We tried another meal at B&L and were pleasantly surprised. The food was served quickly and looked beautiful. We ordered oysters & coconut shrimp to start, the flavours were bold, interesting and very tasty. We shared a big boy lobster roll and which was hearty, rich and delicious! To end we had heard good things about the cheesecake so gave that a bash which did not disappoint. Noah our waiter was super friendly and attentive! If you can, I would suggest going during their happy hour and booking a table outside to watch the sunset and the city slow down with some bar bites before a main meal!

We went for the burger special which was nice. Good bang for your buck, although the burgers are not outstanding. Good but not mouthwatering good. Generally the restaurant is on the pricier side. Not 100% convinced of the price to value ratio for that matter. Tried the lobster burger before, but that was at a time when it was still affordable. Back then it tasted good but generally I felt like it’s not really matching the price. Atmosphere inside is very dark. Feels a bit like in a dungeon, some more lighting could do the job. Our waiter, Tory, was really good. Friendly, attentive and jovial.

Visited in January 2025. South Africa. Cape Town A restaurant with the intriguing moniker "Burger or Lobster" immediately piqued our interest – the pairing itself is, after all, one of our favorite culinary combinations. The restaurant is modestly sized and maintains a rather dim ambiance, which, in my view, suffered from a lack of adequate lighting. However, on the whole, the design is undeniably stylish. The Food: Our meal began with a selection of dishes, starting with the fresh oysters, served with finely diced cucumber and a distinctive vinegar-based dressing. The oysters were fresh and plump, though of a slightly smaller size. For our appetizer, we opted for the brisket pieces. While the concept of the dish was, in itself, interesting, its execution fell rather short of our expectations. Some of the pieces were composed entirely of fat, while the meat itself had a texture more akin to stew than grilled fare, lacking both depth of flavor and any hint of a smoky char. The accompanying sauces only served to amplify the richness of the dish, and the overall combination felt somewhat incongruous with the meat. For our main course, we both indulged in lobster. Sadly, only smaller lobsters were available, however they were undeniably expertly prepared. The flesh was remarkably tender, almost creamy, and possessed a subtle sweetness, which, in combination with the lemon-butter sauce, made for a succulently delicious experience. The accompanying French fries were fried to a crisp, while a fresh salad provided a welcome counterpoint. We also have a particular fondness for their lobster roll with an increased portion of lobster; the soft buns, generous amount of lobster and perfectly judged sauce coalesce to make this dish a real highlight. Service: The service was good, though not particularly attentive. Nevertheless, we felt very comfortable. The staff were all affable, but the service seemed to lean more towards a rather perfunctory bring-and-clear approach. Conclusion: This is, in essence, a commendable restaurant that offers a tasty lobster experience. We have a genuine fondness for this restaurant and occasionally visit when we are in the vicinity. Given that lobster is not a particularly ubiquitous offering in Cape Town, this establishment presents a suitable option for a more casual lunch or dinner with friends.

I’ve been eager to visit this place for months after discovering it on social media, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is fantastic, with a great atmosphere, and I went with family. We started with cocktails, which were all excellent—especially the Mellow Fellow, which was a real standout. We shared the Brisket Burnt Ends and B&L Cheese Balls, both of which were delicious. I had the Wolf Burger, and it was absolutely fantastic. A special shout-out to our waitress, Kiara. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making our experience even more enjoyable.

Burger & Lobster is a true gem on the restaurant scene in Cape Town. From the gorgeous red lighting to the friendly, efficient staff and of course, scrumptious food & drinks, this place never disappoints. Was last here on Sunday, 1st Dec'24, with a group of 6 clients after making an impromptu booking and was pleasantly surprised at how the staff went out of their way to help us. I cannot recommend this place enough and will be back here every chance I get💞

We tried this place for dinner. I had a lobster roll with extra meat and chips and my husband had a burger and chips with drinks. The manager had just checked on us soon after we'd received our meals and barely tasted it, we said everything was fine. Soon after that, we realized the food was just okay. It really tasted bland. There was no seasoning whatsoever on anything! My salad was fine though. Not certain if it's just the way it is, we didn't want to complain. Also, it was a bit overpriced from what we had.

I am not sure what I was doing at a Lobster spot as a person allergic to shell fish😳 Megan was kind enough to warn me that most of the bar bites are fried in the Calamari oil😫 Thankfully the cheese balls and fries are not, sadly the ribs and everything else are not a good option for me, the reused oil. To be fair it’s mainly a seafood spot, it would be unfair to blame them. Clean and inviting spot especially for happy hour😉

Had literally the best dinning experience of our lives here, wouldn’t have been possible without Daniyal, super attentive and beyond friendly. We made great conversation and gave us great recommendations for Cape Town. The food was amazing, It’s going to be very hard to top the food AND our service. Thank you so so much, for everything, I would do my 12 hours of travel 100 times over just for this place.
