I am a long-time Burbank resident and have been coming to this mall (sporadically but sometimes more frequently) since they first built it in the mid-1990s! I was young then.
My mall history is centered around this place than any other mall.
What I like about this mall are: it's relatively less crowded, calmer, etc than noisier and bigger malls like the Glendale Galleria or the Westfield Topanga in the Woodland Hills area. Those malls are kind of exhausting, busy, and frustrating to park at. The Burbank mall parking is pretty easy, especially if you enter from San Fernando and park on the higher levels near Macy's.
What I don't like about this mall are: In the last year, with the Covid lockdown, I have been bored to tears so I have been casually visiting this mall more often since I live nearby and whenever I need a short little 'escape.' I have been a bit surprised at how much this mall has changed in the last few years.
All of the good stores seems to be gone, including NY & Company where I would go to buy "work" clothes (slacks and things like that). This might be due to COVID, with everyone working from home. I don't know. This has been replaced by Fashion Q, a fast-fashion and teenage brand.
What I don't like is that this mall has now become a teenage fashion mall, with H&M, Fashion Q, Forever 21 (which has always been there), and Fashion Nova. So, if you're over the age of 30 and don't want to buy small-sized, cheapy ripped jeans and t-shirts your only option is Macy's! That's about it for you.
In addition, with Sears (which appears to be on its last legs) and Burlington, it's become a discount mall sort of.
This mall is mainly the second floor, where all the main stores are. The first floor is the food court, plus some random stores. The third floor is pretty empty except for the movie theater and the beauty salon.
In addition, the food court is "hit or miss" and their prices seem to have gone up. I recently paid $16 for a small Poke bowl. It used to be on the third floor, but now it's on the first floor. It's mostly Asian food, a cheesesteak shop, and the classic mall Sbarro.
All-in-all, I wouldn't say this is the greatest mall in the area but it's okay if you live close by, need to escape for a little bit, and shop at the stores mentioned above.
