My friend and I went to Burgoo during happy hour. The staff were super friendly! The starters were buy one, get one free--we got the garlic shrimp and pierogies. Both tasted great, but the garlic shrimp really stood out. I LOVED it! For the main dish, I ordered the Gooey Cheese Grillers with a Kale Caesar salad. The baguettes were loaded with cheese. They were not bad but I might try something else next time. The salad, though, was so good! The kale and Caesar combo worked really well together. We also ordered the strawberry lemonade, which tasted super fresh. I'd definitely order it again!

We were looking for a dog friendly patio and decided to go to Burgoo. The hostess seated us and soon after the server took our order. The menu has changed. We ordered Dicky’s dumplings and garlic shrimp. The pork and shrimp dumplings were kind of bland by themselves. The sauce did not pair well with the dumplings. Did not taste sweet or chili. The sesame crunch added maybe just a little to the texture. I would pass on the dumplings. The garlic shrimp was good. Although the star seemed to be the bread and toasted tomatoes! We sampled each other’s orders. The fab salad was good. Straight up tomato soup passed the test. The grilled cheese was good. Lobster mac and cheese ok. My lobster bisque and tuna banh mi were misses. I would just make a regular tuna melt. The canned tuna with mayo and pickled vegetables didn’t seem to go well together. Perhaps using raw tuna or poke tuna would have been better. The chicken pesto melt passed. Overall the patio was nice and service very good. The food was just ok. For my money I would walk further up or down Main.

I will definitely go back to this location, it's comforting, cozy, warm and inviting. My son recommended we go for lunch and I'm glad we did. The food was good, pretty much as expected. I had the Mac n' Cheese with pulled pork and he had the Irish Stew special. It was the perfect comfort lunch on a rainy Saturday. Our server was helpful and friendly. Really no complaints at all.

Google
We had a wonderful experience at Burgoo on Main St. The biscuits and herbed butter are fresh. We ordered a mini Mac and Cheese for the table which was to die for! The Lamb stew on special was spectacular: flavorful and not too rich. I wish we had saved room for dessert. Great atmosphere, lovely service, great kids menu and a wish bone at the end of the meal! Grilled cheese and mushroom soup was also fantastic

Google
Cosy and inviting spot along Main St for delicious appetizers and comfort food! I like this location and will be back to try some other menu items. This time, I ordered a selection of appetizers and they were flavourful and satisfying! Service was very good, and my server was pleasant and professional. The atmosphere is a highlight of this location! The wood accents and cosy vibes make the restaurant feel like a rustic, wood cabin, which is perfect when the weather isn't so nice out. The bathroom was pretty good. The wood accents continued here, and some small decorations added some interest to the space. Fittings were good, but the sink was small and the toilet paper holder was farther than is ideal. Fortunately, it was neat and well maintained, so I'd still happily use this bathroom again. Bathroom: 7/10 Great experience overall, definitely worth coming back!

It was a beautiful day to come down to Burgoo. It was my friend’s birthday and he wanted some delicious comfort food. This place DELIVERED that! I got the chicken sandwich and it was JUICY! The salads were phenomenal and delicious. It was so good, I forgot I had a drink to replenish my mouth. To add to that, the view on the patio was stunning! The waiter even made sure to put the heat on in case we were cold. The wishbone that was offered to us after our meal was a really fun way to end off the birthday dinner.

Google
First time visiting. Ordered the dumplings and prawn appies. They were both delicious. I ordered the jambalaya. It was not appetizing at all. My friend ordered the French onion soup. That was good. The strawberry lemonade was quite good as the server added more soda water since it was non-alcoholic and I did not want it very sweet. Service was ok. Water never re- filled. Dirty plates not taken away.

Google
I ordered takeout and was disappointed with the size of the takeout containers and my beef bourguignon all mushrooms and no beef. No exaggeration - there was around 2 normal size pieces and two small cuts. The meal was overly oily as well… $30 for the beef bourguignon $4.50 for the biscuits $7 dollars for the salad Uber total (not including tip) - $45 I used to love eating here but will never order takeout from here again since they don’t put in as much care as they do into the meals as they do for customers dining in.

Yelp
Excellent food had 2 X El Cubano Sandwich and Kale salad a pleasure and also ordered a tomato soup with salad. We all enjoyed the meal and would come again. Ambiance is pleasant and service is good. Good home style cooking with a flare.

Yelp
My wife, daughter & me went to Burgoo (Main Street) again yesterday for an evening meal. We are Vegetarians. Burgoo has a " limited Vegetarian Menu", though the staff willing to substitute the meat with cheese or some vegetables. We ordered 2 x Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwiches, 1 x Gooey Cheese grill, I x fondue & 1 ice cream with chocolate pudding. The Eggplant Sandwiches come with Soup or Salad. (We opted for Mushroom & Tomato soups). All the dishes were good, tasty & soothing. One of the main factors that enhances the taste of the food are the Jamaican Moutaka Hot Sauce , Choula Chilli Sauce & Tomato Ketchup respectively. The Sauces are served by the bottle & not " the cheap way of dishing out packets or in small plastic containers" . The place is lively ,cozy & gives a nice feeling . Service was excellent ! The toilets were very clean & well maintained. The place deserves a visit by those seeking good ambience & comfort food. would however like to suggest that the Restaurant add more Vegetarian items, add "french fries" to their Sandwiches as part of the meal & indicate the Vegetarian dishes with "V" symbol on side in Green for easy identification. The Clientele too were of a better Class than the usual modern types. Overall a good satisfying experience.

Yelp
The Burrard street location downtown is always amazing- delicious food, can't beat the "after school special" soup and gooey grilled cheese sandwich on a rainy day! The staff are friendly and provide excellent service.

Yelp
We had my friends surprise bday brunch here and they were so accommodating. It got really busy though so they had to kick us out. I feel bad we stayed for so long and were loud. The waitress was very attentive. The food was good. The options were not many but decent enough so you don't have to think too hard too early in the morning.

Yelp
So good. We went for my birthday dinner and it was amazing. They gave me a free dessert. We loved are dinner and the banana bread pudding yummm

Yelp
It was yet another rainy day in Vancouver and I was seeking pure comfort food so decided to go to Burgoo. I'm so glad I made that decision because I left feeling cozy and warm on the inside (might have been all that cheese). For drinks we got their fresh mango cooler and aperol spritz. Both were good! The mango cooler was non-alcoholic but very refreshing! For appetizers we were torn between their fonduementale and brie fondue but decided to go for the first one. It came with cubes of apple, grapes, crouton, and tomatoes. All those went so well with their gooey cheese! For main course I got their french onion soup and gooey cheese grills. I was in heaven! Their french onion soup is one of the best I've had, towards the end I was left with a blob of cheese and some soup. The portion was so big! Their gooey cheese grills came with a side of tomato soup, it was the epitome of comfort food. Never had grilled cheese like that before! There's a reason Burgoo is considered the best for comfort food in Vancouver.. 5/5

Yelp
Our server autumn was very nice and patient too. The food was phenomenal the Mac and cheese is to die for and the hummus is very garlicky which I like. not too pricey either great atmosphere and good music.

Yelp
I used to love this place, but not after last nights delivery. We had two "after school specials" which had been our go to comfort food in fall, but the portion size for the soup is now so ridiculously small, it makes it not with tit. 200ml as a side of soup is a joke and it felt like our money was thrown away, seriously can't even serve a full cup of soup??? The food is delicious, but I can't get past 200ml of soup.

Yelp
Burgoo - Mount Pleasant location 3096 Main St, Vancouver 604-873-1441 https://www.burgoo.ca/ Went there for a late lunch with my daughter, we happened to be there 20 mins before their happy hour start (3-5pm) We decided to have a Parmesan Chicken burger & tomato soup to share. The burger was tasty with lots of pesto & arugula on it. The soup was very good. For happy hour, we ordered the fondue (20% off during happy hour). They also had a happy hour menu, we had the jalapeño popcorn chicken- nicely breaded & crispy. It has a very slight kick to it not spicy at all. Service was awesome, she was very friendly, attentive & such a cheery disposition. Loved the decor, so warm. Do check it out, street parking available.

Yelp
Cheese please! I've been here many times, but last time we had the fondue to start, which was awesome. I then had the Mac and cheese with tomato added and a Pinot Grigio. This is comfort food to the max. The interior is cozy and feels like a chalet in the mountains. The servers are always friendly. The food doesn't come quickly because it's not fast food, so if you are hungry get some olives to start with your wine. Good food takes time! On other visits I've tried the grilled cheese (yum) and their ratatouille with side of mashies (also yum).

Yelp
Great lunch Reasonable prices Not too noisy Decent service Try it. It's perfect for comfort food on a cold day

Yelp
Really cute/homey interior. We asked for the patio because we were a little warm from our walk down Main St. The patio was blasting hot from the heaters but the staff turned it off for us. We had the honeycomb pale ale, corn ribs, and a tomato soup/ FAB salad. The corn ribs have a tasty batter that had me actually gnawing on the "rib". The tomato soup was super tasty, not too creamy or cheesy like other places. The FAB salad is a greens with bacon, red onion, and apple in a vinaigrette. Very light and delicious. We will have to come back to try their entrées! Service was excellent for a Saturday brunch time.

Yelp
Burgoo! Food for comfort I really like the vibes of this restaurant! It's a bit fancy looking and quite cosy. I got a sandwich, the tasty chicken. I like that it came with hard bite chips and coleslaw, interesting sides. I liked the chips more than coleslaw though. The tasty chicken has bacon, onion jam, Brie, apple and Dijon mayo for $16.5 I liked the bacon and the apple gave it a nice crunch. We also got a big bowl soup served with herb buttered baguette (wish there was more baguette to dip into the soup, only one piece of bread ) we got straight up tomato vine ripened tomatoe, garlic , red wine, olive oil for $10 it's quite fancy soup, although oily, it's quite flavourful and thick. I really liked the consistency and warms you up! Just need more things to dip with the soup is my only suggestion.

Yelp
That popular place a few doors up Main St., was to busy. Didn't want to wait outside (packed inside) on a typical rainy gray Saturday, Someone suggested Burgoo Bistro. A good menu selection pricier than that fore mentioned brunch place. No Burgoo brunch menu but good regardless. I had the Tasty Chicken sandwich with excellent toppings and a FAB salad (good coffee). This combo menu selection was in that Goldie Lock zone (just right). Lots of natural, rustic looking wood throughout. Interior is like old Europe meets the Flintstones, but why no Burger on the menu at Burgoo?

Yelp
Enjoying a French Onion soup, highly recommended by my neighbour. Burgoo today is bustling! The opaque brown broth is rich and well-seasoned. Properly chewy cheese topping a very substantial stack of bread makes this a stand alone lunch. Cosy and warm atmosphere. Will return to sample other mains. Lots of local beer. Corner of 15th and Main, long time location. East street parking and transit.

Yelp
I've went to Burgoo for a few times and I'm so happy that I get to try new things everytime! I was so happy to see Jambalaya on the menu, since I didn't get to eat one at Disney, it's nice to have an alternative. I like that they have a generous amount of toppings. I think overall it taste pretty good, however I was never a fan of spice, so this might not be for me. The jerk wings was really good as well, love the kick that the heat gives. The crab bisque was also very tasty, however I think the tomato flavor is overpowering as the crab flavor a bit. Overall I enjoyed everything I had and would definitely come back again sometime in the future!

Yelp
My Airbnb host highly recommended Burgoo and I'm glad I took her up on it! I don't even remember what I ate, but I know it was good and it was something smaller so I would have room for dessert. I was seated at the bar next to someone I soon realized worked there. I didn't catch her name but she was lovely, and we had great conversation. Then later after she left and I went to pay my bill, the bartender (who also deserves a mention - friendly and efficient, with a cute accent) told me she got my dessert. Awe! How NICE. Fun ambience, Burgoo is a great place with something for everyone. Note it gets loud in there and reservations are a good idea.

Yelp
Burgoo has been a staple restaurant for me for the last 8 years. They have phenomenal food and drinks with a very cozy and relaxed interior. The top menu items (for me) have always been the chicken pot pie, the Griller Bikini style (Grilled cheese with truffle and mushrooms), and the chicken and corn soup. Chicken Pot Pie - 9/10 - very flavourful and well balanced, with a perfect pastry. I've ordered this the last 4 times I've been here, and will likely continue doing so Griller Bikini Style with Tomato Soup - 9/10 - one of the best Grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. Easily a 10/10. The tomato soup was very good, but a bit under-seasoned, thus the final score. Taste - 9/10 Plating - 9/10 Ambiance - 8.5/10 Overall - 9/10

Yelp
Burgoo has a really nice and comforting vibe. And it was exactly what we were looking for to chill and relax after a tiring day. Their drinks have interesting names. We went in during happy hour and got the dark 'n stormy and l'il greyhound. Both were refreshing. The roasted potatoes are delish, good seasoning. We also got the ratatouille, good taste but pricey for the quantity. Our server was very friendly and good to have a chat with.

Yelp
8 years later and I got the exact same thing...guess the love of chicken never changes! The sunset and corn soup with the tasty chicken sandwich was my choice for lunch today and it is exactly as advertised! The corn soup is full of corn kernels and chunks of chicken in a thick, tasty soup that wasnt too creamy but still very hearty. The tasty chicken sandwich has changed quite a bit from a few years ago as it was not served open faced, looked a bit larger and did not have a piece of lettuce in it (I only notice because I have previous pictures). On the other hand, it is a delicious sandwich with bread that is neither too hard nor too soft and I asked for bacon on the side since I dont love bacon and I thought it was great without! The apple added a nice element of sweet and crunchy while the brie gave it that creamy element. Overall, the meal here was quite good and filling but soup and sandwiches are something I make frequently at home so I don't come often.

Yelp
Came here on a snowy Tuesday night and surprised to see so many people out and about still. Waited about 10 min for a table of 2, service was a bit slow but the food is delicious! We got the after school special, picking the dos diablos sandwich + crab bisque - what an awesome combo! We also got the french onion soup and the F.A.B salad. Everything was delicious and the comfort foods hit the spot on this snowy night.

Yelp
Tomato Soup- good portion with the combination item in menu, tastes a lot like red wine so it's somewhat of acquired taste with soup but tasted great with burger Vegetarian Sandwich- amazing burger loved all the flavors and was really filling Service was amazing

Yelp
My wife, son, in-laws and I came here for dinner tonight after our AirBNB host left a note containg their favorite spots around town. After checking out the menu, we decided to come and we are glad we did. Kirk was very friendly and welcoming. He found us a booth in the back and brought us a high chair for our son. They also had a family restroom with a changing table that fathers can use. This is a big thing for me now that I am a dad. The drinks were refreshing. I had the Lavendar Lemonade and my wife went for the pineapple guava soda. We also ordered the Cheese Fondue with Bread, Apples, Grapes and Tomatoes. Our son enoyed watching us dip the ingredients in the fondue and eating the pieces with us. I needed some greens to help me absorb some of the comfort food . Kirk was able to get me a Side Caesar Salad. For my main dish I went with the Ratatouille and asked that Chicken be added. Delicious food indeed!

Yelp
My co worker recommended it and so I decided to try it out! My boyfriend and I made the best of the night and tried something new! Sonam, our hostess was so friendly and courteous! She made sure we felt comfortable, despite being outside in the patio. Our waitress Leslie was just a joy! She was not only fun to talk to but also over and beyond with her service! She recommended everything we'd love!! We had the cheese fondue and it was gone in an instant! Also, I had the eggplant caprese and the French onion soup!! Omg the soup was a classic and heavenly!! My boyfriend who is such a picky eater I might add, FINISHED EVERYTHING!! He had tomato soup with the chicken sandwich. He kept saying how it was remarkable comfort food!! Thank you so much everything!

Yelp
Burgoo was so .. burGOOD! Our family offered to watch our toddler (terrible twos..) for the day so after spending some time at the Bloedel Conservatory we walked all the way down Main Street. My boyfriend has a newfound obsession with the battle game Warhammer so as he was perusing yet again more Warhammer paraphernalia at a hobby store I took the liberty of deciding where to eat. After scrolling through Yelp I found Burgoo. I had been thinking about eating some French food already so we walked there after the hobby store. For 2 people at 12:30pm we waited about 20 min, they text you when your table is ready. Warm and cozy interior.. it reminded me of being in a cabin.. or even wherever the Hobbit lived. LOL, so between us 2 we ordered: Honey Harissa Wings: lemony, a little sour, not as crunchy as we would like (however my boyfriend MAY have had a heavy hand with the lemon it came with..) French Onion Soup: PERFECTION Beef Bourguignon: ordered this after I saw many pictures on Yelp. So so so so so warm.. and comforting.. I felt like Anton Ego at the end of Ratatouille after his first bite of ratatouille.. although instead of transporting me back to my childhood, I felt just.. so happy and satisfied LOL!! So happy we stumbled upon this place...

Yelp
The most epic amazing meal ever! My husband and I were so hungry when we arrived, we ordered a more than we could handle, but it was worth stuffing our face. Items we tried: Decadent French Onion. The roasted onions, rich beef broth, country croutons with Gruyere, Emmental, and Mozzarella melted on top was AMAZING. Beef Bourguignon. Red wine braised beef, caramelized pearl onions, carrots, and mushroom was the perfect mix. After School Special. Any soup and sandwich of your choice. We got the crab bisque and the Cubano. Both items were just as amazing as everything else. We also got a hot spiked apple cider and spiked mulled wine. These paired perfectly with our meal. EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING was delicious. I seriously am craving the Decadent French Onion now as I type this up...
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the After School Special and it was delicious! This was a super cheesy sandwhich and I recommend it for all the cheese lovers out there. Our server, Jacqueline, was friendly and provided exceptional service! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Great place to get some comfort food! The Grilled Cheese Sandwich was oozing with cheese and what better to dip your sandwich in then tomato soup. The Shepherds Pie is a classic...had great flavours! The service was prompt and friendly! We will definitely come again!

Yelp
If it's a rainy day, and you want to get some warm, comfort food that'll stick to your ribs, Burgoo is a solid choice. When I came here for the first time, I thought Burgoo was a burger joint with a silly name. With the help of Google, I quickly realized that "Burgoo" is actually a spicy stew, similar to Irish stew, often served with cornbread or corn muffins. They have several types of these stews, all with a variety of different meats and vegetables. These stews are thick and chunky; each mouthful will contain at least one piece of meat. They aren't spicy as much as they are tangy and flavorful. I also have tried their Ratatouille and pot pies which use fresh ingredients. Price-wise, Burgoo is relatively affordable and in line with places like White Spot. Service is friendly. Seating can be limited during peak weekend times around brunch and lunch. But, additional outdoor seating is available during sunny days.

Yelp
Last night was the first time I came to Burgoo with a girlfriend, who introduced me to the place. I instantly fell in love with their very simple wooden decor and dim lighting. It was as if I were in a little cottage in the middle of nowhere and life was just a bliss! It was so great that I had to return today with my husband, hence the tons of food photos! We ordered: Starters: Brie fondou and farmers sausages Main: Shepherds Pie, Tuna Poké, Beef Bougiurgnon, Wednesday wings Dessert: Sticky toffee pudding I am giving this a 5-star because of our amazing server, AUTUMN! You are absolutely brilliant and I hope you'll be our server whenever we come and dine there! The food was incredible! I wish the Brie fondou would have a free refill, at least half a refill but I understand how expensive it is. Everything was decadent; loved the taste and flavour profile.

Yelp
When you think of international cuisine, this place should be popping in your head. This place has all sort of food you can think of: if you're craving Korean, they have the Korean fried chicken, if you're craving Irish, they have chicken pot pie, if you're craving french, the have their famousfrench onion soup. We came for dinner on a Sunday day night and it was busy and they were a little slow. We had to wait about 25 minutes before getting seated and probably about 30 more minutes for our food. We opted for the Argentinian chimichurri ribs and the Kentucky burgoo which came with a side of burgoo biscuits. Ribs- im not used to the chimichurri sauce on the ribs so it was a little unusual for me since it was a little tangy/tart. The meat itself was decent. Kentucky burgoo - I thought bthe biscuits on it's own with the butter is good, but doesn't go well with the burgoo. The burgoo, which is basically stew, is good on it's own or maybe go better with rice. The burgoo was flavorful and good, I love all the texture in the stew and the corn added a nice sweetness. The price is on the higher end and I thought everything was ok. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes as their menu is intriguing enough. I probably will try to not go during a busy time though as service bwas super slow
google avatar

John V.

Yelp
They are open now and as always, staff was amazing and they have all the precautions in place. I believe their menu wasn't the full one but it's a nice place to hang out and enjoy the patio. Go for: some mac and cheese with a beer on the patio Don't go for: a robust menu

Yelp
In love with the CHEESY fresh onion! Found this lovely bistro in downtown Vancouver serving the most delicious soups and comfort food~ the gooey layer of melted cheese makes me drool just by looking at it! The soup was super filling with the bread inside Recommends their Afternoon Special set, to try their the rich crab bisque and signature chicken sandwich at once. The soup is served in the same size as the regular soup bowl. Their red wine braised beef stew is also amazingly delicious pairing with some flatbread. Loved the caramelized onions and mix of great tender veggies Decadent French Onion | $12.50 Beef Bourguigon | $18.00 Crab Bisque & Tastier Chicken Sandwich | 18.50 (Special Set)

Yelp
Burgoo is one of the restaurants in Vancouver you'd keep hearing about. in recent years, they've opened a couple of locations. I finally made my way out to this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and casual. There's a patio as well, which was all full when we were there. We arrived at 630 pm, and had to wait for approximately 30 minutes. If you chose to sit at the bar, your wait would be shorter, which was what we did. My brother and I were going for drinks/desserts after dinner so we only wanted a "quick bite" here. Obviously, our server didn't really like that we were ordering only entrees + one soft drink for myself. The "frown" was evident on her face when we repeated that we did not want to order drinks or appies. Her service already deducted points (and stars) at this point. I ordered the namesake - the Kentucky "Burgoo". The Burgoo had different kinds of meat in there and the taste was quite heavy and spicy. My brother's gooey cheese griller was quite delicious! If you love grilled cheese sandwiches, you'd love this! It was a combination of the creamy cheese and the crispy bread - perfect! You can choose either salad or soup with your sandwich. HE picked the Thai curry chicken soup which was quite yummy. I also ordered an ice tea and I specifically asked for "easy ice" because i hate it when all the ice cubes dilute my drink! When it came, the glass was filled half with ice cubes! When the server cleared our plates, she asked if we'd like anything else. We said no and there was the frown again. Seriously, you got to hide your disappointment more professionally. Not every diner wants to order the full blown mean - alcohol drinks, appies, entrees and desserts, ok? Please kindly respect other people's preferences. With that said, Burgoo is an excellent place for casual dinner. They also have TV which you can watch your favorite sports!

Yelp
My first time dining at Burgoo, and it was the perfect meal to have on a chilly, yet sunny Fall afternoon. The space is smaller than I expected but the service was quick and efficient. My friend and I ordered their after school special with a side mac and cheese; Crab Bisque + El Cubano and French onion soup + Cheese grillers. Both were very delicious and flavourful, the soup was hot and toasty and lots and LOTS of cheese. Lots of patio seating and restaurant was clean and organized.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was great. Parking can be challenging, but you can find a spot around the area. No complaints!

Yelp
Burgoo has a few locations in the city. This one is located on Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. It is a mid-sized bistro located on Main Street and East 15th Avenue. Burgoo is well known for their soups and sandwiches, not to mention their most popular Macaroni and Cheese. Everything are very flavourful and delicious. This place never disappoints! It is a great place for comfort food with a pretty good price for any time & day of the week. We ordered an "After School Special" (a large cup of soup and a yummy sandwich, both of your choice). We chose Yummy Carrot and Shrimp Baguette. Tasty! Food: Must Try! 5/5 Service: ‍‍‍‍‍5/5 Price: $30-$50 for two (lunch or brunch) Kids: 5/5 Woohoo! - They have kid menu with smaller sizes. Most kids (most adults ‍) adore macncheese Presentation: 3/5 Parking: Street parking Explore the menu: Kentucky Hot Brown & Kale Caesar Salad, After School Special Tips: *has great price for "After School Special" = Soup & Sandwich combo *has perfect patio for a summer day *might be a bit challenge to find seat during peak hours Would I Return: Yes ‍

Yelp
I love this place. The atmosphere is nice as casual. It is my first time eating at the restaurant as I went to the one on burrard and got take out. My verdict is that it is always better to eat in the restaurant rather than get take out as the dishes that we ordered is better when it is browned in the oven. My partner and I had the same 2 dishes we ordered before. Mac and cheese and the Shepherds pie. They both were rich and flavourful. The lamb was tender and mashed potatoes were perfect. Mac and cheese had the perfect texture. I would definitely recommend and I am coming back.

Yelp
Our hotel recommended this place and now we understand why. We received excellent service and food. We sat on the patio for dinner. I had the soup and salad for $15. I chose the chicken and corn chowder soup. It had a slight spice to it and tasted homemade. The bistro salad consisted of mixed greens, red onion, quinoa, tomato and cucumber. It was made with fresh and quality ingredients. There was a bar with about six seats. There's umbrellas outside to provide shade. They have daily drink specials. Overall, I felt it was a great deal for the quality of food and service we received.

Yelp
Burgoo has amazing service and it was the perfect place to go for comfort food, especially on a rainy day!

Yelp
If you don't get a grilled cheese from here, you are a damn fool. The service was just ok, but the food was phenomenal.

Yelp
Cute little patio Lots of food choices, the sandwiches are yum! The service is great. They were all out of gin when I tried to order a drink and a lot of their drinks were gin based lol

Yelp
Comfort food! The mushroom soup is delicious and the eggplant sandwich and the dos diablos sandwich were the perfect combination for the after school meal.

Yelp
Always one of my favourite spots for comfort food! They're good for when you need a pick me up, as if you're visiting home and you just need some homemade goodness to hit the spot. I usually order soup and salads. Everything else is good, too, but nothing too wowing. It's just comfort food, and comfort food varies per person on how it's made. That being said, the macaroni and cheese is good but gets tiring after a few bites - I'm super picky about macaroni and cheese sauce, though. Same goes for chicken pot pie. But something that blew me away was the grilled cheese sandwich. I finally tried it recently - it took a while because of the price but I heard so many good things about it. It's a baguette sandwich that comes with soup or salad. I added a tomato on there and it was DELICIOUS. This is the thing here I'd order again!

Yelp
I love Burgoo and have been going to the one on Main St for years! If I go for lunch, I almost always have the French Onion soup. True comfort food and the best there is BUT, I went today after an absence of a while, ordered the soup and it is nothing like what I have come to expect...loads of melted cheese etc. This time, it was entirely bread on top with a small bit of cheese. Usually it's so hot that it takes a while to break through the thick crust of cheese to the soup beneath. Not this time! At $18.00 for a bowl of soup, I won't be ordering this again I understand cost cutting, but you may as well remove this from the menu Sorry to give an unfavourable review, but I was so disappointed!

Yelp
I have been to the Burgoo on W 10th and we stopped by this location on a cold wet fall day...perfect weather for Burgoo comfort food. The place was full so we were offered seating on the patio....it was covered and heated so off to the patio we went. Great that we were seated right away..but bad that we were forgotten on the patio. Shortly after being seated, our server came by to take drink orders and explain the dinner features. And we waited for our drinks and to order food. And then we waited some more. I called twice for someone to take our order. Just over 15 minutes later, our server returned to the patio with our drinks and so we could order dinner. I think the food came out quicker than our drinks. I ordered the Beef Bourguignon...the beef was nice and tender but I found the rosemary overpowering. Good comfort food on a cold wet fall evening but with the poor service, I can not recommend Burgoo Bistro on Main.

Yelp
I've known of this place for a long time, but I brushed it off, because I didn't know what they were about. Recently, I saw a blog post that it was opening its 5th location, and that put it back on my radar. So, last weekend, when we were thinking of where to go to eat at 3pm in the afternoon, an odd time to go out to eat, Burgoo popped into my head. I looked it up on yelp, it was open, and it serves "comfort food". Now, who doesn't love comfort food? So we went to Burgoo. I liked the place, it was cozy. I liked the service, it was courteous. But, I don't love the menu all that much. Since when does kale, and quinoa qualify as "comfort food"? nothing comforting about quinoa my friend. Anyway, we got the Fondumental to start, which is a cheese fondue. It was nothing to write home about. The crab bisque was good, and the Dos Diablos was very tasty, but on the expensive side for a soup and sandwich.

Yelp
Going to Burgoo made me realize that we as a city, are spoiled rotten. Our cup overfloweth when it comes to cuisine. My friends were coming in from out of town and really wanted to go to Burgoo. I bit my lip at the thought of suggesting other places on my 'list to try' and off we went. It was so pleasing! How dare I have ever considered it lesser than?! From the easy parking, to the hand-crafted lemonade. It is really hard to find a restaurant that serves fondue that meets the 'home-made standard'. Burgoo delivered. And how! I honestly couldn't decide which I liked better: the Queso with hits of chorizo or the traditional wine and Gruyere. My friend is an AMAZING home chef and declared himself happy with the jambalaya (if only hoping for a few more shrimp). We sat on the patio but I found the overall decor so welcoming. I know this is strange, but pay attention to the napkins. I want to know where they source them from. They are the best quality disposable napkins I have ever encountered! Perfect for the comfort food Burgoo is known for.
