I'm a local, but hadn't eaten at The Bush Hotel since before Lockdown. I went to meet a friend there for lunch last Friday at 12.45pm. I ordered one of that day's special options: hake. It was tasteless with the edges of the fish burnt dry to the plate. Vegetables were work-a-day, especially for a special option: overcooked green beans, also tasteless, with mashed carrots & turnips, & mashed potatoes. We had 4 servers at least throughout our meal, but yet & all my friend had to ask one of them to clear our plates away. The servers were all disinterested, none of them asked how our meal was &, in fact, one had to go & ask what the vegetables were on the special, all very lackadaisical. I have no problem spending money on a good meal, but the total for my meal alone came to €38 which was disproportionate for what I received (& didn't finish, which no one queried). I would've liked to have had time to speak to the manager, but I was on a tight schedule so that didn't happen. Both my friend & I tip generously when we eat out, but we left nothing this time. A huge dining disappointment altogether. The only plus was that the dining room has disabled access, which I need. Other than that, diner beware!
