Burg-Hotel

I’m writing this review a year after staying at this amazing hotel. My husband and I still talk about this place. Otto left a memorable impression on us. He was so kind to us, we showed up one night with takeout and he took us up to the kitchen to get utensils and plates. The room we stayed in was beautiful and homey. The real key instead of a plastic card was such a charming touch. When we come back to Germany we will absolutely stay here again.

Had a wonderful 3 day visit here. Otto the owner’s father is the front desk staff and an absolutely wonderful older gentleman!!! He was delightful to talk to and very helpful. We had room #1 and it was fantastic - very large for European hotels that opened into a garden that is right on the wall. The hotel across the street is owned by same person and a must stop for a glass of wine or beer. We loved our stay and highly recommend for a visit to Rothenburg. Oh and they have a parking garage for right next to hotel!

We loved our stay at the charming Burg Hotel. It is conveniently located close to all the sights of Rothenburg, yet it is peacefully quiet. We had a beautiful view over the city walls to the green valley and hills. The breakfast room is lovely and the food is delicious. You can ask for scrambled or fried eggs, and then help yourself to everything else. The gentleman at the front desk was always very helpful when we had questions. The room was spacious and well-appointed. We spent 12 nights traveling around Germany and this was by far our favorite place to stay.

This is the most stunning hotel, absolutely beautiful. The owner is the kindest gentleman and very helpful. Breakfast buffet is amazing, great coffee!! Locations, location, location! We loved exploring Rothenburg. We stayed in room #1 on ground floor, it's huge and has a back door leading to a quiet courtyard. The bed and pillows were a little rough (creaky bed, lumpy pillow), but other than that - it's amazing!!

This is a charming hotel located along the city walls in a quiet location in Rothenburg. We were able to walk everywhere in this historic town while staying out of the main busy tourist area. Our double room was large, well-appointed and comfortable. The highlight of our stay were our interactions with the proprietor who was very humourous as well as helpful.

The kindest, most thorough gentleman welcomed us and made us feel at home in this charming stone and fine wood and well crafted hotel. The 2 room suite was spacious, the shower, windows, doors, drapes, and bed were all high quality. The breakfast was excellent and the view to the gardens and pastoral valley amazing.

This was a lovely hotel, walking distance to everything in Rothenburg. It was quaint but modern, breakfast was delicious and Otto, our host, is a treasure trove of history. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him and hearing his stories. If we get back to Rothenburg we will definitely stay here again.

It's one of the best experience we had ever! The interior is classic, the 86 years old reception is actually the owner's dad, he's very kind, helpful and gentel, it's just feels like coming home. The location is great. It's just next to the city wall so the view is enjoyable. Still, it's only like a 5 min walk to the city center. Will definitely recommend!

What a wonderful stay we had at this charming family-run hotel! The owner was gracious and very helpful. Our 'room' was really a large one bedroom apartment with a beautiful terrace overlooking a magnificent valley. The breakfasts were ample and delicious. The location was perfect for exploring magnificent Rothenberg ob der Tauber.

Outstanding property! Built into the old town wall it has old world ambiance combined with gracious and helpful hosts. Family owned and operated, care is taken to see to the needs of the guests, Conveniently located just minutes from the historic center. We travel to Germany regularly and will be repeat guests.

This place is heaven on earth. We had the apartment to the left over the front door. The hotel is the best of old and new. The view over the valley was incredible. The beds were so comfortable. The bathtub was marvelous. Everything was perfect. The only thing that can improve this hotel for us is if the woman at reception could speak some English, and if the breakfast was slightly better, perhaps with eggs made to order and good fruit salad, and a larger dining room. But it was fantastic! The location is perfect for exploring Rothenburg as well as having the rural view. So peaceful and pleasant. I will return in my dreams.
