I was staying at a local hotel, which didn't have a restaurant, so looked online and saw Burnt Toast a block away with good reviews so went to try it for brunch. I was not disappointed. The place is a small cozy diner style with a nice local vibe. Service was very friendly and good if not overly fast. It's not the type of place you go if you are in a hurry (unless you do takeout). I decided on the Pulled pork breakfast skillet. It was delicious with tasty pork, crisp potatoes and an interesting mix of veggies, chipotle, cheese and gravy with 2 poached eggs. It came with 4 pieces of toast. It was very filling to say the least. I would definitely like to go back to try their french toast. Definitely recommend for a brunch stop if you are in Whitehorse.

Google
Our AIRBNB property had a 'places to try' booklet. BURNT TOAST was recommended for breakfast lunch AND dinner. We thought that was suspicious, lol. We ended up going because our first and second choices weren't even open for breakfast or lunch. It's a very comfy cafe! The service is top-notch, very friendly. The menu has generous choices, and both of our meals were delicious. We liked how the ambience was unique, and not some run-of-the-mill decor. The tables are all different and very cool, the chairs are comfy, the warm decor made this a very at-home feel. The place was packed when we got there so we needed to wait until people left in order to take pics. And another thing? We loved the music..... we had Auto-Shazam on so came home with some new favorites. So yes, we would actually go there for breakfast, lunch AND dinner!! :)

Google
Delightful brunch spot in Whitehorse. Highly recommend. I had the Croque Madam and my friend had the Veggie Eggs Bennie. The hash potatoes are scrumptious too. Great selection of food and drinks. Would definitely go back whilst we are in town.

Google
This was an exceptional cafe. Local, fresh ingredients, above average presentation, and knowledgeable servers. All drinks and food are an upgrade of any experience we have had on our month long Alcan adventure. I ordered the Croque Madam breakfast (5) that comes with just right slightly crisped potato chunks. My husband ordered a classic breakfast (someone who usually wants a more greasy spoon local establishment) and said this was a 5 and he would come all the time if he lived here!

Google
Everything was fantastic, Maples Bangers and hash for breakfast was really good. Atmosphere was great. Service outstanding, very busy this morning, they kept everyone's coffee cup full. Thanks for everything great price as well.

Google
The exterior of the restaurant isn't particularly inviting, but the interior has a warm and cozy atmosphere. I ordered the English breakfast, but unfortunately, it was disappointing—the eggs were overly greasy, the sausages were undercooked, and the toast was oddly flat, as if it had been pressed in a panini grill. The coffee was just average, though the tea and potatoes were tasty. Service was middle ground; the server (who seemed to be the same blonde woman mentioned in another review) wasn’t rude but wasn’t especially welcoming either. She didn’t check in on how the food was or if we needed anything, and she brought the bill before asking if we wanted anything else. Overall, we’ve had much better breakfast experiences during our visit to Whitehorse, and I’d recommend exploring other options in the area before going to the Burnt Toast Cafe

Google
The croissant french toast was 👌🏼. This was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. My dad also loved what he ordered. It was so good we came back again the next day, before we left town. The only downside is there's just one small bathroom. They ran out of hand soap and refilled it with water.

Google
Had a delicious breakfast sandwich on our way out of Whitehorse. The place was packed, which speaks for itself. Even though it was busy, it didn't take long to get our food. Our waitress was attentive & kept our coffee mugs & water glasses full! There is a decent amount of indoor seating, considering it is not a large place. It's kid-friendly. I noticed some young couples in the restaurant with children. There appeared to be highchairs & books available for little ones. It is street parking. We didn't have an issue on Sunday morning. We were there close to opening time. There were some nice options on the menu with good variety. The potatoes were to die for!

Yelp
We were hungry and exhausted from staying up too late to see the lights and getting up early for outdoor adventures. We wandered into Burnt Toast, and enjoyed the best grilled cheese and tomato soup lunch ever. Bennys for breakfast another day were top notch too. Excellent staff too. Perfect fuel for cold weather adventuring--don't miss if you're in Whitehorse!

Yelp
Cute spot to stop in while wandering around the town. My fiancé and I shared the butter chicken and rice (warm and hearty) and I got an Irish cream coffee. Great service as well, and their other menu options looked delicious!

Yelp
Nice breakfast place. Food was excellent! Service was good. Nice ambiance. Open at 7:30am. There was line. Got us in quickly.

Yelp
For a chic kind of bistro, The food here was unbelievable. The crew were extra friendly. Almost like visiting family. They really take the time to see to it you're satisfied. We got here just in time for lunch and liked it so much we got up and had breakfast the next day! If you don't order the maple bangers breakfast, make sure someone in your party does so you can bum a taste. Then kick yourself for having not ordered them. They're seriously that good. Lunch was a smash as we split a poutine, Reuben and the BARON of BEEF! The portions are big and the prices reasonable. If your fortunate enough to have Megan serve you, your coffee and water will stay topped off! 08/22

Yelp
It looks touristy and the wait time to be seated was pretty long and they ended breakfast before we were even able to be seated don't go to this place
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
It was very crowded-usually a good sign. The food was just ok- the sausage was overcooked. None of us were really happy with our meal-but it did the job.
google avatar

Neo V.

Yelp
Really good quaint place. Small, good service, food tastes great and great service! Had the English Breakfast with sausage and home fries, gluten-free toast. Recommend you try this place. Everything else on the menu looked good as well.

Yelp
Another rainy day means I get to spend a little more time looking for a place with a hearty meal and some good vibes. We found Burnt toast while searching for some breakfast places and looked the menu so we thought we'd give it a try. It was already pretty busy when we got here but the staff addressed us right away when you stepped inside. The walls are painted black so I'm curious to know how dark and gloomy it gets in the winter given there didn't seem to be too many light fixtures. We were seated close to the window and quickly browsed through the menu. I decided on the Croque madam while my sister ordered the lox and bagel. Croque madam came with 2 massive pieces of sourdough bread. There's actually an option to order a petite Croque which is just less bread. I regret not getting that instead... That's okay I ended up going for a really long walk after. Anyway, the bread was nicely soaked in egg then grilled with some cheese and peameal bacon in between the layers. Not sure if the chef forgot or the bread was just abnormally large but there was only enough bacon to cover half the sandwich. I showed the waitress and she was kind enough to get me another piece. It was a solid CM but I wouldn't say it was spectacular. The lox was fresh, and not overly smoked or salty. The bagel is apparently from Bullethole bakery across the street! It was quite dense and tasty. I would have preferred it a bit toasted but my sister liked it the way it was. The other items smelled and looked pretty good when I peeked at other tables. Seemed like people were enjoying their drinks as well.

Yelp
We visited on recommendation as a local breakfast spot. The Burnt Toast logo is very recognizable and we spotted it easily. We were greeted fairly quickly by the staff and seated not too long after. I ordered the lox bagel ($17). It was fine. The bagel itself was tough and chewier than expected. I believe the bagel was from Bullet Hole Bagels nearby. There were lots of capers, and an okay amount of lox. I prefer lox served as full slices rather than what seemed like torn up bits. The homemade boursin was delicious and the greens brought the dish together well. We enjoyed a little respite from the rain but decided there were other options in town for our next meal.

Yelp
Great vide, good food, friendly service. Brunch selections and drinks were plentiful.

Yelp
I am a breakfast, I eat out a lot but breakfast might be my fav. Not sure why but I just like it. Anyways this place is great for it! The service is amazing, so friendly and fast. The skillet / scramble or whatever I had was super tasty and filling. If you are in Whitehorse check it out for sure for breakfast one morning!

Yelp
Stumbled in here for breakfast on a Saturday at 12pm. Locally sourced ingredients and small well executed menu left us pretty satisfied. I had the smoked salmon scramble and my hot girlfriend had the half croque madame. Both delicious! Accompanied with a spicy Caesar and mimosa, we really enjoyed our brunch. Didn't take photos, we were too hungry

Yelp
Excellent breakfast. Had the Cowboy Scramble and Bangers breakfast. Potatoes crispy and tasty.

Yelp
We drove all the way to Whitehorse from Skagway, AK as part of a cruise shore excursion. Our plan was to have lunch and then drive back. We were rather surprised to find not a lot of sit-down, non-chain restaurants there. Yelp helped us out though and we made the walk to Burnt Toast and we are glad we did. The dining room is small and the staff is clearly busy as well as small. A table was cleared in some minutes and we were seated with menus already on the table and water brought shortly. We were all quite pleased with our meals and oddly enough the side salad with my son's Cuban sandwich was perhaps the show-stealer. My wife and I both had huevos rancheros and it was excellent. The home fries were incredible. I was full but couldn't help but polish off those left by my other child. We asked for hot sauce for our huevos and the server was nice enough to say that the only option was Sriracha sauce but that it worked surprisingly well. She was right; it tasted great.

Yelp
This place was busy even on a Wednesday. I found the menu to be quite limited and food to be just okay. I guess it's more of a weekend brunch spot than a lunch place. There were no dairy free substitutes for coffee and i didn't find the food to be filling enough.

Betty P.

Yelp
We had the best breakfast I've had anywhere in my travels. The vegetarian scramble was outstanding. They definitely have a talented cook. And the service and ambience were great. We will be back to try this restaurant for dinner!.

Yelp
Best place in town for brunch. Love the Italian Bowl. Great coffee and great service. Locally owned with a local vibe.

Yelp
Went there on a recommendation from the tour guide and we were very glad we did! The place was packed at lunch and Megan advised us there would be a 15 minute wait, which is not a big deal. In those 15 mins, she came to us twice to give us updates. Being in the service industry I enjoy watching others work their craft and trust me this is a SUPERBLY well run establishment. With a full capacity, the two servers at the front and the two kitchen staff pumped out fantastic food at a very impressive pace! Their signature burnt toast coffee is delicious and all three of us enjoyed our meals (I had their Classic Reuben). I later found out that Megan is the restaurant Manager-I can see why as she was completely in control and ensured she "touched" each table even though she was quite busy. THANK YOU MEGAN If I could give your restaurant 7 stars, I would!

Yelp
Great food for great prices! Very friendly staff as well. We were visiting Whitehorse for the weekend and were very happy with this for our first Yukon meal

Jesse H.

Yelp
Good breakfast, had the cowboy scramble eggs and wheat toast and No it wasn't burnt... coffee is exceptionally good, it's there own blend. Great place.

Tarahn H.

Yelp
Between the wait staff and the food this place is the bomb!! Hard to get into sometimes but we'll worth the wait
google avatar

Tom J.

Yelp
The wife and I split the burger and fries. Very good and plenty for the both of us. Place is small and easily overlooked, but came recommended by locals and was a great place for lunch.
google avatar

Mark E.

Yelp
We arrived too late for breakfast, unfortunately. We all ended up having a very nice lunch (although they didn't have sauerkraut for my wife's Reuben) our food and our waitress was very good. The downside? VERY popular (like too few tables popular) and as we were finishing our meals a mouse came the direction of the kitchen and headed under the washroom door! Hopefully this mouse just needed to wash its hands....

CP C.

Yelp
This was one of the recommendations by our land cruise director. Service and food was.delightful. I ordered the croque madam which I had heard of but never actually had, delicious.
google avatar

Ben J.

Yelp
Dark coffee and friendly service characterize this joint. We had two of their most popular dishes and they delivered.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Food was good quality and well-prepared, if a little slow, but service was lacking. They were busy, but seemed very disorganised. We took the last table in the restaurant at the window and were cooked by the sun in 10 min, had to move, over the objections of the server. Why not just get the owner to put up some blinds or curtains for the comfort of the guests? Servers very distracted, ended up having to go hunting for my own jam for my toast in the middle of the meal. Offered lots of coffee refills, which was nice.
google avatar

Kristina M.

Yelp
I have visited Burnt Toast twice and I haven't been disappointed. The food is always great here, they serve delicious local coffee, and the service is very quick and friendly. I love that there is no wifi!
google avatar

Yelp
The meal was ok I mean it was not bad just did not find the sausage to be as tasty as advertised. The eggs where prepared beautifully
google avatar

Elizabeth Ann S.

Yelp
Yum - very good- a great surprise for the Yukon city of Whitehorse. Took the Grandkids for brunch while on holiday and everyone ate their brunch with gusto. Pricing is very reasonable! A great end of the experience.

Tim W.

Yelp
Great coffee! Their brunch on a Saturday morning before beginning our drive out of the Yukon to AK was perfect. It satisfied the teenagers and the adults.
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed in Whitehorse for about a week for vacation as I've never been and wanted to go potentially see some northern lights. I didn't get to see the northern lights, but found this awesome breakfast and brunch place. The burnt toast was a super cute, trendy and good vibe kind of place. Everytime that I went here for breakfast, I got good service and yummy super delicious breakfast and brunch. Their coffee is so fresh it was what got me up each day and started my day off. I would definitely recommend anyone whose in Whitehorse to check out this little cute restaurant situated right downtown Whitehorse. Very cute place where many local Yukoners visit.
google avatar

Daphne C.

Yelp
We had brunch here during our family trip to Yukon last weekend. My husband and I tried their best seller: Wild Game Sub partnered with Yukon coffee and it was delicious. It was our first time trying Bison and Elk meat and it was flavorful. I loved their coffee too.
google avatar

Meghan B.

Yelp
Tried this place for dinner and it was really good. We got there a bit closer to closing time, and the atmosphere was pretty relaxed, which was nice. I had the Wild Game potato skins and a Caesar salad, which had some of the best croutons I've ever had. It would have been nice if they had had a kids menu, but the small salads satisfied the kids just fine. If you're looking for a relaxed meal with interesting choices, this is a good place to try out.

Yelp
Easily the best eggs benny I have ever had. I'm not sure why we haven't eaten here more often, but that's going to change for sure. Looking forward to trying more than just breakfast here in the near future.

Frank S.

Yelp
Food is fantastic and the service is exceptional, as well as great coffee. I always stop to eat when passing through, very well worth the 5 minute drive off the Alaska Hwy.

Mark B.

Yelp
Lots of variety. Good value. Friendly staff. Foods for the most part very good, had a few disappointments. But the good out way the bad.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Well recommended by our tour company so we popped in for lunch. Did not start off on the best foot. We walked in, servers were busy and eventually one stopped by to ask how many in our party. She quickly cleared off the table that was in front of the door, but did leave the existing glass water jug. I'm not a germaphobe but stuff like this when you're not even going to pretend to give me a fresh bottle really grosses me out. After that I was obviously hesitant to enjoy myself, we quickly ordered, ate and left. Food was fine, had two sandwiches and fries, no complaints there.
google avatar

Kylie C.

Yelp
Such tasty food and good service. I've had a salad, pulled pork Poutine and it's divine. Can't get rather crazy busy though sometimes
google avatar

Tianna F.

Yelp
Refreshing hidden gem next door to an overblown spot. Atmosphere was chic and lovely. We enjoyed our dinner so much we came back for breakfast the next day.

Yelp
We arrived around 12:30 on a Monday afternoon and the place was hoping. After a brief wait, we were seated by a Cool chick who treated us like regulars. After perusing the hip and trendy menu-truffle fries, fun panini, hip names, I settled on the Becky Sandwich which I learned is the namesake of my very own server. I had to enter truffle fry territory since, well I just can't resist that crazy good flavour! My sandwich and fries hit the spot big time! The sandwich had arugula, bacon, tomato, Asiago, truffle aioli-I might have an addiction but I'm not looking for a cure;) All was fresh hot and delish! I would def come back again'

Hal R.

Yelp
A pleasant stop with cheerful service, fresh ingredients and a skilled kitchen crew. Arrived solo at 11:00 on a busy Sunday morning, took a seat at the bar rather than wait for a table. Ordered Huevos Rancheros after one cup of coffee and finished one more before breakfast was served. Good food served reasonably quickly for a busy restaurant. The café was closed Saturday evening August 31 although Yelp! had posted later hours. I learned they close at 2PM, not 2100. Probably worth checking business hours if your schedule is inflexible.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
A great little place for eats. Had the Lox and Bagel. Not the best i have ever had but the salmon was sure the star. A rustic and friendly place and a good atmosphere. Very much worth a visit when in town. I found the servers very friendly and proffesional, quick on the draw and efficient. Regarding my meal, I prefer purple onion on a Bagel and Lox and I like a bit more cream cheese than they gave but overall it was good. I am also pleased they take Amex. One of the few places around that does! Pardon my keyboard is gimped so no return key.
google avatar

Sophia H.

Yelp
Delicious! Great lunch place! Love the truffle fries and grilled cheese sandwich options.
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
Great place to grab breakfast/brunch. I had the Eggs Florentine and probably cleared my plate in 5 - 10 minutes. It was SO good. The hollandaise wasn't super heavy like most places I've been to, where I find myself sitting with a full belly and hating myself with my decision of ordering that plate. My boyfriend had the Huevos Rancheros and he said it was tasty too. Cool decor, neat place. Good service and food. I'd go back again if I was in Whitehorse.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
Not bad but not someplace I would visit again or suggest. The atmosphere itself is nice, the staff nice but the food was eh and expensive. I ordered the guacamole grilled cheese. It really was something anyone could make at home on a panni maker and would probably add more cheese and guac.
google avatar

Olivia B.

Yelp
We came here twice while visiting Whitehorse on a recommendation. Once for Sunday breakfast and again for lunch. The staff were great and got you coffee straight away. The meals are huge and such good value. For breakfast I got the Holly Skillet which was roasted potatoes (they call them hash browns), poached eggs and cheese all covered with hollandaise and a side of toast. For lunch I got the pulled pork sandwich which was so good! It was just meat and cheese and paid a little extra and got half fries half salad as a side. This place is a jack of all trades, I would come back here for any meal!
google avatar

Colleen B.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast and good service. They are slammed from the moment they opened but even so we got everything we asked for and out did in a timely manner. I had the Bagel and lox and the sauce was really good.
google avatar

Mandy G.

Yelp
Omg, everything we ate we raved about. Coffee is excellent, menu is stacked and the service es friendly and fast.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Extremely high quality food. I was tempted to give them five stars for the food alone. The service was about three stars, so I'll settle on four stars. Started things off the humble salad, adding goat cheese. The maple balsamic vinaigrette sent what would have been a very good salad into excellent salad territory. I could have eaten three of these. For main course, I had the elk & blueberry sausage. This comes with an ample amount of dijon mustard which is better with the mashed potatoes than the sausage. The mashed potatoes were the kind with the good texture - potatoes that had been mashed just enough to be called mashed, and no more. The sausage was great, but the real standout was the daily vegetable, which was kai-lan aka chinese broccoli, with an olive oil pepper sauce. Service was about average, but I have a feeling that they were short-staffed when I visited, so I don't fault them for that. The pricing was about average for the region, and an absolute steal based on the quality of the food. There was a long line at the Klondike Rib & Salmon BBQ next door, which I also researched, but I'm happy I decided to go with Burnt Toast instead. I'd definitely go back here.
