Almost everything is top quality. Excellent food, location, decoration. Wine selection and how they designed the menu with lots of Swiss ingredients. If you don’t have allergenic reactions to highly controlling, overpowering, slightly annoying female waitress (hope we came a cross with the wrong one) then you would really enjoy this restaurant.

Great views of the Rhein river from 200 meters up . Medieval castle with traditional restaurant. Well worth the visit.

Restaurant was closed when we visited but no matter - our main interest was not food but the castle itself and it was very interesting, particularly that due to closed restaurant almost no people where there. Premises are open to public free, including parking, and well preserved castle offers great experience to anybody who is interested in castles and history. Views from the tower top are also excellent.

What a phenomenal view over Stein am Rhein! On top in a historically well preserved place that doesn't have it alikes. Also the food and service very nice, so don't hesitate for a romantic or group diner if you're into a special experience.

Can highly recommend a walk to this lovely castle. There are 2 options getting to the castle, one steep but shorter and the other slightly longer but not as steep initially. Gorgeous views of Stein am Rhein. There is a great little restaurant at the top of the castle. Toilets are there too. Definitely a must see if you go to canton Schaffhausen. Accessing Stein am Rhein from Schaffhausen Main Train station is easy to access via a 30 minute train ride , you can also access Stein am Rhein via boat through various cruise companies (I would suggest to look online for timetables). Truly is a perfect day out for some great walking activity , fresh air and stunning views and scenery.
