"Burg-Hotel—another impossibly pretty place in a monastery garden, with views upstairs of the Tauber Valley."

This was a one of a kind family owned hotel ran by the owner and his daughter. It is 800 years old and so well maintained with each room individually decorated and with spectacular views. The breakfast was very tasty & each night we were serenaded by the owner on his piano when we would return from the Christmas market which was all in walking distance. They highly recommended walking up on the city walls that fortified the entire city for the history and views and we were so glad that we did. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home & wish we had had more time.

What a gorgeous hotel, great sized rooms and ideal location for all the things this little town has to offer. However, the real magic of this place is the chap who runs it. Otto is such a sweet man who has worked here for many years. He works so incredibly hard and it’s clear that he loves this place with all his heart. Each morning he would come round greeting every table at breakfast and he would still be there when we came in last thing at night to say goodnight to us. We had a wonderful visit seeing the Christmas Market and I would highly recommend staying here.

Stayed here because it was recommended by a friend and had great reviews. It did not disappoint!! The hotel is tucked away but very close to the Main Street and is actually built on part of a section of the medieval wall. The atmosphere is fantastic, the rooms are spacious and super comfortable, the views from the breakfast room are divine, and we felt very taken care of by the owner and her father Otto! Would totally stay here again!

This was the most magical, wonderful hotel ever. Dating back to 1142, this place is full of charm and history. Sweet Otto runs the place with his daughter, who owns it. Just book it- it’s incredible. 11/10. I’m not sure what the room was called, but we had the whole front house basically- it was 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room, and a terrace with a stunning view of the valley. And for such a great price. Book directly through hotel- it saves you a little money. I only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the spa and game rooms. Thank you Otto for sharing the story of this amazing hotel with us.

This enchanting hotel was located on a quiet street along the wall that surrounds this beautiful town. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcomed. Rooms were all unique, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was served in a room with a lovely view! The only issue was parking. The hotel has garages to park your car but the street and parking spaces are tight so it takes a skilled driver to successfully park. If one isn’t skilled, Otto will be glad to help direct the way.

Magical! We stayed in room #1 which lead out to a garden. Although its shared we had it all to ourselves to sit in outside and enjoy the sunshine. The hotel has an exceptional location away from the busy tourist scene, built into the medival wall. The cellar is from 1142! The staff were super - especially Otto, the owner's father, who is a pleasure to chat with. Breakfast is stunning overlooking the valley. Couldn't ask for more!

Very charming historical hotel integrated in the old fortifications of the old town. Warmly welcomed and shown around by one of the old school hotel managers. Great view across the valley of the Tauber. Spacious suite with a very new and well equipped bathroom and a balcony. Around two corners and one is in the center of the medieval town.

This is a perfect and fantastic hotel. Great location and beautiful hotel right along the wall of the city. Easy walking to anyplace in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Views from the hotel were beautiful.||Easy parking on site. Great breakfast. Nice rooms with large bathrooms. The staff were friendly, attentive and lovely.||Everyone in the family said this was their favorite hotel. That included people in their 60s, 20s, and teen years.

Yelp
What a wonderful stay we had at this charming family-run hotel! The owner was gracious and very helpful. Our 'room' was really a large one bedroom apartment with a beautiful terrace overlooking a magnificent valley. The breakfasts were ample and delicious. The location was perfect for exploring magnificent Rothenberg ob der Tauber.

Yelp
Outstanding property! Built into the old town wall it has old world ambiance combined with gracious and helpful hosts. Family owned and operated, care is taken to see to the needs of the guests, Conveniently located just minutes from the historic center. We travel to Germany regularly and will be repeat guests.

Yelp
This place is heaven on earth. We had the apartment to the left over the front door. The hotel is the best of old and new. The view over the valley was incredible. The beds were so comfortable. The bathtub was marvelous. Everything was perfect. The only thing that can improve this hotel for us is if the woman at reception could speak some English, and if the breakfast was slightly better, perhaps with eggs made to order and good fruit salad, and a larger dining room. But it was fantastic! The location is perfect for exploring Rothenburg as well as having the rural view. So peaceful and pleasant. I will return in my dreams.
