Since Burton Removes negative reviews about their products on their website, I'm adding my review of the 2024 Burton Custom X snowboard: I picked up the Burton Custom X traditional camber profile board and rode it three times. Once on hard pack, once on packed powder and once in powder. Having had about 13 boards over the course of my snowboarding career, I can confirm that this board sits in the lower third as far as performance. And in the bottom three as far as construction quality. Without a doubt, it is certainly not worth the premium cost compared to other boards - in fact, I'm not sure it's even worth half the price. Let's start with the poor quality top coat, which comes right off when cleaning it to adhere a stomp pad. I couldn't believe how much black came off the board when I looked at the paper towel after some minor rubbing with mild soap. For a board that costs $850 bucks, this should not be the case. I know from the White Custom that the board scratches easy, but after three days, it's pretty banged up. Can't even imagine what it will look like after a season. With the traditional camber profile, the board can carve a nice edge, but it doesn't possess the energy I was expecting from the X variant. I've had early Never Summer cambers that had much more pop back in the day. It sinks more than I expected in powder and the board needs steep terrain to get up to good speed in order to stabilize in deeper snow. The sidewalls also appear to be separating from a poor manufacturing process. This is definitely a Burton board to avoid. Not recommended. It's so hypocritical and frankly sad that a company that touts the environment, equity, inclusion, etc. has the audacity to filter negative reviews.
