"This South Devon coastal hotel in the UK features a restored 1930s art deco design. Its stained glass dome ceiling and live 1930s music in the Ballroom provide a whimsical and glamorous retreat reminiscent of The Grand Budapest."

We have just arrived home after a 2 night stay in one of the suites and we had a truly amazing time. With both of us being fans of Agatha Christie, and long having known the reputation of the hotel, we booked a short stay for our honeymoon. I have to say that all of our expectations were met, and beaten, by the whole experience! The hotel, grounds, mermaid pool and rooms are all beautiful. The staff are friendly and incredibly attentive. Dining in the Grand Ballroom was truly the experience it's billed as. While all the staff were amazing, a special thank you needs to go to Vlad. He is clearly deeply in love with the hotel and deeply committed to ensuring that every guest feels like royalty. His tour of the hotel was a particular highlight! We cannot wait to return.

Just a brilliant experience. Hotel is very art deco and excellent. The staff are so attentive and professional. The food was truly superb. Our room was perfect with a sea view. It's a bit like stepping back in time in a really good way.

Stayed above the pub so our stay enjoyed the contrasting formal behaviour code of the restaurant, with the bumpy stormy fully exposed crossing on the big wheel tractor and the misbehaving pirates at the bar. Wonderful and uniquely British. Recommend me hearties

We had a 2 night stay in December and only regret is that we didn’t book for longer. |This is not a hotel stay but an experience where you are treated like superstars. |We received the warmest welcome, champagne on arrival, a free room upgrade and fantastic service for the entire stay. |We ate in both restaurants and drank in the pub and could not fault anything. |We will be back in the future, thank you to all the staff for making my Christmas gift amazing.

Stayed two nights for a birthday celebration as two couples. From the moment we parked our car, we were looked after like royalty - the staff were universally charming and couldn't do enough to help make our stay perfect. The food was excellent but the real draw is the location and the period detail. It really is like going back in time to a more elegant era.

We walked across the causeway for quite an expensive afternoon tea. The decor in the hotel transported you to a glamorous, bygone age. The Art Deco building and grounds overlooking the sea are well worth exploring. Service was friendly, professional and attentive. Perfect for a special occasion.

Afternoon tea here is a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Lovely walk across the beach. Our afternoon tea was delicious and the staff were so friendly. We had a walk around the beautiful grounds before catching the sea tractor back. It was booked for a special occasion and they did not disappoint

We visited with a tour group and enjoyed a delicious cream tea at the Burgh Island Hotel. The decor is glorious, dripping with 1930s glamour and style. The food was brought out on stylish tiered trays, and was delicious. The waiting staff were delightful, and they dealt very well with my dairy intolerance. Everything about this experience was really special.

Wonderful place, evocative of another more elegant era. All the main rooms are Art Deco. Quite pricey, but wonderful for a special occasion, all the rooms are like being on an Ocean Liner. Links with Agatha Christie. Can only be accessed by tractor at High Tide, quite an adventure
