These 7 Properties Will Make You Feel Like You're at the Grand Budapest Hotel

"This South Devon coastal hotel in the UK features a restored 1930s art deco design. Its stained glass dome ceiling and live 1930s music in the Ballroom provide a whimsical and glamorous retreat reminiscent of The Grand Budapest."

A simply superb place to take your other half to celebrate anything. Food and drink was great, really historic hotel full of character. Faultless service. We had the evening meal in the ballroom, with a different wine with each course. Simply superb. The trio - a singer, piano player and guitarist, were perfect, great ambiance. Expensive stay, but worth every penny.

We came to Burgh Island 3 years ago and decide that our 30th wedding anniversary merited a return trip. From the minute you are collected from the car park to the minute you leave, you are treated as a very special guest. The hotel is authentically Art Deco and the interior and exterior are both interesting and beautiful. The service is second to none and all the staff are friendly and very eager to ensure that you have everything you need. The food is very tasty, innovative and perfectly cooked and the wines are perfectly matched. The island itself is beautiful with stunning views and my favourite place is sitting on the terrace with my book and a glass of champagne or one of the amazing cocktails that are on offer,

Have just come back from a delightful weekend on the island. The hotel is idyllic, every single member of staff from the tractor guys to the receptionists, the waiters and especially Vlad make you feel so incredibly welcome and special. The hotel is very unique and there are lots of cruise ship style services like luggage taken to rooms and rooms turned down at night that make it even better. The food was incredible as were the cocktails and wines. We really really enjoyed it and definitely want to return. Chris & Amy

We visited for a special occasion and choosing Burgh Island couldn't have made it any more special. It is an art deco delight, with the most wonderful setting and staff. ||||This is luxury of a different kind - you won't find swimming pools and TVs in the room, but as a chance to experience bygone glamour, it's unmatched.||||We were looked after so well, the staff clearly love working there and it shows. Nothing is too much trouble and they were all so lovely and helpful. Reception, bar restaurant and they guys that ferry you back and forth - all so friendly and happy.||||The food was also amazing and the black tie dinner in the ballroom is an event, worth dressing up for!

A very special time away. The hotel draws you straight into the 1930s with it's fabulous decor and atmosphere. Excellent service throughout the stay from the moment you are collected at the car park. Splendid food and drink served always with a smile.||The opportunity of an evening to dress elegantly and be entertained by a jazz trio whilst eating beautiful food within a decadent ballroom setting.

This is SPECIAL. From your arrival by sea tractor to a splendid black tie dinner in the ballroom you can live the glided 1930s with the best of food (in particular the banana soufflé is sublime!) and hotel service. This Art Deco haunt of the rich and famous has been sympathetically refurbished and is well worth indulging in for a brief respite from the busy world. From an early sea mist to watching the tides change below the iconic hotel you will not want to leave this little haven.

The most magical way to spend our anniversary. |From being greeted with a glass of champagne to our stay in the Cunard room and the feeling of another era when joining the other guests in the magnificent ballroom for dinner was like being in a 1925 film set.|The meal was lovely and the 3 piece jazz band set the tone for a very memorable evening.

Wonderful place, evocative of another more elegant era. All the main rooms are Art Deco. Quite pricey, but wonderful for a special occasion, all the rooms are like being on an Ocean Liner. Links with Agatha Christie. Can only be accessed by tractor at High Tide, quite an adventure
