Burrow Bar

We had such a great time at Burrow Bar. Our bartender for the night, Valo, was so amazing~ I personally had a few cocktails I had never had but always wanted to try and when I asked he was so kind and made adjustments for us :) If you ever have a chance to stop by the espresso martini is a MUST HAVE. Its made with vietnamese coffee so if you’re a coffee lover like me it’ll be a dream. We’re only in Sydney for a trip so we visited on a Tuesday but would reccommend to come any other day so you can catch Valo!

I highly recommend visiting this bar for a drink or several! The manager and his team are absolutely lovely, friendly, and helpful. We had a wonderful time at this bar! The beer is delicious, and so is the wine! We will definitely be back very soon ! From the two frenchies. Thank you again ! ;)

Great atmosphere and cocktails- Cheeky Devil is first and mezcal based! The tartare was very delicious. The door is the one with 1960 above it... Review 666 😈

Quaint Sydney basement bar with superb service! Interesting selections of cocktails. Happy hour (even on Sunday!) drinks include wine and beer.

I wish there were more photos to justify our experiences here :) We have really enjoyed our experience finding this hidden bar tucked away - and got curious about the Vietnamese food on the menu where we decided to order some with the drinks to try out and it was one of the best Vietnamese fried rice we have ever tried! The drinks were also lovely - dessert was also super refreshing… and the service from all staff were amazing at this place. Cannot recommend enough!

fine enough 'speakeasy'. it is not located inside the restaurant Cash Only Diner. Go around the right side of the diner and its the first alleyway on the left. Staff is just ok, they seem uninterested in you or what you like to drink. The brunette waitress (in foto) seemed to be the only one chatting up customers and being friendly.

Was here on Saturday night 1/11 after dinner. My partner and I sat at the bar and the bartender (who said he lives in Newtown.. sorry I didn’t get your name) was super attentive and friendly! Really enjoyed being there

Great atmosphere, solid service and a nice call back to the speakeasy bars in New York. Only thing to improve is derailing what alcohol is in the cocktails- I like to know what I’m drinking.

We wandered in to this cozy space after escaping a nearby skull-thumpingly loud "speakeasy" with watery drinks and curt service. Burrow Bar was the polar opposite- warm, quiet, welcoming from the start. Jackson welcomed us in, sat us immediately, and found a better table for us after only a few moments of sitting at the bar. He was also very attentive and knowledgeable about the wide selection of drinks and made some great recommendations. We will definitely be back!

Another bar hidden behind an unmarked door. Sydney, what are you doing? I had you, me and the Italian, which only filled about half of my glass but was quite good. Hopefully if someone not new makes it, it would be more full. Free mixed nuts. Dark inside, but not so much so you can't see the person next to you.

This bar is one of those hidden gems that you really, really want to keep to yourself. And I would if I could but word is starting to get out.... its time to share with the Yelp community. The 4 people who run the bar know their stuff. Not only do they have a great collection of fine spirits, with which they mix a mean cocktail, they also have a select range of wine and craft beer. They make their own ginger beer (try it in their Quirk and Stormy), their own bread (their Reuben Sandwich is da bomb!) and their home made chicken liver parfait is so good it sold out before I had a chance to try it. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and very special. On entry you will notice the beautiful sandstone walls, hand worked wooden bar top, comfy lounges and shiny shelves stacked with an intriguing range of things in bottles. Soon time fades and conversation takes over. The sound of happy friends' greetings, music, the mixing of cocktails and the soft murmur of conversation provide a convivial background where you won't have to shout to be heard. Their cocktail list is unique but won't stop you ordering your own favourite. My buddy and I love a good Caipirinha but often have to miss out as Cachaça is not on the shelf. Not here... Jonny's was perfect and we toasted his health. It's a bit tricky to find. Off George St in De Mestre Place at Wynyard. It looks a bit divey but keep going around the corner and look for the dimly lit B.

Tricky to find, but absolutely worth the effort. Fantastic cocktails and great atmosphere. Fun (not too loud) music and excellent back bar selection (Pappy Van Winkles 23!) Also, really friendly, welcoming and attentive staff.

A real gem. Really hard to find (go down the service road on De Mestre Pl, then turn right and go in the door that has a "B" on it), but totally worth it. It's a low key, pleasant craft cocktail bar with pretty good food, good music and nice atmosphere, a cool place for a date or hang out with friends where you can have a conversation and enjoy excellent drinks.

My fiancé and I were just wandering around looking for a bar to go and found this ABOLUTE GEM! The bartender (tall dude, apologies I'm horrible with names) took us through an amazing adventure or mescal and scotch. I reluctantly write this because I don't want any of you to find it.

Great little place in a slightly disconcerting location. Bryce and Conner looked after us extremely well with some great new and interesting cocktails. Nice ambiance,where you easily hold a conversation. Great sel cation of drinks.

Nice bar. Feeind had his birthday party there. All of us commented that the price of all the drinks was ridiculously expensive. When you think that it is more or less an obscure wasted space their rent would be cheap.

This place is everything I could possibly want in a bar - hidden, groovy without being tiresomely hip, friendly, and full of tasty delights. I can't recommend their Shrubs highly enough - I had the Pineapple/Thyme Shrub with a gin base and it was the drink of the year as far as I'm concerned - I can't remember the last time my taste buds were in such a state of pleasure. But if you don't know what to order, put yourself into the capable hands of the staff who will sort you out. I'd move in if I could.
