Burts Hotel

If I could give 6 stars to Burts hotel, I would. This is exactly what hospitality should look like. Every member of staff was superb: welcoming, super efficient and friendly. We went as a group of cyclists and this place is brilliantly geared up for this with a dedicated shed with capacity to charge e-bikes. The food was superb (evening meal and breakfast), with some excellent local beers. We asked for packed lunches and got the best butties (and Burts crisps). The rooms were perfect, clean and really comfortable, great showers. Even better, the rooms had windows you can actually open. We had a few random requests re food and rooms, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Brilliant. Can’t recommend highly enough. The highlight of the Coast to Castles bike ride for sure.

Dinner in the Bistro Bar. Burt’s Hotel is one of the few places I go where I know the food is guaranteed to be good. Last night’s dinner was excellent. Best meal I have had in a long time. Potato terrine to start, beef off the specials menu for main and all accompanied by some very good wine. Four of us had different dishes and all four of us rated the food very highly. Compliments to the chef and staff for a great evening.

Trish and Nick have an amazing, professional, and wonderful team working for them. They are a lovely couple, knowledgeable about the area, friendly and helpful. Ross - makes better margaritas than anywhere in Texas, according to my daughter! Ann - our server for dinner on the 26th of June, was super friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and she was very professional! Dylan - took care of us for breakfast on the 27th. Super attentive, pleasant, and obviously happy with his job - his smile gave it away!

Really lovely comfortable clean hotel with 5⭐️service. We had dinner in the hotel which was also really delicious. Parking on site was great and the location on the high street ideal. Melrose itself is a beautiful destination with lots of lovely walking to be done. Hope to return

On Mothers Day we headed to the Burts Hotel in Melrose for lunch. As per usual, our food was cooked and presented perfectly. Kids enjoyed a good value lunch and all plates were returned spotlessly clean back to kitchen. Deserts and the complimentary fudge with coffee went down well. Staff serving us were extremely friendly but professional with orders being taken not long after we were seated with drinks being delivered shortly thereafter. Despite being busy we had no waiting time with meal being served at a comfortable pace. The lounge bar at the Burts is a local institution in Melrose, long may the warmth and hospitality of the Henderson family continue.

We enjoyed an excellent meal in Burt's hotel restaurant tonight. The food was excellent, the service was fast, friendly and efficient, and the dining room was comfortable with a pleasant atmosphere. Great value and we highly recommended this restaurant.

This was the start of our St Cuthbert's Way walking trail and what a great start. Very friendly, and welcoming staff and an excellent breakfast, with plenty of choices. Of all the accommodation we stayed in over 8 nights, this one was joint first with another in Wooler.

Superb food in the Bistro Bar on a visit to celebrate birthday ( with spaniel Freddie). Probably the best Caesar salad I have ever eaten and wonderful fried fish too. Excellent efficient service and GENUINELY dog friendly.
