Straight forward visit. We went in for my pup’s annual check up. We appreciate their patience and honesty. We also love that they price match medication to online pharmacies. The pricing is fair, probably in the middle to upper end. I like that they’re a full service hospital and had all the vaccinations I was looking for. (Some vets do not carry influenza for dogs.)

The facility is clean and very inviting. The staff is knowledgeable, caring and very friendly to pets and their owners. My dog loves when we board him there because they give him alot of attention. He gets very excited when we pull up to the buliding.

I cant say enough good things about this office. They deserve 100 stars. From the doctors, to the techs, assistants, reception staff, every one is compassionate and knowledgeable. I also own a dog grooming business and recommend all of my clients here. With an extensive staff that have a variety of expertise, there is the right doctor here for any need. Their new facility is top of the line!

The staff has always been so pleasant, helpful and accommodating at Burnt Hills Vet. My former dog, Oreo, saw Dr. Godin for almost 16 years and now I'm back bringing my senior rescue, Honey, to him. Dr. Godin is such an intelligent, kind, and caring vet. He explains things thoroughly and never rushes you out. Burnt Hills Vet has a lot to offer and I truly feel my pets are in the best hands at Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital.

I’ve been looking for a new vet for quite a while since I have a fearful dog. I saw good reviews everywhere about this place so I decide to give it a go. Every single person working there was so nice and kind to my dog and I. Autumn was awesome and took her time with Cosmo! I’m so thankful I gave them a chance. Finally found a vet I trust!

We changed over to Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital because of a disappointing experience with our old vet. We are greatful we did the research and found such a perfect match for us and our plethora of dogs. The vets are top notch and the staff excels at customer service.

First I need to say I have been going to this practice for 22 years. In the past few years (since they have changed hands) I have not been having the best experience. Took my 9 yo poodle there on an emergent basis after he was heaving violently. They did X-rays and determined there was "something" and kept him. After suspecting torsion (a potentially deadly condition that requires immediate surgery) they did operate that night, tacked down his intestines, and told me he would be "fine." I was having surgery the following day so could not visit him. I was told he was still heaving despite the surgery and would not eat or drink. I went to see him the following day and he looked like he was dying. No tail wag, could barely stand, panting and heaving. I stayed with him for an hour and they assured me he was "better." Spoke with the vet that night who assured me he was better and would be going home over the weekend. I asked if they ran any more tests and was told they "didn't need to" because he was "better." At 7:40 the next morning I got a call saying he had severe pneumonia from aspirating fluid and was barely breathing. It was recommended I euthanize him as even IF he lived he would have no quality of life. Of course I did that. After that heard nothing. No sympathy card. I called AND emailed asking for a bill. No bill. I finally got his ashes and a bill for $4,000.00 which of course I paid. But no card? No I'm so sorry? I also want to note that the every time I called for an update the 2 girls I spoke with gave me minimal info and acted annoyed. This used to be the place in the Capital District to go. Now it seems to be all about the money. There are some WONDERFUL, caring, compassionate people who work there and I am grateful for all the years of amazing care. I would recommend you not go here if you love your pet.

After transferring from another vet due to poor care and bad practice experience, I have been with Burnt Hills for three years now. Dr Duemler and Dr Clement have been wonderful in the care for my pup. The staff is kind and caring. My pup has had several health issues over 11+ years (pancreatic, spleen, liver, etc). The Burnt Hills team under Dr Delmer has helped keep my pup in great health given his challenges. So much so, my pup has been cleared to continue agility and other dog sports. Grateful!

Why am I giving only 4 stars? I've been taking our pets here for like 30 years. Going back to before any additions/expansions. I have always loved this place and especially DR. Keith Clements. He's the guy who (back in the day) came to our house to euthanize two of our cats. He was/is sensitive and caring. These days this can't still happen and I understand. The new expansion looks wonderful. But here's a thing...with all the modernization and extra services, there no longer is any kind of after hours emergency service. I 've been told why and I kind of get it. Vets are busy, have families and need time off. Yup. But. My vote still goes with finding some way to offer emergency services. Going to the emergency clinic in Latham does not do the job. Been there, done that. But when we needed an emergency euthanasia years ago, and could get help from a Burnt Hills doctor it was so much better than trusting strangers. Does everything have to go away for a better "business model" ? I was told that there would be a separate waiting area for felines, but there is not and the reason is that there were architectural issues making that happen. It would not take much to still make this happen. And yes, I know there are practices in place to try to minimize the stress on waiting felines and others. Great, but still. It's more a matter of remaining human, humane and caring along with modern business. I will certainly be staying with this practice as I still consider it very good. But there is a little crack in the foundation of my confidence. Time will tell.

Team, Your dedication, professionalism, love, care and understanding is one of the best qualities that stands out for me. The doctors appointment may take a while and your appointment may run late, that's all because the doctors and staff care about your pets health and no question is a "stupid" question. Knowledgeable and caring.

I like that they were able to fit me in for a sick visit that same day. The Dr. spent time with me and listened to everything I had to say. I appreciate they respect my opinion about certain health issues. They respect me and my concerns for my pet. The staff was wonderful with my very scared cat. They were gentle with her and took their time.

Dr. Clement and the vet techs were absolutely incredible. They all knew how nervous I was for my cat's first dental and made me feel so more confident about the procedure. There was clear, thorough communication (and reassurance). It's very obvious they all care so much. They treat my pets like their own. To top it off, my cat was having a hard time in the recovery cage, so one of the techs went in it and sat with him. Picture attached

Through the good times and bad he has always been the one I trusted to help me make the right/best decision for my family. There is nobody else I would rather have by my side when making those decisions. And along with Dr. Clement, a special thank you goes out to Emily, Rachele, Becki and Jenn. Puppy was spayed here 3 weeks ago and has had to go back five times for different reasons related to the spay. I'm not saying the procedure was done incorrectly, my puppy is just very sensitive and had GI upset, swelling at the incision site, and general malaise for a long time afterwards which seemed unusual. The last time I called with a problem was Sunday before Labor Day. I had sent a picture of her incision which looked infected. She was also not acting well. They suggested topical antibiotics only, which made no sense bc she was extremely lethargic which I mentioned and then was told they had no time to see her and told me to go to the emergency vet which is over 30 minutes from me. I asked to speak to someone else and a vet got on the phone who told me the same thing. I've paid them over $2200 in less than 3 weeks and feel they should have made time for the 2 minutes it took the emergency vet to say it was definitely infected and then gave us antibiotics which has cleared it right up. I read another review saying they changed hands which explains the renovations and huge price increases. I brought our other little dog for her annual appointment a month ago and was quoted over $1500 for teeth cleaning. I'm definitely getting a second opinion and am frustrated to have to find another vet after giving this place 5 stars a few years ago.

All of the staff and doctors are always so nice and helpful. I feel you all truly want to be thorough when you examine my dog.

My dog, Panda, was a last minute new client who needed emergency dental surgery. Dr. Books and her team took SUCH good care of our baby! They explained everything in details and kept us informed throughout the entire procedure. Afterwards Abby went through everything at length and gave great detailed discharged instructions. We are go grateful for the last minute flexibility Burnt Hills vet extended us :) they explained everything in great details and made us feel comfortable and heard

The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The vets have taken care of our dogs for over 25 years. We've never had a reason to question their care. It's a great practice.

I appreciated the time Dr. Godin spent with me, and his demeanor was calm and not rushed. It was honestly a more positive experience than I've had at any of my own medical providers in years. All of my family members bring their pets to BH Vet.

My pooch is a frequent flier at BH vet. The staff treats him and I like family. I thought we were going to lose him this week. Dr. Brooke stayed late to perform a life saving procedure without a second thought. Dr. Clement got him in the next day for scans even though he was totally booked. The ultrasound tech, and vet techs have always been wonderful with our dog. Jenn and Bill's care and concern are unmatched. They are a lifeline for me. Christina stopped in our room to check on us after the ultrasound of his heart came back and boy did she walk in to me being a complete mess and handled it with grace. When we went through all my dogs leg issues, Dr. Duemler was basically on speed dial. The complications he faced with my dog, you can't even make up. He met each challenge though and although it's at a slower pace, my dog is running again. I don't want to leave out the rest of the staff that has also been exceptional. Sometimes they have dealt with him on his stays, I haven't met them and they great my pooch like he is their own. Some other staff members I have become friends with and comment/check in via Facebook when my dog is struggling or they are happy to see him bouncing back. I think you would be hard pressed to find another staff that would show up for your pet like the BHV has shown up for mine. We are forever grateful for them.

No longer "the best of care for the best of friends" . Several DVMs, and techs, are wonderful, but reception, and "patient care coordinator' are lacking. I've moved on after 30+ years....

My dog is very anxious at the vet and needs some special care. Every staff member we interact with is so kind and considerate about that and help make his appointments as stress free as possible

The absolute best animal hospital ever. I have been going solely to Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital for almost 60 years, going back to when the original owner, Doc Garrison, started this practice in the 50's. They are a stellar group of people; receptionists, technicians, in-house animal hospital care, and veterinarians, etc., all working very diligently together to ensure the very best care for all animals. You can't pay people to deeply love and care for all animals like this. Dr. Chris Elson was my vet for many years and recently left to start his own practice. My cats/dogs also saw Dr. Thomas Gondek for many years who also left and started his own practice. This forced me to look for another vet and I found out very fast about the other veterinarians in this practice. My cat, Joe, was and is very sick. He needed surgery to remove benign growths on his gums and/or peripheral odontogenic fibromas. So far, I have seen almost five other veterinarians, and they have all been great. Joe has had so many different workers/vets, etc., caring for him round-the-clock and have also taken time to make Joe feel safe and content. Dr. Duemler is an excellent veterinarian who originally worked here at the hospital before becoming co-owner of the hospital in 2019. He has done a great deal for this hospital ensuring state-of-the-art technology, such as x-rays, ultrasounds, etc. He has continued the long tradition of excellence in the care of animals. It's not surprising to me that they have been voted the top veterinary hospital in the capital region. I'm staying put. Thanks so much.

Since recently moving to the area, it was my first visit to BHVH. Everyone I spoke with listened and was helpful. I appreciate the doctor taking time to answer my questions about how the practice runs. I hope to stick with them since they were recommended by 2 other greyhound owners.

BHVH has been my "go to" since the early 80s. I can ALWAYS get a same day appt. if there's an issue with any of my cats and they have always seen me immediately, day or night, on the few occasions where I've had a life-threatening emergency. The vets have always gone out of their way to give my furballs the "latest and greatest" care available, even my foster felines. Dr. Farrell was so concerned about an entire litter of foster kittens ALL getting FIP that he did a necropsy on the first casualty for free and sent the tissue samples to Cornell to help with the research on an FIP vaccine. They are especially wonderful when it's time to euthanize a beloved pet. They have a lovely room where it's quiet and you can spend all the time you need to get yourself together before you leave. I don't plan on EVER going to another vet.

We have been seeing Dr. Bev Blinn Knapp as our vet since the 90's and will follow here anywhere. She is currently seeing our third set of 2 springers and they all have lived long and full lives. Her kindness when they reach their geriatric years has been unbeatable. Dr. Blinn Knapp and her attention to my animals needs, as well as her honesty about medical issues even when it is not easy to inform

At yesterday's visit with Whiskie I felt cared about, everyone was pleasant, waiting room only had 3 patients so it was nice and calm. I loved having an evening appointment. Thanks so much for offering that. And Dr. clement.....well he's just incredibly patient, friendly, so professional and he's so smart too. He's got it all. Whiskie was so good with him. Thanks to all of you. The fact that you have enough vets and staff makes me worry less about an emergency situation (during office hours) and knowing that I'd probably be able to be seen. I have been impressed with the knowledge of the doctors.

We appreciate the time that was spent with us and the bedside manner with our pup. They have always been extremely helpful by phone and have consulted with us and consulted on concerns without bringing us in for a visit. They have also matched pricing on meds online so we can get them at our visit instead of ordering and waiting.

Dr. Gordon are both amazing vets. I saw Dr Gordon for the first time recently as I had always seen Dr. Clement in the past. Well I thought I hit the jackpot with Dr. Clement but I hit a second one with Dr. Gordon. Both vets are compassionate and knowledgable and my dogs love them. I feel they are in good hands with either vet. Dr. Gordon has treated my boys most recently and her calm and caring demeanor inspires my confidence. My only concern is the cost. I love my dogs and will pay what is necessary but the prices are high. I have to make a choice this year between my own dental work 2,000. or having my dog's teeth cleaned 1,500. and needless to say, my dog is getting his teeth cleaned. My review would have earned five stars for everything except the cost.

Wonderful care, all around. From reception to assistants to techs to Dr. Fontain. I know my little guys will always get the best and loving care.

Burnt Hills is a good 30-minute drive for us, many vets are closer by, however, we absolutely love Dr. Chris Elson and Dr. Keith Clement. Both take their time and are very thorough in the exam and explanation of options, etc. We only vaccinate what we have to and even then we break it up over the course of several weeks. They have never had a problem with that and respect our wishes. Finally, we had to let our gorgeous Saint Bernard, Gulliver, go last year due to bone cancer. I did not want the inside of the hospital to be his final experience so they set up a blanket outside, we had a beautiful view of the farm next door. Gulliver slipped away as the sun began to set. I will never be able to thank Dr. Clement enough for such a touching gesture in a truly torturous time. As long as we live here BHVH will be our vet of choice.

In my experience this is the best Animal hospital (not clinic) you could Choose; the staff is hard working, dedicated, & empathetic maximally to One's pets as well as to the families of those pets. We have worked primarily with Dr Heidi Gordon; when we are bewildered She helps clarify what is best for whatever Pet in question. She has sat with me On her own time (on break) as I wept with grief & confusion..she is our pets' ally, able To see possibility where we perhaps see Only pain. We have happy dogs & cats. When They've undergone health crises we have always been given options & Opportunities to let our animals live as long & as healthily as possible. Because BHVH is a hospital, surgeries & optional therapies are available. The surgeons are very Knowledgeable & gifted. No matter What, I know for sure that, if I must leave my dog or cat in the care of These vets, assistants, techs They will be cared & tended as best As humanly possible. I have Never regretted my decision. These guys are family owned. (Dr Matt Duemler owner.). It is not the common corporate owned Clinic. The whole experience is therefore Different in an affirmative way. Financial decisions can be made with Aid of those individuals in charge of Such matters; empathy & discretion here, as well, is palpable. We were so impressed by the professionalism & kindness we kept coming back. Now we live 15 minutes driving away, a good thing, Our family has grown with rescues & frankly I'm here often . We had a fancy white rat years ago ( Paka -- she came to her name, played with our dogs) & when she had Pneumonia the veterinarian most Proficient with small animals kept an eye On her. I am delighted to let anyone know of our discovery. I'm sixty years old, I've cared Deeply for animals through my life; Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital is by Far the best place I've landed. I deeply appreciate their Fear Free Certification. They have pheromone scented towels and bandannas to comfort fearful pets, and they use peanut butter and treats to ease treatments. The doctors and techs are highly skilled, kind and gentle.

I appreciate burnt hills vet taking the time to respond. I detailed our visit, simply to bring an awareness. All we ever heard was very good things about this vet, we were excited and nervous and the knowledge and support from burnt hills vet staff was beyond inadequate. Even the phone etiquette, when we called about the xray not being on the disc. A receptionist named Brittany hung up on us! The experience we received was not on par. We left thinking our dog was in peril, and potentially dead puppies, with no suggestions on how to care for her or what the next steps were. Of course we called for a second opinion! Our dog was pregnant and we are blessed to have found a Vet, who not only welcomed and accepted us and our pit bull but also took the time and energy to make us feel wonderful about this entire pregnancy experience. We recently welcomed 14 happy and healthy pups! Im disappointed that burnt hills vet didnt live up to the high reviews. As you so kindly put- sometimes its just not the right fit.

I went there to get a bump on my difficult young dogs face looked at. The vet was afraid to approach my dog as my dog can be difficult. It was decided that he would be put out and the bump would then be looked at under a microscope and decided if he needed surgery. They decided that he needed surgery and I ended up spending $900 for the surgery and some other testing. I received the results in the mail stating the bump is non cancerous and "common in young dogs". It has left me wondering if it is so common in young dogs why couldn't they recognize it without doing an expensive surgery. With so many vets there and specialized staff I felt like my dog was treated as a number instead of an important patient.

Please bring your pets somewhere else! *I understand this is a personal concern and hopefully is an outlier situation.* SparkNote Version: -Lack of communication between vets on site. -Lack of communication between site and referred specialists. -Lack of knowledge of pet's chart on a regular basis (was not read several times) -Lack of pro-active care/testing in concern to a lump: ending up being cancerous. (WE had to request surgery/examinations/paperwork) -Lack of empathy or urgency when calling in case of emergency/ need information. -Pharmacy policy that doesn't call when prescriptions are filled; you just come when you think they're ready or in 24 hours (?) Pro: We brought our young 3 year old healthy dog for his checkups annually here twice- which were fine, and went very smoothly! Cons: However once we came to him having a cyst/lump on his side- every aspect of communication and pro-active care went downhill. We took him 2-3 times over the course of 4 months (November 2019-February 2020) for this changing, growing cyst and each time fluid was taken and tested briefly: were told that "it is something puppies get and it will just fall off" by various vets on site. Finally, after weeks of watching this lump change, grow and eventually pus and bleed...it very clearly was NOT "just going to fall off" and WE HAD TO REQUEST the removal surgery in March 2020 (This was not a pro-active suggestion from the doctors- we had to ASK for them to complete this task) Once lab results came back- we are told the cyst DID in fact have signs of being cancerous ...after months of being told it wasn't, and twice having fluid "tested" from it. Once the lump/cyst was "removed completely" , we were told to keep the area clean, and nothing further was needed until his August annual check-up. His check-up in August 2020, as always, was smooth sailing- "he has great teeth, could lose a pound or two but overall healthy boy!". Fast forward to this past November 2020, he was taken in for breathing issues, fatigue, not eating the same- I was told it was probably just bronchitis or some kind of infection, and a lung lavage was ordered to be sure. Every visit I had to remind the vet in charge to LOOK at the chart at his prior cyst and surgical history, the fact that his was overlooked is deeply concerning. As lab results came back and X-rays- we were told the sample and clouds in his lungs "looked to be cancerous and he had 3-6 months to live". ***We were DEVASTATED. How is is possible this dog that was "healthy" in August...is now going to be gone in 3 months? HOW?*** We then asked for contact information for a specialist and began the "next steps." We missed two appointments with specialists in November and December 2020 because Burnt Hills Vets hadn't approved the paperwork sent over and multiple vets were out of contact or not able to read his chart/send his chart. This took over 2 weeks. We had to bring him in for breathing issues again in December after an issue that prescription was filled and we were NEVER contacted that it was ready- going 3 days without medicine. (Their policy is "If you called it in- we'll have it in a few hours or you can come the next day: No other pharmacy works this way) We also had to EXTEND our medicine to cover wait time on his appointment- eventually getting a Specialist appointment over 2 months since his "diagnosis" in November which in the end would be too late. Eventually, on January 17th, we were forced to travel to a specialist on an Emergency basis...our poor buddy still just couldn't breathe regularly, and had to make the decision to let him go peacefully with no more pain. We never imagined having to let him go in August- when we were told he was healthy as ever...Or March, when we were told they "removed everything" with the lump...Or in November, a year ago when we were told his lump was "just something puppies get and would fall off". It was heartbreaking and soul crushing and the big question for us was "Could this have been avoided with better veternairy care?" I understand this is a personal journey that will not connect with everyone- I understand that COVID has caused delays in appointments AND I sincerely HOPE it is an outlier situation. But please advise; if your dog requires anything BEYOND an annual check-up: PLEASE go to another location- I would be heartbroken for anyone else to lose their best friend due to a lack of communication of humans. My family deserved more time with our pup, and so does yours! Thank you

I really was hopeful about this practice. I was there many times with my aging doberman, and they were great. Brought my other two dogs there for care as well, and always had a good visit and really liked the hospital. All the vets I had contact with were helpful and patient. Then I heard the staff at the front counter telling clients at the counter that they NEED to buy heartworm and flea and tick prevention. That is up to the client, not the vet. I made an appointment for my dog to get x-rays and start filling out the consent form. Turns out they want my dog up to date on distemper (not required by law), an up-to-date fecal exam, and heartworm screening. Again, things that people should be deciding for their pets themselves and not have a vet REQUIRE these things. It is called pumping up the bill. I'm more worried about paying for the x-rays, not an unnecessary fecal exam! Dr. Falls then called me to tell me that this is their way of encouraging standard of care and if I think they're only about the money, it's not a good relationship. SO much for customer care and service. My dogs are well cared for, and live well past their prime. I don't need to be told to get heartworm preventative or flea and tick preventative, never mind a fecal exam for a healthy animal. That IS about finances. I am very disappointed, but this is what happens when vets become more business minded than care minded.

Dr. Heidi Gordon us beyond amazing. She absolutely puts our dogs needs first and meets them on their level. Our timid rescue had a very hard time adjusting to a world where being cared for him. Dr. Gordon understood his every need. She is amazing, patient and caring. He LOVES her now.

Do not bring your dog here if he is sick. Over the course of two years. I spent thousands on tests, ultrasounds, x-rays and they were never able to diagnose my dog's issue. Over that time, he deteriorated and started having seizures. This week, he was panting very badly and seemed to be in pain, so bad I took him to the emergency room. They did bloodwork and an ultrasound. His bloodwork was normal, but they found a mass in his belly. The following day, I took him to Burnt Hills to aspirate and biopsy the mass. Instead, they told me they could do surgery to remove it and it would buy him more time. Note, we didn't even know if it was malignant yet. At no point did any of these great vets point out how lethal anesthesia could be to a dog that has seizures. I knew this, but was sleep deprived and not thinking clearly. They successfully remove the mass, so I guess they get credit for that. But is it a success if the patient dies? Not to me and definitely not to my baby boy. The day after the surgery, five hours after being released from their hospital, my little boy had a grand mal seizure that he could not recover from. I raced him to the emergency room and they tried everything to get him to come out of it. After seizing for over an hour, I had to let him go. He did not deserve to suffer anymore. He was the sweetest, gentlest, most loving little dog and he died a violent horrific death. Now I get to work to pay off the $2,200 vet bill for the surgery that would kill my little boy 5 hours after I got him home. And his last night on earth was spent alone in a hospital instead of at home with me. I never even got a chance to say goodbye. I will regret ever stepping into this veterinary office until the day I die. Update in response to the office's comment and a phone call I got from them: 1 - Just to be clear so there is no confusion, this vet did NOT refer me anywhere. Gramps was a patient at Upstate Veterinary Specialties long before being a client at their office because he had issues with dry eyes. 2 - I took him to Cornell because Burnt Hills had him on meds I didn't think he needed to be on. They did not refer me there. 3 - I am disgusted at how this office has handled his death. They have tried to twist the story and are doing it again by implying they referred him somewhere for help. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. 4 - One of their vets called me this week and had the gall to make up health problems my dog did not have. He told me my dog had kidney, liver, and heart disease. Please sir, show me the documentation on this from your office. There is none. What a sick and horrible thing to do. My dog died from being under anesthesia and being dehydrated while under your care. Don't you dare make up a bunch of lies to cover for that. So in addition to them being irresponsible with my dog's life, now they are liars as well.

Words can not explain how much I HATE Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital. I've done nothing but talk that place up and refer people all for something that was supposed to be an awesome experience to turn into the worst experience of my life. On Wednesday my dog started showing signs she was going into labor which was 10-15 days early she was due July 16-19th. I brought her to the vet because I didn't know if she was going to be able to have her pups naturally the vet was still unsure because of her breed it's a 30 percent chance French bulldogs can deliver naturally (which she did amazing) at the appointment I was told she was not going into labor and was right on schedule for her due date and that all signs she was showing was her "normal self" I assured the vet that was not her normal self he brushed me off and told me nothing to worry about I can assure you you are not gonna have puppies right now everything is right on track. Don't you know not even 12 hours later my dog is having her puppies. I called the vet as soon as the first one was born asked if I should call back after the second one was delivered they told me NO not unless there are complications I am not a professional nor am I a vet and this was my first experience - which my vet knew. This is what I pay and go to you for ! So I let that go - I called them the next day to schedule an appointment for momma and pups because 24 hours after delivery they are all supposed to be seen. I let the doctor know how she was doing I explained everything that happened how the pups were he said everything sounds great and she sounds like she's a great momma. And that I didn't need to bring them in until 8 weeks... I questioned him because all my research said they needed to be seen 24 hours after delivery. Again he assured me there was no need for him to see them this early. So my dog who went into labor 2 weeks early not knowing if it was okay to deliver naturally and you don't wanna do a check up? That is like a human giving birth to a premature baby at high risk and the doctor saying oh no I don't need to see you guys till 8 weeks. The next day I find myself, my cousin and my 2 friends performing cpr on a poor 3 day old helpless puppy. I call the vet I ask them to please send someone to me and they wouldn't mind you I have a 4 year old a dog who just gave birth and another little puppy that I'm just supposed to leave? And drive 30 mins away with a poor helpless dying puppy. So We rush him to the vet for them to tell me he has a cleft pallet and there was nothing more they could do for him he passed. They handed me my puppy in a box and told me Sorry we didn't have a smaller box and this visit is free of charge. Are you fucking kidding me do you think I care about the size of the box or price?! I care that I took all the steps that I was supposed to do and I was brushed off and told they didn't need to be seen when this all could of been prevented if they did there JOB and examined my puppies the day before. How about offer to bring my other puppy in for an exam immediately! Never was offered. I sat up all night waiting for this vet to open to talk to the vet or management. The doctor gets on the phone and told me unfortunately a puppy with a cleft pallet would have to be Euthanize either way. BULLSHIT I said to him I stayed up all night doing research and that puppy could of lived - so you're telling me babies who are born with cleft pallet are Euthanized??? NO there are special precautions and surgery's you can take to help the puppy and I would of paid and done whatever to give that puppy a chance to live. I was not in this for money I am not a dog breeder it was a total accident my dog getting pregnant. Alls I wanted out of this whole experience was my dog and pups to be safe and well taken care of. Alls he could tell me is he's so sorry. Sorry isn't fucking good enough had you of done you're job I wouldn't be dealing with this Traumatic experience if you saw the pups like you were supposed to you would of done an exam 24 hours after delivery and realized he had a cleft pallet and I could at least say I did everything to give him a chance to live. Please If you bring you're babies here think twice they clearly need an update on there education. I'm so crushed and devastated that I have to write this. RIP to my sweet little baby Odin I had to put a star or it would be ZERO

Robin the Receptionist is rude, short, and makes the entire experience with Dr. Gordon (who is amazing), awful. She comes across as very bitchy plus no thank you to the customer.

I had tons of issues with this place after being a loyal client for years, including Dr Elson doing a $1500 surgery on my 13 yr old cat without my knowledge or consent, then "discounting" the bill $100. Add insult to injury, thanks. The next time was making a euthanasia appointment for my beloved dog and then having to wait over 2 hours for him to be seen by the dr. Last straw was yesterday, when they refused to see my moms dog when she blew her ACL even though the hospital was still open. Receptionist on the phone kept on calling her an "IT" and told me to call back in the morning as this injury isn't considered an emergency (even though the dog was clearly in pain). Guess they were worried they might have to work past 5pm on a Saturday. would give zero stars if i could.

Dr. Matthew Duemler is all about the money. The quality of care of our pets, the quality of the facility and customer care have been on a steady decline for the past couple of years. Receptionists are rude, do not return calls or pass along messages. The doctor is truly kind and understanding and will have you believe it's a problem he will resolve, yet the problems continue. Equipment in the exam rooms is worn out or just broken. The table in some rooms does not lift anymore, none of the scales in the rooms work so they have a scale in the end corner of the hall (hasn't been cleaned since installed). The waiting area has a very sour odor, urine, the actual rest room is something to avoid. Dr. Matthew Duemler is an owner who refuses to invest in facilities, equipment, or quality help. What you get at Burnt Hills Veterinary is mediocre service, outdated equipment, run down building and TOP OF THE LINE PRESTIGES PRICING. Yes, you will pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars and receive a penny worth of care. For the sake of your pet go elsewhere as we did. This is my second negative review the first time the nice Doctor asked me to remove because he was in the process of improving customer and pet care. THIS REVIEW WILL STAY AND I WILL SHARE MY STORIES WITH EVERYONE I CAN.

Where do I begin on how to review Dr. Gordon? Her expertise, her passion and overall desire to help my dogs was tremendous. It is easy to see that Dr. Gordon is a vet who puts animal needs first and she quickly develops a positive rapport with them. I knew my dogs were in good hands because she was able to take the time needed to explain in concrete detail what she diagnosed, answer my many questions, provide me with further information, create next steps and a solid treatment plan that has worked. Another valuable and impressive quality I noticed about Dr. Gordon was her willingness to consult with the other specialists when needed in order to create the best possible treatment for my dogs. Additionally I experienced other vets consulting with Dr. Gordon for her diagnosis. Dr. Heidi Gordon's advice and knowledge is not only impressive but extremely invaluable. You know you've found a wonderful vet when your dogs are excited to visit!

I'm absoulty discussed with this VET.... If i could give a NO STAR I WOULD!!! My pup was hurt in the eye and i had to make an appointment that day and it was by far hours to get an appointment. When i made the appointment i was told that my dog will be squeezed in. I understood and waited over an hour. Today was my pups follow up appointment that was scheduled for 4pm. As i arrived at 3:36 and as i wait there were 5 other dogs that came in after i checked in. One for a fact was an appointment made today because the dog was not feeling well. Well the dog was brought back before my SCHEDULED appointment. At 4:05pm i went to the desk and asked why are all the dogs and cats being seen before my scheduled appointment? The rude girl at the desk kept saying what what.... I said i will wait 5 more min and as i sat down another lady walked in and checked in and guess what yup you got it her dog was called back before my dog. I walked up to the desk and said I"M OUT OF HERE!!!!! The staff is so rude and the way they treat me as a customer is UNPROFESIONAL!!!! I have been mistreated by the staff for years. Im so disappointed!!!! To make matters worse my husband called and Sara explained to him some pets are there for nail clipping and or different doctors. They don't have 6 different doctors on site and what was the excuse the dog that came in today with out an appointment and the lady that brought in her cat????? I had an appoinment and 6 others were brought back. Even if all had a 4pm appointment they came after my check in. Stephanie Burns

I use Burnt Hills Vet for both boarding and care for my dog and cats. I must say I am very pleased with both services. My dog and cats get great care from the Vets. When I board my dog he normally hates being away from home but when I pick him up from there his tail is wagging. That indicates to me he had a good time. They also gave him a complementary bath and he loved it. Also on another note I have had to deal with losing a pet and let me say they are very compassionate and caring. They really understand the loss of a pet. Standing in the reception area crying my eyes out (embarrassing moment #253 in my life) they really were very caring.
