17 Hidden Las Vegas Spots It Would Be a Sin to Miss

"As one of the only collections dedicated to the seductive art of risqué dancing in the entire world, the Burlesque Hall of Fame may be the only museum that prefers visitors that are over 18 (though those under 18 are still allowed to enter). After taking over a fellow burlesque performer’s establishment, known as Exotic World, Burlesque Hall of Fame curator and founder Dixie Evans worked to maintain the historic collection documenting the history of the tease. Exotic World had been started in an attempt to create a space where the history of the burlesque arts would be remembered and where aging performers could find a home. The extensive collection contained everything from old costumes and intricate pasties to fliers for shows and playbills shouting such famous burlesque names as Chesty Morgan and Candy Barr.     Evans operated Exotic World in its original California home for a number of years before she moved the entire operation to the spiritual home of burlesque, Las Vegas. In this new location, the collection was renamed the Burlesque Hall of Fame and moved into a location on historic Fremont Street where it continues to thrive.  Today the collection has grown to contain several thousand costumes, stage props, photographs, and personal effects documenting the careers and lives of burlesque dancers, comics, and producers across nearly a century of performances. The Burlesque Hall of Fame is a growing testament to the power and social impact of the art of the tease." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

On the staff recommendation we went to Dita Von Teese & o-m-g…QUEEN! We did the cheap seats & it was still amazing in GA. The next night we did X Burlesque 2nd row pole side at the Flamingo….was like watching cheerleaders topless. So burlesque go to the Venetian, strip show go to the flamingo.

A very nice museum of local interest, not too busy so take the reservation recommendation on the website with a grain of salt, though it is not a super large space. I really enjoyed the costumes that were currently on display.

This was such a lovely little museum to visit! The tour guide was very informative and kind. A cute gift shop and a place to take photos with burlesque props! Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates the art of burlesque or just into interesting history!

Google
A testament to the history of Burlesque, and what it means to the women who founded it and continue its message. Long live the BHOF.

Google
Definitely recommend! The museum is small but a hidden gem for those who love history, with well done exhibits and a fun section in the back to try out some props yourself.

My friends and I went today for Museum Day! This place is not huge but it is packed with history! We got the official tour and our tour guide was awesome! She was very well spoken, knew her history and had me completely engaged! I highly recommend this as “must see/must do” when in Vegas!! I will definitely be back!

Cool history, cool experience. Go when there's a tour guide, it'll make the experience better. Very informative. Very interesting history!

"Show a little more, Show a little less, Add a little smoke..... Welcome to Burlesque" (Cher, Burlesque) Please note this place will be CLOSING JULY 20, 2025! So get here now! Having seen Dita Von Teese at Voltaire earlier in the week, and being a fan of the fictionalized Gypsy Rose Lee and a fan of Mae West, burlesque was on my mind during my Las Vegas trip. Luckily the Burlesque Hall of Fame came across my timeline and the day of the week worked out for me. I booked a ticket ahead of my visit, which provided me a guided tour of this small museum. For my timeslot I was the only guest on the tour which provided for great conversation with the very informative guide. There is so much history, talent, beauty and art woven into the fabric of Burlesque and much of that history is very relevant to today's political climate. Burlesque performers were and are empowered, providing commentary on society not just providing entertainment. Although small the amount of information packs a punch, you walk through a timeline of burlesque starting in the 1900s, but as the tour guide speaks you find out origins of the art started much earlier in a sense (Think ancient Greece). You'll end your tour in the modern era of neo-burlesgue and see a familiar martini glass. In addition to the primary exhibit there is a secondary, rotating exhibition on display. During my visit it was Brown Skin Showgirls - Leon Claxton's Harlem in Havanah Revue. The entire museum is filled with pictures of performers, pasties, jewelry, garments, gowns and accessories and knowledge and empowerment! I personally, during this current administration found hope and insight in this community that never stopped, never dulled their shine even when the world was against them. Towards the back of the museum you'll find the Bawdy Shop Studio. This is a space for learning, education, rehearsal, and practice. You'll have to check out their website to see what classes are being offered. Upon entry you'll walk into the gift shop with a variety of items available for sale to celebrate your experience. Sadly the current climate is taking its toll on this institution and they are planning to close July 20, 2025. This doesn't mean everything is being sold off, but will go back into the collection for storage and hopefully being able to open in a new location. There are opportunities to continue to support the museum by making a donation, purchasing from their gift shop or becoming a member of the museum.

Yelp
A unique and vibrant gem of history in downtown Las Vegas. This boutique style hall of fame is a living timeline into the world of burlesque. With historical images dating back to the 1800's, you'll learn about the origins of burlesque shows and exotic dancing. From the ages of chattel slavery in the United States to the stages of contemporary stripper clubs in Las Vegas. There's so much to learn. The images are framed and as previously mentioned they are situated in a boutique. The space is smaller than you'd expect and reminds me a lot of a dive bar. The staff is super friendly and our reservations were made online so we were checked in quick. Go check it out yourself and learn a bit about Las Vegas burlesque culture and history.

Yelp
The Burlesque Hall of Fame is located on Charleston and Main Street. Burlesque is typically known as the art of striptease and is usually intended for comedy. General admission is $18. They offer local discount for Nevada residents with valid ID, price is $15, and students and retired military is $12. Inside is lovely and charming! The tour begins with a comprehensive timeline and photos of women who helped shaped the art and culture of burlesque. There's a wall of fame and replicas of the first museum. Towards the back is Dita Von Teese martini glass and the Miss Exotic World banner. They even have a studio for workshops, classes, and seminars. There's also an interesting exhibit of Gypsy Rose Lee traveling trunk, and a wall of donated pasties. Their souvenir shop has really cool merchandise including clothing and books about the history of burlesque and show girls. It's a great experience, very informative, and insightful tour!

Yelp
Looking for non-casino things to do while Vegas, our friend suggested checking out the world's only museum dedicated to the history and the art of burlesque. We reserved tickets online to ensure admittance as they limit the amount of people for each guided 3 0 min tour. Located in the heart of Vegas' Arts District, we arrived for our 2pm reservation and had no problems with finding street parking on the block. We checked in and Buttercup was our guide for the tour. She was friendly and personable as she talked about the history of burlesque and by guiding us through the burlesque timeline and pointed out pictures of prominent performers such as Sally Rand, Gypsy Rose Lee, Tempest Storm, Lili St. Cyr, and Blaze Starr. There are costumes, props, pasties, and personal effects on display. The museum is not large and is just a large room with dividing walls to separate the sections. I felt the tour was very informative and interesting. If you're looking to learn about the history of burlesque, check out the The Burlesque Hall of Fame.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this little big museum. It's not far from the strip. You're greeted by the tour guide and given a wonderful yet brief history of burlesque throughout the ages. Surrounded by photographs and relics of former dancers. You can't help but be mesmerized.
google avatar

Crystal D.

Yelp
It was so interesting and informative! The staff are so engaging and so genuinely invested in the history of burlesque that you can't help but match their enthusiasm. It's also a non profit so you can feel good about supporting the preservation of burlesque history. Loved it here and want to bring more friends next time I'm in Vegas
google avatar

Yelp
What a cute place. It is in a nice corner with easy access to street parking. The place is tiny but mighty, chock full of costumes and timelines of burlesque. Our tour guide, drag king Jeffrey, was awesome; very personable, full of facts and stories, and I probably could have stayed listening for hours. I expect most people would spend around an hour there. It is a space you can move around in (as in not go one way then you are forced out), so you can go back to any of the areas to revisit. There's a rotating display; when I went there were 3 costumes up. I enjoyed seeing the art of costuming, which focused on the tricks of the trade in designing clothing meant to come off. There's also a cute display of donated nipple covers (I liked the guns the most ). Definitely worth a visit, and I hope they are able to continue to add to their collection.

Yelp
I'm biased here since I made a donation of my late mother in law's extensive collection of costumes and her personal effects. For anyone interested in seeing what the golden age of Burlesque......run don't walk to this shrine of memorabilia!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! So glad I found this museum to round out an interesting visit with California friends. Easy to get to and great parking out front, our first impression was pretty good. Now, Las Vegas is a city full of talent, but the show stopper was our tour guide Jeffrey! He was funny, charming and knowledgeable and really made our experience GREAT. Playing with the props at the end of our presentation was fun - who doesn't want to glam up with boas, feathered fans, and sleek, sexy gloves! Way to go!

Yelp
Great tour from fantastic staff! Entertaining and informative. Great gift shop. Rotating exhibits. A lot of fun!!

Yelp
Explore this charming museum, a must-visit for burlesque enthusiasts, offering a comprehensive history of the art. A big shoutout to the charismatic tour guide Jeffrey.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a nice and interesting Museum preserving the history of burlesque. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and she did a great job providing us the history of burlesque. If you are visiting the art district, stop into this classy little gem.

Yelp
A history lesson Public restroom Plenty of parking There was an entrance fee which included a guided tour There's a gift shop as you enter The tour includes seeing clothing, articles, and photos from all eras in history

Yelp
Really cool exhibits! The people were very nice and the tour was super interesting!! Definitely recommend :D

Yelp
Even though the Burlesque HOF is pretty small in terms of space, I was happy to contribute $15 and hang out by myself for 45 minutes. I had such a blast on this solo adventure. Having recently taken my first burlesque class, I felt a unique appreciation for the history of entertainment trailblazers. Also, I was obsessed with the wall of cute pasties--that's really what drew me in. Check out and support this local museum... and their gift shop!!

Maria R.

Yelp
Took a couple of classes and learned how to be sexy and learned fun dance moves I recommend taking a class it's life changing and the educators Buttercup and Darby Fox are just wonderful and the best mentors in the industry if I could give 10 stars I would Go take the tour and take the class You won't be disappointed, it's worth it !!!!

Shane W.

Yelp
Per the old Mark Twain quote, "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog". While the space is small, there's nothing but history packed within the walls of this epic attraction in the Arts District. My visit was made all the more enjoyable by the insanely awesome drag King tour guide, Jeffrey Xerxes Brice. Jeffrey was absolutely amazing, barely coming up for air while sailing over the unique history of American burlesque. Thanks for the props on my Donnie Darko shirt, King!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a fun little museum that traces the history of burlesque. I enjoy going to burlesque shows frequently and decided to stop by here to kill some time before my flight. I didn't know what to expect from entering the museum however, I left with a bigger appreciation for the art! The entrance fee is a reasonable amount (under $15) and also includes a guided tour of the intimate space. Jeffrey was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of burlesque. I spent a little over an hour at the museum and left feeling enlightened and titillated ;) The best part of this experience???? It's run by a 501 (c)(3) educational organization. Not only did I get to learn by visiting this lovely place... I was able to support an amazing organization that exists to preserve and educate the public about burlesque!!! I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
Great little museum. I wish it was a bit bigger, but it's chock full of history photos and artifacts. Jeffrey was our guide and was full of information and anecdotes about the history of Burlesque. There's quite a bit of nudity (no duh) so if you're a prude or a moralizer what the hell are you doing in Vegas anyway?!
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Spent a couple of days in Las Vegas poking around the Arts District and looking for non-casino related activities. We were fortunate enough to come upon The Burlesque Hall of Fame, a delightful little museum dedicated to the fine art of risqué stage entertainment. The Hall does a great job of conveying the fun of Burlesque while delivering a lot of factual historical information. It's stocked with many many photos, some intriguing artifacts, and various props one can play with if you so inclined. But it's the guided tour that ties it all together. Our host delivered a fantastic performance, while packing her talk with lots of great info.
google avatar

Lucia B.

Yelp
What a GEM! My partner and I visited this little wonder, and it was such a treat. The exhibit featured a ton of pictures and information, as well as beautiful costumes and relics from burlesque's storied past. Our tour guide, Darby Fox, was so funny, articulate, and knowledgeable, and her passion for the art was infectious. I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Leah F.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in the museum. It was small and not much was labeled. The worst part is the woman who does the "talk" was super rude. Never going back.. don't recommend
google avatar

Mikel S.

Yelp
Incredible collection and rare photos of a long gone era. Fantastic tour guide, Jeffery. Thank you.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
Great little museum honoring the history and legends of Burlesque. Staffer Jeffrey was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all aspects of the art form. They really made the visit interesting and entertaining, and also offered some suggestions for a place to have lunch in the neighborhood.

KC F.

Yelp
A very informative and fun stop on our first day in town. Jeffrey gave a great chat and we played with the boas . I may have missed my calling
google avatar

Katherine T.

Yelp
We bought tickets in advance, and I brought one of my friends who knows a few local performers, so this visit was set up with her in mind. We had a tour guide (Jill) who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of this special art form. Everything was well laid out and thoughtfully presented. You shouldn't need more than an hour, and it's time we'll spent. It's also a Las Vegas non-profit worth supporting.

Jessica M.

Yelp
A small but nice, and affordable, nonprofit museum that tells the history of Burlesque. The staff is very friendly.
google avatar

Shirin P.

Yelp
The girls doing the tours are knowledgeable about the subject as if they got a bachelor's degree in burlesque history. We had Amy( hopefully I spelled her name correctly) she was very thorough and engaging. She talked with such a passion that made you hungry for more. Space is small but a lot of information in such a tiny space. Totally recommend this museum. Neighborhood is being "gentrified" so it looks a little sketchy but worth the trip!
google avatar

Joshua F.

Yelp
I was thoroughly impressed by The Burlesque Hall of Fame. I wasn't sure what to expect, as some of the attractions in Vegas have a very tourist-trap feel. This is definitely NOT the case with BHOF. Every ticket comes with a guided tour through the timeline/evolution of Burlesque. Today our guide was Emie and she was honestly one of the best presenters/guides I've had. Very engaging, and her knowledge of the history of Burlesque was top-notch. Not once did she have to read from the timeline, and her passion for the industry comes through at all times. In fact, after the tour we had to ask where to go to see some quality Burlesque shows because she made *us* excited about the industry through her presentation. Prepare to spend at least an hour taking it all in - the tour itself took about 15-20 minutes, but there is way more to see and read about than just the timeline. Be sure to get some pics with feather fans, boas, and gloves in the back, too!! We will definitely be bringing visitors here in the future. A Vegas must-see!
google avatar

Crystal F.

Yelp
I went to this place, expecting more content. It was a one-room museum with mostly pictures and stories on the walls. There were 2-3 burlesque outfits, a burlesque performer's performance martini glass, and a trunk that belonged to Gypsy Rose Lee. It was slightly disappointing. However, it was free to attend, so I didn't lose any money. It was an interesting history lesson, but I wouldn't make it a destination, unless you have some time that you need to kill.
google avatar

Marina M.

Yelp
One of my favorite museums! Being a burlesque performer myself, I have a great fascination and appreciation for those that paved the way for us. There are some really amazing and memorable pieces at the Burlesque Hall of Fame such as Dita Von Teese's first giant martini glass prop, Jayne Mansfield's heart shaped couch, Sally Rand's feather fans, and numerous costumes/memorabilia. I'm so glad to see how BHOF has grown and that they have secured a new location for some of their amazing treasures!
google avatar

Candice B.

Yelp
This is the cutest place if your into everything burlesque. I got a full detailed tour and learned so much more than expected. I even got my own boob tassel making kit
google avatar

Kate Z.

Yelp
Came here on free museum day. Love the free tour. Very informative. Good place to spend an hour and learn a lot history.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
I like to do all things Vegas so we stopped in today. Mostly photos. Few burlesque outfits on display. Cool place to dress up in outfits and pose after. After we paid (local/military discount available) a lady lead us in and gave us a small tour and told us about people in photos. It was just okay. Over priced. Not allot there. It's a ladies photo collection basically. I would skip this and go to another attraction. There's allot to see in Vegas.

Cynthia C.

Yelp
Great museum. Wonderful history/herstory and fantastic tour by guide, Jeffrey! This was super informative and cool with a gift shop! Bring some cash for a tip as it's also a non-profit!

Eve G.

Yelp
Looking for something different to do, MU husband suggested the Burlesque Hall Of Fame. Reluctant I went with him. Great experience. Jeffrey gave us a very interesting history of burlesque. The museum is well done and Jeffrey made it very interesting to hear about the history. I would definitely recommend going. It will take you less than an hour but it will be worth it
google avatar

Kitty L.

Yelp
I happened to go on Super Bowl Sunday so I had the place to myself! Even got my own personal tour with a gal (I'm so sorry, I don't remember her name) who provided such in depth historical information that I would not have picked up, glossing over the wall signs. They are also part of NARM so if you are a member, it is well worth the time to check out on your next Vegas trip!

Chris C.

Yelp
We had a great time looking at the exhibits. Jeffrey was a fantastic tour guide. My suggestion would be to not enter early to look at the exhibits. Let them guide you through then go back and look again for anything you may have missed.
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
Before I talk about my experience at this place, I want to point out this a "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" kind of place. So, pay attention as you approach this street. It is not a big place, which surprised me. I thought it was going to be bigger. I really enjoyed visit the museum. Emmy, who was the cashier and tour guide, was phenomenal. She was energetic, bubbly and knowledgeable about the history and world of burlesque. I've always been fascinated about burlesque so this made my day. There are props in the back you can play, pose and take pictures with. While it is small and located on not one of the prettiest streets in Vegas, there is a lot of free parking and the atmosphere is very positive and fun.
google avatar

Joseph R.

Yelp
Was not disappointed at all! Such a fun, interactive and informative museum filled with people working there that are friendly, well spoken and extremely personable. I apologize if I use the wrong name but I got the tour, that is included with admission, with Emmy and she gave such a great run through of everything and was detailed and through with everything. I was laughing the whole time and learned so much. Anyone with an appreciation for the art of burlesque with love this place despite the size because of all the information given and because of the background of the place. One recommendation is to go right when they open so you can have the photo shoot area to yourself
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Burlesque enthusiasts may feel a little underwhelmed by the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas' Fremont district. It's within a small café/arts community, which is neat in itself to walk around, but the museum itself is a one room with a bunch of printed facts and Wikipedia-esque pictures here and there. They do offer a glimpse at memorabilia from notables like Gypsy Rose, but it's not enough to enhance the experience. It's not even really a collection, it's much smaller. I like where they're going, I just hope they get there. They need more space, more money, and more honestly.... More stuff. We picked up a couple postcards and donated a couple bucks and were on our way in less than 15 minutes.
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this very small museum/collection and look forward to when they get a bigger space. Ray at reception was incredibly well informed about burlesqueo and shared some stories of the local event and the history of the art. You could spend 5 mins or 30 depending on your interest. They also have some neat books, postcards and calendars for purchase.
google avatar

Erin W.

Yelp
We learned so much about the history of burlesque, and came away with an increased appreciation for the strength and ingenuity of the women who performed. The museum includes a great collection that was once part of Exotic World. (Look up the history of Exotic World. Fascinating.) The best part of the museum is that the people here know their history and share it with passion. Lots of fun, and we came away with immense respect for the performers.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
This is a pretty cool and unique place. Er, at least it will be. Currently, it is one very small room. There's a timeline of burlesque, a couple of costumes, and lots of pictures. There's a suggested donation of $5. They are in the process of moving across the street to a much larger space. In the new space, there will be much more to see. The staffer that was there was very pleasant and quite knowledgeable. Even if you aren't a particular fan of burlesque, it's an interesting history. And I'm really hopeful the new museum will be extra awesome. For now, if you're in the Arts District, this is worth a stop. It won't take long to go through and you'll most likely learn something.
google avatar

Kristen K.

Yelp
Amazing visit with incredible tour guide. This is so worth the trip. It is a small venue, but exquisitely crafted filled with awesome content. The tour was wonderful and the celebration of the human form and sexuality was delightful. So glad we went.
google avatar

Yelp
If you want to learn about burlesque history, this is the place for you. I've travelled a lot and been to a lot of museums, and this is among the only burlesque history places I could find. Super helpful staff. Lots of parking nearby. Accepts cash and card. Would highly recommend!!!

MaKenzie G.

Yelp
I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. My friend and I had some time to kill, and went in with low expectations. Not only was the exhibit super informative, well thought out, and planned really well, but it was also just fun to look at. The woman who was working was so knowledgable and sweet, and even talked with my friend and I, giving us local recommendations and just being super nice. Everyone should make this a priority if you are in town visiting!
google avatar

Jen K.

Yelp
This museum has only been open for a couple months in its new location, and it's a small but beautiful tribute to burlesque (note that any reviews prior to spring 2018 are for the old space, which was like 1/4 the size). They did a great job displaying burlesque costumes and props with a historical timeline, and it is truly unique in that this might be the only permanent museum of its type in the world (that I know of)! They had really cool stuff like Jayne Mansfield's pink couch and costumes from every era, and the staff who worked there were really nice and informative. They told us about the history of how the museum came together, and gave us fantastic recommendations of artsy-er and hipper places to go off the strip (such as The Golden Tiki!). They also have an interactive section where you can play around with some props and costumes and take photos as well! Def support this wonderful little spot!
google avatar

Sylvia F.

Yelp
The new location of this unique museum is a TREASURE TROVE of amazing artifacts that highlight the history of burlesque in the US and beyond. If you are visiting Las Vegas - please swing by this beautiful tribute to the art form and walk away with knowledge of those who lit the way before us for today's neo-burlesque revival. The Museum also has a wonderful gift shop with t-shirts, books, and more!
