Burgaw Brewing

I’ve been wanting to try Burgaw Brewery since they opened…finally made it. I was not disappointed!! I enjoyed every aspect of this place. Burger was excellent and the Philly cheesesteak was amazing!! The chili and tater kegs are great starters!! Of course they have great beer as well, it is a brewery after all. Haha. The wife and I will be returning to try brunch next time.

I had read so many good reviews about this place, so I decided to stop in for lunch when I was in town. Overall, my food was just ok. I started off with the Loaded Tater Kegs and they were pretty good and quite filling. For my meal, I ordered the Brewster Smash Burger. Very disappointed as there was no flavor in the beef patty. They skimped on the Garlic Aioli and Beer Cheese on the burger. The sautéed onions and mushrooms added nothing to the burger. They had no flavor, so I forgot they were even on there. The service was really good and the pricing was ok, but the food didn’t come close to meeting the hype for this place. Not sure I’ll return.

Food is very good and service was excellent. Waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped myself and my husband chose the most popular selections. Comfortable atmosphere, highly recommend this brewery. He had the fish and chips and I had the wings with house BBQ sauce . And the chili cheese fries are wonderful 😋

Food so good we forgot to take a picture. The cheese curds were crave-worthy, the burger was spot-on, and the grilled chicken sandwich did not disappoint. Cocktails were just as impressive and perfectly balanced. Easy 5/5 stars, will absolutely be back 🍔🍸

I had the house salad with grilled chicken. The salad was fresh and the mix was well balanced. The chicken was incredible, the marinade they use and seasoning is perfect. For a side I have a brussel sprouts, they were crispy, well seasoned, and overall really enjoyable. The staff was quick, proficient and professional, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate.

Where to begin?! Burgaw Brewing has been a favorite of mine ever since they opened. I think I have tried just about everything on their menu, and it is all fantastic. One of my favorite go-to is the Caesar salad with blackened chicken, and the squeaky wheels IPA. I recently was able to stop in for their Brunch, and man-oh-man. I need the brunch menu everyday. The atmosphere is extremely family friendly, and makes me feel I’m at a place with friends/family. This spot has been a beautiful addition to the Burgaw community. I wish all the success and growth to BB.

Our first time here and we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, great food and cold drinks. The loaded tater tots were amazing, the Burgaw smash burger was delicious, make it a double. My wife had the BLT, it was so big she only ate half of it. If you haven’t been to Burgaw Brewing go today, you will not regret it.

The bartender told me after I received burnt onion straws on top of my jam burger and my significant others that was the best they could do. So no give a care in the kitchen to smash a bun on top of burnt onion straws. After I heard her asking BOH if they had changed the grease today. I’m a restaurant manager. This was my first experience here and by far I will not be returning. Lack luster service. No care. No list of wines and apparently the wine changes every week. Also probably decrease the liquid smoke in the bacon jam and actually add more actual bacon. Bottom right corner of photo hair on top of cheese.

the employees are so kind and generous very cozy and nice atmosphere the food is amazing definitely recommend going here and to the antique store next door !!!

Burgaw Brewery - 4 out of 5 stars I want to start out by saying this is a great addition to the town of Burgaw, and I've already gone back a few times. I have noticed some changes in the menu, especially with the tater tots--they used to be phenomenal, but the new recipe feels like a downgrade. With that being said, most of the food is still very solid. The burgers are consistently good, the Philly cheesesteak hits the spot, and the salads are fresh. Service has always been friendly and reliable, which makes the experience even better. I do think the prices are a little on the higher side, but considering there isn't much else around, this place has become a real hotspot for the area. Overall, Burgaw Brewery is a good spot to grab a meal and a drink--you'll leave satisfied, even if not blown away. The fact that I've returned multiple times speaks for itself.

Arrived at just after 11 and we were NOT the first folks here. Love the "town square" and small town feel. Friendly smiling hostess and Erin as our server, we knew we were headed for a good time. Saturday brunch specials, many to choose. Starting with a flight of beer and the mimosa flight was a great way to start. Then for lunch proper, fish and chips for him and a chicken sandwich for me. Both were breaded just enough to say crispy, but definitely not over the top. Blueberry jalapeno wing sauce on the side for my sandwich was a nice change. Would love to come back many times.

We were in town for a market and decided to drop by give this brewery a try. The staff was very nice and helpful giving us ideas on what to get. We decided to sit in outdoor area where they have lots of picnic tables and umbrellas for shade. We came during week so it wasn't very busy and I was fine with that. They have their beers they brew, ciders and other things including a bull bar with adult drink menu! They also had pretty nice lunch and dinner menu with something for everyone. It was past lunch not quite dinner so we just wanted something small I got garlic cheese curds hubby got cup of short rib chili.. both were real good I got pender county blueberry sour it was very nice! .. I would definitely come back for a meal and a beer!

Driving back from the beach we hit Yelp to see what was around us outside places with a drivethru. Found this place and what a hit. We sat at the bar due to a wait for a table and the bartender was friendly but she was not a good resource for recommendations. She stated she doesn't eat meat and we asked about the biscuits she had never tried them either. Either she didn't because of meat in the gravy or they don't have their staff sample the food which they should. After looking at the menu it was a tough choice on what to have since everything sounded so good. I ended up with a smash burger and it was amazing. The wife had the fried chicken sandwich which she said was good but the chicken was a tad overcooked. It would be amazing if they had fresh cut fries but I'm a fry snob. If you are a bourbon drinker they have an amazing collection and prices weren't crazy. So if you're in the area it's well worth a visit.

We've been here several times and are consistently underwhelmed. We keep trying because we want to support local and really the options in this area are so limited. But, the upcharge for the veggie patty is very steep and there are no vegan options. Others in our party got fish and chips and previously it was a huge portion but today it was like half the size. Even the fries with my burger were a small portion (and were barely warm and not crispy at all) and the patty was so smashed it was paper thin. I wasn't even sure there was a patty on the bun initially! We have one more 30offlocal voucher to use so we will try brunch and see if that's any better than dinner.

This place is a nice little hole in the wall. The vibe is upbeat and gives a calm home town vibe. I bet it's packed on weekends. They have inside and outside seating and awesome staff. Everyone including the bartender was overly helpful and kind. I got the BLT and son got the philly. Both were good picks. They like mustard in most of the sauces and some may or may not like that. The fries were tastey, little unexpected by how they look but were actually good. We got some cheese curds too, yummy! The ranch SLAPS! I have visited Minnesota so the comparison was more broad for me. The breading wasn't to my liking but my son would have ate the bowl they came in if he could. If you're passing through or just looking for a relaxing spot, you will find it here!

Stumbled upon this place while searching for a lunch spot en route to a wedding. It's in the cutest downtown area near Wilmington, NC. Really neat place...it wasn't crowded but we were there at an odd time-around 2:30 for lunch. Service was friendly and prompt. Clean, trendy atmosphere. They had a really cool outdoor area that I am sure is a fun place to be when it's a touch warmer. Both my husband and I ordered the Jam Burger with fries, but I subbed Swiss cheese for the pimento cheese. Oh my goodness! What a great burger!! The fries were decent but could have been hotter and they were really salty! I still ate them all. Hubby got the Bird Song Amber Ale and really enjoyed that with his meal. I stuck with some white wine...I'm not a beer girl. Overall an awesome experience and I would highly recommend stopping in for a bite if you're near Wilmington.

I liked this spot! Felt like a cool hip restaurant for the city. The food was good, the drinks were flavorful. We were there the day of the blueberry festival so they had a special blueberry mule we all enjoyed. I can't remember everything we ordered, but I'll definitely go back next time I visit the fam!

Came in on a whim for some drinks and appetizers and we were beyond satisfied. The wings were fantastic (crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside) and the tater kegs were full of flavor! Super glad we stopped in :)

Amazing atmosphere, people, and food. Great addition to the small town of Burgaw. Servers were very nice and got food out fast!

Food was really good, especially the appetizers, and definitely worth returning for. Beer was not worth returning for, which was disappointing for a place calling themselves a brewery. Only 6 beers, and not one of them was good. I did appreciate the $5 mimosas, Bloody Marys, and draft beers for Sundays though. Service was average, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is laid back. I liked the location and set up of the actual establishment. The

I don't even know where to start. The waitress failed at her duties. The food was cold and the beer was warm. Aside from it being cold the food was mediocre at best. For a $70 bill I would much rather visit elsewhere. Watched my beer get poured and sit on the bar for 8 minutes before being dropped to my table. They weren't busy, we visited for lunch on a week day.

We go every week for bingo with some neighbors, and can't recommend Burgaw Brewing enough. They're friendly and inclusive, celebrating Burgaw and all of its residents as well as other small businesses in the area. The food is reliably good, though I hate to see how prices have gone up a bit since they opened. Hands down, though, this is the kind of place and small business ownership that Burgaw needs more of.

We waited an hour and 10 minutes for our food. They were understaffed in the kitchen. The manager did not come to talk with us wouldn't even look in our direction. My Reuben was horrible. Hardly and meat and it looked old and tasted burnt. The Philly cheesesteak was too salty and had that fake cheese in it. The waitstaff was goofing around. We will not go back.

Tuesday 1230 asked hostess about the new Boss burger? What's on it? She didn't know went to kitchen to ? Brought waitress bk who had written n her pad Read ingredients! I said I'd like that Burger n French Fries to g? waitress tells hostess to charge me for the FFs not included! Walked to bar to sit n wait, no bartender lots of people at bar? Gal comes on my Rt R U just waiting for a to go? No, I was going to order a drink Togo!0rdered Virgin Bloody Mary. She brought n Glass? Asked for to go cup! Came bk w my cup n poured my drink into it, I asked for salt n pepper complimented her on drink but I like more! She never comes bk, I'm looking around for salt/pepper on tables? NONE?? Saw bags delivered to hostess desk she's off busing tables, I walked over looked at ist bag, she comes over says is one yours ? Said I only saw name on ist one! 2nd was mine, she asked if I needed Napkins or Catsup? Said don't need Catsup! No napkins given! Off to friends Hse, opened bag n sm box of FFs, lg box burger & FF? Got Boss burger out on box w Spatula, cut into 4 quarters n placed on plates w FFs! Opened mine to add salt n pepper n realized NO FRIED GREEN TOMATO?? Only 2 slivers of red onion((recipe read whole slice of red onion)? The gals looked at there's no Green tomato! The arrangement was Bun, lettuce, burger, pimento cheese which was good but not home made, burger, bacon n bun!! Pkd all bk up n bk to Brewery! Walked n hostess says something wrong? Said I'd like to see mgr, waitress that came to help u n I'll be at that dirty table! The 3 came took them thru my bag n ? FFs Et Al!! Mgr was my bartendress, she offered me a new sandwich Or full refund? Took them thru my refund! Asked " why r there no Salt or Pepper in any tables?? Gal says " Owner's Don't allow as it looks Low Class?? Said I've been n Service Industry my whole life & I've never been anywhere wo S&P on tables!! The time that u gals spend FETCHING S&P is waisted & u could be serving dinner plates, selling drinks, Et Al!! GTP? Last wk I tried the New Fluff burger/marshmallow cream on that one=YUCK! They had a contest in FB pros mailed n recipes, they chose 6-8 n feature One e wk w plan to put winners on Menus! Can't wait for next wk n see how that burger is??

Stopped in for Lunch while working in the area. Service was great but food was awesome. Price was higher than what I usually like to pay for lunch but absolutely worth it. Will definitely be back

We have waited a couple weeks to visit. Being new and just opening. I am glad we did. The wait was not long. The head cook came out and talked to us about what was GF They don't have a fryer dedicated to GF They have a GF bun Tots are amazing -GF Pirogues sadly are not GF Wings - sadly not GF Let me tell you about this Cesar dressing I had. Holy shoot, it was AMAZING. We used it for everything. I had a something or other with apple slaw. Iwas okay. Little dry. I would try it again Son had chicken steak. He said it was okay Hubby had pork loin sandwich. Good god it was amazing! So juicy and delicious. Kid got a kid hamburger and it looked like a normal adult burger! Fries were so good. Drinks were great!

Every time I come here we are met with great service, drinks, and food! My favorite is the brewser burger! Paired with their 103 lager? *chefs kiss* Highly recommend to anyone local or just passing through!

Ruben and drinks are good. Service is always great from bartenders. The place is clean.

This is a fun place and also a large one! Bring your family and friends because there's room for everyone! The food was tasty and the service was really great! They didn't have their own beer on tap yet, so we'll be back once that happens.

A couple of complaints. 1. bathroom has strong smell of just pure pee. 2. food could definetly come out faster. I waited 25 minutes for tenders and fries when the tenders only take 10-12 min. also the first batch of tenders were chewy and tough. I will say most waitresses were high energy and were great to talk with. It's definetly not my top 5 but there is potential in this resturaunt if they fix a few things.

Had a great time my first time visiting. Incredible atmosphere, and I loved the food and the drinks. For a born and raised Carolinian, you just can't beat the NC inspired menu like their Cheerwine flavored wings, and Cheerwine beer! Also absolutely love the unique and delicious tater tots that are like none I've ever tried. Such an awesome and needed addition to Burgaw.

After driving up I-40 to pick up a flat of blueberries, I stopped for a late lunch at Burgaw Brewing, and though it's a bit of a drive for me, I WILL be heading back! Just to eat there again! It's a wonderful space, roomy, well lit and with a well stocked bar. I ordered the Ivanhoe Blueberry Mule. It was so good!!! Made with fresh Ivanhoe Blueberries (the very berries I had driven up there to get) and was smooth, flavorful and refreshing!! I had the Pirogues as an appetizer. (Simply because so few restaurants in the south ever offer them.) They were delicious and cooked to perfection! Their Short Rib Chili was outstanding. A welcome departure from the usual diner type chili... It was thick, just the right amount of spicy and the short rib meat pushed this dish to the top of my favorite chili list! But, their Buffalo Chicken Wings! WOW!! Everything I had was superlative, but the Chicken Wings... I could wax poetic. Fried to the ultimate crispiness, smoky and hot... And they have a great selection of sauces. I was able to sample several, and I decided on the Cheerwine BBQ. It was an excellent choice. The servers were all incredibly helpful and friendly. When I asked questions about the fare and if they didn't know the answer, they quickly found out. As I said, I was able to sample as many of the sauces as I wanted, and the service was swift and always served with a smile. You have GOT to go Burgaw Brewing. I'll see you there!

The food was perfect. The service was fast and the atmosphere was very nice. It was nice to see all the brewing stands and the bar was nice. Would recommend

Upscale dining putting Burgaw on the map. Highly recommend the wings, Carolina gold, not spicy yet little honey flavor. (Crafted perfectly for those shy of true heat.) Sweet and wonderful. The craft beer selection is carefully considered with actual local brewery selections. It's the details a growing area needs. Burger sticks are not toothpicks but real creative bamboo style experienced by Michelin star establishments. We had the quiet pleasure of being served by the owner herself and she tended to our needs as if we were close friends all evening. (She is unaware we knew who she was.) Hearing this establishment was coming has been exciting for some time, however the experience itself was undersold even with the buzz of a quality location to relax and enjoy an evening with family. The location has its own beer garden and quality unique beer selection outside everything our neighbor city Wilmington has to offer. Brewery feel with architectural elements exposed comparable to copper penny as an actual brewery location. Currently it appears soft opening with limited food selection favoring quality of each dish. The burger sauce required no additional ketchup condiments and quickly enjoyed wanting more. Highly recommend this as a go to stop for anyone craving adventure in the region. Finally a place our Wilmington friends can enjoy as they venture up on a Sunday, finding the blueberry festival closed. (Something we did for three years running, hoping for a place like Burgaw brewing.) They have earned my rare 5 star for exceptional quality. Also, in choosing to open and create the space for others to follow. Ensuring top quality food and environmental experience we come to expect from large city locations. A highlight is knowing this is supporting our local entrepreneurs who clearly demand the best of themselves for their own community. Will become regulars here feeling little need to travel far for the best dining experience we crave. Thank you Burgaw for your support making this more then we expected and thank the owners for their dedication and attention to detail of every aspect! A reason to dress up and josh our community for a relaxing time together!

Went back last week and once again wonderful food very delicious! Husband had the Burgaw Burger I had the smoked chicken Philly both very delicious. It is a very comfortable place to eat very relaxing. The staff is great very friendly and attentive. I love the ambiance of this restaurant very nice will be going back again!!!

This place is phenomenal, if you're heading to the beach, it's about a 5 to 10 minute detour off the highway. It's totally worth it, they restored an old building in downtown Burgaw. The food was great, the atmosphere was awesome and the staff was very attentive... will definitely be back

Unfortunately my favorite spot in town is starting to collapse from within. Anyplace can have a bad night, but unless they turn it around I fear the end is near. Last night we waited over an hour for sub par food and that's with very few customers. They seem to always be out of the special which can happen but happens too often here. I'm gonna give it another few try's before changing but with higher prices, so so food and slow service really not sure it's gonna work.

Waited 40 min for a burger and Philly steak. The food itself was okay - it was hot and tasted good. The poor service by wait staff and long wait for the food over shadowed the food. We hadn't been in a year and thought we would see if things were better, but they were not. I wouldn't recommend it.

Edited on bottom: Visit quite regularly as this is one of the few places for lunch in Burgaw with work colleagues. A member of our group always orders from the children's menu (due to dietary restrictions), however she still pays full price for her drink and tips generously. The waitress was very polite and said it was not allowed, so we requested to speak to the manager to explain the situation and that we've visited many times without an issue. The manager refused to accommodate and was extremely rude. She rolled her eyes, and did not even try to make amends for this or understand our situation. While I respect the rule, there are always exceptions to the rule (as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for years). Truly disappointed and disgusted by the manager's attitude and body language. We will not be back again. (And we purchase regularly to-go orders for our office as well). After posting this review, the manager approached our table and said that we didn't make it clear why one of our party requested a child meal, we explained to her again why, and she was combative and loud. I asked her to please end the conversation as it wasn't going anywhere. She continued to argue with us in front of other customers. It was embarrassing and extremely rude. At no point did she try to rectify the situation. She was more concerned with a google review. We found out after paying that she is actually the owner.

Date night with my wife. We had the garlic cheese curd Appetizer, it was great. I had the chicken and Waffles . The chicken was juicy and tender and the whole dish was awesome.

Everything was great - wings, burgers, beers. The Carolina reaper sauce was perfectly hot. We were just passing through on our way to the beach, but I would make a point to stop here again.

don't get the sweet potato crisps-- not tasty and a cost ripoff. the Earth Burger was good and service was excellent.

Had dinner there on Saturday the 28th of October. They had decorated and were doing halloween activities. Started with nachos which was enough to share for 6 people and then got the pulled pork sandwich. Both were really good. The nachos app was huge! Highly also suggest the 103 beer.

I had lunch there this past Sunday. I have given this place a fair shake (my 5th or 6th time there over the past year). Nice place.....the food however is simply bad....just bad. They really need new management in the kitchen. It has been consistently bad.

Atmosphere was great, very stylish. I've been here twice for dine in and once for a to go pick up. Two of the three times I have ordered the Cesar salad with broiled haddock. It was very good both times. My only complaint is that the wait for our food took quite a while both times even though the restaurant was not extremely busy. However, when I went for the pick up order it was ready and the fish was still hot upon my arrival. Overall I would recommend.

We visit this place at least once every two weeks. The food is absolutely delicious. I have never gotten anything here that wasn't top notch. The service is amazing. Every one is so nice and attentive. I have to give a shoutout to our server Julian or Julie. She is such a beautiful young woman and every time she comes to your table she always has a smile

Great food and great service. We decided to check it out for dinner last night and had a great experience. We shared the garlic cheese curds starter, and then we also shared a Brewers Burger. Both were delicious and we will definitely be back to try something new. The restaurant portion and the patio were cute and the decor was nice. We were given our bill inside an old library book, and I thought that was a cute touch, as well (English major here). If you're in the area give them a try!

My family and I went on a Sunday around 1 pm. They opened about a week and half ago. We got burgers, fries and a chicken sandwich. All of that was good. They were out of tater tots, chicken tenders and Dr. Pepper. They didn't have any of their own beer, said it would be ready in about 2 weeks. Service was great and the restaurant was nice inside.

I went here with with my wife and two kids and my sister and her daughter. The ambiance was good ,we looked over the menu and grabbed some apps . We ordered the nachos , wings and we asked if we could get just chips and cheese for the kids . We got some local beers and also put our order in.Then we sat there hangin out and I finished me beer 20 minutes later still no waitress . Finally the apps came out and they we good especially the wings I asked the waitress can I get two beers(because it took 20 minutes to check on us) she rolled her eyes and said she couldn't do that so once I finished my drink waited another 15 until I could get another drink. Food came out and it was good all around Then the fun part we went to cash out and the waitress decided to charge us 13.00 for the chips and cheese the same as the loaded nachos. We asked to speak to a manager she said she was the manager and there was nothing she could do.then when my wife and my sister cashed out on her handheld she huffed and puffed because they only left her 10 percent tips because the service was garbage. Ohh by the way my wife and I have been in the hospitality business for 26 years me a chef and her weddings/events and front of the house management. I wanted this place to be a home run /new favorite place but I will not be back and anybody asks steer far away . The food is great /atmosphere great /service the worst I've ever seen By the way the servers name was EVA P.

Food was fine. Service was fine. We couldn't get over the server eating her lunch at the heating lamp where everyone's meals were being set. She ate for ten minutes - pickles, French fries, etc. Luckily, she was done eating before our fish and chips got set up there. It seemed super unsanitary.

Wonderful environment, friendly staff, local food and drink available. Pricing is a little high for amount of food in my opinion, but since this is a local non-chain restaurant, I will happily pay a little more.

Limited - but good - menu. Nice selection of beers, including their own brewed on site. Quick, friendly service. Nice place when you don't want to cook. Looking forward to their in-house beers. Recommended.

Stopped in for lunch. Chelsea the bartender was very friendly and attentive although they were relatively busy. My fried cheese curds and house salad w/blueberry vinaigrette were both delicious and came out within 5 minutes!

Pierogies were delicious and one of the best fish and chips. And tasty brew and cocktails.
