This is my husband’s and my 3rd time staying here, the first time with our family. It is a wonderful hotel for accommodations, location built into the wall, and the innkeeper and his daughter were must helpful before and during our stay. |The location is great! It is walking distance to everything and the valley view is amazing. Don’t miss the sunset from the terrace.

What a beautiful hotel! All of the staff are so lovely and accommodating. The included breakfast is a great touch, and really made for a great start to our day. The rooms were ornately decorated and felt like transporting back in time- just the room made me want to add a few days onto my stay! Would 100% recommend staying here if you have the chance.

This hotel is outstanding! We were greeted by Otto, 86, the owner, our elegant & distinguished host. He says that “he has the best job in the planet!” Our large room on the 3rd floor had exquisite views of the valley & beautiful touches, like starlights on the ceiling above our bed. The breakfast was the best we had in Germany. Best hotel ever-we hope to return!

We dream of coming back to this outstanding, dreamy hotel. The rooms are charming, the breakfast is fabulous, the flowers and gardens lovely. The 86 yr old proprietor, Otto, is a gem and a wealth of wonderful stories. This is traveling at its best, the kind of hotel that ranks as a highlight of your trip.

This was a one of a kind family owned hotel ran by the owner and his daughter. It is 800 years old and so well maintained with each room individually decorated and with spectacular views. The breakfast was very tasty & each night we were serenaded by the owner on his piano when we would return from the Christmas market which was all in walking distance. They highly recommended walking up on the city walls that fortified the entire city for the history and views and we were so glad that we did. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home & wish we had had more time.

Incredible experience! The hotel is located inside the Rotenburg walls and you can actually walk down from the lobby into a portion of the walls. Rooms are big and well appointed. Breakfast was good as well - cooked to order eggs. Parking can be a challenge in the city, but the hotel has a garage very close that can be used. I can’t say enough about Otto, the innkeeper. He is a gem with his kindness and his information on the history of the city and hotel. I would definitely visit again.

This is a perfect hotel. It hasn’t changed in my 30-odd years of staying here, the same furniture, the same views, the same breakfast and, most importantly,the same host in Herr Berger. He is 85 years old now but still puts in a 16 hour day, immaculately dressed and perfectly charming! It is in a wonderful location next to the town walls and overlooking the river valley and cloister gardens and near to the town museum- which is fascinating- and the town church,which is very impressive! Internet is free and good. Please don’t stay here and then complain it isn’t a modern, slick establishment. It isn’t. There is no lift, no air conditioning , few satellite channels and the bathrooms ( although immaculate ) are a little old fashioned. But it is warm and friendly, charming and picturesque and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Charming place. Otto who greeted us was kind & helpful. Our bedroom was lovely and the beds are comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful stay we had at this charming family-run hotel! The owner was gracious and very helpful. Our 'room' was really a large one bedroom apartment with a beautiful terrace overlooking a magnificent valley. The breakfasts were ample and delicious. The location was perfect for exploring magnificent Rothenberg ob der Tauber.

Outstanding property! Built into the old town wall it has old world ambiance combined with gracious and helpful hosts. Family owned and operated, care is taken to see to the needs of the guests, Conveniently located just minutes from the historic center. We travel to Germany regularly and will be repeat guests.

This place is heaven on earth. We had the apartment to the left over the front door. The hotel is the best of old and new. The view over the valley was incredible. The beds were so comfortable. The bathtub was marvelous. Everything was perfect. The only thing that can improve this hotel for us is if the woman at reception could speak some English, and if the breakfast was slightly better, perhaps with eggs made to order and good fruit salad, and a larger dining room. But it was fantastic! The location is perfect for exploring Rothenburg as well as having the rural view. So peaceful and pleasant. I will return in my dreams.
