We had an amazing dinner, we slipped in later in the evening, and it worked out so well to top it off. I had an amazing espresso martini, love the bartender, great place to go. I highly recommend it. Service was outstanding.

Nice little place. For our Anniversary and my wife bday We came here during out trip to sensorio in Pado Robles looking for Carbonara . We parked in front and was greeted by the young ladies at the door, we didn’t have reservation but was seated right away. The atmosphere in side was quiet and warm. After a few mins my Server came, since this my first time in an Italian Restaurant, he throughly walked me through each of the sauces and pastas. Forgot his name. We eneded up with Seafood Whitewine Creamy Pasta & Angus Prime Steak. Bread and olive spead was served. Over all , my wife really loved the pasta and I loved the steak. Good food, good people,

My wife and I arrived in Paso Robles on a Monday evening and this was our first time in Paso. We had no idea where to go for dinner and found this place on google. I made a last minute reservation for 8:30pm, there was no availability before that. When we arrived the place was packed and only our table was available. I knew right away, this was a good sign and while walking to the table I could tell people were happy with what they were eating. We ordered a few cocktails, an appetizer and each of us had a pasta entree. Everything we had here was great. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and not loud for a fully packed restaurant. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice Italian meal in Paso Robles. We will be back again.

The food and service here are amazing! It's a small spot, so it's echoey, and the tables are a bit crowded. The interior decor is beautiful, though. The staff here is super friendly. The two pasta dishes we ordered were perfect. We will definitely return.

Get the artichoke salad and in house made tortellini with red sauce to start. They are both dishes you must try! Service was great, I love the white table cloth touch and cozy atmosphere!

This is one of our go-to restaurants whenever we are in Paso. The dining room has a cool open-kitchen atmosphere and it always has a busy vibe and great service. There are also a few outdoor tables and the temperature was perfect for Al fresco dining, but we chose to enjoy the ambiance of the interior. The menu offers plenty of great pasta primis and protein-centric secondis, along with antis and salads. I started with the tasty beef carpaccio and my friend had an excellent porcini-and-other-mushroom soup. On our first visit, one delicious and creative dish inspired my own take on it for my Chef’s Apprentice YouTube channel (my lobster and prosciutto ravioli Soubice, the inspiration for which I credited to BT). Unfortunately, they didn’t have it on our second visit. There was a similar agnolotti with scampi, which was very good, but I like the lobster version more. The sauce also seemed a little heavier this time but I have no complaints. For carnivores who can’t decide, there was a tagliatelle with a delicious braised chicken, beef, pork, and duck ragout, which had little pick-outable pieces to savor individually and guess which one they were. I particularly liked the way the wine list is organized, which made easy pickins (we chose a local wine, an Austin Hope, but Italy is also well represented if you want to pair Italian wine with Italian food). We’ll be back.

Experiencing the Buona Tavola Italian Restaurant in Paso Robles, California, felt like a real Italian adventure. For a year and a half, I’ve driven past that restaurant, fantasizing about its food, wine, and ambiance. Evening photos of this restaurant are strikingly beautiful and captivating. Seeing them in person is delightful during the holiday season. I found the online reservation system quick, easy, and worthwhile. The restaurant was so popular with locals and visitors that a long line formed at 5:30PM when it opened for dinner. I got my table in under 5 minutes thanks to my reservation. Our dining experience began with Christmas carols and sparkling water. I quickly ordered the restaurant’s special Italian bread with their homemade Buona Tavola’s Olivata spread. I decided to pair my meal with a glass of Italian white wine, specifically Pinot Grigio from Bollini, Veneto, Italy, along with a delicious appetizer called Bruschetta al pomodoro fresco e basilico. Which is grilled garlic bread, roma tomatoes, basil, and extra virgin olive oil and goat cheese. I wanted to try two entrees for dinner, so I skipped the salad and went straight to the Risotto del Cusio, made with Carnaroli rice, freshwater shrimp, porcini mushrooms, organic herbs, white wine, and chicken broth. Then, I ordered the Capellini al filetto di pomodoro e basilico—a delicious angel hair pasta dish with tomato, garlic, basil, and extra virgin olive oil. I enjoyed a bottle of Brunello Di Montalcino Silvio Nardi, a 2018 Italian red wine, with my dinner. The red wine complemented the Italian entrees perfectly at dinner. Naturally, I indulged in the renowned Italian ice cream dessert on the menu, Gelato Misto, featuring three sea sonal homemade gelato flavors accompanied by warm chocolate sauce or basil syrup. I loved dinner and plan to return during the holidays. Kudos to the chefs, staff, and owner! Thank you.

Yelp
Food and service was excellent!! We dined family style. Bruschetta was the best I've ever had. Arrabbiata penne was perfect amount of spicy and pasta cooked to perfection. Rib eye was so good I wanted it the next day! Ending the evening with chocolate soufflé. Can't remember our waiters name. We sat outside and our service was wonderful from the time we were greeted by the friendly hostess and on. Overall great experience. Been trying to come here every time I make a visit. Looking forward to next time.

Yelp
There was a cozy, romantic vibe to the restaurant that we loved. Our server was very friendly and helpful answering all of our menu questions. The Tortelloni alla Piemontese was phenomenal (I substituted the mushroom tomato sauce for a creamy tomato one). One of the best pasta dishes I've had in a while. The drinks were also great.

Yelp
Service was excellent! I made a rezy for 930pm and the restaurant staff called to let me know that kitchen closes at 930. We had the seafood linguini pasta - the seafood was fresh and tasty, the linguini was lack sufficient flavor. We had the chocolate souffle - it was nicely plated but the taste was underwhelming. Chocolate did not run. Fancy interior and upscale vibes.

Yelp
Had high expectations. We were a group of ten. Staff seemed disorganized and a bit overwhelmed - unexpected on a weeknight. Service was slow, inattentive, and struggled to deliver courses in concert. Cocktails were well received. I heard comments about the food that ranged from "excellent" to "bland" and "could have been better". The sausage on my pasta dish was heavy with cinnamon and nutmeg - a bold experiment for an Italian restaurant. I was warned and accepted the risk. That was a mistake. Another data point that left me disappointed in the Paso Robles food scene. Except for breakfast.

Yelp
My party of 4 didn't have reservations but we were fortunate to have seating at the bar on a busy Sunday evening. The best food we ate was the homemade bread with olive tapenade. Sadly all of the meals were a miss. I started with the soup of the day, cream of cauliflower. This probably was good until it was watered it down. That's my guess, anyway. I chose the linguine with seafood as my entree. Unfortunately the order got put in incorrectly and I received the wrong entree. This happens, I understand! And my entree was generously comped. However the scallops had no sear, the sauce had no depth and I had asked for no shrimp and sure enough, I was staring at shrimp. I tried the tortiglioni del bun gustaio which is pasta with braised eggplant and the eggplant was waaay undercooked. The other meals were not memorable. The bartender was super busy that evening and over worked.

Yelp
This place hit. After a day of wine tasting we were craving carbs and multiple hosts had recommended Buoma Tavola I got the papardelle Alla San Pietro and my partners got the tortelloni bufalino. The papardelle sauce was luxurious and creamy and flavorful. There was a ton of shrimp! The tortelloni was stuffed with veal and the pasta itself was extremely thin. It reminded me on wontons, and was some of the best tortellini I have eaten. We also got the insalata di gamberi e capesante. Tons of shrimp and two pieces of scallops. All the food here was great and the olive tampenade was fabulous! Super fresh and not too briny. You definitely need a reservation here. We called and tried to see if we could be seated early and the front desks girls told us know but when we showed up in person the bar is first come first serve. Would definitely recommend this place for a date night or after wine tasting. Lots of parking and big portions.

Yelp
This was our 4th visit and all I can say is it just gets better and better. We were lucky enough to get a reservation (suggested) on short notice and secured a very nice table with a wonderful and very efficient server... Andreas read us very well... We are diners..., savoring each dish and enjoying each others company, no rushing. We were allowed ample time to enjoy our cocktail before ordering and then proceeded to order an appetizer and then moving in to a fabulous dinner then a shared desert... everything was hot well presented and delicious... highly recommend this tried and staying true to its roots restaurant

Yelp
Jamie made our anniversary dinner perfect! Probably one of the best servers we had on our trip - she was attentive, kind and updated us on our meal. We came in on a Sunday at 6:00 PM and we were lucky enough to get one of the last two tables left (without a reservation). We ordered the arugula prosciutto salad, cheese ravioli, veggie/italian sausage pasta and the chocolate soufflé. The salad is something I would drive back to have - the dressing was smooth to bring all the flavors together. The cheese ravioli was perfect for me - due to my eggplant allergy, they were able to take care of no cross contamination. My boyfriend enjoyed the broccoli and bell peppers in his pasta. We finished off with the soufflé and it was pretty good. A bit more of a really gooey lava cake but the flavoring of the raspberry sauce really pulled the chocolate taste forward. It was super busy so you could heard all the conversations happening and watching the servers run back and forth.

Yelp
The service is excellent, friendly and courteous. Comfortable seating and allows for larger groups. The food was exceptional. Wife had the pasta with mussels and really enjoyed it. We'll certainly be back. Great place for a special occasion.

Yelp
Last visit to this restaurant was back in 2021 during a wine tasting trip. Back in Paso Robles for another wine tasting trip, decided to go to this Italian restaurant for dinner. It was 6pm on Sunday evening, six of us showed up without reservation. The restaurant was full but there's an outdoor table not yet occupied. However, we were told that it's reserved but the guests had not yet showed up. The receptionist told us to wait for a while, and she called the guest. Luckily, the guest cancelled the booking so we took that table and enjoyed the nice breeze of the beautiful summer evening. We ordered four antipasto to share and six entrees. They were all very delicious, same as last visit! The only little thing that I would complain is that all the pastas were not cooked al dent enough, and the veal was a bit over-cooked. Overall it's once again a very delightful dining experience. Will definitely come back and look forward to the next visit to Paso.

Yelp
The ambiance, the food and the service phenomenal. Stopped by as part of our road trip. Luckily we got in right when they opened. Our server Jaimie was fantastic. She catered to our every need. The table service was attentive. The food was extremely exceptional, fresh, flavorful and wholesome. We did it all, the clam and mussel appetizers is a must. Pasta, veal and ravioli dishes very delicious. Espresso and dessert all good. My son loves tiramisu. He hasn't tasted tiramisu like this. He loved it. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Food was excellent, service was prompt and attentive. We sat outside as it was the only table available at the time. It was fine considering we are from Vegas.

Yelp
We stopped in Paso Robles for lunch last Monday to break up a long drive from Monterey to Los Angeles. We were looking for a nice place where we could both feed two small children and enjoy a leisurely end-of-vacation meal with their grandparents. Buona Tavola seemed to fit the bill, and they were wide open when I made a reservation for our party of six. The restaurant was charming with a definite Italian American feel, from the fancy italic font to the Andrea Bocelli/Frank Sinatra soundtrack. Service was welcoming and helpful. We were able to relax, even with two kids under five. I even had a mid-day glass of wine, a white blend by local winery Treana. The food was delicious, starting with soft complimentary bread served with an addictive house spread. This was the olivata, which the restaurant also sells by the jar. A wonderful mix of black olives, mustard seed, infused herbs, Italian olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. I got the agnolotti fra diavolo for my lunch, and it was superb, delicate homemade half-moon ravioli stuffed with shrimp scampi, braised onions, and prosciutto in a lightly spiced tomato sauce. My husband's tortelloni bufalina was great too, homemade pasta stuffed with fresh mozzarella and finished with tomato sauce. Our kids, for their part, took down a big bowl of penne with butter and parmesan. I was very happy with this lunch. It added great pleasure to a full day of driving. I'd love to go back to Buona Tavola, either on the road or on a more proper visit to town.
google avatar

Olivia F.

Yelp
I don't usually opt for Italian on a night out but my sister brought us here while we were in town and it was fabulous! We brought a bottle of wine and had the best beef carpaccio app and great mains. We ordered the Agnolotti with sweet corn, truffle and cream sauce. My boyfriend ordered truffle fettuccine Alfredo - lots of truffle! Highly recommend visiting and trying the carpaccio!!!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our time at this quaint little restaurant. The service was very attentive. The food was delicious. Perfectly cooked fish. The seafood pasta was just the right amount and flavorful. The noodles were cooked al dente.

Yelp
We just arrived to Paso wanted to have something warm and satisfying for dinner. We just popped in this very quaint and charming Italian eatery. Monday night the place was packed. We were lucky to get two seats at the bar. It's a tiny restaurant, but filled with lots of personality We enjoy the carpaccio salad with radicchio the artichoke and tomato salad was pretty good, but my favorite was the Italian soup. Such a delicious fresh warm satisfying flavors. We also enjoyed the pesto gnocchi, which was a little bit too creamy for my taste. The wines are very nice. The service was amazing if you have the opportunity when you're in Paso Robles, you should stop by or if you want a nice table make a reservation.

Yelp
This place is small. But... I prefer that it is. I'll start w the Staff. They are as good as it gets. Very Professional and Attentive. Was very impressed. We were nervous that it was going to be too loud but not at all. Very comfortable. The food was perfect for us. Great flavors, portions and appearance. Timing for everything was great. I highly suggest you check it out. Make your reservation. Parking is all around.

Yelp
I really loved this restaurant. I had a 6pm reservation and the place was already packed. I guess everyone else enjoys it too. My waiter and other staff were attentive. Sometimes when you dine alone, staff can ignore you but they were great. They brought some bread and olive tapenade. These were tasty and different that the standard oil and vinegar dippint. I started with the Insalata di Parma: A salad of fresh arugula, red apple, crushed walnut, diced roma tomato tossed with homemade balsamic dressing, petal of parmesan cheese served over imported parma prosciutto. This was delicious and huge. I could not eat it all as I wanted to save room for my entree. Loved all the toppings and the prosciutto was delicious. For me entree, I had the Tortelloni di zucca alla salvia e mascarpone: Homemade tortelloni stuffed with pumpkin and ricotta cheese in a sage and mascarpone cheese sauce topped with toasted walnuts. I loved this. The filling and sauce were delicious. It was a perfect sized portion. Not too big, not too small. So good. For dessert, I had the Sorbetto Alle Bacche Di Bosco: Fresh homemade berry sorbet with prosecco (I held the prosecco). The sorbet was a huge portion - like 4 small scoops. Very tasty. Overall a great meal, food and service. I would go here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
8th anniversary and we came to celebrate. Such yummy found, great service and everyone was very attentive. What I love about this place is that I feel at home and it stays consistent.

Yelp
At 9:06 we came in with a group of 6 people and they said they are packed... yet there are still Yelp reservations open for a group of 5 at 9:15 and 9:30pm. So I can only assume this spot is racist and didn't want to take our group of 6.

Yelp
The food and ambiance is just amazing!!! Very authentic Italian food. Definitely a must go place!

Yelp
The desire to eat here was high, but so hard to get an immediate reservation -- and I had to cancel on 2 occasions. So don't wait until the day of, or expect to get walk-in seating. Hustling and bustling, busy-busy, and kind of loud. I wouldn't say the decor is amazing, but nice and clean. A small amount of tables outside, and I'm told -- super nice when nice weather. Now, just so you realize, it's northern Italian. You won't find lasagne, bolognese, or egg parm -- save that desire for another place. The bread was "okay": =================== Cold but fresh, sliced focaccia-like. Great was the olive spread is was served with. So...the gf and I elected for 2 pastas, and we loved them: =============================================== 1) Tortelloni alla Piemontese [$29.25, 4.5 stars] -- (as the menu describes...) Homemade tortelloni stuffed with roasted veal, spinach, and prosciutto in a porcini mushroom tomato sauce 2) Pappardelle alla San Pietro [$31.75, 4.0 stars] -- (as the menu describes...) Wide pasta ribbons with sautéed river shrimp, white wine, braised sweet onions and imported prosciutto finished with a light creamy tomato sauce Rating/conclusion: ================ Now, it gets a 4.0 stars. I love the server, and the food was definitely good. But, pricey and almost not worth the trip. It's in the rotation, but sparingly.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with fantastic Italian food. Good wine selection as well. Great service. We will be back.

Yelp
Nothing overly wrong with this place. Just wasnt that impressed. Food was ok. Not bad but not that great either. Olive tapenade needs salt as well as bread. Orchiette was ok. Good things -pricing and staff. Nice wine list.

Yelp
We were in Paso Robles for three nights and this was our favorite restaurant. The lamb ravioli and veal tortellini were outstanding. Cocktails were great as well. Place was busy. Would 100% come back.

Yelp
Our visit started off great but we left with much to be desired. On a Monday evening this restaurant is packed! Our server from our last winery tasting recommended this place to be authentic Italian and we could not get in the door sooner. Hostess was very nice and was able to squeeze us in with a full evening. We were given an hour and a half since our table was reserved for someone else. We were thankful. Our server was very nice and she recited the specials. We opted for 3 items off the specials without checking the price. The mushroom soup, veal, and seafood pasta. Bread and an olive tapenade spread was quickly served along with water. It was very flavorful. We love authentic Caesar Salads and were happy to see anchovies on them. Even my toddler slipped one off my plate and enjoyed the tiny fish. The minestrone soup and special soup with mushrooms were so tasty! I could've devoured an extra bowl. We were super excited for our main dishes. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay. The veal was very disappointing. It seemed to have been breaded but was very rubbery. It came with gnocchi and that was ok. It didn't seam to match perfectly as we were expecting vegetables or mashed potatoes with veal but it was ok. The seafood pasta was creamy. The seafood tasted fresh. The pasta itself didn't taste freshly made but it was ok. Ordered coffee and dessert. Kids behaved with the promise of chocolate and ice cream so our lava cake was the perfect ending. Coffee after a meal to me shouts "vacation" for some reason. As it means it's ok if I don't go to bed at a decent time as the next day will be in no rush. Our bill came out to about $200 for 3 cups of soup, salad, Chardonnay, veal, seafood pasta, lava cake, and coffee. Not too bad. But the veal being about $50 and not being good didn't sit well with us. We really wanted to love it but glad we got to try it. They really packed in the tables at this restaurant. It's very tight. Understandably so, they're very popular! The staff is friendly. I do see why they're a local favorite :). Just don't order the veal.
google avatar

Rudy D.

Yelp
Ordered the Fettuccine al surgo di carne miste. Very good. Also ordered the Linguine ai muscoli di mare e porri which was excellent! Service was fantastic! Able was great! Service was fantastic and drinks were top notch! Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Dinner on Sat eve. It was very busy & we had great service. 3 stars is based purely on the food. Bread is thin sourdough & underwhelming. Pette di pollo Asiago- chicken breast stuffed with Asiago cheese & prosciutto was a bit dry. Not much stuffing in it either. Papparadelle alla San Pietro- pasta with shrimp light cream sauce. The sauce was way too salty & shrimp overcooked. Orecchiette con rapine e luganega- nothing special. Insalade di Cezare- this is a Caesar salad & good.

Yelp
Saturday night, party of 4, 7:30 PM reservations booked via yelp...we had a great dinner.. This restaurant is located in a smaller building, so the tables are close to each other, and the noise level is lively. No issues with carrying conversation at your table though. The light colored walls and brown wood throughout the resto makes for a pleasant dining area. Our server sat us immediately upon arrival and our server introduced herself to us quickly and got us up to speed on the specials for the evening. The kitchen got our dishes to the table quickly. This was very impressive as the dining area was packed as well as the bar. Here's what I sampled. Bruschetta al pomodoro fresco e basilico - The tomatoes were diced up well and the garlic bread was on point. Good stuff Carpaccio del Tiziano' - The beef, arugula were fresh which made for a great start Tortelloni alla Piemontese - The homemade tortelloni stuffed with roasted veal, spinach, and prosciutto in a porcini mushroom tomato sauce. The sauce was savory and stuffed tortelloni was yum. I'd definitely order again. I would visit again when I'm in the Paso Robles area. Reservations are highly recommended as this place is very popular with locals and visitors. Cheers!

Yelp
Best meal of the whole trip! Had the penne with the spicy marinara, and my husband had the mozzarella stuffed ravioli with marinara. Both were delicious and we ate every bite. The complimentary bread with the olive paste was also very good. Service was quick and the prices are super reasonable. We spent about $50-$60. Must visit if you're craving amazing Italian food.

Yelp
Buona-Tavola is a true Italian ristorante that brought us back to our Italian forays in Florence and Venice. The service was attentive and the environment reminiscent of a quaint romantic establishment complete with a small outdoor patio. The food - beyond excellent (for 2): 1. Complimentary bread and olive tapenade. The bread - soft, pairs so well with the olive & mustard seed spread that just goes down so well. We...ate TWO servings. Aka 4 pieces each pile high with olive. Next time to prevent that stomach bloat, I'd advise 1-2 pieces per person. Though fair warning, you might be tempted to ingest more. 2. Seafood pasta - the just al-dente pasta covered with a dreamy garlic-cream sauce paired with perfectly cooked seafood from that tender shrimp to the juicy/soft scallops. So. Good. 3. Tortellini (pumpkin) - that incredibly thin pasta somehow allows for a wonderful bite into a flavorful explosion of pumpkin and nuts. All well paired with a beautiful cream sauce. Excellent proportion. 4. Cup of soup of the day - shrimp cream somewhat similar to a thinner consistency of clam chowder. Not bad but not my favorite. Overall incredibly worth it. Reso was made for a Sunday night but probably could've done a walk-in as well.

Yelp
Friday night and it was a full house! Our first time here, and needless to say, we came hungry! Arrived 5 mins prior to our 7:30p reservations (made via Yelp), welcomed by the friendly hostess, and were seated pronto (yay!). This adorable and cozy resto had a few tables outside and ample table seating inside! Our friendly server was prompt and explained the house specials, gave us time to explore the menu before taking our order (kudos to all the staff, who we observed working efficiently!). I started off with their Espresso Martini, which was overflowing and delicious (thank you, bartender!). The bread service came out with a side dish of olive tepanade, which was perfect! After reviewing the menu, I went with the Orecchiette con rapine e luganega, from their 'Primi Piatti' (First Course) section. As their menu says, "hat shaped pasta served with rapine brocolini, sun ripened tomatoes, grilled homemade Piemontese style pork sausage, garlic and a splash of tomato sauce." Absolutely delicious, and I would definitely order it again! Now on to dessert...tiramisu. I had high expectations and truly wanted to give it a rave review, but sadly for me, it was just "okay". Personally, I prefer a ratio of a bit more ladyfingers to marscapone cream, but the flavor was there nonetheless. I'll try their gelato or sorbetto next time for sure! All in all, we left there with grateful hearts and happy bellies! I can see why this place is where the locals go! Cheers and happy eating!

Yelp
Food is delicious. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Our recent order : risotto ai porcini, pappardelle alla San pietro, spaghetti Aglio olio, orecchiette con rapine and martini. Everything was very good like always. An excellent restaurant for a date night with your spouse or for a celebratory dinner.

Yelp
A fantastic dining experience with excellent service. Very lively environment. We had a large party of 11 so we were sat outside. Though it was cold, they had outdoor heaters which kept us warm. As for dinner, everyone enjoyed what they ordered. My wife ordered the risotto which was cooked perfectly this time. I ordered the seafood pasta which was excellent. The meat lasagna was good too. Beer, wine and mixed drinks were all good with a wide selection. Highly recommend if you are in the area. It does get crowded so it is best to make reservations.

Yelp
If you plan on coming here on a weekend, I would suggest you make a reservation. I did this and was seated right away. There's street parking and I think there's also a private parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. Upon walking in, I noticed how warm it was and I almost decided to leave because I can't enjoy my food when it's so warm inside. But, luckily, walking further in to the dining area, I felt the AC running, but it was still very warm inside. I am not sure if their AC was not working well or they didn't bring the temp down to a more comfortable setting. I should have said something to our server as I was sweating a little bit while eating. Definitely was not an ideal situation for sure. We ordered the mussels/clams and minestrone soup to start. Because we were not super hungry, we decided to split the rib eye. While waiting, they brought out bread and tapenade. I thought the tapenade was just ok. It didn't really stand out much. Definitely not like how Giuseppe's make theirs. The bread was pretty dense and was more like a focaccia that's been sliced up. I felt that this is a little too dense for my liking. The mussels/clams came out and it's served in a tomato broth. I thought it was just ok. The clams were super small and barely had any meat on it. The mussels were nice and plump. I thought the sauce was just ok. Didn't really blow my mind. But it was nice dipping the bread in it. The steak finally came out after about 20 minutes or so. It was nice of them to split the entree in half. That was a nice gesture. However, even though I asked for it to be medium rare, I found the stead to be a little tough. I don't think this was a prime cut, though, being charged $60 for it was definitely prime pricing. It was cooked in a Gorgonzola wine reduction sauce. I'm not a big fan of Gorgonzola, but I thought the sauce was pretty good. It was definitely needed to take down the steak. The accompaniments were just ok and a little bland. Overall, I would probably not come back here again as the food wasn't all that great and the prices were a little high. And not factoring in how warm it was inside, definitely did not make for a great dinner. I would recommend going to Il Cortile over this place.

Yelp
The positives: interior was very nice and well organized, the service was great, and we were seated quickly with our reservation. Areas of improvement: my wife ordered a Pinot Grigio, which was fine, but I ordered a martini that was extremely watered down. Wasn't the worst I've ever had but definitely needs improvement. My wife had a seafood linguine. That was very good while I went with the veal special that was below average for the price. The food was extremely bland and lacked flavor. I had to add salt and pepper, which is usually not a good sign when you're ordering from a high-end Italian restaurant. Will we go back? Maybe. We are willing to give it another chance. Maybe try something that's on the menu as opposed to a special.

Yelp
"HOME" "What's that restaurant?" I said out loud as we slowed the car to a minimal roll. I saw the twinkling lights wrapped around the tree as the final invitation to stop and eat - right now. As we approached the visually quaint restaurant, we entered what appeared to be THE Paso Robles meeting spot. It felt like this restaurant was designed for the locals. I would have suggested the lighting be dimmed to the point it mirrors the tenderness of their menu, but seeing familiar faces immediately reverted this suggestion. Is it just me, or does everyone get that kid-like excitement when they recognize someone in public? Upon scanning the dining area, I quickly felt the nature of Italian culture within this restaurant. It was busy yet coordinated. One could hear the conversations echoing throughout while still feeling the intimacy of their own table space. The elegance of proper service mixed in with personalization delivered a dynamic and upbeat experience. Any guest who dines with Buona Tavola should be prepared to visit again--to pick up where we left off. To experience Buona Tavola's environment and service is to experience their food within the same context. Together, they execute the entire composition of the dining experience with finesse and charisma. Their gnocchi dish has exquisite flavor, texture, and quality. You could almost imagine the employee rolling the flour, cutting each piece, and handing it to the cook to finish the ensemble, waiting for the food runner to deliver it to the correct table within its cooling trajectory. If you had the experience I am sharing, you'd imagine the team in the back cooking for you as if you came to visit their family. This is the best way I can communicate Buona Tavola's passion to feed hungry locals, and share a snippet of their culture with the Central Coast!

Yelp
I booked my husband and I with 2 of our favorite friends from North Carolina prior to a concert. We were promptly seated and our server was Lizza. She was great very helpful with dinners and of course desert. We all had different pasta and loved every bite including what we had to take home. My friend and I had a glass of Morellino di Scansano Reserve, would have loved to shared a bottle. Desert, cream di Vaniglia Della, with milk chocolate/carmel on top. Friends husband had a glass of Lemonccello and Torta di Merle Alla Pia. Cannot say enough about the delicious food. I would have preferred a table away from where the kitchen was, but it worked out OK. All the tables were book and the place is small and lovely.

Yelp
Delicious food every time we are here. Classic pasta dishes that taste like you traveled all the way to Italy. Rotating specials are always exciting. Definitely book in advance as they fill up dinner reservations fast.

Yelp
To start no table available only bar seating, make a reservation. We sat at the bar and Emmeni the bartender took care of us and sent us some bread and olive spread! Boom AMAZING! Appetizer Grilled bread and mushroom very nice. The Mrs had a shrimp pasta (picture in the review) delicious! I order the tortellini pumpkin (picture in the review) also very nice and flavorful, absolutely delicious. Onto the torta pie, what else can I say, GREAT! Every dish, was absolutely wonderful. First time in Paso Robles and although we tried different wineries, different restaurants, and enjoyed our experiences. This is the first place that I would say WE WILL REPEAT. Simply put great, the bartender Emmeni was awesome, handled orders coming in and still managed to answer all our questions and make great suggestions. Thank you Emmeni for your great service and welcoming personality.

Yelp
Food was outstanding! It was delivered piping hot and presented well. Cocktails were also good. Service was good considering it was a busy night. Servers were constantly running to kitchen to get orders for tables. If you sit near kitchen area it's busy. Cons: Even by LA standards prices are steep, for appetizers, salads I did notice several couples splitting entrees. Parking was somewhat difficult.

Yelp
Great place to visit for a good Italian meal. Great bread and olive spread. Lots of great food to choose from. The service here is outstanding. Make sure you make reservations. You will probably be turned away if you don't have reservations. Enjoy =)

Yelp
Strange. That about sums it up. I was in town for my 40th birthday and we decided to make a reservation and have dinner at Buona-Tavlola. From the minute we arrived, until the minute we left- it was just an odd experience. The staff weren't warm or friendly- and for our table and the one adjacent, the waitress really was just not friendly, warm or helpful- which we felt from some of the other staff. There was a girl bussing and help run food who always had a smile and was the most helpful of anyone we encountered. We had to ask for bread, but every other table was getting it, weird. The waitress really tried to rush us, and didn't tell us about any specials- though, she did to other tables. Our waitress was: Samantha M. The food, while good, was nothing out of this world for being the top rated in Paso. I'm a foodie, and most of our group was too- so maybe I just had unrealistic expectations. All in all, it's an OK place- but not a place to celebrate a birthday or special occasion. I probably wouldn't return if was in town again- and definitely would ask for someone else to wait on us if we did.

Yelp
Everything was great! Past is amazing, the service is astounding! The dessert was delicious! The meat and cheese plate was a bit disappointing. I will not order that again. Ate outside and I loved it!

Yelp
This place was highly recommended by Paso Robles locals, so we decided to try it for dinner on a Tuesday night. I called and made a reservation, and so glad I did because the restaurant was full. It's a quaint space, with maybe 15 tables total (for 2 and 4 people), 6-7 high chairs at the bar and 2-3 tables on the small outdoor patio. For appetizers we tried the charcuterie board, it only had a few pieces of salami and cheese, would probably not order again. We also had the Caesar salad, very good. As an entree we split the seafood linguine, very flavorful. We ordered a bottle of the Austin Hope Cabernet, excellent body and finish, complimented all our food wonderfully. Our server was great, and despite the restaurant being busy, we didn't feel rushed and enjoyed our dinner. Definitely recommend if you're looking for Italian food.

Yelp
Call made a reservation and they lost my reservation. They were adamant that I did not make a reservation, even though I have their phone number from when I called them.
