day before so I really wasn't hungry enough for all of it. I also had it medium rare, and it was a little too rare (WHAT?! ME!?), so I kind of just nibbled around the outside. The service was pretty good, though it took getting three people's attention to get our card swiped at the end. Massive bonus points for having cans of 7up available, because that shtuff is the nectar of heaven and it's a rare find. None of your Sprite silliness thanks very much. Great place for a decent meal and not too expensive!

Yelp
Love this place!!!!! I've never had a bad experience in Bunsen!Every time I have friends come to visit Dublin I always bring them here for lunch, the food is really quick and always super fresh! I would defiantly be a burger person and Bunsen never disappoints! I always go for the cheese burger medium-rare with all the topping and hand cut fries as a side!!It's really cheap and usually comes to around 10 euro, which is perfect for lunch!! The staff are so friendly and helpful and always ask if every thing is ok durning your meal! It gets really busy at lunch time form 12pm so get in early!

Yelp
Bunsen...the name has connotations of the scientific and there is definitely some kind of alchemy at work here in how they manage to transfigure the humble burger into something mind-blowing by focusing on each of its component parts and getting them spot on. 'Tis burger perfection to be sure and the superlatives that have been employed to describe the place are definitely due. Best burger in town...let's just leave it at that. The sweet potato fries are pretty epic here too. Science might well be at play in its name, but Bunsen is pure magic.

Yelp
Excellent burger, among the best I've ever had! Extremely juicy and delicious Any place with a tiny menu (in this case, it fits on a business card) I expect great things from because they have no excuses. Bunsen does it right, they do two things: burgers and fries, and both are phenom. The sweet potato fries are expensive but definitely worth it. The "shoestring" fries are more just normal cut fries, definitely not thin like the shoestring fries I've had elsewhere. My only complaint is the seasoning on the meat, it's amazing what the right amount of salt will do for a burger and for me that would have taken it from 4 stars to 5. This place is tiny so it's always packed and you'll probably wait in line no matter when you go. Because of how busy it is, be prepared to be shooed out once you're done eating, and with very little tact. They always need another table so you'll be painfully aware of this. The staff in general are cold, which is a shame. The thing is, that won't stop me from going back because when I'm craving a good burger there's just no other place that will do it for me!

Yelp
OMG, I had a burger with the works here at lunchtime today and it ROCKED!! So so tasty. This time the server asked how we wanted the burger cooked, even though I was ready to ask for it well done. And it was done perfectly. I demolished it. Inhaled it. Stuffed my face. I fear Bunsen might be my new obsession... which is not good for my waistline. PS they do beer and wine now, its on a board on the wall. Spotted this today.
google avatar

Gavin S.

Yelp
OMG!! Burgers! WOW, WOW, WOW.. Incredibly simple menu, 4 burgers, three types of fries. Hamburger, double hamburger, cheese burger & double cheese burger, skinny fries, chunky fries, Sweet Potato Fries and drinks! We had to wait for about 10 mins to get a table as this is a popular place and the short wait was totally worth it. The main event, the cheese burger! it was amazing - our waitress ask me how I would like the burger to be cooked (a sign that the kitchen are confident in there meats and how fresh the meat is.). I went for medium rare, and medium rare is how it came out! Toppings were cheese, lettuce, pickle & onion. When I'm back again I'll just be ordering a Double Cheeseburger without fries! So dam good!!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
It's a little difficult to add what those before me have already written. I can only comment on the burgers as that's all I tasted. It's good. It's damn good. It's messy. It's damn messy. But it's tasty. It's damn tasty. It tastes like a burger you'd make yourself at home - good quality meat, not absolutely massive, and not messed around with too many additions. Just your good honest meat, cheese, gherkin (this was actually my favourite bit, and I don't even like gherkins!), onion and a nice soft bread bun. I have two gripes however - the first being the messiness - it literally leaked all over me. Had to change my clothes afterwards - ruined with burger gank. YUK! The second one was the price - I believe it was €7.50 for the burger. I think that's a bit much for something so plain with no drinks, chips or extras in this day and age. Maybe that's just me! Either way I shall be back. Tis a good honest tasty as hell meatlicious solid lump of a burger.
google avatar

Melanie W.

Yelp
The biggest draw for this place is it's simplicity. The menu is so small it fits on a business card. The drinks menu is longer and includes a nice variety of beers, including delicious IPAs. The burgers are small but perfectly cooked. I chose mine to be cooked medium rare, mmm, so juicy I am salivating even now at the thought of it. I would advise anyone with a large appetite to get the double but the regular burger with shoestring fries was enough for me and I left feeling happily full and not bloated. One thing against it was the state of the toilet, not that dirty just messy. A shame to be let down on such a small thing.
google avatar

Jane D.

Yelp
Best burger in Dublin...fooo shizz!! The burgers are moist, oozy, delicious patties in a heavenly home made fresh bouncy bun. Pickle, onion, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard and Mayo are the accompaniments with the burger. No messing, just the classics and it works. If it ain't broke don't fix it. There's 3 types of fries. Shoestring, home-cut and sweet potato. Home-cut wud defo b my fav, but the others are just as tasty. Milkshakes are guuuuud too. Well I've only Had chocolate but it was rich and luscious. If ur getting a double burger tho Ya might wanna stick to beer or soda, cuz they are fillinggg.. Small menu = short review. Great burgers, great flavours, great value, great joint :)

Yelp
I popped into Bunsen when out with a friend for a quick snack last week and with the rain pouring down thought we'd just jump across the road and check it out having heard good things. First off I have to say that this really was a tasty burger! I went for the double cheeseburger which was juicy, fat, phat and almost finished me off even with my legendary appetite. The only problem I found was that the offerings were all a bit one dimensional - you could either get a single or double beef or cheese burger. That basically seemed to be it - no fancy toppings which left me wanting something a little more. I also found the chips a bit tasteless (prices were good though - it was 22 Euros for a single burger, a double cheeseburger, a beer and a coke) Don't get me wrong I enjoyed our visit but it had more of a 'fastfoody' feeling to it than I was hoping for - I was just looking for more of a long term chill venue than the 30 mins we stayed to order, consume and pay. Nice to see them selling some craft beers like Sierra Nevada and Brewdog
google avatar

Michael O.

Yelp
Absolutely top quality burger from this joint on Camden street. I knew I was in for an experience when I found myself having to wait twenty minutes to be seated on a Wednesday evening. The menu is a cool little business card which I slipped straight into my wallet after ordering as a keepsake. The menu is minimalist, but once you take your first bite into the burger, you'll find the limited options dont matter. I had the double burger (cooked medium raw) and it was like none other I've had before. Everything about it was delicious, from the soft sticky bun, the beef and the freshness of the veg! I also ordered the sweet potato fries and the portion size ensured I was leaving Bunsen full to the brim. All in all the Bunsen experience was one I really enjoyed. If I was to be critical I would say servoce was a bit slow but I suppose you have to take into account it was a full house on a Wednesday and not every eatery can boast this type of atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Totally lives up to the hype. Definitely a menu styled off of In and Out in California, Bunsen delivers freshly minced burgers to order. It being freshly minced allows them to offer you the option to order it rare or medium rare (an oddity in Ireland, I can assure you). The meat is exceptionally fresh, the chips perfectly crisp and the shake wonderfully creamy. I'm craving a bit of Bunsen right now and I think we'll be making a pre-flight stop back in central Dublin before we head back to California for some Bunsen burgers.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
BEST BURGER EVER! Just to die for, really. I took the double cheese burger with sweet potato chips, awesone, I really recommend! (The only "bad thing" to say maybe, is that I was expecting more cheese for a double cheese burger..)
google avatar

Annie G.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise! While exploring Dublin we stopped into Bunsen for a quick lunch and were happy that we did. The menu is small with just a few varieties of burgers and fries. They serve alcohol as well as some local beers. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was everything you would want a burger to be. Very flavorful and juicy and all the burger ratios were perfect. The fries were fresh and delicious as well. Great customer service and prices. The place is smaller but is clean and fuss-free. I seriously crave Bunsen often, too bad I am across the Atlantic.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious, classic American burgers & fries in Dublin. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries!
google avatar

Darren C.

Yelp
A bunch of us went here recently and brought along a Bunsen virgin. I myself am quite familiar with this local (I used to rent on Aungier Street) and am always astonished how it still takes my breath away. That first meaty, succulent, moist bite with a taste that is just pure more. So then the second and third and then......it's all over too soon. But I love that it's not a gutbuster, I never find myself rolling out of Bunsen, just always so satisfied. The Bunsen virgin........his words, "where has this burger been all my life!!" haha :)
google avatar

Mr C.

Yelp
Do you see normal burger places you go and you get a signature burger from the set menu and has loads and loads of toppings that not everybody eats... But NOW Bunsen has burgers that are simple and easy to understand, they only use Cheese & Meat = perfect ratio of a patty! It's easy to describe but the places you hear from your friends oh this place has a burger that melts in your mouth! - you must try it! BUNSEN BURGERS MELT IN YOUR MOUTH! Really worth a visit!
google avatar

Gary W.

Yelp
I have heard so much about Bunsen and their perfect burgers. I was in the neighbourhood and hungry so I popped in. It was late afternoon so I was the solo diner for a few minutes. I ordered a vanilla shake and a cheeseburger. The shake came immediately and the burger a few minutes later. I enjoyed my burger a lot. It was certainly the best burger I have eaten in Dublin although the burgers I had in Big Als in Sitges and in Mojitos in Corralejo this year were tastier to my mind. The woman who was serving was very friendly. I personally think this is a great place to pop into for a quick bite for an hour. I wouldn't really be thinking of it as a dinner destination
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
This is undoubtably the best burger in Dublin. Perfect location, perfect bun, perfect patty and your choice in what type of chips. It's all about the burger meat, which is bursting with flavours and juicy goodness. No overpowering sauces to try deceive you. The Q is always out the door at lunch time, worth the wait though, even killing time in neighbouring shops seems enjoyable.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Excellent burgers! Not a huge selection, but it's well worth it. Their skinny fries are great as well! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Taher K.

Yelp
One of the best cheeseburger I have ever eaten. Ordered a well done burger but I guess a medium would be fine too.

Yelp
Ok so I said I was going to start being a strict yelper and holding off giving 5 stars for only too quality places....... And I'm sticking to my word! I lived in London last year and thankfully I experienced a Bunsen before I moved so it was my benchmark for my time there and only a select few lived up to it. Hands down Dublins best burger. Simplicity in the menu makes for an easy order. Quality ingredients. 5 Guys in New York (London branch doesn't come close to it) is probably the only other fast food burger I've had that tops it. Small tip the queue at lunch time are insane so skip out of work 15mins early to grab a table.

Yelp
THE IN AND OUT BURGER OF DUBLIN! I have been here now twice, once for take-away before a gig in the National Concert Hall and sitting in this evening. There was no difference in the quality of what I received on either occasion. This is what Dublin has been missing. A Simple menu of Hamburger/Cheeseburger (Double options available for the ridiculously hungry) These are cooked how you like 'em with consistency and without fuss. I always have a cheeseburger but disagree with reviewers that say they forgo the fries! Wow, the sweet potato variety are sublime if somewhat pricey, the shoestring are perfection but as I ate mine somebody ordered the hand cut and their skins are still on and in the words of Liz Lemon: I want to go to there. A selection of beers are also available which it doesn't state on the menu, I can't look past Sierra Nevada when it comes to beef but other beers are available. As with the food, Gluten free options are available! The staff were more than helpful when the restaurant was empty and this did not change as it suddenly reached capacity! Toilets clean. Price Nice. hold the tomato! THE END.
google avatar

Lana P.

Yelp
The shortest menu ever but also the best burger ever! The products cooked are so high quality that it seems you eat very healthy food! It can be a little bit crowded for diner. Nevertheless, for lunch on Sunday, it is perfect! Go go go !
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
The only downfall of this place is that you always have to wait 20- 40 minutes to get a seat and thats on a quiet night or lunch! Very simple menu- Burger with fries or double cheeseburger with fries. Be prepared for a food coma afterwards. Also for what you get the price is so great. You shouldn't spend more than €12 and that includes all the toppings and a drink! Cool ambience although It wouldn't be a great for a personal conversation as the person next to you could hear every word! Have a lot of time for Bunsen and one of my favorite places for a burger.

Yelp
GOOD stuff. A little pricey but worth it for the effort they go into getting good ingredients and making homemade buns. We ordered a double cheeseburger, a cheeseburger, shoestring fries and sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were crunchy on the outside, deliciously moist on the inside - usually sweet potato fries are soggy, but not here! The shoe string fries were also amazing and not to thin, which was what I was worried about. We got our burgers cooked medium, the way they recommend it and the way I recommend it. My boyfriend got the Dead Pony Club Pale Ale (Brewdog) - it had a fruity smell and was nice and refreshing. Tip - keep the burger in the wrapper as you bite in. It's juicy.

Yelp
I had : Sweet potato fries, cheeseburger and Sierra Nevada Burger perfection. I had heard rumors of how good the burgers here were so finally made it my mission to test it out for myself. I was a little skeptical, I mean the menu is teensy! That is probably a good thing though. They have perfected what they do with the burgers. The pickles, the bun, the meat itself. Delicious. I've craved a burger like this since trying similar in the states. You can ask for it cooked in any way you like. I got mine medium well and that was just perfect for me. I chanced my arm asking if it was possible to get half sweet potato fries, have regular but it wasn't. That's ok though, I tried a friend's regular fries and they were NOTHING on the sweet potato ones. Perfectly crispy on the outside. I've heard rumors of there being a veggie burger available but forgot to ask. Will need to return for... erm... research purposes to ask (and maybe grab a burger and a shake...) The queueing system is pretty cool too. We arrived on a Saturday night. It was the start of January so most places seemed pretty empty but there was a 45 minute wait. No New Year's Resolutions here! We left our name and number with the waitress and popped across the road to Against the Grain for a pint. We received a text informing us that our table was ready and that we had 10 minutes to grab our table.

Yelp
Best burger I've had in Dublin. The menu is on a business card. They know what they are good at and they do it so well. I like my burgers medium well and it was done to perfection. They wont do the burger rare. The least they will cook it is medium. So if you like your burgers quite red, this place may not suit you. But don't let that put you off, the chips are amazing and I've heard great things about the sweet potato fries as well. The only thing is the milkshakes are €4.50 which i think is a bit expensive considering the size of them. I have never gotten one because I consider them too expensive.

Yelp
Finally got to try Bunsen. It's been on the list for a while. It's another pretty funky place opened in Dublin. Seems like a lot of these kind of places are about these days. I had the cheeseburger with home fries. It was really good- the only issue was the bun was a bit cold and the service was pretty slow- slower than it should have been at lunch time. The fries are great though. Tried my friends milkshake which was awesome. See they do gluten free options too which will suit a friend who misses his burger and chips. The price is a little steep for lunch but there would be enough of the fries to share so it's definitely not stingey portions. Will go back.

Yelp
Enough has been said about Bunsen burgers that to repeat it would be redundant - so I'll provide some context! My brother and sister-in-law visited from America for a few nights, so of course we needed somewhere to go before starting the bars! Bunsen was that place. Now, don't get me wrong, we have some GOOD burgers in California, but they loved the place so much that they actually ended up coming back again before their trip was over! Simplistic menu, you can grab a wine or beer with your burger, good fries (including sweet potato), it's just a solid option all around! The burgers only go as rare as medium - but that's nice and pink and juicy so no complaints! Excellent, excellent, excellent.

Yelp
Oh my goodness this filled us right up. Delicious and quick compared to the other nearby restaurants. Recommend for a great burger and fries!
